UPDATE v1145
-network performance tuning - rig at startup and reload will send status every 8 seconds for first 5 minutes, so console will be more interactive and after that it will send status every 1 minute
-now the dashboard will work much faster Smiley
1082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 28, 2018, 09:33:53 PM
+1 on remember me button at login. Sometimes it asks for relogin too often.
I am aware of this problem that sometimes totally random someone gets logged out.
I cant debug it in my enviroment becasue it is so rare Sad
If anyone could give me some info WHEN is this happening and how to reproduce it ?
I am only suspecting that somehow cookie on client browser is changing and thats why server stops seeing someone as logged user.
I also count that after migration to Amazon AWS the problem will just disappear.
1083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 28, 2018, 09:26:48 PM
I cant wait to the day when i will have step by step HOW TO prepare, run, debug, and all other documentation in SMOS Smiley
There are soe many the same questions that repeat itself just becasuse people dont look behind in forum.
But i get it, This forum (i mean one thread with all questions and answers scater on those 350 pages is something that i would not search Tongue)

I am still thinking if making dedicated simplemining forum would be good idea or not.
I cant do this anytime soon but i am just thinking is this the right move.
Or meaby it would be just enought to make one big help page.
Any suggestions ?

Hi tytanick, do you plan to add the latest version of ethminer (0.13)? It work as well as Claymore for nvidia's gpus without the dev fee when mining ether.

Yes i will add it as there are few requests already.

PHI miner isnt on my list right now.

Hi all,
I am new user of SMOS.
Can I ask , if its possible change reboot timeout from 180sec, when miner crash?
Thank you.
What do you mean ?
Right now smos reboots itself instantly when there is some kernel problem.
I have also in plans adding more informations about crash like storing dump from miner console or dmesg.

Hello SimpleMining Dev,
Question, I know recently you have advised people not to use SSH aka not to open ssh ports.
But honestly ssh is perfect for live viewing of multiple rigs so i have a question.
I went ahead and changed the root and miner passwords as to prevent an attacker changing my rigs from mining something else.
would this cause issues for simpleOS , say from updating or anything like that ?
To be frank your website version of viewing the rig is not even an option as its missing the ability to watch it live and to give it command line changes aka + - on dual mining and so on or even clicking S for stats.
so please let me know if changing the password is an issue for you (DEV) and if it would cause issues down the line in term of you pushing updates and so on.

No problem, you can change ssh password.
When you change to both account to something strong like 12+ characters then its ok.
It wont break anything.

The console view i have in plans - upgrading this feature to have much faster and more live status there.
For longer perspective i have also in plans giving possibility to use something like web integrated ssh console for each rig but i will need much more time to make this right and secure.
1086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 27, 2018, 11:37:15 PM
This didnt work for me:

3 Rigs are 500km away and in SM it says "offline", but its still working, i have access to the router and also see the consumption ...
In SM i see its Software RX 1142, and the network has ipv6...
It worked find up till today  Huh

PLEASE help ASAP

Please write to me at admin@simplemining.net
I would need from you ssh access to one of your rigs to check it out or team veiwer to any windows that is in the same network LAN as rigs.

Also i see that sometimes there is problme that 0,5% user having when cloudflare is changing ip addresses of my domain.
It seems that some DNS resolvers on client side are not working properly and that would be the ISP fault or client router.
Still i would like to check it.
1087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 27, 2018, 02:59:28 PM
Hey Tytan,

I imaged a new USB stick because the update I pushed out to this system failed. Also, another system I what to bring online has the same problem. When updating files it gets to Claymore 10.2 and gets stuck in a loop for a while and finally finishing booting after many attempts. Any rig group using Claymore will not work now for that system or another that I'm trying to bring online.

Error is:

Unexpected EOF in archive
Please contact me on admin@simplemining.net
I would like to debug this problem.
1088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 27, 2018, 02:34:57 PM
Hey, dev. Do you plan to add the ability to mine on CPU? And a separate setting for each GPU.
Totally not my priority and i will really need to make many tests becasue this could lower speed of gpu mining and we dont want that ...
Anyway i am not planning this for at least next 3 months.
1089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 27, 2018, 02:27:53 PM
I was wondering how smOS behaves wehn there is no internet connection for couple of hours? Does it freeze or how does it behave?

I have Win10 + Claymore running atm. It runs for weeks, but if I loose internet for like 30mins or so the whole rig freezes and you have to physically switch it on and off...

I just fixed some connection problems.
I appears that if someone has ipv6 in his network then curl was connecting even 6.9 seconds to simplemining.net server.
I released update in which now it is using ipv4 default and problem appears to be fixed. Now it is connecting under 0.5 second Smiley

UPDATE v1143 (already on your rig Smiley
- fixed - case where rig could not connect to simplemining, register and get new config (curl now uses ipv4 as default protocol), That caused that rig was using old written config and in case of new flashed pendrive it was XMR mining

Anyway if simplemining servers are down for some reason or if there is planned maintenence or for example internet connection to simplemining doesnt work ...
Then rig is using last downloaded settings.
1090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] dstm's ZCash / Equihash Nvidia Miner v0.5.8 (Linux / Windows) on: January 26, 2018, 11:55:57 PM
Having this issue & yes, on SMOS. Would just replace SMOS with Ubuntu if I could but only have remote access to rigs. Might need to mod SMOS source to fix :/
Recently i rolled update which limited number or running nvidia-settings processes which caused big load which caused most probably speed degradation mostly on motherboard H110.
1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 26, 2018, 11:43:38 PM
Hey! I have the same problem since today. 1 of my rigs changes to cryptonight. I think we were hacked or something, i can't change back to equihash.

yeah i have the same problem
Reinstalled a rig   the cannot connect to simplemining 1/10 2/10 etc
After that the xmr mining for somebody else
plz fix it

Hi, Do you see where exactly is the rig mining ?
Is it meaby here ?
https://xmr.nanopool.org/account/43jBkwkiwumbpVPRxB8pTVif58yaKj5745Ub1P9aKWTcZjgivCTdjp9WbwaVe4vUMveKAzAiA4j8xgUi29TpKXpm42kTTCW
Then it would explain this becasue if rig cant connect to simplemining then it will start using default last downloaded config which is XMR.

Also can you check something for me ?
This behavior would be ok if this is new flashed rig and it cant connect to simplemining.net and download new config.
Then it would be using default one which is the account i wrote above.

Can you guys send me email to admin@simplemining.net and answer feq questions ?
Please write from the same email that you are using in simplemining.net
Email subject: Rig XMR config problem
1. Is it new flashed rig and first connection to simplemining ?
2. Was it mining before using your config and then it switched back to default one ?
3. If yes then how this happened ? Did it happened after reboot or while working it just switched to this xmr ?
4. While it is mining into this XMR pool can you login via ssh to this rig and send me output of those commands ?
cat /home/miner/config.json
ls -l /home/miner/config.json
uptime
5. Also please tell me what is this rig name.
6. What motherboard are you using ?
7. Do your rig has assigned public ip address or did you forwarded 22 port to your rig on your router ?

Few users already told me about that issue but it just fixed itself after rig succesfully connected to simplemining.net servers.
When it is new flashed rig and cant connect to simplemining then it will be mining using already written default config which is in deed nanopool xmr mining.
I just want to know if this is the same address and if this happens on only new rigs or on rigs that were mining ok and then just switched to default config ?
It is in deed strange so please send me those information as soon as possible.
1092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [DEVICE] SimpleRigResetter - Auto reboot freezed rigs - AVAILABLE NOW !!! on: January 26, 2018, 11:25:09 PM
Could this be used to keep a router up 24/7 as well?
Unfortunatley no, its only for rigs.
I dont have in plans making router resetter Smiley
1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 25, 2018, 11:04:58 AM
@tytantic,
Downoading  RX OS & NV OS images are same, can u fix links please.
Thanks.
lol
tytanic add this ISSUE ( Grin) to the help page please

Yes they are Smiley I know Tongue
Accually the NV and RX image should and will work on most R9 GPUs as well.
I will soon merge this into ONE image.
The reason that i have separate images is to give more clear info that you CANT MIX amd and nvidia in one rig Tongue
1094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [DEVICE] SimpleRigResetter - Auto reboot freezed rigs - AVAILABLE NOW !!! on: January 24, 2018, 01:38:48 AM
Hi Tytanick, so these bards are daisy chained? Each board will passthru the voltages to the next board, correct? Lets say the first extension board is 10mtr away from the SRR, the next extension board which is an additional 10mtr away would plug into the first board and so on?
This is a welcome change, I was expecting each extension board to need its own power supply.
Looking forward to stocks of SRR2 and the extension boards Smiley
Correct.
Thats why i was selling 24 V 2A Power supplies Smiley
To cover up up to 10 Extension Boards on this single PSU.
So connection will look like that:
And it cant be connected in curcle ! It must be 2 separate lines.

24V 2A PSU ->>> SRR -----> EB -----> EB -----> EB ----> EB ----> EB    (<---- Optional second PSU if total lenght of RJ45 between EB will be much higher than 100 meters)
                              |
--------> EB -----> EB -----> EB ----> EB ----> EB    (<---- Optional second PSU if total lenght of RJ45 between EB will be much higher than 100 meters)

I made sure that the product will be SIMPLE and just work Smiley
Also it is worth to tell that accualy we sold already about 1000 pcs of SSRv1+SSRv2 and only 2 of them were broken (from the beginning).
Also there was one case where one slot didn't worked but ofcourse all 3 cases were handled with 100% refund or discount choosed by customer.
And accually no single SRR broke while was working. And already one year passed since first sale Smiley
Also the warranty is 2 years so i can say that those are rock solid stable products Wink
So i am thinking that connecting them to single PSU would be also ok Smiley

1095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 24, 2018, 12:14:44 AM
The problem with offline dahsboard is fixed.
OVH Cloud infrastructure had problem with disk performance (the speed degraded 20 times).
They fixed this after about 1,5 hour.
Anyway i am speaking with AWS Amazon cloud providet to move there becasue OVH is .......
I am sorry for that problem. Keep in mind that all your rigs should be mining fine with last downloaded settings even if dashboard is offline.
When simplemining dahsboard is offline it is important to check your rigs statistics on pool website just to be calm.
Thanks for your patience and your support !
1096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 24, 2018, 12:13:49 AM
So my rig stopped mining, and it seemed to have nothing to do with the server being down.

I decided to hook a monitor to my rig to see if could find out anything. And after booting the SMOS displays this message over and over "There is no screen attached matching miner".
Any ideas what this really means?
Mostly it means that system cant find any GPU or process didnt started.
IF you have one gpu then check if it is connected, meaby something unplugged ?
Or it could be problem with riser.
You can enter command: lspci
that will list your devices. Check if you will see AMD or NVIDIA there.
1097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 23, 2018, 11:53:53 PM
UPDATE:
Seems that OVH just fixed the problem.
I will be watching this for next hour.
1098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 23, 2018, 11:34:57 PM
i am chill, but, the guy has hundreds or thousands of paying customers, and buys shit... OVH is not for critical stuff, is for kids to play and warez dudes...
Accualy i am speaking with Amazon AWS to migrate to their service because OVH is shit but i had to start somewere ....

And yes, please calm down and just watch your rigs in pool to have confirmations that they are working.
1099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: January 23, 2018, 10:42:36 PM
Just wanted to give you update.
We curently have problem with cloud servers.
As we see the OVH datacenter has problems right now.

Please be patient.

Those boards will make my life way easier Smiley Lenght of cables will solve some issues as well.
Also worth to mantion that The RJ45 cable between SRR and Extension board can be from 10-100 meters long Smiley
100 meter is more less total lenght that RJ45 (ethernet cable) could have.
Its becasue SRR power supply is 24 Volts and both SRR and Extension Boards will work if the input voltage will be in range of 12-24 Volts.
So if 24 Volts will be at the beginning of ethernet cable that is connected to SRR and at the second end it will rop to 14 Volts then Extension Board will still be working Smiley
So limitation is Voltage. Also better ethernet cable = less voltage drop = cable could be longer.
100 meters is safe lenght but i probably could be even 300mters also od good quality copper cable Smiley
And Second thing. Extension Board doesnt require addonitional Power Supply.
But if the voltage drop is too high on very long distance then you also have option to connect second PSU directly into extension board Smiley
Still i gues those informations are not needed for 98% users.
