1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DigitalCoin.Co | Secure. Established. Active Development | V2.0 Core Announced on: April 08, 2014, 12:34:51 AM
any news?

Not as yet. I thought DGC V2 Core update was due for release any day now tho.

EDIT: Apparently the 2.0 core update is on hold pending more evaluation on the algorithm before it gets released. See Baritus post here:

http://digitalcoin.co/forums/index.php/topic,965.msg6967.html#msg6967

CryptoAve enhanced website will undergo new testing in 2.5 weeks according to Baritus. Other changes for it in the pipeline as well. Looking forward to seeing it back up and running soon! Approx by May 1st.
1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DigitalCoin.Co | Secure. Established. Active Development | V2.0 Core Announced on: April 04, 2014, 01:43:03 PM
I tried syncing my wallet. no luck even with added nodes, using the v1.1 wallet. My 6715 HBN also just surpassed my 23k DGC in the value.  Roll Eyes

Did you also add these nodes at the link below to your digitalcoin.conf file?

http://digitalcoin.co/forums/index.php/topic,115.msg353.html#msg35

Also check that port 7999 is forwarded in your router and/or software firewall(s)

Additional troubleshooting info here too:

http://digitalcoin.co/forums/index.php/topic,583.msg3125.html#msg3125

Otherwise post a message here in the Digitalcoin troubleshooting forum section

http://digitalcoin.co/forums/index.php/board,4.0.html

and you could also ask for assistance in the DGC IRC channel - irc.freenode.net #digitalcoin

Good luck!  Smiley

Indeed, it looks very nice.

I hope this attracts even more people to this great coin. The digitalcoin is really undervalued now!

Yes,
Digitalcoin is a great coin,
His future is very bright, is a promising coins. Smiley Smiley

And so cheap right now Wink

Yep if only I had some spare btc!!
1004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Alt coin to invest in 2014 on: March 31, 2014, 12:27:18 PM
!.  Bitcoin:  cause is still works like a charm and is the original, long confirmation time kinda sucks
2.  Dogecoin:  community, inflationary which sucks IMO, and the meme fad might wear off
3.  Digitalcoin:  very professional, capped supply, designed for the long haul and coffee buying usage

I like the idea of NXT, but the release was so fkn shady its not funny.

Yeah Digitalcoin has alot of services and development behind it at the moment including the upcoming Digitalcoin Core 2 update which includes a new custom algorithm amongst other things.

1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why all the coins are getting cheaper? on: March 29, 2014, 02:02:31 PM
Actually I never seen a dev with a solid business plan. I seen hopes, promises but no realistic plans.

Then you don't know CGB.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=245086.0

And DigitalCoin too.

No, not digitalcoin.

The scammers behind digitalcoin do not even bother to secure their blockchain. Look at its hashing power, it is utterly pathetic. It is simply a bullshit scam trying to scam idiots into putting money into a wet paper bag to be stolen.

-MarkM-

Get a clue goose. While the hashrate could be alot better, since when has DGC been forked UNLIKE a number of other coins due to not being "Secure". Shows how much you know about it.

Care to explain your scam reasons? Do you even know the definition of the word? I suspect if you did you wouldn't be calling DGC a scam. Moron.

DGC has been around since last May and has arguably the most services in dev out of any alts. Its just had a revamped website go live and has an upcoming core 2 update including new custom algorithm amongst many other projects. Its idiots like you that give Cryptocurrency a bad name spouting FUD and not backing up any of your claims with solid evidence.
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DigitalCoin.Co | Secure. Established. Active Development | V2.0 Core Announced on: March 26, 2014, 10:42:46 PM
I am going to use a custom difficulty algorithm in the upcoming 2.0 update. It is yet to be named.

Interesting. Hopefully its an improvement on KGW etc. This is another example of DGC's uniqueness and an additional reason why I'm supporting it long term. Looking forward to it Baritus.

Cheers.
1007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ANN | DGCPoker.net | New Digitalcoin Poker Site | Low Rake | Fast Deposits on: March 26, 2014, 01:51:21 AM
Cheers. Will try and get on! Always fun. Hoping for a good turnout!  Smiley
1008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Can Digitalcoin DGC, Do To Attract More Investment In These Times? on: March 25, 2014, 12:57:15 PM
Yeah hopefully CAve is back with even better security soon. Better to err on the side of caution they always say. Its pretty crazy times with Gox and now Vircurex going under and most likely more to follow, plus other exchanges having various issues. Turbulent times.
1009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DigitalCoin.Co | Secure. Established. Active Development | V2.0 Core Announced on: March 24, 2014, 11:58:52 PM

Just wanted to share with you guys my Digitalcoin paper wallet design that you can find here:
http://www.printpaperwallet.com/?design=alt-digitalcoin

The GitHub source if you wanted to download it and run it locally can be found here: https://github.com/transcoder/printpaperwallet

In addition to the Digitalcoin paper wallet design, I have created ones for other coins that I hold such as CasinoCoin and Vertcoin.

Credit goes to Canton Becker for the original tri-fold template as well as the Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin designs.

I'd appreciate any donations!

Nice job. I'd suggest posting this over at digitalcoin.co/forums as well!
1013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digitalcoin Dev ROBBED! on: March 19, 2014, 02:58:46 AM
thanks for throwing me under the bus(users can still withdraw their funds from OpenEx btw)

Ok fair enough I didn't realise funds were returned there after the breach. Will update my post.
1014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digitalcoin Dev ROBBED! on: March 19, 2014, 02:44:19 AM
If I was running a 'secure' exchange and was dumb enough not to be able to secure my own personal coins, I still wouldn't be dumb enough to announce it..........just saying  Wink

Agreed. Why announce it? Oh it is setting the stage for the next announcement. The ex employee has robbed the exchange of all funds.
you, sir, have foretold the future LOLOLOL

All coins were repaid to customers. I received mine within 24 hours. Others did as well.

wait...so you are saying the exchange was robbed? and Bart paid everyone back with his own? Huh

If people actually check these threads from the start they will read as stated by Baritus himself and evidenced from customers for example Danny that NO coins were lost on CryptoAve during the hacking attempts. Security measures that were in place alerted CAve admin to these unsuccessful hacking attempts.

Once again this in contrast to other exchanges such as Gox etc which lost coins.  All customers have been able to withdraw the coins they had on the exchange while the security enhancements are being put in place as we speak. Overall I'd say a job well done by CAve admin to catch these attempts without customer loss. Looking forward to it back up and running soon.
1015  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: March 18, 2014, 01:11:31 PM

Recently Baritus the developer of Digitalcoin reported the theft of 500,000 DGC worth about $30,000 on the open market by an employee that physically installed a key logger on his unsecured and unlocked Windows machine.

Does anyone have any idea who this employee is?

Did Baritus have an office somewhere for CryptoAve and Digitalcoin?

Even more puzzling is that Baritus will not list any of the public addresses of the "stolen" coins which would allow for tracking the coins or to even to verify a theft actually happened in the first place.

I think it is more likely this mystery employee does not exist, no theft happened and Baritus has unloaded or plans to unload the coins. He couldn't just sell them outright because of the way it would look to people that you are actively soliciting for investment money from.

Now back to the original question, Who is this mystery employee?

~BCX~

Dev said "custom keylogger" so no hardware.  no diff than grandma clicking punch the monkey on her windows box.

Tell me again why 'security guru' not using secure os and best practices???

Do people not read?? This has been explained numerous times. The theft happened on Baritus' work machine (yes he does have a job in an IT related industry) while he left it unattended via a keylogger installed by a supposed "trusted" work colleague. Now are people telling me everytime they have left left their work pc they a) Lock it and b) upon return think oh my "trusted" work colleague might have keylogged me I better run a scan. No of course bloody not. Cut Baritus a break and stop acting like you have never left your pc at work unlocked for even just a few minutes AT LEAST ONCE. If you say you haven't your full of shit. Anyway even if the machine was locked a person with physical access such as the work colleague can still get into the machine another time and install the keylogger if they wanted to.

Baritus is one of the hardest working and most decent dev's out there. He could have ripped people off many times over easily if he wanted to over the past year. He does not deserve this treatment at all and I actually feel sorry for him losing such a large sum of his personal dgc via such a callous, brazen act from a trusted person. No one expects their work pc to be hacked by a colleague now do they?? Therefor most normal folk would obviously not be going above and beyond to secure such a machine at work given the usually low level threat in that environment.

CryptoAve on the other hand is highly secured and on seperate servers totally unrelated and no coins were lost during hacking attempts due to the security measures that were already in place. Once again this is more than can be said for other exchanges that have been hacked and lost customers coins. The site is down and being reinforced as we speak.

Now that everything has been explained YET AGAIN, FFS BCX and any other muckrakers get a life and go trade/walk/gym/game or whatever else it is that you do, this dead horse has been flogged enough.
1016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digitalcoin Dev ROBBED! on: March 18, 2014, 08:44:35 AM
You already have the relevant details in the block explorer. This is definitely the block concerned so you know the addresses already.

Why are you not going through these addresses proving your theories ?

"BCX" is a complete dork, he's here to hate.

Everybody knows that. Why do you keep responding to his remarks and please, why did you send him such a ridiculous PM?

Time wasted entirely

If they gets nailed to the wall for thier illegal activities thats one less "Dork" causing issues and creating drama for the Cryptocoin community as a whole. Job well worth doing in my book.
1017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digitalcoin Dev ROBBED! on: March 18, 2014, 07:20:30 AM
Yeah sounds like a good move. About time people like this are brought to justice.
1018  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: March 18, 2014, 06:44:33 AM
How many stupid threads are you going to start about this? Lame.

By the way folks BCX admitted he mines DGC in the last thread about this so go figure eh.

If I were you I wouldn't get too excited about bcx mining on that pool.  I read that in the other thread and that is his signature mark before obliterating sites. From past experience here I know he tends to get right in your face and leaves little doubt who is doing what. If you will go to the stats in that link he posted, you can see as he said, is donating 100% to the pool as I assume that's what the icon means? I don't think bcx is too interested in collecting dgc.

Apprently you haven't been around here long enough to know very much about bcx. A while back Baritus made some public challenege to a noob here to kill his new coin. When bcx stepped up Baritus made an apology thread clearly staing he wasn't talkiing to bcx. You should probably consult with Baritus and get his opinion before starting a war with bcx on his behalf.

Back on topic. I do have a fair amount of dgc and this does concern me for the integrity of the coin and its future. While certainly Baritus has the right to sell his coins, his credibility and reputation are on the line and posting the missing coins addresses is just the right thing to do.

I have been around DGC a loong time since the first week actually and I speak to Baritus alot so know alot more than you think.  Baritus is not worried about a troll like BCX. What I find stupid is he is actually mining DGC while spreading FUD. If he had a half a clue he would help the community and hold this DGC to profit later on when it rises up which it will. I have seen his rants and threats for a long time here and on Cryptsy chat.

As for the idiots saying Baritus dumped the 500k DGC himself I will reiterate once again WHY would Baritus be as so stupid as to dump 500k DGC at rock bottom prices especially after working so hard on DGC for almost a year and CAve just being released. Anyone who thinks this has lost their marbles.

BTW Baritus has just employed an additional resource to assist recoding the necessary parts of CAve and getting it back up in a timely fashion. Now is a great time to buy DGC at an insanely cheap price which I suspect BCX is doing anyway given his FUD campaign.

1020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoAve.Com Adding One More Coin For BTC/USD exchange. Which should it be? on: March 18, 2014, 05:46:04 AM
Ignore BCX he is actually mining DGC and has admitted it in the previously mentioned thread. -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=514689.msg5756708#msg5756708

Now back to the important stuff..

Update from Baritus regarding the security recoding for CAve:

"I received a cash injection into CryptoAve that I will use to hire an additional software engineer for CryptoAve. That should help get things done fast."
