1041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should people use Bitcoin? on: August 04, 2017, 06:21:13 AM
I thought of some more good points why we should use bitcoin: hackers and thieves can’t steal your payment information from merchants if you are paying with bitcoin and use it for their advantage.
And unlike credit cards bitcoin is private, for example: your wife won't find out that you bought her present after seeing your bitcoin transaction, but could easy tell after seeing your credit card history...
People should use Bitcoin because it is convenient, especially for business people and people who like to travel. In addition, investing in bitcoins also helps many get rich quick.

The only problem is the limited shopping possibilities. In the shop or will we buy BTC for shopping?
1042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should people use Bitcoin? on: August 03, 2017, 08:47:12 PM
Bitcoin is the future of money, or so they say.

I would like to hear your opinions on Why should people use Bitcoin?

For me the top 3 reasons why you and I should use Bitcoin are:
1. Private and fast transactions.
2. No Taxes to pay and the government has no hold on your account.
3. Prices can go up after many years.

You will not agree with item 2. In Poland after BTC exchange for money you have to pay tax although BTC is not the official currency. Paradox Sad.
1043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cash is better than Bitcoin. on: August 03, 2017, 07:08:06 AM
The main advantage of Bitcoin Cash compared to the old bitcoin is that it is cheaper and transactions in its block are faster. Nevertheless, as noted technical director of the Internet exchange cantor Ripple Stefan Thomas, the problems that led to the division of bitcoin have not been resolved.
1044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be used to support terrorists? on: August 03, 2017, 06:34:54 AM
On March 8th, Cheollima Civil Defense(CCD) released a video on its website claiming:” Han Sol, the son of Kim Jong Nam, and two other family members were met quickly and relocated to safety. “ And they receive bitcoin for financial support. http://news.8btc.com/bitcoin-plays-a-role-in-humanitarian-assistance This is something nice to do. But what if bitcoin be used to support some bad organizations, even terrorists? Is this already happening?  What i am worrying is if bitcoin be widely used for bad things, negative news would be all over and bitcoin price will drop. It will lead to tougher regulation. Do u think world leaders are willing to kill btc to make sure they can fight terrirists?

I knows the story of a thief who turns all stolen money into BTC. He was caught and he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Police not were able to recover money. The guy will serve 10 years and then he will be a millionaire for the rest of his life. Where money is there and evil. It will always be. Unfortunately, it is natural.
1045  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin ending up like Yahoo in the future? on: August 03, 2017, 06:24:19 AM
Yahoo was the first (?) search engine at the time when Internet started.  It was the pioneer in its field.  In the late 90's its market cap reached to a high closed to $120B.   Three and a half years after Yahoo started, Google came out and gradually took away market share from Yahoo.

After 22 years, Verizon bought it for $4.8B.  Would Bitcoin ending up like Yahoo in the future and got beat up by new competitions?

What do you think?  Please provide your reason(s) to support your view.

Yahoo was neglected. In Poland, yahoo has never been popular, even in the beginning. Potential damage. BTC is very long in 1 place. Just look at the price. Total Market Cap: BTC = $ 44,385,969,960 and ETH = $ 20,232,690,613
1046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do I make sure to not lose $ value in BTC? on: August 01, 2017, 08:14:31 PM
You can change your bitcoin to the dollar first (if the price is high), and when the price is low you can go back to buy bitcoin, and sell it at a higher price

Exactly. We must constantly check the price and buy when there is a good opportunity. July 16 price of 1 BTC = 1800 USD. Now 2750 USD.
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So Bitcoin vs Bitcoin Cash? on: August 01, 2017, 06:45:50 PM
The planned hardfork is an expression of a lack of compromise between proponents of different ways to increase network bandwidth. In this situation, two "competing" crypto will be created: BTC, Bitcoin and BCC - Bitcoin Cash. The most important BCC technical assumptions are to increase the block size limit to 8 MB, and reject the Segregated Witness idea, which, according to BCC supporters, unnecessarily complicates the network protocol.
1048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitmain Cash was stillborn. (ITS DEAD!) on: August 01, 2017, 06:41:42 PM
not really a fork...

more like a spoon  Grin

We have August 1 and so far BCC actually silence.12:20 UTC -> After this hour the first block of BCC was to be excavated. Did this happen? No.
1049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: July 29, 2017, 08:10:47 AM
Bitcoin is difficult to explain. I also felt difficulties in understanding bitcoin for the firs time. Let's share how to explain bitcoin to children of teenagers. In My country I can say 98% children don't know bitcoin. In fact, bitcoin can be future money. If the children not familiar with cryptocurrency or bitcoin, how can they face the digital era in the future.

It's good to hear a suggestions to teach our children about bitcoin. I think the first thing to do is let them solve captcha after they accompished the offer. Give them Bitcoin wallet with payment, let it this be their savings. I know they will be curious about it and ask more of it.

I do not know if that's a good idea. When you explain to your teens what is BTC. He will want to buy something than keep the BTC for the future. It can be good or bad. Depends on the person.
1050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is instant way to get rich ? on: July 29, 2017, 07:02:40 AM
For those very early adopters and for a few who are clever at trading altcoins, then getting rich fairly fast, like in one to three years is a possibility, but for the rest who work diligently, they can perhaps make a living out of it and even be comfortable enough to make some savings. Those who say bought ETH, or STRATIS or DASH say very cheap or mined it, they too can be very rich and wealthy, some are millionaires, so yes it is possible in a short time span to get rich if you are in the right place at the right time.  Smiley

Yes, but to achieve this you have to invest money. Without this there is no chance of fast riches. Participation in campaigns or mining is time consuming.
1051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is amazing. But... on: July 29, 2017, 06:56:25 AM
Someday sooner or later, If the chinese goverment blocked the Internet access to the whole world,
What can we do?

Do we have any availible plan to protect the great-BTC-chain?

How would they do that? I doubt China will have the opportunity to block this. The second thing. BTC many people keep wallet offline. Only buying and selling will be difficult.
1052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POLL: What to do with 5000 USD today, one day before August 1st ?! on: July 29, 2017, 06:50:38 AM
I would go for no 1 to be honest which is your safest bet, then you can go alt shopping. I can't upload any BTC to any exchanges now till after the fork issue resolves so just got BTC sitting but I believe even if there is a short dip in BTC price when everyone goes alt shopping after the fork, BTC will go up as there will be another alt sell off for those who want to take quick profits. The exchanges have proliferated with day traders, I prefer to just sit back and ride the waves for long term dues and appreciation.  Grin

I also think that keeping BTC in this situation is the most reasonable. Many times the BTC has dropped and rises. In this situation will be similar.
1053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is instant way to get rich ? on: July 23, 2017, 08:15:29 PM
If you bought BTC when it cost $ 200 and sell now, it's easy to get rich. On the other hand, if you want to buy BTC now, you have to have a lot of money to invest and watch to avoid losing.

Exactly, I.think only early adopters got realy rich. Today it's not so easy anymore. You have to be a hell of the trader, very skilled and experienced, have a bit luck too and you probably only have decent profit. I don't beleive in instant profit anyway, lik they say easy come, easy go.

Now it's just hard work on earning altcoins and exchanging on BTC. We will see what will be after 1 August. Maybe it will be good time to buy BTC.

1056  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin value prediction end of July on: July 23, 2017, 09:59:21 AM
The question of what will be the price after the first August. Will the BTC not begin to fall sharply as on July 16?
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crime funded by bitcoin on: July 23, 2017, 09:39:10 AM
Where good and evil are. People will look for a way to quickly enrich and maintain wealth. Especially the wealth collected illegally. BTC is an solution in crime Sad.
1058  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you give bitcoin as a wedding gift? on: July 21, 2017, 08:10:38 PM
1 BTC as a wedding gift? The fact that a lot of money is a good start to life + may help young couple in the investment Smiley.
1059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crime funded by bitcoin on: July 21, 2017, 08:04:45 PM
Since Bitcoin was ever released, I've thought of the possibility of this. Will crimes be easily funded now due to bitcoin and it's anonymity? How do you think the authorities will combat this? Will this lead to a decline in the price of bitcoin? I've had this on my mind for a while now and I would like to hear your guys opinions.
I think this is one of the most started topic in this forum.Lets say that bitcoin is not anonymous,it has an open ledger and how could that be anonymous and every transaction is lodged in the public ledger,it is easier for the authorities to catch the culprits ,see for example how FBI caught  ‎Ross William Ulbricht‎ who ran silk road and confiscated all of his earnings in bitcoin.

I knows the story of a thief who turns all stolen money into BTC. He was caught and he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Police not were able to recover money. The guy will serve 10 years and then he will be a millionaire for the rest of his life. What do you think about that?
1060  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin value prediction end of July on: July 21, 2017, 06:46:04 PM
July 16 price BTC = $ 1860, a week later the price is higher by $ 800. Everyone assumed the worst. BTC was expected to fall to $ 1,200. As you can see, BTC is good at it. The price will remain at $ 3000.
