101  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetKing.io is a blatant scam operated by Dean Nolan on: November 20, 2019, 03:27:34 PM
I dont know. I have given up on getting my money back. He's making sock puppet accounts to fake repayment. Im sure those people who he "paid" were just him sitting behind his computer and trying to form a narrative that favors him. He's got nothing going forward and is likely just delaying to Jan. 2020 to give him more time to get away with it. If he has no money there isnt a way he could gain any without Betking being open.

How could he gain money even if Betking was open? It was hacked remember Cheesy so there is no bankroll.

The only reason he would open Betking again if he thought he could scam some more. I would watch out for emails going to his ICO bag holders saying he just needs a few hundred BTC to recoup their losses. People often throw good money after bad so it could happen.
102  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cypto Gambling Forum - Get Paid Cryptos for Post! on: November 20, 2019, 03:16:22 PM
You may need to talk to your hosting service or CloudFront for that I guess.

CloudFront is Amazon (AWS). It doesn't block Tor specifically - you can request a new circuit and it will usually let you in after a few tries. It is annoying tho. I think the site owner should tweak the firewall to be more tor-friendly.

3. Buy Cryptos with "Bitz" at the Member Shop

Unnecessary complication. Pay in real money. My guess is that you don't have a budget so you're trying to skate through counting on some future ad revenue or something. If you could sign a message with an address holding enough "cryptos" to pay for let's say a million posts that would add some credibility.

But paid posts will be very low quality as others have said. Maybe you should find another way to attract people to generate content.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Has alt season started? on: November 20, 2019, 03:02:41 PM
Altcoins could start the bukl signal maybe by next year or year 2021 aince bitcoin is still in crisis and it could take a lot of time to recover and not immediately to rise up and definitely its gonna happen and we need to hodl as much as we have funds and always buy in dip.

And buying an altcoin could give us a lot of profit just like on year 2017 and  only buy those has potential to increase in the future.

This sounds like a great recipe for bankruptcy. It's called "catch a falling knife" and has its roots in the gambler's fallacy that following a "down" there must be an equal or better "up" . That's not true at all.

Holding altcoins today is a bad idea. Buying more is even worse. If there is going to be another alcoin bubble you will have lost all your money by then if you do what you're saying here.
104  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Suggestions for protecting your email privacy on: November 20, 2019, 02:25:15 PM
There have been cases when hacked two-factor authentication?

The commonly used 2FA (30-second 6-digit codes) is basically just a random password that gets hashed with a time value to produce your code. So the advantage is that the password itself is never sent over the internet but it can still be leaked from the server or from your device via some malware or from backups.

That depends on type of 2FA you use. It's possible to use email as 2FA, even though it's rare nowadays.

I mean TOTP standard which is probably the most common offline 2FA method.

I don't think email confirmation qualifies to be called 2FA, it's just an out-of-band verification method. It's better than nothing but it's vulnerable to various exploits and it doesn't satisfy the basic MFA requirements (two or more of something you know/have/are).

TOTP is also not perfect because it relies on a shared password but that's a different discussion.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your altcoins and tokens TODAY, save yourself the frustration on: November 19, 2019, 04:58:54 PM
your saying that you know everything or you know the truth about those tokens and altcoins  . what is your background ? are you one of those devs ? or are you a time traveller to say those things like you mean it ?  what i know is that the world of cryptos are totally unpredictable  . no one knows or no people can possibly state or predict thier total outcome  . all cryptos including the shittiest ones can possibly recover or possibly be listed and have its own value anytime of the day  . so i will still continue to hodl all my tokens and altcoins whether you like it or not .

Yes, I'm a time traveler from 2015. Bitcoin was the top coin then and one altcoin boom later it's still the top coin but many top 10 or top 100 altcoins are gone. You're saying that a miracle can happen and I'm saying it's silly to bet on a miracle.
106  Economy / Gambling / Re: .4 BTC lost on satoshi dice on: November 19, 2019, 04:44:54 PM
If you look at the year when he made that post, it all makes sense actually. BTC value was around $600 back in 2016 which is why his 0.04 BTC is now worth 0.4 BTC at current rates($8500) which is why this is not a typo.

That's not how exchange rate works. 0.04 BTC is still 0.04 BTC.

The TX ID provided by the OP two years ago shows 0.04 BTC:

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/f8ca704cc3c877d8e8bef695414ee8953eeda2a1d9179a0f772499895e55d27d

It was sent to 1dice97EC address, so it's on-chain bet. Unfortunately the bets are not provably fair so it's unclear if it's a winning bet. The chance to win was 49% if i remember well.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your altcoins and tokens TODAY, save yourself the frustration on: November 19, 2019, 04:17:13 PM
Even if I agree with the OP statement in a big percentage he is missing an important thing. The liquidity on altcoins is very low and we can't know if institutional funds will pour into them eventually. Personally I think they will do and when that happens we will probably see those spectacular gains again. IMO it is worth the risk reward equation Wink

Low liquidity is a bad thing, don't make sound like a good thing. It means than any big bag holder which are usual with premined shitcoins can dump and crash the coin at any time. Institutional investors will not put their money into that kind of risk.
108  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Custom made private Bustabit Script on: November 19, 2019, 02:44:50 PM
Like any other script, this is gambling. This script skips games when there are few reds so it tries to skip the rape trains, but if you lose 15 games in a row you lose your money. It happened to me. Also I made over 1000$ with this from my 100$ investment over the course of 2 weeks. You need to take it slow and be careful. That's how scripts work

Scripts don't work. Gambling is random and you can't change your chances by skipping bets or any other strategies. Stop scamming gambling addicts and get a real job.
109  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ProtonMail black friday is on! on: November 19, 2019, 01:51:53 PM
I am sorry, but EVERYTHING is wrong in this post.

Not a single thing was wrong in my post.

I know you don't like protonmail, but spreading misinformation is not how you are going to promote alternative services. Wink

What alternative services am I promoting? Just saying that it's not as simple as some users said. I have two ProtonMail accounts and had to sacrifice some privacy to get them.

I was using Tor and as others said it looks like an IP abuse issue.

If that option is no longer available, then just create a disposable email on one of the hundreds of temporary email websites which require no information whatsoever and use that.

Tried a hotmail account didn't work. I don't remember the error message. Had to use a gmail account which being google of course knows everything about me.

If you only have the SMS or donate options available to you, then you can either try registering from a different IP as HCP has described above, you can try any of the burner phone numbers you can find via an internet search, or you can use bitcoin to pay for a plus account and then immediately downgrade it to a free account.

Online SMS things didn't work. Different Tor circuits didn't work. Paying and downgrading is a good idea. I didn't know a downgrade like that is possible.

111  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Custom made private Bustabit Script on: November 18, 2019, 02:26:54 PM
I don't want to deposit to bustabit using money from my pocket, so that's the reason I'm selling the script.

This doesn't make any sense. You had money deposited there to create and test your script. You show a screenshot that you nearly doubled your money in 5 hours. You could be rich in a couple of weeks if you just left it running. You'll never make that kind of money selling the script for $30.

But obviously the script doesn't work, like any -EV gambling script. Maybe there is no script at all, you just trying to scam a few bucks...
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your altcoins and tokens TODAY, save yourself the frustration on: November 18, 2019, 02:14:35 PM
only a few coins have a few characteristics that are different from bitcoin, like privacy coins, but the rest do not bring anything to the market and deserve to disappear.

Even that is just a matter of time. Schnorr signatures and Taproot soft fork that could happen some time next year would bring privacy features to Bitcoin. This works both ways. Altcoins can improve on Bitcoin and add new features, and that's great. But if the idea is worthwhile then Bitcoin can also take it and implement.
113  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [For merit] Discuss the effect mining rewards have on the price of Bitcoin on: November 18, 2019, 02:00:47 PM
Well this thread hasn't really worked, and nobody seems to have addressed the  primary point.

I think it's because you asked only junior members to reply. I didn't respond initially because of that Smiley

I think the bitcoin price will not be affected much by halving. The halving has already been priced in by the markets. Mining profitability doesn't have much effect on price either. It's always profitable to mine for someone somewhere and big mining farms are already located in places where they can mine profitably at $3000 as we saw just a few months ago. Very low bitcoin prices may affect mining equipment prices so it may finally kill Bitmain for example.

payments from the pool of Bitcoin that was created when the genesis block was laid.

I think this is somewhat incorrect, sorry for nitpicking. You probably mean the code that was programmed to emit new bitcoins on a certain schedule but the coins themselves were not pre-created at that time. The block reward is created in every block. If everybody stopped mining those coins would never exist.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is sharing number conformations required is a crime? on: November 18, 2019, 01:47:49 PM
Nope, not a crime... As a matter of fact, i think they're more or less obliged to tell you how many confirmations your deposits will need in order to be credited to your account...

Not disclosing this information can lead to abuse... If your tx has 210+ confirmations, i don't think they can use number of confirms as an argument in a discussion about not crediting your account.

Totally agree that they need to disclose it just want to note that requiring hundreds of confirmations is not unusual for some unstable shitcoins that have like 10-second block times and fork on every other block.

I don't know anything about XVG tho... but some googling shows 50 sat price, 16 billion coins, 30-sec block time, been hacked in the past - I wouldn't be surprised if exchanges don't want to take it without at least 1-2 hours worth of confirmations.
115  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ProtonMail black friday is on! on: November 18, 2019, 01:33:38 PM
You can sign up to ProtonMail with no identifying details whatsoever. Even the recovery email address is optional. All you need to input is your desired username and password.

There is a "are you human" verification which requires email, SMS, or donation. The only donation options are PayPal and Credit Card (no BTC). Email option doesn't accept some email addresses I think my hotmail address was a no go. Yeah still have one of those.

That's for the free account. I don't know if the paid options let you in without being "human".
116  Economy / Reputation / Re: BetKing.io hacked? :o on: November 16, 2019, 04:24:29 PM
How could you be so petty and selfish and totally disrespectful to other investors like that.

Speaking of petty and selfish and totally disrespectful to other investors, why did you lock the thread after I posted this?

Quote
All users with significant balances have been contacted by email or Telegram. If you have not received an email and had BTC, ETH, EOS or LTC on the site please email support@betking.io.

This is the dumbest way to handle this. Did they deposit via e-mail or telegram? There are so many ways how this can fail.

And how exactly are you planning to refund if you got hacked? Is this one of those white knight schemes where you pretend to be hacked and "recover" part of it to make yourself look good and avoid getting sued.

And then you disrespectfully called me...

Quote
retarded trolls posting.

I wish you that the money you scammed buys you so many pina coladas that you get liver cancer.
117  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Brave Browser - Why it doesn't care about your privacy on: November 16, 2019, 04:13:02 PM
I hope someone else, maybe firefox, could just implement their business model paying users with BTC without kyc.

I don't think we need that at all. I don't mind being not paid for browsing the internet. If I want to make money there are better ways to do it. Paying for browsing brings unnecessary conflicts of interest, abuse etc.

All I want is software that let's me see nicely rendered HTML and doesn't spy on me.
118  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Merits again] Discuss the velocity of Bitcoin on: November 16, 2019, 03:59:22 PM
The scale is exponential for some unclear reason, maybe to make it fit nicely on the M2 line?

But the main flaw in this is that Bitcoin transaction volume doesn't reflect actual velocity as defined under the chart ("how quickly money is circulating in the economy"). Someone could be mixing coins, or moving them between cold/hot wallets, or doing something else that doesn't have any correlation with Bitcoin economy, adoption etc. It might have some correlation with transaction fees but even that is not so much important for larger transactions.
119  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetKing.io is a blatant scam operated by Dean Nolan on: November 16, 2019, 03:49:49 PM
The BetKing scam artist Dean Nolan claims that he is in the process of compensating his victims but does not tell when I will receive my affiliate commission!

If you were an affiliate to a scam site does that make you an accomplice? Maybe you should compensate the actual victims instead of demanding to be paid from the scammed amounts. You didn't put any money into the site, you profited from it.
120  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You chose to "Be Your Own Bank" don't get complacent and scammed, I did. on: November 16, 2019, 03:14:34 PM
Sorry this happened to you.

Yes, you absolutely need to report these crimes to authorities. If the amount above a threshold where they actually take a report. That's the reason why these scammers are so bold - they think their uncatchable because nobody tries to catch them. But they leave a lot of breadcrumbs so it's possible to catch if enough users complain.

You didn't say how this person (or the person you thought they were) knew about you having coins, but that's something I never do - tell anyone about my coins. If someone asks me about it outside of BCT then I know they're fishing or somehow followed me from BCT or some leaked exchange e-mails or whatever - all good reasons to avoid them.
