It seems alright, but we're more into doing anything, not just get naked for coins.

And I HATE reddit. So much. As soon as it linked me to reddit, I almost threw up

good man. you show promise.

1045  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BCTIP - Printable Bitcoin Tips on: May 04, 2013, 07:37:06 AM
i had an idea similar to this for helping spread the word of bitcoin.

the basis of the idea was to present people with a small amount in a physical form along with how to set up a wallet and other basic information.

New to bitcoins, but in the service industry full time. Allow me to make a few points:

* US services industry speaks Spanish, more so in positions that need tips the most
* Someone has to actually explain BTC before a person would understand what it is

I feel that there are three camps here:
* those who think that www.bctip.org is unsecure;
* those who think that tipping in bitcoins only is a bad idea;
* those who want to promote bitcoins by all means (including the topic starter).

I am none of the above. I use bitcoin as an investment, and as a medium for remittances and would never consider tipping in bitcoins, because when a bitcoin is worth a thousand dollars, I'll regret it. I know sitting on bitcoin is bad for its overall sustainability, but since I have no need for things so far being sold for bitcoins, I would let them go in only few scenarios, and tipping is not one of them.

The site is great, but in my opinion this service is an awkward way to promote bitcoins. It's not playing the bitcoin cards right. Those who want to take advantage of the bitcoin stronger side, like transfering money abroad without paying exorbitant fees, or transfering money out of countries with capital controls, will reliably learn about bitcoin through the word of mouth.

these things wouldn't be hard to translate.

once they have it, i think they would be much more likely to be invested in learning about it. the more people that have interest in bitcoin, the quicker the community grows and as such the value.

security can be upgraded and fixed if it is even an issue. we have lots of people that will "test" the security for their own interests.

of course you wouldn't tip in only btc, if anything i would tip in addition to my normal cash tip.

a lot of mexican workers are doing so that they can send money down south and or provide money or transportation to people down south. instantly transferring funds between US/MEX with no fees surely would be welcome. i am sure you have seen the "fast cash transfer" places in almost every ethnic center.

1048  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Transaction from Bitstamp not finishing on: May 03, 2013, 08:57:55 AM
I opened a support case. They quickly said that they were going to look into it but that was 10 hours ago. I have not received any news.

I think i know who is bitstamp ceo (Laszlo Kovac i think). Maybe i should PM him. I really don't know why i should be losing 500$ already by their mistake. BTC is tanking and i wanted to sell it. It is 10:43 am here and the requet was at 17.00 yesterday May 02. Many hours already.

This is the origin

https://blockchain.info/address/15QLhvU6n29ffWc9nWWQQHxqBhgNzTsN65

It says it was completed at 2013-05-02 14:46:09

This is the destination

https://blockchain.info/address/1JUK9GLxb6ASYoZEETGgcWSikS6Yz4AR72

Nothing has arrived there since past April 28th

So i think Bitstamp just failed at sending the money and it is costing me a lot of money. Although they got it right from me because in their logs they stated

May 2, 2013, 5:25 p.m.   5.135.35.227   Opened bitcoin withdrawal request for 20.13033070 BTC to 1G3Sn3xLhZti5Z786YhNdgMKXgY7AL2cNM

And that is the exact address i wanted to send to

Any help appreciated.

good luck Cheesy

Thanks to lexis200, who posted 18 Egyptian forums, then 5 Namibian forums. If weex is happy, that will net you BTC0.0575, lexis200. Keep at it, once you get a feel for what countries and topics are hot, you can hit a good streak of results!

I just put up 40 Nigerian forums to keep things moving. Need to check my list for duplicates, but it should earn me about BTC0.1.

you have a knack for this, as you live in africa and know better of what to look for ;P

it seems that gox got greedy and wouldn't provide what they could easily provide, and agreed to in the contract

hopefully this makes coins cheaper and kills gox quicker Cheesy

and asicminer ships for free and within a week from payment :-)

@75btc for 10gh

lol

though, even if bfl sat on their hands with all of the btc they got, shouldn't they be able to afford to get these units out of the door? shouldn't the chip orders be scheduled to arrive two months before?
