101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Manage Your GPU farm the easy way! (30 days free) on: January 21, 2021, 09:59:11 AM
Hello guys, I've been mining ethereum since 2017 and I am still doing that, thanks to simplemining but since I have no time to make a deep research, I have noticed that my 4Gb GPUs are mining now around 20MH/s each GPU. They are Saphire Radeon 4Gb RX570, they were mining 30Mh/s. I have other rigs with 8Gb GPU cards and everything goes well. I am almost 100% sure about  it is the 4Gb stuff the reason why they are mining now that but I´d like to know if there is any option to bring them back again to the 30 Mh/s. Thanks in advance guys and keep the good work coming.

There is nothing you can do about hashrate with 4gb cards and ethereum.
This is due to fact that dag size in eth exceeds 4gb file and it is no longer fully loaded into card. Therefore gpu hashes slower and slower every new dag(every 4 days).

At some point you could switch your gpu to etc as etc had hardfork which allows 4gb cards to hash with full speed but it is much less profitable so you need to make calculations. Beside that there is possibility to mine raven.
Please do every few days calculations using whattomine.com to see when it will be profitable to switch from eth to something else on those 4gb cards.

Made a test today with 2 almost identical 6 x RX470 8GB rigs, same settings, same pool, same Phoenix eth miner: (used watt meter and pool data)
SMOS rig gives 2 % better hashrate, but consumes 9 % more energy then win 10 rig.
Bad surprise...

Linux drivers are little different than windows.
The same settings will not give the same results.
You can probably go lower in uv in smos or lower core.
There is many factors.
Also depend which os image you are using. Try the one with 18.30 amd libraries if you tried on 20.30 amd library image. (So try second link on website download page instead of first)
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Manage Your GPU farm the easy way! (30 days free) on: December 03, 2020, 05:31:39 PM
Ok, understood, those MVDDCI and MVDD fields are only for RX 5000 cards, thanks!
But how can I UV RX 400/500 cards? Examples don't tell anything about memory UV...
If I can't UV memory with SMOS, then I simply can't use Your software...
ps: sorry, discord is no go for me - hate that app...

In polaris you can undervolt only core to 900 or 875mv (at 1150mhz).
Polaris GPUs does not allow to undervolt memory thats why this is not available.

If you wish you can contact us also on admin@simplemining.net
Discord has also its own disadventages thats true.

Hey!

My first day with SMOS:
how can I undervolt memory?

Memory UV (MVDD): ?
Memory UV (MVDDCI): ?
Aggressive undervolt: ?

(RX 470 8GB eth only mining)

and what is Powerstage: 1-7?

I suggest entering our Discord. Help team will help you gest started pretty fast than writing here Smiley

Depend on cardm go to Overclocking in that rig you want to OC and then click OC examples button at the top of this window.
You will see suggested overclocking settings.
MVDDCI and MVDD are for RX5000 series (not RX500 series)

RTX 3060 TI Support?
Image is in progress as we speak. It will be released after few tests. If you wish to receive email with this image please write to admin@simplemining.net and i will send You link to image within few hours.

Will you be adding support for the AMD RX 6800 series any time soon?

Yes we are working on it from 2 weeks.
There is some progress and support will be added asap but it is always harder with linux drivers than windows ready to use drivers.
Please write to me at admin@simplemining.net - when we will have first beta i will contact You and send You it for testing if you will want.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Manage Your GPU farm the easy way! (30 days free) on: November 27, 2020, 12:11:08 PM
I have 7 5700 XT GPU on a motherboard. The setup was running fine for last 2-3 months. However since last few weeks 2 of the GPUs goes offline. Any suggestions?
Might be many things.
First i would suggest to lower overclocking, rise undervolting and check again.
Then you can replace riser in that GPU.
In most cases on of those should help.
Also be sure to check all cables that go from PSU to GPU and to riser - Maybe one of the is burned ?
Take a look on our discord for live help.

on which simple mining image I can mine on rx 6800xt
We are working hard on RX6800 support.
Right now there is complete mess in Linux AMD drivers Wink We need to give it some time.

107  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Interviews] with Bitcointalk members on: November 02, 2020, 10:33:13 PM
Hmmm. Good timining. I am drinking some alcohol and no things to do Cheesy

1. When and why did you become interested in cryptocurrencies?
I was into HYIP at the beginning and all over e-gold.com payments. Then in 2011 i suddenly saw bitcoin and was stressed saying WHE THE F I SEE THIS BITCOIN JUST NOW Huh

2. When and why did you buy your first bitcoin?
I guess i did not buy it at all, i was mining it with HD 7970 using scrypt and LTC and those GPUs were overheating A LOT !

3. How did you get on the forum?
I think it was google.com

4.1. What prevents mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
I think banks, gonvorments and correlation in countries plus big fluctuations in price.

4.2. How do you think mass advertising of gambling projects has a positive effect on the development of the forum or harms the community?
Positive. First people with gambling will come. Then the normal people.

4.3. How do you consider whether 2-3 years of experience in cryptocurrency is enough to successfully invest or does an investor need to receive special education?
Hmmm, Honestly crypto is like HYIP. Also crypto is evolving a lot. We had bitcoin which might fall, then ETH, and then maybe polkadot or other and another crypt generations.

5. What do you think of the current Merit system and signature campaigns?  Do they harm the forum?
I do not use it, hard to say.

6. The most useful forum topic? Most helpful users?
Hard to say, i was using only mining/alternative coins forum. Can't tell.

7. 3 things you would implement on the forum?
New forum engine.
More responsive mods.
Ability to edit own threads to get rid of trolls even they were added as unmoderated.

8. Do you trade on exchanges or invest in projects?
Yes. My idea is to invest small 1/100 part in 100 projects and wait for one to sky rocket.

9. Tell a story about your big profit or big loss?
Well, i lost in HYIP. I lost in crypto. I was hacked in MT GOX. Then i created simplemining.net and with work i got profit Cheesy

10. What do you think about the DEFI ecosystem?
Right now it is another buble. In time it might make sense.

11. Is your anonymity a vital necessity or precaution?
Hmmm. Whatever, i will die anyway.

12. The last cryptocurrency book you read?
I dont read books. Like NONE. Last book i red was 15 years ago in order to get free pizza slice in 1-6 grade school Cheesy

13. Advise 3 cryptocurrencies/tokens for investment in the next 1-2 years?
ETH, DOT, LINK, something newer - smarter yet to come.

14. How much will Bitcoin cost at the end of 2020?
15660 $

15. P.S. (Optional)
Please remember that money is not everything.
Please be kind to other. Do not run after money every single day.
And do not be workaholic like me !

Is it possible to change the VRAM timings of stock 580's with SMOS?
No, this operation needs to be done in bios file and flashed to GPU. On our discord guys can help You with that.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Manage Your GPU farm the easy way! (30 days free) on: October 06, 2020, 08:41:13 AM
Bad riser?
Or too much undervolting.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Manage Your GPU farm the easy way! (30 days free) on: October 05, 2020, 12:29:58 PM
As of tonight, 8GB gpu rig started failing with DAG size issues on Claymore v15 on ETC hashing, as seen on Claymore thread, plenty of others noticed that. Any ideas?
Switch to teamredminer or phoenixminer and mine ETH. That will help.
ETC has bigger dag and claymore did not made any fix for increased dag.
All working fine, as i informed my clients month ago to switch to one of those miners. I do not see any drop in stats.

I can mine eth without issue with claymore, whats the point? I said my issue is mining ETC...
I see. You will still have problems with ETH on claymore sooner than teamredminer and phoenix. If you do, please remember this advice.
Also if you want mining ETC, you can do that using other miners than claymore also Smiley
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Manage Your GPU farm the easy way! (30 days free) on: October 02, 2020, 03:47:21 PM
I have 2 cards nvidia 1660 super and amd 5700xt. With this OS can I undervolt and change settings to mine? AMD has stock bios.
Yes You can but we do not allow to mix those two in one rig.
You would need to have two separate rigs.

Personally....number of invalid shares will be perfect. Not as "%"  . Would be better to count invalid shares.
This will be very good for too many rig owners. Sometimes when things go wrong on workers, we'll be able to see this early.
OK, will do that and graphing number of shares accepted nad invalid per gpu and per whole rig but that in new dashboard after we will do few other things.
Thanks for suggestion.

 Dear DEV..

You can consider adding the number of "total" valid / invalid / stale shares counter to dashboard.
OK i will think how to implement this. Do You actually need valid shares or maybe % of invalid shares is all we ACTUALLY need ?
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Manage Your GPU farm the easy way! (30 days free) on: September 25, 2020, 06:38:56 PM
I have two questions about this mining OS.

1. Is this simple mining OS available for Linux?
2. Can 4GB graphics cards works on this mining OS? Like AMD RX 470, 480, 570 and 580 with only 4gig Memory

1. SimpleMining OS is based on linux ubuntu. So it is linux.
2. Well depends what do uou mean. 4GB cards work longer in here than in linux[fixed typo] windows when we talk about ethereum mining.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Manage Your GPU farm the easy way! (30 days free) on: September 24, 2020, 04:19:50 AM
is it possible to adjust the fan speed for one of the cards in the rig via the web gui?  if not the web gui, is there a shell command I could apply?  I would like to put the fan at 100%
No there isnt. Target temperature is doing it automatically. What is your case and why you need it to make one at 100% ? What is your goal ?
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Manage Your GPU farm the easy way! (30 days free) on: September 23, 2020, 09:24:11 PM
On all GTX 1070/1080 cards you will need to keep increasing core a little with each epoch change or it will keep dropping hashrate, it will no longer be as high as what it used to be back in the days. Its caused by a driver bug that nvidia will not fix.

The question is if all nvidia gpus will have the same fate with the dag file because even if eth is gone then will be other coins with the dag. That makes new nvidia gpus less attractive because you dont know when they will have lower hashrates every few days.
I talked with nvidia developer with many back and forth messages and the result of the 41 msg conversation is:

Quote
Hi tytanick,

Below is the response from Engineering team -

We’ve confirmed that the performance drop is due to the size of the DAG exceeding the total on-chip TLB capacity on the Pascal GPU. As a result, there is an increased number of TLB misses, which affects performance. Because the TLB is a fixed capacity hardware resource, and the ETH algorithm accesses the DAG randomly, we don’t believe there are any software optimizations that could reduce the TLB miss rate.

In the Volta generation, TLB coverage was increased by 4x, and large DAG sizes (up to ~8GB, which won’t be reached for many years) will still fit in the on-chip TLB. So these newer GPUs (Volta and beyond) will show much less performance sensitivity due to DAG size.

First post was here I joined to get my panda miner to run.
I remember You of course Smiley I remember all my first clients Cheesy
Yet i do not want to change the price just yet. Improving of the service is better way. There is so much things to be done...
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Manage Your GPU farm the easy way! (30 days free) on: September 22, 2020, 08:09:59 PM
First off, I love this service.  So easy to run rigs and not have to worry about drivers, patches, etc.  Keep it up!

My question is about my 5600 XT cards.  Right now in the GUI I have 1300 in CoreMHZ and 920 in MemoryMHZ everything else is default settings.

Right now I am getting consistently 40.15 MH/s with a power draw per card of 101W .

I wanted to know if anyone has experimented with these settings to get the power draw per card below 101 W?

You can try changing undervolting but one at a time.
core undervolting to 800 or even 750 if it is stable then:
mvdd 1300
mvddci 800
If some of those is not stable tthen try +10mv until you will see stability.

Update v1290
- fixed problem with missing GPU informations or number of gpus
- fixed DNS checking while miner start
- fixed black text on black background in console with cryptodredge mining
- config.txt and uefi partitions will be mounted as read only now. If you want to modify your config under ssh, you need to make partition as read write now by entering command rw /mnt/user
- ro and rw tools for switching /mnt/user (and optionaly /boot/efi) partitions RO/RW mode

hello, wanna switch from Windows to your project - but i would miss Awesome miner
any possibility to install? ssh login with miner:mayemailadress wont work
maybe you can add the agent in the image directly?
Right now i do not plan to implement awesomeminer. Can You tell me why you need it ?
Smos has everything You need ? You can monitor your rigs in dashboard. What are you missing ?

Pls help me. Web show Hashrate = 0 but consolo still show Hashrate normaly. I try restart but still same.

Please send me email to admin@simplemining.net with details of your problem and rig that has this problem. I will take a look.
