Good bye November, hello December! November saw a fairly sharp decline in PoE submissions, only a dozen and those only coming from myself and James. PoE, now in its 10th month, has been considerably successful overall. Of course, we do not want that to fizzle out, but winter and the holidays are setting in for most of the active participants. So, is to be expected. All community members, especially those in the southern hemisphere specifically , are invited to participate in PoE by submitting any pic / vid of any environmentally conscious task. Any. It could be as simple as a pic of some flora you might notice in your day or even your own houseplant. Simple observations of nature are accepted and rewarded proportionately. Of course, bigger efforts of clean ups and plantings do reward higher. An EGC logo present gives a nice bonus reward. The December reward pool is already over 4k! C'mon and get out there, show us some of the environmentally conscious tasks we know you are already doing , and let us reward you and gain some exposure for EGC. Simple. Win, win. Have a great week and, should you be so inclined, PoE. Thank you for the continued support. p.s. The board has ruled that shoveling snow alone will not qualify, therefore not be an accepted work share, for PoE. Sorry northerners. But, wear a nice EGC hoodie, and it will be rewarded.

EverGreenCoin Core v1.9
is available for download
Windows (x86 & x64) & Mac OS X Almost 25% of the EverGreenCoin Network has upgraded to v1.9 already! If that includes you, thanks for upgrading! If you've yet to upgrade, fear not. You can upgrade at your convenience and upgrading is a cinch! You only need to run the new executable you download and not your old. As with any wallet upgrade, it is advisable to make a backup prior. An EverGreenCoin backup can be created easily from the 'File' menu of the menu bar of your EverGreenCoin wallet, select 'Backup my EverGreenCoin', and follow the straightforward prompts. Tuck your backup into a secure location of yours, close your old version wallet, and enjoy v1.9 by executing the new you have downloaded. You can delete your old shortcuts and old executable safely. Of course, opt to allow access if your firewall or antivirus software asks. Linux users, please build from source when convenient. Thank you for supporting the EverGreenCoin Network! Every drop peer counts!

Greetings EverGreenCoin community, Today marked the 4th anniversary of me announcing my little idea of EverGreenCoin, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1272091.msg13117675#msg13117675An idea that every person should, and must, appreciate the value of nature and responsibility for our environment; regardless of country, religion, race, social status, any of those over-emphasized minor differences that are only a source of division that archaic currencies play on and derive their imaginary value from. Thus giving EGC value any would struggle to imagine or quantify paired against anything. In the last four years, we've been through a lot Bitcointalk community! Ups and downs. It has been a struggle, sometimes often. Few understand how much I've sacrificed to bring the idea to life, but I think you all can appreciate the sentiment that I must come from today. But I wouldn't change a thing, because I've learned loads about technology, environment, and honestly, myself and met some amazing people. Thanks for sticking with the project through all those valleys and highs. I hope everyone is as proud as I today for how far EGC has come! Wowzer, to think back! Thank you for the continued support that allowed that to happen! No one can question, EGC has done some honorable things! What's more, perhaps in a dis-honorable industry. No, I don't mean "crypto" is dis-honorable, but "money", and the greed and manipulations it feeds, is. We've done good, some would suggest great, with a source of evil from some perspectives. You have my word, we're going to do more! To think forward to the next 4 years, I am astounding and mesmerized to think where we will take this! Cheers! Have a safe and happy holiday season! The 2020 EverGreenCoin roadmap will be made available in the near future, I don't 'holiday'. haha No, seriously, thanks! With all sincerity, Steven

We are very pleased to announce this version does display in a perfectly acceptable manner on 16:9 displays with very high scaling applied; and is perfectly beautiful on the widest range of devices out-of-the-box or if a small work-around is applied to the executable on the problematic display configurations. Other enhancements include discouraging, though not preventing, the unlocking of the wallet until after full sync is achieved. This is to help ensure users do not get themselves off chain. Also the wallet has many, many minor aesthetic fixes. Far to many to mention. Of course, checkpoints, copyrights, and other maintenance bits of the software were done. Upgrading is very simple, you only need to execute your new software and not your old. It is an optional, but encouraged, upgrade. As a precaution, and as with any wallet upgrade, it is advisable to make a backup of your EverGreenCoin first. (File > Backup your EverGreenCoin) Thank you for the continued support, and Windows users, please enjoy EGC v1.9 and upgrade at your leisure.

To our friends in the states, Happy Thanksgiving! So the community is aware, our solar web wallets are back online and with a new face lift, better functioning UI, and added security measures. Windows v1.9 is ever-so-close to ready to be released, sorry for the continued delays. We have come a very long way to getting it to function and looking as expected on certain Windows configurations (16:9 4k) with high (250%) scaling. While current win builds (x86 & x64) are in hand that could be released and are 100% usable, I would like to hold off for 100% perfect, or at least perfectly acceptable. We had hoped to release them today, but 2 very minor layout issues make 2 objects not perfectly legible for these corner-case devices (touch screen laptops for example). I would like to press on and fix them before releasing and I do feel it is EverGreenCoin's best interest. This is an issue many, if not all, coins are plagued with, even the likes of PIVX and Bitcoin itself on certain hardware configurations. While no turn-key solution apparently exists, compromises must be found. Testing those compromises, experimenting with solutions and implementing them, to compile again and repeat is proving very time consuming. But it is very, very close. Please give us, Mammix and I, another 12 - 24 hours. I assure you, it will be worth it. One last thing, https://charity.gofundme.com/evergreencoin and we have made other great strides on the public charity front. More on those will be in this month's video update. Again, to our friends in the states, Happy Thanksgiving. And to all of you, we are all very thankful for the continued support.

Greetings EverGreenCoin community,
I'm sorry to inform that the solar web wallet system is down and offline. This is due to a hardware issue. All coins and user information are perfectly safe, though the front-end will need recreated when the new hardware is in place. Off-location backups only consisted of the irreplaceable information, coins and user information, not the web pages. Something I regret at this moment, but am very glad it is not worse by loss of any irreplaceable information.
Unfortunately; because I am diligently working on the new Windows wallet with all available man hours, I can not immediately address the problem. So web wallets will be offline for a bit, a day or two, and until after the v1.9 roll-out is completed.
I apologize for this inconvenience and, again, all coins and user information of the solar web wallets are perfectly safe. But v1.9 must be my priority at this time.
On the note of v1.9, every effort is being made to release the Windows v1.9 as soon as possible. Good progress is being made related to the scaling issues occurring on some devices with some configurations and I do feel confident it will be released this weekend, perhaps even later today, and will be the best compromise available to give the best out-of-box experience on the widest range of Windows devices.
Thank you for your understanding.
EDIT a few hours later: No v1.9 for Windows tonight, but tomorrow is another day!

We are very pleased to announce this version does download charity information correctly and populate the charity drop-down with the dynamic authorized efforts' information. Again Mac users, so very sorry this was overlooked in previously released Mac builds. Windows users, we are still trying to resolve issues that effect some HD 4k displays at some resolution / scaling configurations. (ref: https://github.com/EverGreenCoinDev/EverGreenCoin/issues/42) Every effort is being made to have the Windows v1.9 (probably v1.9.1 at this point) released before the weekend. Please understand this delay is to make the wallet look proper on the widest range of Windows display configurations out-of-the-box, including touch devices and laptops which are more prone to the issue because greater percentages of scaling. There are known work-arounds, but require changing file attributes by the end user and diminishes the out-of-box / plug-and-play experience. Which could be very discouraging to new users unfamiliar with all the "scaling 'magic'" Windows does on these newer devices. This is unrelated to the above mentioned, and now fixed, issue Mac wallets experienced with downloading current charity information. Thank you for the continued support, and Mac users, please enjoy EGC v1.9 and upgrade at your leisure.

Coming soon! Greetings EverGreenCoin community, Version 1.9 of the EverGreenCoin core wallet is being readied for Mac and Windows. The source code is available at https://github.com/EverGreenCoinDev/EverGreenCoin/releases/tag/v1.9.0.0 for compilation. While it has been a long time since a new release; version 1.9 has many improvements, big and small. Too many to mention small improvements to the GUI, and bigger fixes for 4k monitors on Windows clients with certain configurations and issues specific to Mac users regarding the downloading of authorized efforts in the charity dialog. Both these mentioned bigger issues and their fixes will require substantial testing of builds and perhaps rebuilding. For this reason, no firm ETA can be given. If goes well, binaries will be available this weekend. Many, many thanks to the community members that have brought issues to attention over the past year or so. V 1.9 incorporates all those, now many since v1.8.0.1, enhancements and a special thanks to community members that have contributed to finding those resolutions. Thanks for the continued support and ... To the treetop! EDIT: Unfortunately, there is a delay with the Windows and Mac builds that will stretch release out past the weekend. Every effort is being made to have the binaries available as early as possible the week. Sorry for the delay, though it should not be long.

In this season of thanks, starting with our veterans on this Veterans Day, EverGreenCoin is thankful for all the continued support and the opportunity to improve our world! While wars are our civilization's most wasteful and heinous inventions, it is important to distinguish the soldiers from the orders. To all those that served, Thank You! EDIT: This is not limited to USA soldiers.

Indeed! Thank you. But unfortunately we currently have crypto payments via cointopay disabled, so only paypal (or cards processed through paypal) are usable on the website. This is reaction to cointopay's insane-becoming fees. For example; a $10 order payed with even bitcoin is invoiced at $18. With other coins, EGC included, cointopay's markup has become even more disgustingly selfish. We have raised our complaint to cointopay and do hope they can find a more reasonable fee structure. Our marketplace will not use them until they can and do. On a better note, the reward center still uses cointopay and is unaffected by this because of static prices. EDIT: Sorry for the typos. I have an injured hand that is greatly effecting my typing.

Our planet's water belongs to us all equally & free. We should all treat it as the precious resource it is. We all should have access to clean drinking water. Every Drop Counts! === Yesterday EverGreenCoin launched its "Every Drop Counts" fundraising campaign to fund our next water well construction by sales of tee shirts, sweatshirts, and mugs at https://teespring.com/stores/evergreencoin where you can find these limited edition items. -- Thanks in advance if you buy our newest swag and help us build our next water well! if nothing else, this project is doing something to help on their own way. but your next project is not getting attention - --- from feb to nov this year? this is sad. maybe you need to promote your project here as well and give the link - https://evergreencoin.org/product/evergreencoin-build-3rd-well/are you still gonna push thru this next project if you havent raised enough funds? It is sad, yes, but we've not pushed as hard as we can. It's been mostly sitting idle while we've focused on other goals. But this is why we recently launched: https://teespring.com/3rd-water-well-limited-edition and now, as of yesterday, https://teespring.com/evergreencoin-naturals which has many, many more items. 100% of these proceeds go towards funding the well. More campaigns, on various platforms, are in the works also. We are pushing through no matter how much we raise, though $700 is our target to fund a well completely.
