10201  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X Experience on: April 09, 2020, 10:13:53 AM
I'm just amazed at how the battery life on the Nano X stays. I mean, it's over a month already + the quarantine where I didn't use the device up until now. I was surprised that it's up by 94% battery remaining.

Battery life is very good if you do not use the device, and I also notice that it stay almost on same % if I not use device for few days. But some users seem to be having problems with faulty battery, which I personally have not noticed so far. However, it should be noted that the Nano X can be used quite normally with a cable as well, and not only depends on its battery.

I like the concept of the Nano X, but I just don't think that in my situation, it warrants spending another ~US$140+ for "features" that I'm not sure are of any use  Undecided

I paid my Nano X about $90 at a discount of 35% which was available for last Black Friday (30% + 5% for on last day of promotion). I didn't buy it just because it has a Bluetooth or larger screen, or because it supports up to 100 apps installed at a time, but because I want to keep up with new technologies, and Bluetooth and a larger screen can sometimes be quite useful. Nano S is enough for the average user, I don't think there is any doubt about that. For those who want something new, and have no problem to pay around $100 (Ledger always has discounts), it's a logical step to invest in a new model.

Do you think its worth it if I purchase the bundle of NanoX and NanoS or just straight for NanoX? Really excited for this.  Grin

It's not a bad idea to have a spare hardware wallet, so if it's not a problem to pay a little more for both models, this might not be a bad idea. Ledger also has discounts all the time, and you can usually pay at least 20% off the price. I personally only order directly from Ledger, and this is not a problem since I live in the EU, but if there is an authorized Ledger retailer in your country, you may be able to save at least some costs (customs fees).

I wrote something about the Nano X when I bought it, you might find it helpful : Ledger Nano X - Review of the package.
10202  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: is faucethub.io scam? on: April 08, 2020, 02:03:04 PM
kitcharuk, FaucetHub has announced that it is closing at least a month before it happens - a notification was present every day on their site, and I think mex posted this in the forum : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1672870.msg53042796#msg53042796

I withdraw my coins without any problems as most of the users, and there is a big rains of BTC night before closing. This was not a scam site, but something that raised the faucets to a higher level. It is a pity that it closed because unfortunately it did not get an adequate replacement.
10203  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this A Misdirected Coin? on: April 08, 2020, 01:52:46 PM
Ordinarily, I wouldn't have minded since I ask for donations on my scam review and news site.

I visited your site out of curiosity, but did not find any address or any announcements about the donations - maybe you removed them so you don't receive any more donations?

Look at it on the positive side, maybe someone is just grateful for saving him from losing even more money. There is also an old saying : "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." Matthew 7:7
10204  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 08, 2020, 01:33:46 PM
I had no idea that this will happen today (bch halving), I think I have at least one in some wallet...Still it is nice to look at the statistics ->

10205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Addresses With 1 BTC Are On The Rise, As Bitcoin Exits Exchanges on: April 08, 2020, 01:03:10 PM
Wow...how is that possible...
Such a mystery...

Really a mystery, but some are clearly paid to analyze such things and others to write articles based on such analyzes. And even the bigger mystery is that we have one more address that has 10 000 BTC. I hope that owner does not come up with the idea of dividing it into 10 000 addresses with 1BTC - what a story that would be Roll Eyes

Quote
"Furthermore, the number of addresses with 10,000 BTC hit a six-month high on 26 March, sitting at 112, compared to 111 in October last year. According to Glassnode, the highest number ever of these wallets was 126, in June 2016 and September and October 2018"

If there is any truth in story about people pulling their coins from exchanges, that would be good news. But I believe that it is only temporary, as someone has written before, that current life needs are probably the reason for this. I would love to see how much BTC has been withdrawn from Coinbase in the last 3 months, if we know that they hold approximately 1 million of BTC in their wallets.
10206  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unverified transaction fron Electrum wallet on: April 08, 2020, 12:26:45 PM
How about Guard Provider app or any anti-virus pre-installed on your phone?

Read this article below.
- Xiaomi phones came with security flaw preinstalled

From article :

Quote
Guard Provider gets its updates through an unsecured HTTP connection, he said. This means that if an attacker was on the same Wi-Fi network as a potential victim, the hacker could insert malware in those updates through a "man-in-the-middle attack." That's when a rogue network is set up to look exactly like the one you're connected to and tricks the victim's device into connecting to the fake Wi-Fi. Using the vulnerability, a hacker could've interrupted Guard Provider's update process and added malware that would steal data, install tracking apps or plant ransomware, Makkaveev said. The attacker would have to time this to when the updates are happening and also know the file name of the update -- which is not difficult to figure out because they follow a template, said Yaniv Balmas, Check Point's head of research.

If we add to all this that Xiaomi is fix this security-flaw last year, and that OP is lives in the farm in the village, which means there probably aren't many neighbors who are capable of making man-in-the-middle attack, then such an option is not exactly the most probable reason for the loss of funds. However, this attack vector should not be neglected either, it is possible that the OP has used some public wireless network or has neighbors who are skilled in hacking.
10207  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Helperbit P2P Aid - natural disaster and bitcoin on: April 08, 2020, 10:57:26 AM
I'm sorry I didn't know about this charity before, because I would definitely send a donation. If anyone has information on some new fundraising for Italy or some other country, just post it here.

When my country was hit by an earthquake recently, Italy was the first country to send aid - which is amazing considering the situation in their country.👍🇮🇹
10208  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcointalk Charity Program Signature Campaign - Give Hope To Everyone... on: April 08, 2020, 10:44:09 AM
Nice try, but it doesn't rhyme.  Cheesy

How about this?

She went away to you
and stole a piece of me.
it's so sad, it was really new.
and after all it was free
Don't want to miss it
a nice ManzCoin lit.

I know Google translate is far from perfect translation, but I wanted other members to have a chance to read the poem. If the author agrees and if you can make a better translation, I'll be happy to edit the post Wink

I have a very close friend who started their mission to help those in my village who has no capacity to feed themselves.

If it can be organized under the current conditions, I see no reason not to help people. Given the increased price of BTC, more goods can be bought and more people will be helped. Another donation coming soon from me.
10209  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC got stolen. Once again! :/ on: April 08, 2020, 10:26:54 AM
If you are still young and got no money, that's where you go to, cracked version of Softwares, at least, that's where I started from, and I didn't know anything about hacks and BTC back then, so I have nothing to worry about...

I have to admit, that's how I started using programs, mostly looking for cracks and illegal licenses, but that has changed completely since I started using crypto. While I was using the pirated version of OS and Electrum, and some other pirated software - I have to admit that I did not sleep well, because I was always afraid of a possible hack. Then I decided to buy a hardware wallet, and use only the software I can pay for, but I'm sure it's clean and legal.

Can any of you suggest me a good seller 'that has been voucher already' for me to buy such things from them? Can I buy licences for cheap here? Had never looked marketplace for these stuffs so it may be helpful for me if you have dealt with someone who can be a life savior for me.

Each seller can be judged by their trust score and by someone who is vouched for him, although this may not always be 100% accurate, one should be cautious and preferably use an escrow. You can visit the Digital goods board, use the keywords "antivirus + antimalware" or anything else and get relevant results.

In my opinion the default Windows defender software is more than enough; and I just download the free version of Malwarebytes for the weekly malware scan.

The paid version of Malwarebytes is a far better solution and costs only a few $. Prevention should always be emphasized, because it is better to prevent a computer from becoming infected than to deal with the consequences. I suppose none of us leave the door of our home open when it going outside or overnight, because thieves will notice it and take advantage of the situation. It is the same with unprotected computer, sooner or later something will do damage, sometimes difficult to repair.
10210  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC got stolen. Once again! :/ on: April 07, 2020, 02:27:08 PM
~snip~

I must admit that you confused me with this at first  - "I was actually sick a lot" -> "I downloaded a cracked version of Quick heal Total security", but then it became clearer to me when I read the post to the end. I honestly would not expect from a member who has been in the forum for so long to make such beginner mistakes. Cracked software and crypto are by no means going with each other, and the backup should be encrypted when saved to the computer.

The next time you need a license for a program, I suggest you visit our Marketplace/Digital goods. I buy license for my security software there, at very reasonable prices. I suggest you format the disk and install a new OS - it looks like you have remote access trojan on your computer.

I hope you didn't lose a significant amount of coins, I'm sorry for your loss Sad
10211  Economy / Goods / Re: Another N95 mask post :) Carton of 3M N95/ FFP2 with valve Model 8822 to sell on: April 07, 2020, 02:06:15 PM
I gave 10 packs of masks - that I paid for - to our local hospital and I'm not expecting anything upfront from them.

I think that selling protective equipment at the moment is a very sensitive issue, and that people are quite sensitive to those who make money by selling products like this. Since you say you paid for these masks, the question is why did you buy them at all unless you wanted to make money on them?

I ordered my masks directly from China and I can say that they are still quite expensive, and the kind you sell costs about $5 apiece. However, if you do not manage to sell them all together, I would be interested in buying at least 1 or 2 packages for my personal needs - EU location.
10212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin&Altcoins - Fake Investment Products That Pollute the Environment on: April 07, 2020, 01:41:23 PM
It's always good to have some people with different opinions here, even though some of them might be trolls.
I would rather discuss with some anti-bitcoiner,rather than seeing no difference in opinions and no contradictions.
This forum shouldn't become a Bitcoin sect, where all the people see BTC as a religion and scream "Hail Bitcoin!" everyday. Grin

The user in question does not deserve any attention, much less anyone taking it seriously. Does it make sense to have a discussion with someone who is clearly suffering from some kind of psychological disorder, who expresses it in a way that opens a thread after a thread and constantly puts forward the same ideas?

Most users will disagree with you, but If you like to spending your time in pointless discussions with trolls, it may only tells something about you. For most, however, quality is not important - only the quantity of posts...
10213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin&Altcoins - Fake Investment Products That Pollute the Environment on: April 07, 2020, 11:09:09 AM
DO NOT FEED THE TROLL!

Regardless of all your arguments, the OP will never change his position, and any discussion with him is completely pointless. It is enough to look at his post history and everything will be clear.

10214  Other / Meta / Re: Forum is down? Anybody facing problem? on: April 07, 2020, 10:50:59 AM
With me, the forum works without any problems, and I check Cloudflare status page which say "No incidents reported today.". The problem seems to be only on your side, which used to happen before. You can try to restart your modem, clear DNS cache, and also browser cookies/cache.

Cloudflare has announced the maintenance for Apr 21, 21:00-22:00 UTC, so there may be minor problems that day.

Cloudflare is performing maintenance on Tuesday 21st April 2020 for a 60 minute window from 21:00 - 22:00 UTC (14:00 - 15:00 PDT). During this window, there will be a period of up to 5 minutes where operations could fail via the Cloudflare API and Dashboard while work is being carried out on the control plane and network infrastructure.

We will post an update once the maintenance is complete.
10215  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help to legitimize miner and investment on: April 07, 2020, 10:04:05 AM
People who do not understand even the most basic concepts of Bitcoin, which includes the creation of wallets, private/public keys, and that BTC mining is profitable only for big players, should not invest in anything related to crypto. Also, what to say about the state of mind of someone who believes a total stranger on social network?

Classic scam, nothing more than that.
10216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Look at the setup that is developing right now for crypto on: April 07, 2020, 09:26:56 AM
1)Market optimism is about to explode assuming we are truly moving away from Corona

If you are already writing about something, then try to at least look at the real facts. Some countries may be nearing an upward trajectory in terms of numbers of infected people, but UK&USA have yet to relive their worst moments. I do not know where in all this you find optimism regarding the recovery of global markets. If you are able to read some basic information visit the following link : https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

2) Stimulus Checks

Where, only in the USA? How positive is this for BTC or the rest of the world? Those who get $1000 are unlikely to spend it on BTC, but everyone is free to spend the money they want. However, it should be noted that many Americans will not receive these checks : https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/falling-through-cracks-many-americans-won-t-get-coronavirus-checks-n1177266

3) Halving

The only positive and sure thing that will happen next month, but if we follow the previous patterns, that perfect storm will still wait a little bit, perhaps until next year.

10217  Economy / Speculation / Re: With Effect On global economy, will Covid 19 affect expected Bitcoin Halving? on: April 06, 2020, 02:57:44 PM
Halving is a technical event first, not an economic/speculative one. The hashrate declined a bit after the crash, but nothing too big, so there's no reasons to worry - the halvening will happen within the expected period of time. If you expect it to instantly boost the price, this was never the likely scenario anyway, the halvening is always priced in long before it happens, so it was unlikely to happen even without the epidemic.

Some may think that halving will be delayed like everything else, but fortunately the virus cannot disturb such things, so BTC halving will happen exactly according to the technical specifications. Of course, it is quite another question whether this event will cause the price to rise given the current economic situation. No one can say that with certainty, but if the world manages to deal with the virus and if the economy restarts, I believe it will have a positive impact on BTC.

Some may think that the current price is low, but it was even lower last December, and I am quite pleased with how BTC is coping with this crisis. From a $4000 low to $7000+ today is only proof of resistance and many people who still believe in this project.
10218  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Withdraw funds in FIAT/crypto from Binance and convert to FIAT on: April 06, 2020, 02:19:01 PM
zypa, if you prefer PayPal maybe best option is trade your coins here on forum with some trusted members on Currency exchange board. The only question is whether it is wiser to first withdraw BTC into your personal wallet, or send it directly to the buyer from exchange.

I recently sold some BTC for PP, I can recommend this user : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5143200.0

Of course, I advise you to evaluate the risk yourself and find the best/safest way.
10219  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [WARNING]: Fake Trezor - https://login-trezor.io/ on: April 06, 2020, 02:07:12 PM
All the wisdom needed to avoid this kind of thing is that every hardware wallet user realizes that he is not typing his seed words anywhere but the device itself. Any website, extension, plugin, or person on social networking site that asks you to type in your seed is a pretty obvious sign that it's a scam.

In addition, keep legitimate web pages with your bookmarks and always access them in this way with additional verification. If you are using a search engine, avoid Google Search or use Firefox with uBlock Origin to block Google Ads.
10220  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcointalk Charity Program Signature Campaign - Give Hope To Everyone... on: April 06, 2020, 01:52:29 PM
cabalism13&crwth , unfortunately the situation is the same in most countries of the world, so if there is no other way to do some charity action, all we have to do is wait for better days.

ChefImGartenPavillion (ChiefInGardenPavilion) decided to donate his winnings (second place)

Ja, gerne!
(Here is his poem)

Very nice move, every donation means a lot, and I believe that will be used in the best possible way. Given that the poem is in German, I put the English translation (by using Google Translate).

She went away to you
and took a piece of me.
I gave it to her
of one's free will
I just have to pick it
from my soul tree.

She took it with her
who knows where.
I know for sure
you are not far
and yet disappeared forever.

Stay back there
just the picture
our beautiful children.

Now I'm looking for you
with all my heart,
restless all the time
writhing in sheer pain
and deep loneliness.

The piece
that I gave you
from my soul tree,
that was not fruit nor a leaf,
it was part of the tribe.

Now I'm watching
how he withers
it scares me
I know
that if he dies
...
i will go with him.
