1004  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitfinex on: May 01, 2013, 01:25:38 AM
I've been trading on bitfinex since the day of the big sell off (actually discovered it that morning and moved some of the meagre amount BTC i own from mtgox to there). I find it fantastic because its a trading platform that provides rich trading options, unlike mtgox, which doesnt even have stop order functionality which i wanted to protect against the "bubble popping".

I managed to open a short position on BTC at $220 during the sell off to hedge my current BTC holdings which means i didnt have to sell my BTC on mtgox during the lag period. I still have all those BTC on mtgox.

interessting.....is this site safe?

to go short I have to have Bitcoins there, right? If I have Bitcoins there but no cash can I go long?
Yes you can, they have USD loan when you go long.

I cannot login using Google Authenticator, I was just logged in the office and got home now Im getting incorrect token.

Is there a problem with the site? because it was down just recently.

1014  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why you shouldnt use mtgox ever again on: March 09, 2013, 06:35:24 AM
There is advantage using Mtgox if you want to withdraw dollar.

Normally mtgox btc price is higher compare to btc-e.com

If you have btc fund on btc-e.com, transfer the btc fund to mtgox address, then sell to usd. it's 3%+ higher.

It's an arbitrage, check my site below for actual rates.

1015  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOWTO: create a 100% secure wallet on: March 09, 2013, 06:14:15 AM
Me, my style is to secure my important bitcoin address.

I downloaded the open source code of bitaddress.org (just html and javascript) and open it OFFLINE in my PC browser to generate bitcoin address and private key.

Print the address and private key information. (BTC address record is printed in paper, secure this copy)

Close the bitaddress page.

So this address has no record in my PC, then I can use to fund this new address.

If I want to use it, I use electrum client to add the private key, then send some fund to other BTC address, after that I delete it in the wallet.

Just my style of securing my btc.
