1041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Future speculation events that affect the Bitcoin price? on: March 14, 2017, 12:29:17 AM
Is there any future events that we know for certain that will affect the bitcoin price apart from the 2020 halving event?
Will UK Brexit affect the price?
Are there any more ETF's coming up?
When will the BU fork will happen? Will it be a soft or hard fork?
When will Segwit happen and does it have to happen this year?
What are the other events of 2017 that I haven't mentioned above that will affect the bitcoin price in anyway high or low?
1042  Economy / Exchanges / From UK, Overall cheapest places to buy bitcoins in GBP? on: March 14, 2017, 12:20:21 AM
Is it cheaper to buy bitcoins from p2p websites like localbitcoins or from online exchanges that support GBP currency?

If exchanges then which exchange is the cheapest overall when it comes to fees?

On following website:

http://bittybot.co/uk/

I can see exchanges ask price that is usually cheaper than p2p/individual websites prices however if you include fees associated with exchanges then are exchanges really reflect the cheaper price?
1043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BU (Bitcoin Unlimited) and ETF Newbie questions on: March 07, 2017, 11:54:33 PM
So which is the best update/upgrade to BTC that does not affect its decentralisation status?

1044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BU (Bitcoin Unlimited) and ETF Newbie questions on: March 07, 2017, 07:51:48 PM
So in summary from reading all these replies that BU is bad. It is bad because BU is trying to take over BTC by manipulation? So BU is not truly decentralised?

Likelihood of SEC ETF disapproval is high yeah? So if thats the case then next BTC price dip will be on the 13th March I assume.
1045  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BU (Bitcoin Unlimited) and ETF Newbie questions on: March 07, 2017, 04:54:18 PM
Is BU a new altcoin that just come out recently or is it a upgrade to the existing BTC coin network?
If upgrade then what is the differences between the 2 and the disadvantages of upgrading to BU? When will the upgrade happen?
Regarding the recent price bubble bursting is this caused by the EFT info leak or threat from BU or the chinese making a statement or anything else?
Will BU will cause confusion do adopters and Investors who want to buy BTC?
Lets say down the line in the future for example in 6 months someone might create SBU (Super Bitcoin Unlimited) and after that someone creates SBUT (Super Bitcoin Unlimited Turbo) and after that someone creates UBHD (Ultimate Bitcoin HD). Then what happens?

Update: Got a reply from Perfect Money and they said the address document that verifies the address stage of the account has to be signed and stamped as well wtf  Huh

I really doubt any bank manager let alone my bank manager will give up some of his/her time to sign and stamp a bank statement.

What to do?
1047  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Irreversible payment methods? Protection for sellers advice needed on: March 03, 2017, 11:09:19 PM
Im from UK and like to start trading on localbitcoins.com

Is direct cash deposit into a bank account reversible? Also what about cash by mail?

Is there any online payment method apart from bitcoin that is truly Irreversible?

If you are trading with people who are located from within your country why not open a bank account with the biggest and most popular bank and accept only over the counter payments that can be made by making the deposit in your bank account. I am sure branch to branch deposits are allowed in your country. All the buyer needs is your name and bank account.

I read stories on forums where direct cash bank deposits can be reversed.

The buyer could say he was forced into making the deposit and hence the bank can reverse it for the buyer.

Then it would be a good thing to ask your bank, that has the account intended for your Bitcoin trades, if they do allow the reversal of over the counter deposits. As far as I know they are not allowed because that raises a lot of opportunities for fraudulent behavior.

Banks in UK are not bitcoin friendly. Any other suggestions?

are okpay, lavapay, perfectmoney really irreversible? Even if it was a fraudulent transfer?

But I'm 99% sure, that if you receive alot of fraudulent transfers, your account gets closed.

Yeah looking at that link list and seeing the ones that score 10 which are the best that I have noticed:

- LavaPay

- OKPay

- Perfect Money

- Webmoney

Which one is the best overall? Do these service providers freeze customer accounts? Can you sweep these accounts (withdrawing to bank account) straight away after the buyer has paid?

What about Western Union, how easy is it to stop a transfer for their 'Money in Minutes' transfer service?

I have used all three payment methods and all of them are irreversible. They have no chargeback option and hence if any user needs to get their money back, they would need to go to court which would not be feasible for scammers. Lavapay is not exactly a payment method but it is a wallet which lets you accept cash or deposit cash and then you can withdraw via bitcoins/perfect money and so on. It takes 1 working day while perfect money and okpay are payment methods. Same goes for webmoney.

WU is link sending bank cash and it can be reversed or stopped by the sender. Localbitcoins is not a trusted place to deal with any reversible payment modes that involve the bank.

Ok you men that Lavapay converts the fiat cash into bitcoins/perfect money that is available to withdraw in 1 day?

What about Western Union sender original source of funds is from credit/debit card or cash at a Western Union agent, are these reversible?

perfect money is not good, because if you want to exchange youre local bank
or youe exchange the real fiat money is need exchanger

So you saying perfect money does not do fiat currencies and is not compatible with bank accounts?

1056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / ETF dates, price speculation, advice required on: February 25, 2017, 04:29:09 PM
Hi all,

I'm new here and new to Bitcoin so I like to apologise in advance for asking newbie questions that may be already answered before. Yeah we all start off crawling before walking Cheesy

So are there 3 ETF dates? I understand 1 of them is on March 11th in a couple of weeks that is a COIN ETF. What dates are the other 2?

What is a COIN ETF?

If ETF is approved on March 11th then does that mean Bitcoin can register on the famous financial markets such as FTSE, Dow Jones etc?

Will bitcoin reach its highest price on March 10th or will the Chinese do some market manipulation before that date to crash the price so they buy cheap and sell high after the ETF is approved?

What happens if ETF is disapproved on March 11th, does that mean there will be a genuine price crash?

Thanks,
