102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are old coins no more profitable on: October 04, 2018, 08:10:21 PM
Horizen is over 1 year old and is for sure a profitable coin, without considering the fact you can earn more if you operate a super node or a secure node.
So yeah, some old coins are still profitable
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Token price dropping after ICO, why so? on: October 04, 2018, 08:07:50 PM
Because the bounty hunters and the early buyer sell as soon the coin is listed somewhere. Since there an important volume of sales then the price goes down

What's the status on plug and play secure nodes?

There are some node hosting services that work pretty well. Chainsaw ninja and cryptonode just to name a couple.

All you need is the prerequisite number of zen in a pubkic wallet address and you're good to go.

Wow good info. How does the community feel about these services? Are they tried and true?

The community is (generally speaking) happy to see such services launched as it shows the growing interest and it helps the ecosystem.
I have neer hear about a scam service so far,  however there are some with a good background, if you check the discord channel you may find some discussion about it.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SLEEPING GIANTS WAKE UP? on: October 02, 2018, 10:05:07 PM
Horizen belong to the sleeping giant, and yep, the coin is going to wake up very soon. Start to buy your coins and #HODL !
Run a secure node or super node to earn more and let's go to the moon together  Kiss
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of Forks [updated 4/3/2018] on: September 30, 2018, 12:44:12 AM
So many bitcoin forks
But I didn't know Bitcore and started to read the white paper. Going to finish to read it home but It looks more interesting compared to all others forks

Bitcore implements true decentralization and user empowerment:
- Bitcore‘s ASIC-resistant mining algorithm restores community participation and counters
centralization effects in mining.
- Bitcore’s application of Bloom filtersi
significantly reduces the required storage to run a full
blockchain node, enabling more individual users to become fully empowered Bitcore
participants via SPV/light wallets.
- Bitcore’s novel airdrop process resulted in a decidedly more equal distribution of the coins,
encouraging Bitcore’s use as a means of payment. The Bitcore community‘s decision to forgo an
Initial Coin Offering (ICO) has kept speculators at bay.
- Bitcore is faster than Bitcoin, faster than even Paypal, enabling it to become a real everyday
payment option, thanks to its timely implementation of SegWit and other design decisions. On
the Lightning Network, a theoretically unlimited number of offline transactions are supported.
Bitcore’s low fees of around $0.003 USD per transaction make it even more suitable for
everyday use and render micropayments feasible.
- Bitcore is an open source project: Collaboratively produced, shared freely, published
transparently, and developed to be a community good rather than the property or business of a
single company or personii

108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Bitcoin Forks Altcoins? on: September 30, 2018, 12:37:21 AM
To the OP

Altcoin = alternative coins

So, as the folks above are saying every coin (beside Bitcoin) is an altcoin, because it is an alternatice coin to Bitcoin
It's just a words combination shrinked
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Monero a Good Investment? on: September 29, 2018, 07:17:06 PM
Monero is only good for a very short-term investment. If you are really interested in privacy coins and for a higher ROI, in the long run, you should check Horizen project, it's good since last year

112  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is there any bitcoin virtual debit card ? on: September 29, 2018, 05:55:58 PM
Hello,

I'm looking for a bitcoin virtual card provider.
I saw Uquid, advcash and spectrocoin, they all advertise virtual cards on their website but they can't actually deliver one since the wave crest thing a few months ago.

Is there any service running right now ? Bitcoin or altcoins, KYC or not, doesn't matter.

Thank you for your help

Spectrocoin is, if I am correct, not using anymore Wave Crest as issuer since some time.

113  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin scams on: September 28, 2018, 12:05:40 PM
It's a very old scam and not so new for people involved in cryptocurrency. The sad part is people who fail in the trap, not sure who is to blame here, the scammer or the people scammed. There is an interview online about this scammer, he claimed to make $50,000 daily and hired a dozen of guys to work for him
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most trusted altcoins? on: September 25, 2018, 07:24:04 PM
If you are thinking of investing in altcoin, don't go without the top 10. I think investing in other is really risky. Those may end up in very short period of time. In can invest in lower market cap, if it has real usage/adoption only.

Some coins aren't in the Top 10 but they do worth more than some in the top. Horizen currently is undervalued despite the fact its tech is more interesting and promising than few in the top 10
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] Horizen: Bringing Privacy To Life [EX ZenCash] on: September 25, 2018, 06:36:26 PM
There is no need to reserve a "slot"
Horizen is based on its community and participating on Horizen is based on voluntary work. Everyone is able to help the project with whatever is his skills. Many people participate to the Horizen platform free of charge just because they support the project
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SLEEPING GIANTS WAKE UP? on: September 23, 2018, 08:54:18 PM
Friends, many analysts say that soon the bearish market will be replaced by a bullish one and, accordingly, there will be a turn up. What altcoins do you think will greatly increase in price?

Probably a privacy coin and I wouldn't be surprised if Horizen is finally being recognized at a interesting and promising coin
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin allowed to continue? on: September 23, 2018, 08:46:57 PM

online betting platform from 2015 which, according to a circular from the central bank issued @ 2018, is illegal since online betting was banned in the Philippines

You found the reason. It's the first one and not the last. That's a problem when you a company. The ToS can change at any time and usually without any warning. At least, I hope you didn't lose a lot
Sometimes companies don't give you a clear explanation in such a situation because they don't want the change becomes viral on the www
120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you reccomend family and friends to join the market when it's crashing? on: September 21, 2018, 10:32:02 PM
You shouldn't give any financial advice if you are not a financial advisor, banker, funds manager or whatever. No matter if the market is doing very well or very bad. If your family or friends lost a lot of money what are you going to tell them then? Oh sorry my bad, I will refund your loss...
Nope...
