1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Your thoughts on SIA Coin [SC] on: August 08, 2017, 09:38:27 PM
Like most of you, I was introduced to SIA Coin as a secondarily mined coin to Ethereum via Claymores Dualminer software. On the premise, I thought it was awesome. Good technology, small but good team, I see a market for it, and I can see why people would choose it over AWS from a cost/security perspective.

Heck, I was even ready to pull the trigger on pre-ordering 2 Obelisk (their ASIC Miners).

That said, I'm starting to have my doubts. Their coins haven't surpassed $0.01 since all coins were waaaay up about 2 months back. Even then, they weren't what I'd consider "high". My issue is that there appears to be little to no marketing despite having a working platform. The UI seems horrendous, albeit I've not used it, outside of the wallet part.

I understand this is never going to be a $50 coin, but some movement would be nice...

What are your thoughts?
1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus Prime Z270-P 8th GPU Problems on: August 08, 2017, 09:10:41 PM
Thanks, I'll try that this evening. I have another rig with the same board and running 8 GPU's (purchased built), so I know its doable. I really didn't want to re-install windows, but it sounds like a driver issue. I tried to uninstall using DDU in safe mode a few times, but to no avail. Stupid me has no restore points, something I've started doing now.

Anyways, thanks for the input, I'll give it a shot this evening.
1003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Asus Prime Z270-P 8th GPU Problems on: August 08, 2017, 08:26:09 PM
Hey guys

Working on a rig here, and can't seem to get my 8th GPU working properly. Seems to be an issue when installing the last (8th) card. Windows detects it, no issue in that, but when I launch Claymore it locks up with a "Thread Stuck in Device Driver" Windows error.

Kind of at a loss. Tried different card, M.2 adapter, and riser - so I know it isn't that. On board graphics disabled, 4G enabled, PCIe set to GEN 1, most recent BIOS installed.

I have lots of power too - 2k watts.

Any ideas?
1004  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Multiple Sig Bounties on: August 06, 2017, 09:36:28 PM
Are we generally permitted to run more than 1 sign bounty at a time? More specifically, linking to more than one in our signatures.

As far as most signature campaign rules are concerned, it's a no. Also there's no way to put them all in your sig unless you will make a modified one to put them all. But it will not be counted in your chosen campaign as they have own set of signature codes.

May we know why asking this in the first place?

Mainly out of the desire to double dip. If I can have 2 in my signature, its double to potential coins that I could accumulate.
1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What to Mine??? on: August 06, 2017, 06:57:04 PM
These threads are beyond speculative. Literally stopped reading through a lot of the forum to do my own research.
I'm mining right now at a pretty strong level, strategizing, and earning. If you're not in it for the long haul.. get off the train

I couldn't agree more. My whole strategy is long. Long term investments will win this race, IMHO.

1007  Economy / Exchanges / Re: The best exchange? on: August 06, 2017, 06:10:44 PM
I'll add that I just confirmed my ID, and that bumped up my weekly limit a decent chunk. Enough to at least satisfy my needs. Their fees suck, but I think that that's a universal PIA.
1008  Economy / Exchanges / Re: The best exchange? on: August 06, 2017, 05:56:21 PM
Sorry - perhaps I misunderstood the question - I thought you were seeking a place to purchase Bitcoin.

If you're looking for market info, I use poloniex as my exchange when I'm on my desktop, but when on mobile I use https://coinmarketcap.com for SIA Coin, and I use https://ethereumprice.org/ for ETH.

Really depends on what you want. I can't purchase coins via Poloniex, but I can convert. Coinbase allows you to purchase Bitcoin or Ether w a CC.
1009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can mining-specific GPUs be repurposed for gaming? on: August 06, 2017, 05:33:46 PM
Connecting to the boards on-board video port would simply use the integrated on-board graphics card, so no. That will not work.

The particular card that you're referring to was designed specifically for mining - minus the bells & whistles such as HDMI/DVI/ETC ports. Its sole purpose is for mining, so if your intent is to re-purpose/sell to recoup costs at a later date, I would not recommend this card.
1010  Economy / Exchanges / Re: The best exchange? on: August 06, 2017, 05:08:56 PM
I use coinbase, but it's a PIA in that you get capped @ $100 per week, unless you want to submit identification docs. With that being said, I've never had any issues with them. I only trade Ether though, so maybe people who use it for Bitcoin would have a different opinion. I know they caught a bit of flak over their handling of the Bitcoin Fork, and not supporting Bitcoin Cash, but if I read their email correctly, they've reneged on that stance.
1011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: August 06, 2017, 04:26:03 PM
In the end, time will tell. As it stands at the moment, I don't see anything glaringly scammy. The fact of the matter, a lot of work is going into this project, and the devs deserve compensation. I'd like to hear their feedback on the number of premined coins in their possession, as I feel it would clear the air. Preferably prior to it hitting any exchanges. In fact, with this coming to light, it could serve as a hindrance to being accepted to the exchanges.

Until I'm faced with a decision of parting with my money, I'm pretty much at a loss as to how this can be considered a scam at this stage. The future will tell.
1012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ICO trackers/directories on: August 05, 2017, 06:48:22 PM
Icotracker just give us some informations about ICOs and we ourselves are responsible for our decisions.

Exactly! The responsibility is on us to do the leg work. If you're not willing to do it, you shouldn't be investing. Period.
My advice is to use any ICO tracker you wish, then do the work.
1013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt Coin Wallet Suggestions on: August 05, 2017, 06:11:48 PM
Exchanges are the way to go since many altcoins live and die every day so developers/programmers won't put in the time and effort to create an all in 1 compatible wallet, also take note that every exchange "can" have a different price rate for coins at different periods of time, remember to Arb Cheesy

Thanks for the info!

Sorry, what do you mean to Arb?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arbitrage

"Arbitrage is the simultaneous purchase and sale of an asset to profit from a difference in the price. It is a trade that profits by exploiting the price differences of identical or similar financial instruments on different markets or in different forms."

This pretty much sums it up Wink

Gotcha - Thank you!

1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt Coin Wallet Suggestions on: August 05, 2017, 06:03:12 PM
Nothing offline, eh?

Everything I read as I was getting involved in crypto was to not leave my coins on an exchange for any prolonged period of time.
1016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: August 05, 2017, 06:00:29 PM

Please expand - Is it a case where there is an undefined amount of premined coins out there being held by a small group (presumably the Devs)? Further, it isn't even on an exchange as of yet, isn't calling it a scam before its existing campaigns of giving away coins a bit premature?

I could see if they had taken an ICO approach, where they were offering Onion coins for ETH/BTC whilst holding onto an unreported number of premined coins would be questionable, but they're literally giving them away.
1017  Economy / Reputation / Re: Can a default trust member (Lauda) arbitrary destroy other people's reputation?? on: August 05, 2017, 05:48:07 PM
Wow.

Instead of apologizing and accepting that there has been wrongdoing, crypto-rainbow and his supporters go on and attack those who are contributing to the very foundations of law and order here on Bitcointalk. They don't know what they're doing. Attacking Lauda means biting your own tail.

Posts like these are causing ever vicious counter-attacks:

Take the times of feedbacks all arrive same times. It's well organized attacks from the same boss.

Seriously, why do you post crap like this? There has never been any attack against you in the first place. Accept the forum rules like everyone else. You're not special, crypto-rainbow. We all have to behave.

If there are scam accusations against you it is your duty as the coin's spokesperson to address these accusations adequately and openly. Censoring from your thread or attacking others is not a solution, but your end. I hope you know that.

let's make some true rebuttal posts in the arguing with this person.
Good luck

Well said!
1018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: August 05, 2017, 05:45:56 PM
My apologies guys, but I'm just not seeing how this could be considered a scam....at least not yet.
I'm yet to receive anything significant in terms of the signature bounty (which you can clearly see I'm part of), but based on the reports I had read prior to joining, I have no reason to doubt that I'll receive them.

With that being said, I've done nothing more than add the signature to my profile, and do what I'd normally do. Post on a forum I enjoy. I'm out absolutely nothing.

I've been scammed before, this doesn't feel like it, lol

The only thing I could potentially see as being a problem in the future is that we're (the bounty participants) advertising their coin, thus when they do hit the exchange, they'll have a significant amount of exposure, at least in regards to this forum, a solid source of information from noobs. In turn, this could influence them to buy the coin. Increasing the value of any held coins, but ya....I'm just not seeing it, or maybe I'm blind - I've been scammed before, lol.
1019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Alt Coin Wallet Suggestions on: August 05, 2017, 05:35:01 PM
Hey guys!

Please excuse me if this is posted elsewhere in this forum, but I was curious if there was a recommended wallet that is capable of holding multiple or all the alt coins that are out there?

For instance, I have SIA, Onion, ETH, and ODN (still in ICO), and I'm currently using a wallet for each coin. Would be nice to have them all in the same place, while I get that it could/would decrease the security by centralizing all together, but it would be a lot easier to manage.

Anyway, if it exists, any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to pop on and thank the Dev team for the airdrops. This is the first bounty I've been part of.
