1041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: June 30, 2023, 08:33:50 PM
The first mistake was not looking for a striker for options when Benzema couldn't play this season indirectly also made Madrid's condition a little weaker because we know Benzema is one of the players who is always the backbone, especially when dealing with goals because he is the main target but this season, he actually had a lot of problems with his body and it couldn't be denied that it was very annoying, which was unfortunate because Madrid didn't look for striker options in transfers, in fact this backfired for them.
Now Benzema is not there but I still don't see who will replace him as a pedestal whether it will only be given to Joselu and Brahim or maybe someone else who is still not available at the moment.
They are still very great and for the midfield and wings I don't doubt the abilities of Modric, Kroos, Valverde, Rodrygo or Vini but indeed when there is no targetman who fits the same vision as Benzema before then this will still be a problem for Madrid this season.
I'm also worried about that so far, obviously because Benzema was an important player for Real Madrid from 2014 to 2023. The impact of Benzema's absence on the pitch was obvious last season, we know Real Madrid struggled to win games because of difficulty scoring goals.

Then from that, last season Real Madrid had Asensio who could help Real Madrid break the deadlock every now and then. But Asensio has now also left Real Madrid. Real Madrid's foundation for next season will be Rodrygo and Vinicius, but if one of the two has to out from team due to injury, then Real Madrid will have to face big problems.

Guardiola is a master in rotating players and his strategies and tactics makes it even easier to do so. My eyes are on Chelsea next season, they are one of the teams to look out for. With Pochettino taking as manager, I would want to see how well he can utilize the players at his disposal and what tactics and formations he will be working with to get the results. I really hope they will not repeat the poor form of the just concluded season.
Not only Chelsea, Manchester United should also be considered. Manchester United is a team that has been pretty solid under Ten Hag, so you shouldn't ignore them either. I also know Chelsea are looking for a way to be in better shape, but Pochettino needs big time and support.

Chelsea could still fail if Pochettino's strategy and plans don't pan out in the first season, but they are a team looking to move forward. Apart from that, Liverpool will also try to show their class and Arsenal also look very dangerous.
1043  Economy / Economics / Re: Am I a bad person if I manage to avoid taxes? (Hypothetical question) on: June 30, 2023, 09:17:43 AM
Paying taxes is a obligation, so when you cheat with everything so you don't pay taxes, of course you run away from your responsibility even though we know the government is too greedy in managing its finances. It is not justified to run away from your responsibility to pay taxes because the tax revenue received by the government should be distributed to many other things that are in need.

In my country, I pay taxes every day indirectly to the government. Everything I buy is taxed, and I have no idea how much tax I pay the government each year. Even I have to pay taxes from trading crypto assets, regardless of whether I lose due to price volatility or profit.
1044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the best career for women on: June 30, 2023, 08:16:54 AM
I'm not sure what career you're referring to, but if you mean investing and trading then it shouldn't be a career.
Career is a job carried out by someone who occupies a certain position both in industry and in other types of work formally. Meanwhile, investors and traders are those who invest in certain assets which is their way of making money with money without having to be a job called a career.

Women can also be like most men in the crypto industry, I mean they can also make money from this industry. If a woman is smart enough and understands certain technical or expertise in the crypto industry, then they can make a career here with her expertise. Meanwhile, if they have a budget and have expertise in trading and investing, then of course they can make profit.
1045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: June 29, 2023, 07:20:26 PM
They didn't really do anything that's a huge deal, it was just something quite simple and they sold assets and that's how they spent the money and because they didn't really change much on the spending part and they kept on spending a lot by selling assets instead of trying to lower their costs, it resulted with them getting the title of course but also not have any less expense, sure getting the title means a bit of income but not a lot so it wasn't really a huge deal at all.

I believe that as long as they keep having this huge expense, they are not going to end up being any better. They need to sell some players and make some money and pay the debt, that's a must and without that they are not going anywhere. If they can do that, they can actually do better.
Barcelona's overall balance last season was €-118.50m, so of course it's a bit of a dismal run on the financial side. But in any case, Barcelona seems to have struggled to fix its financial problems even though they have so far failed to fix them.

Barcelona only had 22 players in their squad last season, but after Busquets and Alba left, Barcelona only have 20 players. Therefore, Barcelona brought in Ilkay Gundogan, which brought the total squad to 21 players, but if there are several players who come because the loan period is up, then of course the number of squad could be bigger.

Even though Barcelona has had financial problems so far, Barcelona is still a team that has a high market value compared to other La Liga teams. Barcelona is second in the ranking, while Real Madrid is first. After all, Barcelona also tends to have more local players than foreign players, it can also contribute to lowering their salaries.
1046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: June 29, 2023, 06:51:59 PM
I am not going to say Kovacic is a "bad" player obviously but he is not the superstar they were looking for. People do not realize how teams are evolving these days, look at Real Madrid, they have a team that is getting much more expensive by the day and they are looking for other superstars as well. When Madrid is discussing about Jude and Mbappe, we turn around and see City getting Kovacic.

Don't get me wrong, like I said at the start, Kovacic is alright and there is nothing wrong with him, but I was looking for someone who was a bit younger (25 or less) and potentially worth 100+ Million, like maybe Musiala, that would have been the perfect deal for them. This just feels like it lacks the hype it should be creating, he is replacing the captain after all.
I agree that Ilkay Gundogan and Mateo Kovacic are not up to par. Mateo Kovacic might be good to fill the void in Ilkay Gundogan's position, but his quality in attack is not exactly the same. You are also right, Manchester City should have bought star players who really have proven quality such as Jude Bellingham, Jamal Musiala, Declan Rice, and several other star players, but Manchester City have not managed to get one of them.

Mateo Kovacic isn't bad, of course but Manchester City should be concerned with players they can use over the long term instead of just a few seasons. Mateo Kovacic is 29 years old, he's still going strong but he doesn't seem to be contributing to the goals and assists stats of the teams he's played for.

In 2016, when I first heard about Bitcoin.

When I started reading and researching about bitcoin and its technology
In 2016, there was less noises from altcoins and altcoin forums like now. If you did your research with Internet and search engines, Bitcointalk forum would appear at top of Google Search.

It is myth if you searched on Internet and did not see Bitcointalk in the list.

You could find that site https://bitcoin.org/en/ and get the link to Bitcointalk at https://bitcoin.org/en/community

You're right, but some people might be too lazy to do some quick searches. But it's possible that the OP wasn't too interested in the discussion about bitcoin because he seemed so focused on his investment plan. After all, not everyone who invests in bitcoin uses the bitcointalk discussion forum, but they can discuss elsewhere online too.

We know bitcointalk isn't the only discussion forum about bitcoin, so it's still plausible that some of them didn't discover this forum in the early days. Unless they recommended another user here after some time.
1048  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price hitting 30k twice this year. on: June 28, 2023, 09:09:11 PM
After the spontaneous increase in the price of bitcoin some days back, I was expecting a price increase till the $35K-$40K level but it just stopped abruptly and might have reached its resistant level, if that’s the case, we won’t see any further significant rise in the price in the soonest. If the price can maintain this price level till the end of the month to mid next month, we might see it reaching the $40K price level when there’s any uptrend in the price coming after that period.
However I agree $40k is still very much achievable, but not in June but in July or so. Given that the market is currently trending sideways between $29k - $31k, then maybe $40k won't be hit too soon. There should be some corrections gracing the road, but don't think of them as thorns but rather as good support for hoping for a run higher.

We all hoped for a bullrun, but at least don't ignore the correction which you can also use for accumulation. At the moment $29k is support which has been tested a few times since the price broke $31k, but if it is strong through mid-July then about $40k could be reached.
1049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: June 28, 2023, 08:23:20 PM
Yes, you are right. Kovacic is about to become their new signing officially. He would fit the team really great after Gundogan's arrival. He can make a solid contribution to the midfield and I still wonder why Chelsea let him go in the first place. Kovacic is still 29 years old and he can play at least for a couple of years for Manchester City.
Mateo Kovacic is the ideal midfielder to replace Ilkay Gondogan for Manchester City. I agree on that, however Manchester City still need to consider a younger midfielder than Mateo Kovacic as a long-term project. It may not matter if they fail to get him in the near future, but Manchester City must do so in the middle of the season after Pep Guardiola evaluated the quality of his team.

Aside from that I didn't know De Bruyne was going to be the new captain. I think he is a great choice for this title. He has been a part of the team since the 2015/16 season and he has really been like a leader so far.
I think Kevin De Bruyne is suitable and worthy of being the captain of Manchester City next season. He is an influential player and of course Pep Guardiola would appoint him over any other player. In several matches, De Bruyne was the captain, especially when Ilkay Gundogan did not start in Manchester City's line-up.
1050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: June 28, 2023, 08:07:53 PM
Two notable transfers from Europe to the Saudi League are Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. However, these two stars joined the Saudi League towards the end of their careers. But apart from these two stars, many other European stars were offered huge sums of money to play in the Saudi League but many rejected it. For example, Lionel Messi was offered a huge amount of money by the Saudi League but Messi did not go there instead he went to the United States. On the other hand, Neymar is being offered by the Saudi League, but Neymar has clearly stated that he wants to play at the highest level of football until 2026, that is, he is not willing to leave Europe until 2026. Because some players focus on their career and not money.
There are many top European players who have agreed to join Arab clubs and this is not too surprising. The Arab Proo League has developed as a new business field for most investors, the impact is good but it can throw the transfer market into chaos. There are a lot of players who are interested in playing there because of the high wages, but sometimes they have to be realistic enough about their league ranking when they still want to play in Europe.

So far Chelsea have managed to sell some of their players to Arab clubs, and it is possible that more players will be there in each open transfer. So even if Neymar still wants to be in Europe at the moment, it is possible he will instead opt for the Arab Pro League for his footballing career.
1051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think it's still wrong selling properties for Bitcoin? on: June 27, 2023, 09:07:26 PM
I personally would not be too pushy to take this risk just to invest in bitcoin. I have a few pieces of land and some gold to use for jewelery but when I want to invest I tend to keep my budget low rather than selling other assets to get my budget together. Of course I can expect returns, but I can't take risks like this.

OP, I know you can do it especially if you can take the plunge. But imagine if you end up failing and you don't manage to get the return you should for one reason or another, are you sure you want to sell the property for investment?
1052  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: June 27, 2023, 08:38:26 PM
Luka Modric is a monument of stability. We can say that he has done the best in the position he has played for years. There is also the Ballon D'or award. I think this is enough to prove to us how loyal he is to his job and how successful he is. I'm sure he will play great matches at Real Madrid next year as well.
But I realize that Luka Modric will not be as strong and stable as last season because he is 37 years old. Luka Modric has quality, but his age has taken a toll on his form. He tires quickly and Ancelotti can't force him to play full time all season. The same goes for Toni Kroos even though he is younger than Modric.

Aurélien Tchouameni and Jude Bellingham were brought in to keep Real Madrid's midfield solid in case Kroos and Modric don't do well next season, so Ancelotti will have good options going down the line. But these two midfielders can still be expected to make a good impact in the Madrid midfield.

Regarding the current transfer market, it seems that the process of acquiring ownership of the club is one of the obstacles causing Manchester United to proceed cautiously. It is likely that they will carefully consider the players to be sold and those to be acquired in order to have a strong chance of winning the EPL title next season. It is worth noting that they have not won the EPL championship in over a decade. Hopefully, Erik Ten Hag can bring this ambition to fruition in the upcoming season.
I'm basically not very interested in the acquisition process or ongoing plans and I tend to ignore them either. Even though I hope Manchester United will win the title again, I think those expectations are too low to be true. It's hard to expect Manchester City to be knocked out of the title race every season even if they haven't started the season perfectly.

Manchester United have been good and getting better under Ten Hag, but about the title I still doubt it even though I have chosen them as title winners in the 2023-2024 season. Let's just hope my expectations are right, it's sure to be a lot of fun.

Giving opportunities and time to new players like Joselu is a very natural thing and it is also very necessary before everyone judges him when he is already at Real Madrid. Because after all Joselu's past appearances on other teams, of course it will not always be the same when he is at Real Madrid with a very different coach so that a different appearance could happen to him next season. And his assessment will be even more accurate when Joselu has been in Real Madrid for one season.
Even if you could be right, Joselu's quality can be judged because he has changed teams quite a lot during his career. Last season Joselu had 34 appearances for Espanyol in La Liga, he scored 16 goals and 2 assists last season. He's not so bad, of course, but because Joselu is 33 years old, maybe his form is unstable.

I just hope Joselu can help Real Madrid's attack line next season regardless of whether Ancelotti will give him many chances or just use him as an alternative. I'm sure Joselu is no better than Benzema, but I hope he's of some use.
1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 25, 2023, 06:43:25 PM
Harry Kane is a good player, all he needs currently is a chance to work with a trophy winning side, and it that be Manchester United? For a player that scores more than, thirty goals a single single and having Bruno Fernandez behind, United are sure kf winning the tittle.
Harry Kane will obviously improve Manchester United if he moved over there, but it does not mean they will surely win the EPL, i don't think Manchester United as a team can win the EPL next season, they still need at least another season with Erik ten Hag before they'll think of winning the title.

Look at Arsenal, they thought they were on their way to the EPL title last season, but in the most important part of the season, City showed them why they have more experience to handle the pressure of the last few weeks of the season. Right now City are just unstoppable in the Premier League and i can't see any team usurping them.
Manchester United are expected to be in tough competition for the Premier League title next season after they showed an upturn in form last season. Maybe it's not just a matter of Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle will also compete besides Manchester City. Kane would be a sensational addition to Manchester United, but Tottenham are reluctant to let him go for a relatively lower price.

I also agree that Manchester City are still unstoppable in terms of form. They are Premier League title winners 3 times in a row in the last 3 seasons, so it is really difficult to expect them to drop when their performance is very stable compared to the other 19 teams. We don't know next season, but Manchester City will start the race on pole position.
1056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: June 25, 2023, 06:24:15 PM
Manchester City, Munich, and Madrid are very strong teams. These three teams are favorites and perform well in the Champions League platform every season. But we don't know how Munich and Madrid will play next season. Their performance is likely to deteriorate. Bayern Munich did not perform well last season. Their performance was not stable. Their performances have become more erratic after the change of coach. On the other hand, Real Madrid's main striker and scorer Benzema has left the team. And unless Madrid finds a suitable replacement for Benzema, it will be difficult for them to perform consistently well.
I'm also pessimistic about Real Madrid next season, but that won't be an exaggeration. I can still hope they do well next season even if we lose Benzema, but I don't know if we will really suffer after losing him.

The fact is, Benzema is a striker that Real Madrid have relied on for many seasons. The reliance on good performances has led us to win some great titles, but of course the impact of his departure is likely to be unavoidable as long as Real Madrid do not find a suitable replacement. I know some people disagree with my assumptions, but I have what I have to say about the possibility. So when Real Madrid comes to the Champions League next season, then I know we are not a team that is more favored than other teams.
1057  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic problem, why is fiat difficult to hold. on: June 25, 2023, 06:04:01 PM
I agree, I find it hard to resist spending if I have money at hand — even tho my belly may be full, I still eat some fast food, or buy t-shirts, go to mall. When I was younger, I was better against these habits that have come upon me.

Also, I find it hard to keep track of cash purchases so have started to use online payments.
Indeed, sometimes digitalization has become a problem experienced by people without them realizing it.
I also tend to spend a lot of money online compared to physical shopping, but self-control and financial management will remain a priority for me. I'm not saying extravagance is bad for everyone, especially if they have a pretty good monthly income.

But when the level of use of money has reached 90% more than a month's salary just because of uncontrollable expenses, it is clear that we will be in financial trouble when we need urgent expenses. The thrifty mindset must be emphasized carefully, so the habit must be reduced slowly.

Leviathan.007, please don't joke. Even Barcelona can perform better than Real Madrid even though it doesn't have many high-paying players. Barcelona was more successful than Real Madrid last season, even when they were going through a financial crisis. So I never underestimate Barcelona just because they can't afford expensive players like Real Madrid did recently. After all, is Real Madrid guaranteed to be better than Barcelona next season just because it spends a lot of money to buy players?
I'm sorry but how they can perform better than Real Madrid when Xavi can't buy the players he needs for next season?
Xavi has brought in the player he needs, namely Gundogan as a replacement for Busquets. Barcelona have a good squad so far even if they don't sign expensive players like Real Madrid did. Even if Real Madrid do, they are not guaranteed to outperform Barcelona.

I'm a Real Madrid fan, but I know what to say. Real Madrid are well on their way to building their team next season and they have spent quite a lot of money on signings. But again, that doesn't guarantee anything about the performance although there is a possibility that we can perform consistently throughout next season with a better squad.

Just check the players Real Madrid is going to buy and you can understand hiring a player like Mbappe is more than a dream for any team.
If you saw the last season Barcelona had a better performance in La Liga and they won the title this can't be the reason to say they can do the same thing in the next season. The situation for these two teams is not the same at all.
Kylian Mbappé is a rumour, I don't even know if he will go to Real Madrid when his contract expires or maybe he will go with a Premier League team to compete with Haaland.

Granted, we have a more expensive squad than Barcelona, but I can't say we can do any better than they did last season. It might be ridiculous when we don't talk about Barcelona last season, it is a worthy comparison instead of speculating about what you haven't seen.
1059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: June 24, 2023, 07:50:13 PM
Next season will be a hard season for Xavi and Barcelona because they couldn't have players like Real Madrid and other teams have much better performances in the transfer window, Barcelona needs to have a young alternative player for Lewandovki and they don't have a financial situation for even think about players like Kane or Osimhen.
I think unlike what we saw this season, in the next season Real Madrid will have much more chance than Barcelona.
Leviathan.007, please don't joke. Even Barcelona can perform better than Real Madrid even though it doesn't have many high-paying players. I blame myself a lot for spending so much and being irresponsible with money, but in your opinion, do you think that the soceity is contributing to the high and many expenses making money not to stay or is it just a bad habit I have?
You just need to know what the solution is, and one of them is to limit unnecessary spending of money.
When inflation rises, you will feel the effects. Fiat loses a lot of its value and it is even more pronounced when the value of an item becomes very expensive. As the cost of living increases, lifestyle can sometimes be problematic, so cut back on anything you feel you don't really need instead of blaming someone else for how you spend your money.
