1001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reactions From Musk's Bitcoin criticism on: May 16, 2021, 08:55:21 AM
Agreeing with most of the people in this thread, I believe this is a tactic Elon did so he can purchase more bitcoins in the future, especially of course after months of shilling and promoting it in his twitter account, and then all of a sudden he just chose to leave bitcoin on the closet because apparently he realized the detriments that bitcoin comes along with, pretty iffy if you ask me.
1002  Other / Off-topic / Re: Slapping Tournament on: May 16, 2021, 01:53:32 AM
Have only seen Russia and US setting up these tournaments, so it's only natural that there still will be no gambling opportunities in this "sport". Nonetheless this will change in the future if the slapping tournament goes on, and if more and more countries jump into the hype and set up their own slapping tournaments as well.
1003  Economy / Speculation / Re: What make people panic sell? on: May 15, 2021, 01:20:47 AM
A lot of factors playing around why people panic sell. Most of the time this is due to FUD and drastic drops in the price of a coin they are invested in. And this only happens in coins that aren't established as yet, or with a coin with a large following with newbies who invested in it. this is the reality of this industry. And as long as certain issues in the framework isn't solved, we going to continue having these problems in the future.
1004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which crypto should I invest? on: May 15, 2021, 12:52:54 AM
rule of thumb when investing in crypto: DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. We can't vouch for you if suddenly the coin we are rooting on dumps out of existence. To avoid the blame game and its subsequent consequences, best if you would study the market by yourself. There are numerous tutorials in the web on how to do it. You just have to have the patience it takes to learn well from it.
1005  Economy / Economics / Re: people stop complain about economy and ccovid on: May 15, 2021, 12:26:10 AM
You can't expect people to stop complaining just yet. Hundreds of thousands of lives are lost, companies and small-businesses are closed off and went down the drain because of the cripping detriments the virus had brought in its wake. The least you can do is to have empathy for those who have lost everything but are still trying their best to carry on with their lives with no hope for tomorrow because they literally lost everything.
1006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Internet connectivity - Gambling wins/losses on: May 15, 2021, 12:00:46 AM
In the early days of online gambling this is a common occurrence in countries with poor internet technology, and of course when the gambling site is poorly programmed. But so far these past few years really helped improve the technology and adjacent to it of course is the clockwork behind these gambling sites, so there's little to no chance that you'll see this problem ever again.
1007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to transfer bitcoins anonymously? on: May 13, 2021, 11:29:05 PM
Mixers are there to help you with that. It's kind of like money laundering but legal and secure, just ensure that you of course mix your coins with a reputable provider. What goes on is the coins are mixed with other coins in the market and is sent to you in batches to ensure that no one is able to track that it came from a single person's transaction. it's a good way to avoid being targeted by hackers.
1008  Economy / Economics / Re: A Sudden Price Drop in The Crypto Markets on: May 13, 2021, 10:52:46 PM
It's slowly recovering and is now at almost 50k once again. The Tesla news definitely caused a lot of uproar and disappointment from some of us. Although contrary to what most of the guys here suppose, I don't think Elon is trolling or memeing this time. He knew the detriments that bitcoin could cause to the environment, especially given the fact that most of us still get their internet and electricity from the burning of fossil/unrenewable fuels, which is directly opposite of what he wants.
1009  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla stops car purchases with Bitcoin on: May 13, 2021, 10:43:30 PM
The reason why they decided to drop Tesla car purchases on bitcoin is quite noble and true to what Elon Musk believes in. However at the same time I feel like it's not going to help prevent the burning of fossil fuels for electricity anyway, so it's counter intuitive. I hope he has something in store that will help people trust Elon's words once again because I feel like he's a good guy in his core.
1010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sumo betting seems rigged - can you make profit with it? on: May 13, 2021, 10:31:23 PM
It can still be profitable if that's the case. Just pick which games and matches you wanna bet on that will at least give you the semblance that there's no foul play going on. You could always obviously see when the game is rigged anyway by observing the subtle behaviors and mannerisms dropped by each competitor. Use it to your advantage, and win games even when the odds are stacked against you.
1011  Economy / Economics / Re: The Modern Mode of Payments on: May 13, 2021, 02:52:42 AM
It's still a flawed system, with constant bugs and runarounds that people do to one-up on each other. However, since the demand is soaring high, the developers are always hands-on in ensuring that their applications are working in the best of its ability given the current technology, lest they risk falling behind in the current fast-paced running digital economy.
1012  Economy / Economics / Re: Africa needs to fix continent, richest people are politicians on: May 13, 2021, 02:48:25 AM
Sad that a resource-rich country like Africa is having problems and is currently listed as a third-world country because of poor decisions made by the ones that should govern them. Strong anti-corruption ordinances and laws must be passed and implemented in order to ensure the future of this country, otherwise it will just turn into another Venezuela.
1013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM in a gas station on: May 13, 2021, 02:41:48 AM
Bitcoin ATMs have been existent even before the massive adoption and price pump last year. Although of course because of the aforementioned eventualities there seemed to be an increase in number to cope with the increasing needs of people to transact through bitcoin. But I don't think they will be as ubiquitous as regular fiat ATMs just yet. We needed the adoption to come first before these people see the need for these types of ATM
1014  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to seek help if you need; concerned with gambling addiction. on: May 13, 2021, 01:33:45 AM
It would always be best to seek medical attention from a trained professional first and foremost before you go around medicating yourself. Not only will you get better advices, you'd also be assisted in recoveringfrom the  addiction you succumbed into. Furthermore, some anti-depression medications would require a doctor's recommendation before you can even buy them, so you would really need to consult a professional firs.t
1015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be hijacked by world billionaires??? on: May 11, 2021, 09:31:04 PM
In some way they really can, since they can buy off large portions of the supply and keep it, effectively making them the whales of the bitcoin market. This could be averted however if more and more small-time investors like us are to invest even just a little bit into bitcoin. We can level the playing field by numbers advantage, and if they are to take over the market, we can simply dump the coin and make it worthless so they can leave it alone.
1016  Economy / Economics / Re: Will China take over the world with the Digital Yuan? on: May 11, 2021, 09:29:08 PM
Biggest selling point of bitcoin and most cryptocurrencies is the fact that they are decentralized, offering unending freedom to its users. Digital Yuan is very much in its infancy, and would have a hard time competing against the much superior and well-established cryptocurrencies in the market. I guess their biggest advantage is China's large population which, provided that a mandate is passed for everyone to own a digital yuan, could help the budding coin go on par with bitcoin.
1017  Economy / Economics / Re: Warren Buffett says he's sees ‘very substantial inflation’ and rising prices on: May 11, 2021, 09:26:57 PM
what's "substantial" for warren is considerable and integral for the ones that are at the lower echelons of the society. The ones that are impoverished are most affected by the never-ending inflation of the US dollar, which further subjects them to a substandard way of living that I believe Warren wouldn't be able to survive had the positions been switched between them.
1018  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mark Zuckerberg named his goat Bitcoin on: May 11, 2021, 09:24:03 PM
I could name my dog bitcoin or dogecoin too if I want. People nowadays like to dig in too much into stuff when sometimes it's all just superficial. Elon has been a very common victim of this in the past but after the internet got used to his constant memeing they eventually stopped checking, perhaps we can divert the energy we expend in digging up unimportant stuff like this to something that will help us earn something in the future. I don't know just food for thought I guess.
1019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling risks during coronavirus pandemic on: May 11, 2021, 09:20:28 PM
It's all about self-control really. Long as you know when to draw the line with online gambling, you should be good to go when gambling. As OP suggested, do something else that will distract you from the urges of gambling when you feel like you're succumbing to addiction. Exercise, do something that is entirely unrelated to gambling so as to not give you any hints and ideas while you're abstaining from betting.
1020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could we crowdfund a movie about Satoshi Nakamoto? on: May 11, 2021, 01:38:49 AM
We can, but then again what would it be? If it's a documentary, we can work that out, however if it's going to be a biography, we can't make that since we don't know a thing about Satoshi, not even what he looks like, other than the fact that he is the one who created bitcoin. If we're going to create a movie, it has to be something that doesn't have to compete with other movies in its category.
