By Moore's Law, we can expect hardware speed to be 10 times faster in 5 years and 100 times faster in 10. Even if Bitcoin grows at crazy adoption rates, I think computer speeds will stay ahead of the number of transactions.
Did it increase by tenfold in 5 years? Not even close. Satoshi did not have the adequate data here. Satoshi certainly didn’t do much (if any) analysis of the scaling limitations of Bitcoin.
We need not appeal to authority. Just because Satoshi invented it, that does not mean that he knows the answers to everything. I suspect Moore's law is dead and I'm not sure it ever existed for spinning drives or SSDs which will be the problem, not CPUs. |

Most APIs have a way to view the order book. I would like to see these api captures, although if the data is in sql that would be ok too. How many coins, for how long, and on which exchanges?
Order histories of the list of completed transaction on the exchange and not one particular account could also be useful.
I can't give you the Api. But only csv file. There is a lot if coin. More than 30 i think. At least mote than a year. I'm active on trex,polo,cex, etc. I discovered Polo has an API call for this so I have enough for now. If I decide I want more data, I'll send you a msg. Thanks. |

Looking at harvsmith's post history this is obviously a troll account.
FACTOMs troll following is pretty impressive. It's partly what keeps me interested in it.  The bitcointalk troll squad only trolls projects that threaten them to some extent. There are a ton of real scammy projects but people don't even bother to troll. Factom is a legitimate project with legitimate goals and a team based in the US. AND dcxtx runs a legitimate service also based in the US. |

I'm working on a project where this info would be useful. I'm not sure about a price until it is known how much data you have. I want it for something besides BTC. Preferably a site like Cryptsy or Poloniex but any site with a decent amount of buy/sell data.

I'm not the only one that believes this. In the beginning it was all about open source and the social consensus, at least that was what they promoted.
Then they made money via Protoshares, Bitcoin donations and Bitshares and now it comes to light that all this was to develop their own proprietary software. Bitshares has to be longest on-going scam in the cryptocurrency realm.

It has bit them in the ass more than once. They are trying their best to keep the development going. It has been one of the more successful altcoins in altcoin history. That is the type of history that doesn't lie. Not sure why you are so set about it being a scam... unless........ you are horribly threatened  Because it's the longest running scam in the history of crypto and goes against everything that crypto represents. I certainly welcome all the supporters of Bitshares to post in this thread and point out where they believe I'm wrong. I come to realize that DE is the strongest believer in Bitshares success. Even with the flaws he perceives that it has, he truly believes that Bitshares will take over the world. He has spent months in this forum letting everyone know how powerful DPOS and Bitshares are. Even with these perceived flaws he believes Bitshares will be more influential than Bitcoin/NXT and all other cryptos. I can't help but admire that confidence and dedication. I have been with Bitshares since the PTS and I thought it could only go to the moon. No one has worked harder to let everyone know Bitshares will go beyond the moon and leave the solar system or even the Galaxy! So I just want to say keep up the great work of letting everyone know just how powerful the Bitshares concept is so it can take over the world!

This coin is too centralized for me. I don't see it becoming a success because of the centralized mining structure.
This is because you are biased from the results of all the near pointless altcoins. In the real world, with actual projects that need ongoing maintenance and improvement, giving developers a longterm stake is actually more aligned incentive wise. The developers get paid in proportion to the value they bring to the project. Once the people who run the project have salaries not paid in stake, that is when you have nothing but altruism to rely on or a need to maintain one's credibility. However all these weirdo POW miner types have this weird sense of entitlement. Their logic is this - Since the first blockchain relies on POW every other blockchain should rely on POW ... just because. How annoying. |

I would sell some portion of my holdings and divest into physical gold or silver. Probably 1/3. A lot might depend on how quickly it moved to $1k and the price of gold/silver. I sold about 70% of my holdings the last time it was over 1,000.

Bitcoin has many issues to become so generalized. The very fact that Justus wants BTC to be a store of value while also believing BTC to be a the blockchain data store speaks to the extremism in his view.
People who have approached this technology with an open mind come to it with vastly different opinions.

And I am sure that this show will never be allowed to be aired in the Cable TV. Even if they allow it, it will be the heavily-censored version. May be they should upload it to YouTube or some other video-sharing site. While the US government restricts a lot of freedoms I find it doubtful this would ever be censored by cable TV. |
