10341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trading bot used by majority of people on Binance got hacked; not Binance. on: March 08, 2018, 04:59:02 PM
So it turns out that the accounts were all phished. What I don't understand is how so many accounts were able to be accessed, I would have thought that almost all accounts were protected by 2fa and this would have stopped the issue?

I think I must be missing something.

Let's wait for Binance to make a formal announcement as how the hack happened. Actually they did the suspend withdrawals right away so that they can investigate further.

Not all accounts has been phished there are reports that most users funds are still intact. And it was really the bot who exploited or probably found vulnerabilities to make a sell and convert everything to bitcoin. I'm sure Binance is doing everything right now and inform their clients about what really happened.
10342  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to handle tough times in cryptocurrency? on: March 08, 2018, 12:52:17 PM
We are indeed the tough times of trading or investment in cryptocurrency. After the ATH of Bitcoin last year, we are now at the stalemate at 10K USD mark for almost 2 weeks and no sign of going up. I was thinking to hold for as long as I can since I believe in crypto.

If you’re at the losing position what is the best thing to do?

I don't do anything. I have my money in fiat that's why I'm not bothered by wild price swings on the market. And I also invest what I can afford to lose that's why I can stay away and not be affected specially that the price is somewhat stalling at $9K-$11K.

Of course patience and time should be on your side. After the frenzy of December 2017, everyone thought that we are not going to see bitcoin failing below 4 digits. But last February we are all shocked to see it go down and just today as well. So you need not to be emotional as this stage otherwise you might be affected and finally decided to push the sell button which is not right at present situation.
10343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Walk of Shame on: March 07, 2018, 11:58:15 PM
Did anyone here have experience a walk of shame (Walking home since you have a loss all your gambling money in just one snap)? Well, It did happen to me once and I'll never do that again. It was the bad year for me (Peek of my addiction), I normally left my atm/credit card at home if I were to visit a casino and have enough money wih some changes for my stay, food, drink and my fare. The first time it happens to me is when I was so frustrated because I can't win up to point I already spent my allocated money for my fare. I was devastated that I need to go home at 3 a.m. with no money literally and I haven't got a phone in me (which make it worst). Started walking from the casino going home it was the longest walk I ever made I pity myself and upon arriving at home my wife and my kids are already awake, I just can't bare to look at them. I don't even know what to say at that point. I just walk in shame, in front of my kids.

How about you, have experienced it? We all have different interpretation on "Walk of shame".

I haven't experience it personally. But I have someone very close to said he did and he literally cries on my shoulder that time because he gambles the money that he supposed to saved in the bank. I won't get into details because it sort of personal.

Anyways, Luckily although I'm addicted gambler I still have control to at least have cab fare on me or someone to pick me up if I ended up losing everything. hehehehe.

Yes, this can be interpreted as "Walk of Shame".
10344  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we need price crashes and panic selloffs on: March 07, 2018, 11:26:22 PM
This is just a thought that occurred to me while reading some posts around here, feel free to discuss it or even criticize it. So if we want Bitcoin to rise in the future, we need it to crash first and many wannabe traders to sell off their coins at a loss when the price is low. If people don't close their positions in panic now and just wait out bad times, they simply won't let prices grow later because they will get out whenever the price rises just enough for them. But if they fix their losses, they will no longer have bitcoins to record minor profits and thus drag the price down in the future. As a consequence, the price can surge higher without a lot of selling pressure at bigger figures when the hype and buying frenzy begins anew.

The bottom line is that it is kinda required for Bitcoin to crash occasionally for the prices to rise higher eventually.

Because that's how the market works in a "speculative" environment. All is based on speculation and if there are news that will pull down the prices and you panic and sell then you are "weak", mentally. And when you sell, other's grab the opportunity to enter the picture. And the process goes on. I won't call it required, but its the process that we need to undergo to move further. Yeah, its kinda sad to hear it but that's it works, unfortunately.
10345  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another Bubble popped? on: March 07, 2018, 11:06:11 PM
So looks like another bubble has popped and BTC is taking a nosedive dropping from 11600 to 9700 a mere 1900$ in 3 days. How long does a bear market normally last? I'm expecting atleast the full year, can it take longer?

I don't consider the current spike a bubble though. It took us several days to get from $9.7 to $11.6 (probably a week or more). So its a normal price increase. Maybe people are just cashing it out simple as that. No bubble has bee burst here.

Full year? Are you kidding me? The longest bear trend that I have witness is around 3 months if I'm not mistaken. So I don't think that we will not gain any significant increase in a span of a year.

10347  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at USD20,000 on: March 04, 2018, 07:31:58 PM
What are the economic and political dynamics that can positively drive bitcoin price  to and above the critical price of USD20,000? Is this possible before the end of the first quarter of 2018?

I think its LN (Lightning Network can be implemented within this year, it can greatly impact the price in the positive way and push it to $20K again.Or unless big economic nation suddenly legalized like Japan did.

Currently, the price of bitcoin is stuck at $11K and its really hard to make a push even at $12K. Although eventually it will be shattered, but for me it will took another month to go beyond that price.
10348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: who created bitcoin? on: March 04, 2018, 08:42:53 AM
Bitcoin is the first implementation of a concept called "cryptocurrency", which was first described in 1998 by Wei Dai on the cypherpunks mailing list, suggesting the idea of a new form of money that uses cryptography to control its creation and transactions, rather than a central authority. The first Bitcoin specification and proof of concept was published in 2009 in a cryptography mailing list by Satoshi Nakamoto. Satoshi left the project in late 2010 without revealing much about himself. The community has since grown exponentially with many developers working on Bitcoin.

If you are going to look at Bitcoin Whitepaper there is a footnote pointing to the mailing list of Wei Dai. So I'm sure that Satoshi draw inspiration from him.  Here, you can read it:

https://steemit.com/satoshi/@chowfan/emails-between-wei-dai-and-satoshi-nakamoto

So I have no doubt that Satoshi is the creator of Bitcoin. But there are a lot of theories as to who the man/group of person who really is. However, Its interesting to really discover who is the real Satoshi, however, it will be good if he really remains anonymous.
10349  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-03] Mexican Cryptocurrency Regulations Approved by Congress on: March 04, 2018, 08:24:58 AM

I do welcome this very good development which has been expected to happen soon since Mexico is very much open to the idea of cryptocurrency and how they can use it to their advantage. I understand that Mexico is a big market and is just waiting to be tapped. This is a big news for many cryptocurrency lovers and supporters right there in Mexico. Right now, we are indeed advancing to a different level as many countries can be opening soon recognizing cryptocurrency as part and parcel of the many new ways that can help towards economic development.

And it looks like Mexico stance is somewhat lenient. So yes, this is really a welcoming news specially to the Mexican bitcoin community. Local exchanges will likely require KYC for AML compliant which is the norm for a regulated crypto's.

Initially though, I thought that Mexico will implement a hammer ban, but I'm glad they didn't, so this is a win for all of us. And they are what? given 1 year for exchanges to comply, that to lax to begin with. Lol. Good Job though...
10350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Virus change crypto address on: March 04, 2018, 07:28:16 AM
This should alarm everyone given the fact that this issue was discovered a few years ago but it still exist because in just a matter of manipulating someone else's bitcoin address or other crypto wallet address, they can earn lots of money continuously. The ones that do these kind of things are cyber-criminals/hackers, they are everywhere on the internet so as internet is everywhere. Be careful when copy-pasting your addresses, double-check atleast the first and last three characters before submitting. Moreover, here is what an expert in this website tells about this malware "Trojan.Coinbitclip": https://ethereumworldnews.com/careful-copying-pasting-ethereum-wallet-address/. Be attentive always. Think before you click.

Yes, it was discovered a few years ago but the virus keeps evolving and I believed that up to now there are unsuspecting victims around the globe. They are not hackers anymore. I categorized them are criminals already. They have the malicious intent to stole from us, so that already deems are criminal offense.

We need to constantly updated our anti-virus because so as not to be another victim here. And worst, lost our hard earn money. Just don't click anything you find interesting. Due diligence is needed and of course our common sense.
10351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs Ortiz on: March 04, 2018, 07:01:25 AM
What a fight. Wilder survived and almost knockout by Ortiz in the 7th. Only to comeback and knockout Ortiz in the 10th. It was a entertaining fight. It was the toughest so far from Wilder, but he came in strong and rise to the occasion.

It was really a test that Wilder passed with flying colors and silent his critics. Now it would be great to see Wilder vs AJ and see who really is the top dog of the HW division.
10352  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin and ETH trading for big profits on: March 04, 2018, 04:00:27 AM
I think we still can buy bitcoin and ethereum for now while the price is down because for ethereum, it will increase higher soon and one thing that we should know that ethereum is already reached 0.15 btc and I think it will reach more than that. we can still wait for the ethereum and bitcoin increase again so we can use this opportunity to buy bitcoin and ethereum.
By the end of the first quarter of the ongoing year common people will feel it difficult to afford. The price of Eth is found to be low compared to the peak price around $1500. Soon this could grow high crossing the past ath, which will make it highly an profiting asset for the trading purpose.

People have even higher expectation of ETH price by the end of the year with more than 2000$ and people who are holding the ETH coin will get the benefit. For people who are holding Bitcoin and bought the bitcoin in the previous dips will be profitable by the end of the year. Crypto will work to the people who have patience in terms of holding the coin for long-term.

there will be a time for ethereum to increase back and I think in this year will be a good year for ethereum although this will be a good time for bitcoin too for reaching the highest price again. and yes, many people have a higher expectation of the ethereum price and many of us still waiting the price increase higher. but to reach more than $1500, ethereum needs to stay in the market especially ethereum need to compete with bitcoin cash which is stable at that price.

Its been a good year for ethereum already. It peaked this year and reaches all-time-high. But if follow the patter of bitcoin that's why the price is way below $1K and its totally unexpected. I thought that the price could really go as high as $1500, sadly all of a sudden it crashes.

But it somewhat recovered but the mental barrier of $1K is too difficult to reach. Maybe we need some more time again to see the market "normalize" and reach $1K. I think at the end of the year we may see another all-time-high, similar to bitcoin.
10353  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2017 was maybe the last era of bitcoin? on: March 04, 2018, 03:08:03 AM
Lol. Another doomsday thread. I can't count how many threads have been made since bitcoin price is going down and predicting that it will die. Bitcoin is now above $11K so the whole argument that 2018 will the doom of bitcoin.

Clearly this is another thread to discredit bitcoin and doesn't understand that its very resilient and has been tested so many times in its young career but eventually risen from everything and the price soaring to new all-time-high.
10354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs Ortiz on: March 04, 2018, 02:37:55 AM
Wilder by KO within 4 rounds without breaking sweat. Think I actually wilp bet on that outcome. No way can Ortiz dance with The Bronze Bomber. I just want to see Joshua vs Wilder.

Both are undefeated Wilder and (39-0, 38 KOs) Ortiz (28-0, 24 KOs) so someone's 0 will be taken out of the equation when the two faces each other in the canvas.

But Wilder's power is remarkably and I don't think that Ortiz has the chance and if he was hit clean in the face then its over. But I think it will go like 6 rounds though. Ortiz will try to avoid Wilder early and might do some running. But eventually he will be caught, and then good night!!!.
10355  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin price prediction on: March 04, 2018, 02:17:17 AM
I am writing this post and present bitcoin price is 8215.03USD and maybe it goes up to 12kUSD in march. Waiting for march...

Looks like you have a crystal ball. Lol.

Its already 4th of March already and we are moving into $12K. We are somewhat hovering around $11.4-$11.5 currently so its a good sign. Just a few dollars and push and eventually we will get there.

The problem that I'm seeing is that we are somewhat struck again at this price and it there are no new blood coming it the price might go down. Let's see how it goes though but I'm still positive that we can make a final push towards $12K.
10356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does holding this coin make sense? on: March 04, 2018, 01:38:08 AM
Hello guys I bought some graft token since I found it an interesting project, but currently developers seem to be so quiet and does not answer investor concerns. Does holding this coin really make sense or I am just wasting my money?

Maybe the graft dev is doing something big in the background. Itsn't it the ICO just ended recently? So I guess there will be dumping as soon as the bounty hunters got their tokens (which usually happens).

I guess you need to weight your options here. If you think that you have gain profits already then Its time to get out and try to re-invest. But usually though, based on my experienced tokens from ICO' really do fairly well in the beginning. So if I were you, try to dump a few and then hold at least half to see how it goes for that token in the future.
10357  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Best Time To Exit Trading on: March 03, 2018, 11:26:20 PM
BUY THE RUMOURS. SELL THE NEWS (not literally)
I agree with you in this term as I have also seen this type of relation with every crypto specially when news/announcement was not big and don't have direct impact on future adoption of the coin.

News regarding partnership, roadmap, new wallet etc lies under not a big update mostly but they are strong enough to create a bull run before the actual announcement..

In addition to what you've said, the problem for traders is that they didnt know how or when to exit. Rumors and news are the sign to exit. It works for me.

Yup, specially when greed sets it. That's why it really good if you have that kind of exit strategy. So that if you have reach it, you need to get out to avoid risk of getting burn at the end.

However, when you "hope" that you can get squeeze a bit more of profit, you tend to forget your exit strategy and soon you will realized it when your coins suddenly plummeted. So instead of you gaining, you ended up on the losing end or your profit was not maximized.
10358  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is going on with this 11k ceiling on: March 03, 2018, 11:03:32 PM
Well for a day or so we have been hanging around a bit over 11k. Building a base can be a good thing, let's see what happens next

Most probably investors are also waiting to see what will be the movement after breaching $11K. At the moment it looks like it is still holding and fluctuating from $11.3-$11.4. So I'm a little bit nervous because we have seen previously that it didn't hold that much. I hope that there will be no selling for quick profits, but instead a steady growth and test if we can get to $12K and then see how it goes.
10359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The cryptocurrency as national currencies on: March 03, 2018, 10:14:03 PM
the cryptocurrencies will be the national currencies in 10 years or less

Well it could be that a government backed crypto could be a a legal tender. But I don't know if it can replaced the old and traditional fiat as national currencies. Do you think that Yen can be replaced by bitcoin in Japan? I don't think so.

There still some people (usually elderly), who still opted to used FIAT instead of crypto currencies. But it could happened in a liberal and open minded countries like Sweden or Canada or the USA.
10360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: March 03, 2018, 07:08:57 PM
~snip~
And that is not James fault either. OK for sake of argument that can't make the playoffs this season, but I'm sure James will be back again more focus and the team already adjusted to one another.
He's body is only one and even there are fans that's considering him a one man team still there are too many teams that upgraded their roster and their performance are undeniable. But isn't it too early to say that they can't make it to the playoffs? They are on #3 in the rankings while their rival Golden State Warriors is on #2 so it's not that far.
~snip~
Bu in any case, if they did make it to the playoffs someone really needs to step up the and help him out. Its a team game and he needs his new team mates to do their part as well.
Whom do you think will be the most responsible to help him out? Cavs is still a good team with a good roster, they even changed their roster and add another good player, Jordan Clarkson. Let's just stay tune for their upcoming fight against Nuggets. I'm not going to be confident with this fight to say that Cavs will win but still, I want to see the result on live TV. I can wish them a good luck though.

Speaking of Clarkson, any comments on his throwing the ball on Dario Saric at the closing seconds of their game?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plb-2fwMNaE

Is this a bitch moved out of frustrations or should Saric should let the time expires and let it go because they already won the game?
