10561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be dethroned? on: December 30, 2017, 06:33:35 AM
The current rise of Ripple is quite significant, at market cap Ethereum the long standing 2nd is way below Ripple now and its still going very strong.
I personally know many people who want to get into crypto are getting in via Ripple only.
So I know its a big IF but, if this trend keeps going, can it even surpass bitcoin?

Is bitcoin in danged or being dethroned as No. 1 at coin market cap?

I think by now that you have understand that marketcap is less significant right? And most of the time its fake and very misleading specially if you are a newbie:

Market cap = price x total coins in circulation.

So if newbies that are getting into crypto and getting in XRP will come face to face with a rude awakening. Once the pump on XRP is burst, they will be trap and one way to get out is to incurred losses on your end. And do you think that XRP has the capability to sustained that growth?

I wouldn't be bothered by the rising price of XRP, sooner or later it will crash and bitcoin will remain the no. 1 crypto.
10562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2018 is coming on: December 30, 2017, 06:12:13 AM
What do you think to the bitcoin prices in 2018? It will continue increasing up or continue declining down?

Like most of us here, we want bitcoin to really go up in 2018, But with the current issues that we are facing, it will take a lot of time before it can really took off again. Specially if LN will be implemented to resolved the problems.

If increasing up, what value do you expect? Same if it is declining down?

I'd like to see the price goes to $30K-$40K. There will be a lot of bumps along the way, just like we see in 2017. Nevertheless, it will rise up again and face those challenges and overcome it at the end, reaching $40K. So everyone, just better hold and invest on it while the price is still cheap at the moment.
10563  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's happening to Bitcoin? on: December 30, 2017, 05:52:57 AM
I was wondering what was happening to bitcoin myself. It felt like just yesterday it was breaking the ATH of 1,000 and then it hit 2,000, and 4,000. I figured that was the end of the run. Then it hit 8,000. Ok now it's risen as much as the early 2013 bubble. It HAS to end now. But then it keeps rising, way past that. Now coins are worth $13,500. Woah. What's up with that? That's way too much. It's gotta correct.

How time flies, beginning of the year bitcoin is just $700 then it reaches $19K, then it plummeted in $13K. That's the nature of this market. Very volatile and unpredictable. People cash out take profit and that's it. I guess by now you should understand how the market works and it will not go upward everything. Most of the time is will go on a sideward and downward trend.

You will hear people advising you to HOLD. Because of this very reason. HOLD and never sell because bitcoin is for long term investment. If you see prices going down and sell, then you will lose a  lot of potential profit in the future.
10564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on future of Ripple XRP ? on: December 29, 2017, 11:59:17 PM
Short-term yes you will make money. Long-term not a good pick. Unless you want banks to run the crypto game aswell.

I would have to agree. I tend to believed that this is a pump that we are seeing and nothing more. It will be dump later, but I think it will hold its position on top. To be honest, I regretting dumping my XRP earlier, been holding it for months but I lost my faith on it but now its been pumped so hard, I could have really profit if I stay a little longer though.

guys seriously... take a look at market cap and you will see that most of money that's been pumped into ripple now is from BTC .... there is no fresh new money... 80% of ripples market cap is coming from BTC... I believe at this moment that this is more FOMO then anything else... I bought in on stellar today and had about same % increase as ripple... If you are already invested good for you ... for new investors be very very careful... someone's gotta stay behind and take the bill... just be very careful.

This is also my thought, maybe pump-and-dump groups suddenly decides to choose XRP and to take short term profit. After all of this pump, they will simply go back to bitcoin market again. I hope you guys don't fall for the trap and can't exit on time.
10565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where and which part of day do you gamble? on: December 29, 2017, 11:20:06 PM
for me the typical time to gamble around 12pm to 4pm it is less hectic and more convenient with if I happen to have a struggle time doing some bet that would be around 12am and so. it less more creepy and the ppl also are creepy. Cry
Seriously you gamble at those times? I don't have a certain time range of when to gamble.

I just gamble whenever I want and I think there's a need of doing it so. Mostly I only gamble when I'm bored and want to have some fun.
I also even don't make any particular time to play gamble. whenever I get bored I will spend few minutes and play some casino games. sports betting depends on game and teams if my fav teams are playing I will take time and place my bet and I usually check it evening time.

Correct, it doesn't really matter what time of the day I gamble. But usually it's like early morning for me specially if I go out and play with my friends in a land based casinos. Like 12 - 4:00 am and we just enjoy after a drinking and partying. But If I going to play alone, I go afternoon so that I can go home early.

And when it's online gambling, no particular time as well. Although I want to play online gambling when I want to just past some time or if I'm not that sleepy. I will just spend around 30 minutes to 1 hour and try my luck.
10566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Frustrations: Losing Streak on: December 29, 2017, 11:00:10 PM
I know that every one of us had this day when we all thought that it's our day but it's not. I myself honestly say that there are still times that I lose control of everything when this happens, I tend to get frustrated immediately (especially when it comes to poker) when I know that I have a losing card. It makes my day from bad to worst. How do you handle your frustrations when losing streak strikes?

Most of the times when I lost control of my gambling. I can't do anything because its really one of the hardest emotions to control. And just most of the gamblers, I went all in or nothing. There are times that it will end on my favor, but most of the time I end up losing more. And as per my experience, if I tend to control my emotions, I will just walk out and think that there are really a lot of time that I can chase my lost.

Though before I've reached a point in where I'll be having a thought of chasing my loses, I'll leave the table and look for a dessert or sometimes when I bring my car, there's a clothing that I can rip just to let my frustrations out. (It may sound absurd but it really works for me, after that my mind is clear, no frustrations then I'll go back and finish my visit)

That's going overboard I think. Would just simply walk out and just play the scenario on my mind and think that I should not do that the next time I play again. Chasing losses for me is not a good thing, just go away and comeback next day.
10567  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late, to invest? on: December 29, 2017, 10:45:15 PM
Hey guys.

Newbie to the forum here... :3

I've been wanting to invest in Bitcoin since the 3k$ mark. But I just haven't had the time, yes I know it was a big mistake waiting...
But I have about 4000$ to invest into Bitcoin (It's currently sitting with shares, will take a few days to pull out), I was wondering is it too late to invest it? Will it still grow? Will we see a big drop/crash soon?
My shares barely profit, if I make a few $$,$$$'s from Bitcoin, I would be more than happy since it would be doing better than my shares my advisor put me on.

I'm happy with Bitcoin, alt coins are too unstable for me in my opinion, and they have a much higher risk than Bitcoin.
Is it too late to invest?

Crypto investment is better when you diversify your portfolio. It's never to late because every crypto has its day. Bitcoin has a good future, however altcoins are simple presentations on how far the blockchain can go

As far as bitcoin is concern,  its absolute to put investment in it because you can really get profit from it. Although, sometimes a investors would always in a nervous state when the price is going  down. LOL. That's why you will heard that  people panic and weak hands have been shaken, because they easily sold their coins. They don't look on it at long term. So its not really too late to buy bitcoin, however, you should be here for the long haul.

Altcoins is good as well specially for day trading. So much movement that if you got lucky, you can earn huge profit in a short amount of time. And I agree that you have to diversify so that you can something to fall in terms of your investment.
10568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: losing 50 bitcoins gambling on: December 29, 2017, 07:30:35 AM
If I lost 50 BTC at the market price now, I will feel very bad. This is my salary for many years and I could have buy a nice house for my family.
Indeed, this is a lot of money right now. However, there are millionaires out there that can really lose this much money in one bet without even hurting their pockets. I guess these are the inequalities of life we could say. Some just has so much money compared to others and we can't really do anything about it but to tax them and redistribute wealth (as the governments would put it, which I don't think really works since there are still a lot of poor people).

For me, losing that big amount of bitcoin, I will feel very bad as well. But I can't blame anyone but myself. You decided to risk everything and that's what you get. As a fellow gambler, I would understand everything, as compare to people who don't understand gamblers mindset. Its all or nothing. Its the risk that every gambler has to make. But what if he goes to win another 50 bitcoin? What will be our reaction then?

And for those who are not ready to take such risk, then I will tell you that don't deal with gambling. I myself have lost tons of money in gambling, but its my choice and I have to deal with it personally.
10569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can ETH reach BTC value ? on: December 29, 2017, 07:06:13 AM
NO. ETH will not ever reach bitcoin in value. Bitcoin has already established itself and no one can really challenge it because there's so much at stake right now. Early adopters will not simply dump their coins and go to ETH, as well as others who have been in the bitcoin market for quite sometime now. And they have different set of followers, bitcoin being as investment platform, and ETH for its smart contract. Who do you did will pour more cash in the market?

ETH will be the top altcoins, but to challenge bitcoin to be the king of crypto is far fetch. For now, its better to take advantage of both since they really work hand in hand. Better to invest on both of them.
10570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who’s Satoshi Nakamoto? on: December 29, 2017, 07:01:23 AM
We will never really know who is the real person/group behind bitcoin. I believed that Satoshi Nakamoto is not just one person, he maybe a group of person who really work together to put up bitcoin. But as far as identifying he/them, it gonna be next to impossible as bitcoin has been with us for almost a decade now and no one still claims it or even discovered who the real Satoshi is.

There's a lot of individual who claim that they are indeed Satoshi, but looking closer, they can't even show proof of anything or whatsoever. So let's just put everything to rest and just enjoy their creation.
10571  Economy / Economics / Re: question about transaction fees... on: December 27, 2017, 05:18:38 PM
I have like 200 $ in bitcoin on ANX. I wanted to transfer that to Binance exhange and I saw that if I wanted to I could only send like 140. Is the transaction fee really 60$ to send coin on bitcoin now? Or this is something ANX is doing? I can't see how that will pass as acceptable. Might as well use bank transfers, cheaper!

Yes bitcoin fee is too high at the moment because of traffic on blockchain network but I hope it will be resolved soon so don't send your bitcoin unless it is an emergency need for money because you will lose big amount in for of fee.But the problem will be solved soon so the fee will get reduced soon maybe in a week.you can send your transaction with low fee but it may takes some days to get confirmed.
e

Why do you believe this issue will be solved within the week?

I think he is speculating that maybe next week, the network is not that decongested as compare to the current situations that we are in. But as per the current mempool count, it's down to 100K unconfirmed transactions. So based on my experienced it will be fairly quick if you will send it today. But I don't know why the fees they are charging are high though. For me a 10% fee is fairly high already. So they should be charging like 20$. I guess they are charging so that your transactions can be pick up in the next 5 blocks or less.

10572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: December 27, 2017, 05:02:11 PM
Golden State winning against Cleveland, without S.Curry, has shown that it is the big favorite also this year. Now Golden State also has the best record in nba with 27W and 7L.

Everyone did tuned in on this game.

What's funny is I've seen those avid fans of Cleveland Cavaliers are whining and ranting on social medias and blaming the referees.  Grin

I'm whining about Cavaliers loss because they've cost me good amount of coins. I was so sure that they win when Curry  is out...

LOL mate, you are not the only one whining here. But I took the lost and just shrug it out. Maybe its not really for the Cavaliers to win this time.

Golden State Warriors won. Even without Curry. Imagine what would've happened if he had played too.

About that last possesion. I would like to say that it could be called fould but didn't have to. Some judges would call it foul, others would not. And if it really was foul, remember their last season's Christmas match. Durant didn't get obvious faul in last possesion, so consider it compromise. Cheesy

Well at crucial seconds, referees don't want to call a foul unless its pretty obvious. They don't want to decide the game for themselves, they want the players to do it. Just like I said, its not for the Cavaliers to win, its just the breaks of the game and it didn't went on their favor, nothing else. No need to cry and rant about Cavaliers losing.
10573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think dicing can take over the real money market like it did with Bitcoin on: December 27, 2017, 04:57:24 PM
And I don't think it will because if you go to land based casino, they are already dice games and you can bet as well. The problem is most of the gamblers there, prefer other games, and it's not gaining a followers for land based gamblers. I myself have bet a few on dice games but Its kinda bored as compare on online dice. Although I observed that there are some elderly persons who prefer land based dice though, maybe they are old school or just simply want the simplicity of the game instead of playing slots or any other games.

Why not? I mean if you look at the current amount of money being wagered at dice websites, I think they are already giving traditional casinos a run for their money.
Dice games provide the best odds of all games, so I think they're only going to get more popular.

Some people might actually enjoy the simplicity and fast pace of them, they have a lot of benefits over other games if you look at it in detail.

Agreed, actually when I started to played online dice game (without thinking any strategy yet), the simplicity of the game captured my interest on playing with it. However, things just got complicated when you have enough experienced and begin to think of strategy of winning in this game. Starting with nothing on my mind, just to play the game and take the profit is already enough for me then.

And as more people found that playing dice is a good choice, lots of money have been going since then, billions of dollars flowing like in just a matter of years. And online dice is the best profitable business so far as far as involving bitcoins.
10574  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another dip before new year? on: December 27, 2017, 04:22:22 PM
Hey!

Will there be another dip before new year or around the first week of Jan? Last year there was a correction but i am still not sure. I have around $ 8K i want to invest in Btc & ethereum. Any leads would be nice.

Well last year, before Christmas there is a huge pump on bitcoin, however, we have a massive dump this Christmas season so I'm expecting a reversal coming 2018. There will be a continues rise, however, its very slow as what we have seen in the last 5 days or so. But then again, market is based on speculation, we can really say for certain what's going to be the trend.  We just need to be prepared as what goes on, we love to see bullish runs, but I don't see it happening. It will be a slow and painful process to see bitcoin hits $20K next year. We will get there eventual, just a little patience guys.
10575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Thank you MCFEEE on: December 27, 2017, 04:16:57 PM
This macafee is really pumping and dumping in these  days
Maybe is all a grand strategy to finally bring bitcoin over 1000000usd and not have  to eat his own d...k :-)
First with crypto and then with btc right?

LOL. But the thing is John McAfee is really good at hyping any coins specially bitcoin. He has still a lot of followers eventhough the guy is really eccentric but we can't take away the fact that he is a genius as well. So a lot of his die hard will follow what every coins the guy bought, everyone of his fan boys will pump as well.

But personally, I would follow the guy though, he may be right, but at the same time he's predictions will go out of the drain. Its better to just join the ride and then exit on time. We also have to remember that he is truly a bagholder of bitcoins, that's why he is making outlandish predictions about it so that he can take profits in the future.
10576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I sell my airdropped tokens quickly or hold on to them? on: December 27, 2017, 03:52:27 PM
I sell coins when their price grows to 30-50$,
but this happens only with some. The rest still cost $ 2-5 or nothing

LOL. Airdrop tokens have insignificant value, that is why they are giving it for free. If you have the chance to get ride it, they I suggest you do before this shitcoins turns into of nothing to you. That's why I don't joined airdrops myself, total waste of your valuable time and they worth nothing and they turn out to be scam as well. Asking info not related and I heard that some of them are asking for private keys, but not sure if that is true.

I would rather joined good bounties, at least you have a better chance of joining a good campaign that will make it big once the ICO's ended as compare to airdrops who have been just hype but turns out to be nothing at the end.
10577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Btc can reach 20000$ End of the year 2017? on: December 24, 2017, 05:59:58 PM
Since the prices of BTC and Altcoins have fallen very fast these days, I would like to hear from others about this because I am talking about the possibility of crossing the $ 20,000 limit this year. My idea is that Btc will be able to cross the $ 20,000 limit this year. Roll Eyes

Where you have been lately dude? Did you see the bitcoin crash in the last few days? It went down as hard like more than 40% and everyone was caught of guard. $20K is possible but not this year. We have reached the peak already for 2017. Most like in the first quarter of 2018, $20K can be touch and even surpass.

I'm as bullish as you regarding bitcoin, however, its not realistic to target a price that we can't get to. It's about 1 week to go before closing 2017. So for me it can't be done, unless investors again has this attitude of buying bitcoin like crazy, but I doubt they will. Let's just appreciate what could be the end price of bitcoin. A price of above $10K is already acceptable for me.
10578  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's price is getting low on: December 24, 2017, 05:32:08 PM
I think this is the correct price of bitcoin. Remember it was really push hard to almost $20K when all the speculation about bitcoin futures contracts. But its seems corrections took it normal toll to the price. And now the price seems to settle where the price should be.

Again, I'm not complaining because it is still above $10K and no one can really think that we can get to this price at the beginning of the year. We could have reach $20K, but I'm pretty sure it will crash as well. At least what we have seen is the price with no artificial pump.
10579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Futures Trading was "Buy the rumor, sell the news" on: December 24, 2017, 04:01:21 PM
The recent speculation run up was that futures contracts will enable all sorts of new buying, so the price has been run up.  However, almost no futures contracts ever take delivery of the underlying.  It will just allow entities to bet against each other, and cash settling their contacts indep. of any actual bitcoin buying/selling.  They are just betting on future price against each other.     So, there is no magical new buying from futures contracts.   This is why it tanked.

Of course the offering really pushed the price to almost $20K. Its really crazy and unbelievable seeing a lot of people buying at the top price and its very illogical, well from what I have seen. But correct me if I'm wrong, bitcoin future contracts doesn't involved bitcoin but as FIAT and when it started,  people realized that try to get out and whales cash it out before everyone sees what transcribe.

It's good thing though, as most of us have cash out and took profits. And the price is still strong, more than $10K starting from $700 at the beginning of the year.

But I speculate that we can still push to $20K but not this year though, Everyone thought that we can do it, however the crash dampen our hopes to surpass it at the end of the year.
10580  Economy / Economics / Re: Still Buying Bitcoin at $100K? on: December 24, 2017, 03:29:08 PM
For me i dont invest in bitcoin if the price is 100k$ becuase its too high. What if bitcoin will loss?? Back to 20k your invest was boom. Disappear. You regret so much. So it is better to buy if bitcoin in deep price.

You don't get it, bitcoin is a investment, so its either you won big or you go home. And we all know that it is very volatile that's why there is risk, very big risk. But as for me, I can't even afford to buy at $10K lest at $100K. So NO, I will not buy at that rate and only investors who have a lot of money can really afford it.

Bitcoin at $100k is very expensive but if it would happen that seems very interesting to buy still. You know what? Because of there is a sign that price may still surges up and if buying earning can be achieved.
Look we always want the profit, doesn’t matter whether the prices are expensive or not. Someone who had bought bitcoins at rate of few hundreds and now see if he sells them out, he may get thousands as profit. So that is the point, if someone is willing to buy bitcoin at $100k and still the market trend is going high so after few years of this price, he may have profit.

But as what I said, $100K is too much for me, but if someone can really afford it to buy then they may do so. So it really up to the individuals because there are really investors who are willing to pour their cash to the market, while casuals are just holding and will not buy when the price reaches $100K.
