101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Rush on: November 11, 2013, 03:09:38 PM
I was just wondering if Bitcoin mining has developed as Satoshi originally envisioned ?

I've read Satoshi's posts a few times over and he seems to like the idea of people using their rigs to replace electric heaters. Maybe he didn't expect this level of institutional/pool mining activity.

Come to think of it....Maybe he's making an altcoin at this VERY MOMENT and using a new handle? Hmmm?
Yeah, he knew that the larger entities would eventually supplant the hobbyist.  I'm pretty sure he even wrote about it in his introduction, or white paper.

So they have mentioned that they will attempt to pay people back?  If that is the case I apologize for intimating that they wouldn't.  I haven't seen a post by them for so long I made an assumption..

Has steamboat posted recently?

I'm trying to catch up on some of the 'older' companies on my list, trying to figure out what everyone is up to.  I realize none of the listed items are in stock, and I am trying to figure out what I can remove from the main list.

Thanks for the update marto74!  Sorry it took me a few days to get to it.
105  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mining Equipment Manufacturers -- AMT updated on: November 07, 2013, 10:15:19 PM
Thanks for the email AMT, I have changed the data you mentioned.
I realize that I still need to update your lead time with the new shipping dates that you've posted, I'll make sure to get to that in the next couple hours.
106  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) on: November 07, 2013, 03:28:46 PM
Will all your equipment be completed at the same time?  Is it true that the larger 192+ are not tested, and therefor must have a different shipping date?
Has anyone received a tracking number or unit?

Just because they started with good intentions doesn't mean that once they got over their head that they did everything they could to make it right.

Three cheers Phin!

This is an oddly parallel, funny too that an xbt is worth almost two tons of iron ore.

Yup, great idea.  This does seem to be an area that needs extra attention.

Thanks, I'll fix that.

Ok finished 53,
It's posted here:
http://decentralizedhashing.com/2013/10/lets-talk-bitcoin-episode-53/

edit-  I meant to add that I would like to donate the .15 to Let's Talk Bitcoin.  I've listened since the beginning, and haven't had a chance to contribute.
Very nice, I'll try and proof-read it over the next few days.
Also, a great thank you for the donation, may I suggest that I donate the .15 in equal parts to the authors of the three transcribed episodes so far? Or should it go to just the author of your episode? Just let me know, thanks a lot. Smiley
I'll still have to figure out what to do with those 0.15 BTC, send them to LetsTalkBitcoin directly, to the author of E53, to the authors of several episodes? Suggestions welcome, I'm having a hard time figuring out what's best.
My first thought was to put it in the tip jar for the episode, but that was before I knew there were individuals for each episode.  That's what I would have done anyway..  I'm not sure how that gets divided, or if it goes to a general fund.

Added all seven AMT machines.

Added all seven AMT machines.  Check their page for a larger section of timing

Hi are there any left to do?
A couple posts above yours shows all the open ones.

Yes, interesting site.  Can you put collaborative efforts up there?  It looks like the focus is on hiring for a paid position.
116  Other / Off-topic / Re: I need an app developer on: November 04, 2013, 12:08:38 AM
I know the earning potential is higher if you can pay to build an app, but I just don't have the cash right now.  Plus I have so many ideas it would be nice to build a relationship with a developer.  Hopefully I'll be able to take care of the graphics or I'll have to split even more of the revenue!
117  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] 0.15 BTC per transcript of LetsTalkBitcoin on: November 04, 2013, 12:03:56 AM
I'm sure there are, only about 3 have been done.

Thanks pabloangello, message sent.

Xanis, I started to make a thread there, but I wasn't sure if it qualified as a service.  I suppose that I am looking for a service, though.  I thought maybe it wasn't bitcoin related enough, as the first series of projects I want to do ..  well, isn't Smiley
I'll try there though in the next couple days.  Thanks!
119  Other / Off-topic / I need an app developer on: November 03, 2013, 05:46:18 PM
The first set of applications I would like to make come from my experience (7+ years) teaching Tai Chi.
Eventually I have a couple other apps that I think should be made, some extremely simple with a high earning potential if they catch on.

I realize this is the newbie section, and my newbie question is:  Where should I post about this on this forum since the beginning project is not about bitcoin?  I wanted to ask here first because I would like to work with someone from the community if possible.

Looking for someone who can prove they have experience programming apps for mobile devices, and needs a new project.  Pay will be split ownership of apps developed, and all profits gained.
120  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) on: November 03, 2013, 03:49:41 PM
I don't see any reason that AMT shouldn't be on my list as long as martin is vouching for them.  Before I can add them, though, it looks like the equipment they are selling isn't going to be all ready at the same time.  Is this true?  If so I would need to know what will be done at what time.  If not, should people start getting tracking numbers for their shipment in a few days?
