10401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Goes Back Below 10K USD on: February 22, 2018, 06:24:21 PM
What do you guys think? Are we going back to 6K or will it go up again, with this beeing just a healty dip?

https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-drops-below-10k-as-crypto-markets-dip/

I really don't know what really happened today. Its seems that we are enjoying a good price rally and peaked at around $11700 when suddenly the price goes below $10K again. I haven't yet search though as to what is the main reason.

Well if the price goes below $6K again, then its a good buying opportunity once more. But if not then this is another correction that we are seeing. We have witnessed this before so I'm already immune and won't do any panic selling. It's part of the market so I guess there's nothing we can do but to wait for another bounce in the next couple of days.
10402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale for win, my own experience on: February 22, 2018, 05:49:31 PM
Of course any system will make you win, but in the long run you will lose everything eventually. I applied martingale to baccarat though, but I only rolled up to 3-4 streak and after that I will just stop using that system because there's a big risk as you go along. I'm happy with that streak of mine and will just go home and quit early while I was still on top. Gooduck to you though, and please don't be greedy exit early while the Martingale strategy works on you.
10403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: February 21, 2018, 06:32:23 PM
We can easily predict the champion for this year. That will be the Golden State Warriors. The only thing that can beat them for now are injuries. If one of the BIG 4 goes down (Steph,Klay,Draymond,Durant), I think the other team has a better chance of winning. Once they pass Houston in the playoffs the only question now is who will be their contenders for the 2018 NBA Finals. Probably the Cavs or Boston. Any of the two looks exciting but we all know the results. GSW will win the finals again. Im a Cavs fan btw. So no bias on this post.

No bias? But you said it will be an easy win for the Golden State Warriors? lol.

There is no easy road to finals. Don't underestimate other teams. Golden State Warriors really has a high chance of getting the championship but I will not take it as an easy one. Just because they are perfect like you are describing them means the road for them is not that difficulty. Even a die hard GSW fan will not have a statement like that.

lol. Looks like he's really confident that GSW is going to win the crown for this year. I agree its not gonna be easy, a lot of teams have upgraded and are doing good like Houston. The Rockets is just one team that can compete and give them hard time but I'm sure that it going to be tough. 2015-2016 was a sure win for them of 73-9 record in regular seasons, and up 3-1 in the finals against the Cavs. But they eventually lost. So we cannot say for certain who will win this year.
10404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin on: February 21, 2018, 06:18:48 PM
what is lightning network and nodes? keep hearing bitcoin needs to adopt lightning?

Lightning Network's Whitepaper:

https://lightning.network/lightning-network-paper.pdf

I suggest you read all about it and try to understand the underlying reason why its a good option for bitcoin to adapt. Specially the scaling issue that been the ongoing issue for more than 2 years now.
10405  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price stabilizes? on: February 20, 2018, 09:07:23 PM
right you are. Popularity of the crypto creates a bigger demand on it. Currently Bitcoin will show its extremely volatile nature partially because it is not accepted as a medium of exchange by the  majority people in the world. But I do believe its  popularity in public will also increase during the whole pumping period. This will make a more stable demand  in btc.

No. Bitcoin price will never stabilizes and the more demand the higher the price fluctuates. That's why it was never accepted by most merchants anyways, because of its price volatility.

Well we should look at the bright side of its volatility. Traders exploit it and make money by day trading. And we have to accept that volatility is one nature of bitcoin. As much as we want to see it becoming a mode of payment, it will never be because its very unstable.
10406  Economy / Economics / Re: Vitalik Buterin sold himself on: February 20, 2018, 08:10:15 PM
How is that selling himself?

He's completely right when stating that cryptos are not the safest asset. He didn't say that you should invest in traditional assets either. He just made the objective observation that cryptos are extremely volatile shorts and risky longs. It would be utterly retarded to bet your whole life savings on crypto unless you could easily recoup the losses.
People who bought at the 20k ATH of Bitcoin by taking up a mortgage on their house found themselves on the streets when the price retraced down to 6k.

He's basically just noting (correctly) that people should be very careful with crypto investments.

100% agree with you mate. He is just trying to be objective and honest here. He understands what diversification really means. Do not put all your investment in crypto, but at least have plan B, like mutual bonds stocks or other government backed assets.

Those who put all their investments on crypto last December already got burned. They sold their bitcoins already and are not out of ammunition and yes, maybe they are not beggars on the street. Just sad that they didn't know how to diversify and put everything in one basket.
10407  Economy / Speculation / Re: Holding will be a risk or not?? on: February 20, 2018, 07:07:56 PM
Do you think that this year will only have moderate BTC growth? 2017 was an anamoly?

Government stepping in will always be there. But as far as effects on the price, yes it will but for the short term only. Go back in September, the last big crash prior to the January dip. It was the time when China sudden turn its back to bitcoin, we suffered a downtrend but we are able to recover and hits all-time-high last December.

So the effect is only short term, bitcoin is resilient to such attacks or downtrend. It has the capability to bounce back and rebound and go even further than previous high.
10408  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prices are rising on: February 18, 2018, 10:49:43 PM
With the current rise in bitcoin prices there may have been a lot of profit with bitcoin purchases at around 80 million, do you still hold or sell them today?

Looks like its a good selling point since touching above $11K yesterday. And may that what's happening lately as the price pullback to $10K-$18xx range. Well you can blame them, those who bought it at $6K is making good profits since yesterday.

But I prefer to just Hodl. Never crossed my mind to sell at $113xx eventhough I can make gains already. I'm expecting that the price ca go even further. Lets see how it goes but I'm optimistic that $12K can be broken this month.

This community is the number 1 source to get your ICO's good traffic. And then you can checked this link for more

https://www.coindesk.com/the-ultimate-list-of-resources-for-researching-and-launching-icos/

Our forum was listed in that article in the #2 spot but I I think it should be #1.

Goodluck promoting your ICO though.
10411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC is dead. The plan is a shift to Bitcoin Cash. on: February 18, 2018, 01:22:25 AM
There are no big differences between bitcoincash and bitcoin. so if bitcoin kills, higher quality projects such as ethereum rise to first place.
There are huge differences... BCash is the tool of a criminal who doesn't mind using lies, propaganda and other illegal tactics to try and increase his wealth.

And if I may add, Bitcoin has the full backing of many investors and this community. So I guess that enough to say that they have difference. The support for bitcoin is overwhelming, but bitcoin cash has to react lies, and spread fears against bitcoin so that people will shift to them. Sadly though its not happening that's why that so called flippening didn't materialized but instead they sunk deeper.
10412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 18, 2018, 12:58:47 AM
Congratulations to the great Roger Federer on creating history by becoming the oldest player to become No.1 Smiley (Breaking Agassi record ) . I doubt that he will finish the year end as no.1 though as  he might skip the clay season but its such a great achievement. What a time to live.
Seriously maintaining form and becoming number one in Tennis game that too in this age it is great and unbelievable congratulation Federer. we are just at the beginning of 2018 so for me also it's doubtful that he can maintain his position throughout the year. no words to say about his achievement.
H e has done very well and despite his age he is really playing and even outplaying who are way younger than him and by setting this record, I am sure he wouldn't really mind if he doesn't end the year as the World Number One.

I think getting to number one is his main goal this year. And since he has met it already, I'm sure that we will not push his body just to maintain the position. Its gonna be high risk for him, probably he might go back and choose the tournament that he will be entering. Its gonna be hard to maintain number one, he has achieved so much in the sports and that its gonna be hard to duplicate was he has done.
10413  Economy / Economics / Re: Anonymous trader buys $400 million in bitcoin on: February 18, 2018, 12:30:41 AM
Probably anyone who has a lot of money to burn. I also doubt that its Jamie Dimon himself. It could be a person or group of persons joining their funds together to push the market today.

I'm not sure about insider trading though. Everything is based on speculation so I conclude that there's no one that will come some things ahead of time. He/She/They maybe trusted bitcoin so much that he/she/they put so much money in the ecosystem right now.
10414  Economy / Speculation / Re: Panic sellers are once again hating themselves on: February 17, 2018, 11:59:26 PM
Of course, they will be unhappy with the fact that they hurried and sold at a low price, working in this area should expect and the rise and fall of prices

We all know that sooner or later bitcoin will bounce back, I don't know what's wrong with this panic sellers. They seems not learning from past experience of many of us here. We have been calling them not to sell, but eventually did and now bitcoin has recovered, who are they going to blame? No one but themselves.

Its really a expensive lessons to learn here, I hope that those who are reading this thread wouldn't fall on the path as the panic sellers who now lost their investment because of their dumbness.
10415  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC right now on: February 17, 2018, 11:44:04 PM
Just passed $11k!

This is really remarkable. We have been waiting for bitcoin to bounce back after a hellish and bearish January. So all can now breathe a sigh of relief because we are witnessing another bull run.

Now, what will be our next target? 15K? lol. I'm glad that I didn't panic and just hold on my coins because I have no doubt that it will recover and now we are all a witness to its epic comeback.
10416  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: HitBTC scam! on: February 17, 2018, 11:21:04 PM
A month ago I had some problems with my withdrawals, didn't went through for some reason, but got fixed on it self.
I have had a support ticket opened back then, and believe it or not, I just got a reply!
After more than a month.

I have the same problem as yours, my withdrawals didn't went through and then I have to call the attention of their support and says that they are going to look at it but it took them 3 weeks to finally send me the funds in my wallets which I lost substantial amount already because I wasn't able to trade in it time.

I'm really disappointed that's why I took everything and try other exchanges. Bad experience for me.
10417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Relationships! on: February 17, 2018, 10:59:39 PM
About relationships... you just need to explain to your partner what is variance, short-term results and long-terms result.

Then when she/he sees the amount of money you are making over a long run, the problem is auto solved Smiley

Easy said that done. What if your partner didn't understand gambling? He/She doesn't even know how to bet. Well, we all know that in the long run, we will eventually lose so I don't think that its a viable explanation.

It's either he/she joins you in gambling, otherwise we need to adjust like quitting for the sake of your relationship. You have to decide what's important and prioritized things in life.
10418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: February 17, 2018, 10:39:17 PM
For me, in the West, I think Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder have the shot in the Western Conference to dethrone the Defending Champs because the Housten Rockets depth especially now with Joe Johnson added have a chance to fight against the Warriors as for Oklahoma City with much more game remaining before the postseason if the Chemistry of their big three goes so well GSW will be find it hard to beat them.
Yeah the Golden State Warriors are going to have it tough when they face the likes of the Rockets and OKC Thunder in the playoffs and am very certain that they are not going to make it at all when to even claim the conference championship.

I agree with the both of you. Those teams have put up a solid team this year and it will make a big difference to challenge GSW in the West. Right now we are seeing that GSW is somewhat inconsistent.

As for the East, Toronto and Boston to challenge Cavs. Its gonna be exciting to see how everything will progress after the all star break because we are getting closer to the playoffs.
10419  Economy / Speculation / Re: Any predictions for next few days on: February 17, 2018, 12:02:32 AM
Sorry.  I thought I got the right board for predictions or speculations.  I apologise.

You did, but try in the future to at least offer some reasoning.

I think the price will stay around 10-11k over the weekend before moving through to 12-13k in the next week. The recovery seems fairly solid and we haven't experienced many dips on the way up, some alts seem to be recovering now too and I get the impression some money and confidence is returning to the market.

Exactly, I don't know why people here still predicts bitcoin to go down. Haven't you guys seen that the market is already bounce back and now you predict that it will go down again? But if the price has gone down, you all bitcoin about how bitcoin is dying and everything.

I'm pretty sure that you are trolling here. Because it doesn't make sense that you are predicting a price that we all know is not going to be touch as the price is started to pick up once again.
10420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel like your friends who don't own crypto want you to fail? on: February 16, 2018, 11:37:18 PM
Yes, I can feel you. The one that told and mentor me about bitcoin is not envious about me because I'm earning way above from him. I just talk to him last night, and I can feel some animosity in his tone. So I stop talking and just listen as to how much he is earning from his mining and trading. And he also brought up something like those who he help in the beginning (like me), is not asking questions to him but all of them are reaching to me. So I really don't know what to do then.
