10581  Economy / Speculation / Re: Testing 600 again on: August 12, 2016, 03:20:26 AM
I do not know what you people are on, it must be denial but this will go back below $600 and stay there. It is possible that it will not go above $600 until next year. The recent rise of bitcoin that started the end of May is really fast. It was pumped by the whales and was dumped leaving us caught up in the mess and hoping it will go up again.

Now that's some bearish shit!

Bearish? Please check and analyze what is going on. Look at the BTC/USD chart it is exactly what is happening. I know all of you do not want to hear things because they are "bearish" but please take time to know the truth. It was testing $600 again only for some dumpers to gain the opportunity to unload at a better price again. It is better to not do anything and wait at the bottom to get in at a good price.
10582  Economy / Speculation / Re: New ATH by July 2017 on: August 12, 2016, 03:05:26 AM
But what happens if it does not happen? Then we are back here again predicting that it will surpass ATH in 2018. It is better to predict with plausible supporting fundamental theories and some technical analysis.
10583  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A slap to the FBI. Online drug sales triple after Silk Road closure on: August 12, 2016, 02:36:22 AM
I don't think it is the FBIs fault by closing down Silk Road. If they had left it open, Silk Road would be three times bigger (or more) by now and drug sales would still have trippled.

The only thing now is that there are numerous places where people go to buy rather than one, which makes it more difficult to keep an eye on.

All business is shifting online. You order your electronics and even groceries online now. Those numbers probably also trippled in the same time. Would anyone really expect the drug trade not to follow a similar trend? In a few years every post office might have drug dogs to pick the packets out..

That is not the point. The point is in over 50 years of their "war on drugs" the illegal drugs industry keeps getting bigger and bigger. The cartels are getting richer and are increasing in political influence. What they are doing is not effective and they are only wasting tax payer's money. What good did getting Ulbricht in prison bring? Nothing.
10584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Blockchain.info Commercial Ad on: August 12, 2016, 02:27:34 AM
I prefer if they put the ".info". It would be easier for the people to get there than by typing "blockchain" on google. Some people might not even get it and just quit looking after a minute or 2. It is better for regular people to make it straight forward as possible.
10585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mentioned on Mr.Robot Season 2 on: August 12, 2016, 02:24:23 AM
There were another two BTCs in the latest episode in the store that was closing down.  The shopkeeper lamented that "With this cash allowance, no one's coming in", suggesting that there were currency restrictions in place and people couldn't withdraw their money as they normally would.

I just saw this too and I think it is great that bitcoin is getting some exposure on TV. Did you see the new blockchain.info commercial on youtube? It would be great if the network plugs that on when they are showing Mr. Robot. It might make the people more curious about it.

10586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Blockchain.info Commercial Ad on: August 12, 2016, 02:18:48 AM
That is nice. Do they show it on TV in different countries or is it just an online ad? Bitcoin commercial increase might be a sign of it going mainstream. So is it time to look for another cryptocoin to support? Smiley
10587  Other / Politics & Society / A slap to the FBI. Online drug sales triple after Silk Road closure on: August 11, 2016, 01:10:28 AM
We all know that Ross Ulbricht was made an example of and was given a sentence so hard that they thought it will discourage others from following the footsteps of DPR. They were wrong.

NBC news has reported that online drug sales have tripled since the closure of the Silk Road. http://www.nbcnews.com/tech/internet/online-drug-sales-triple-after-silk-road-closure-n627576

This is a link to the study that was made about it. https://www.rand.org/content/dam/rand/pubs/research_reports/RR1600/RR1607/RAND_RR1607.pdf

This could be a silent victory for all the supporters of DPR and deep inside they are laughing at the authorities. I know I am.

10589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting people to use Bitcoin- ideas on: August 11, 2016, 12:47:06 AM
Bitcoin is not for everyone. There is no need to get ordinary people to use it. But there is a certain demographic that you should encourage people to read about it and get them interested. These people are usually male, coders or someone from the IT field, smart, open minded with a small penchant for activism and rebellion.
10590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin WiFi T-shirt on: August 11, 2016, 12:42:14 AM
Cool t-shirts! I like the one worn by the girl in the first pic. If I may ask, who is she? I think she is the prettiest girl I have seen wearing a bitcoin t-shirt.
10591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's Control the Future Value of Bitcoin on: August 11, 2016, 12:39:52 AM
The recent economic events that have impacted the trade value of bitcoin are irrelevant. Brexit? New president? Halving? None of these events actually matter in determining the value of bitcoin since they are just headlines. The market cap of Bitcoin is only about $10 billion USD. That is as much money as a mid-level U.S. finance, insurance, or real estate company manages. In other words, bitcoin is not even on the financial map, which is actually a good thing!

Bitcoin needs a catalyst. That catalyst is you and me. So, we need to do two things:

1. Spend bitcoin: Holding bitcoin is an awesome passive investment strategy, especially for those who purchased sub $250. However, taking an active approach will help stabilize at $1000, which is honestly what everyone is looking forward to. If early adopters hold the majority of bitcoin then no one else can use it whether they want to or not. This means it would not be of value in the long term since there is no established barometer of what it could potentially be worth in exchange of consumer good and services. This leads us to the next point of getting late adopters to understand why and how to use bitcoin as a method of payment.

2. Educate others about bitcoin: When I explain bitcoin to friends and family I refer to it as "internet money". They ask, "Like Paypal?" and I say, "Very similar, but more like buying early shares of Apple or IBM because it appreciates at a higher rate than the dollar." This has been a useful conversation starter and influenced a few colleagues enough to at least open up a Coinbase account.

There is no need for more (or less) regulation as the status quo of decentralized currency is now a proven concept.

To spend bitcoins you need to earn bitcoins. All of us earn fiat in the real world from our jobs, so we spend fiat for our needs. We are ordinary people and most of us will not buy bitcoin to spend them. We buy bitcoin because it is an investment. It is the companies that are involved in bitcoin that should take the responsibility of encouraging the spending of bitcoins by having available jobs that pay in bitcoin.
10592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: *warning* Two current security issues with mobile devices on: August 11, 2016, 12:26:21 AM
How do these malicious apps get included in the Apple app store? I thought they had higher quality control and that they are more strict in choosing which apps are accepted and which ones are rejected.
10593  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dynamic Trade Strategy Generation and Algorithmic Trading Bot on: August 10, 2016, 02:12:47 AM
This is interesting. Is the bot profitable or do you think it can be profitable than a buy and hold type of trading strategy? Sometimes I think the more active a person is in trading the more chances of him losing his money. For a bot to do this I think those chances are magnified.
10594  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to sell? Or to buy? on: August 10, 2016, 02:08:25 AM
Time to wait. There is a high chance that bitcoin will still drop down so save your money and look for bargain prices. Do not get overly excited in the fluctuations of the price because it could be a bull trap.
10595  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex HACKED - funds stolen ! on: August 10, 2016, 01:59:56 AM
When a bunch of white guys want to run their business out of Hong Kong you know somethings fishy.

Like Karpeles' set up when he ran MtGox. You have a point, maybe they were trying to circumvent some laws and regulations from their own country so that they could start operations more quickly. There is news that Bitfinex really does not have a license to operate. That should be a big warning to everyone and we should all avoid that site.
10596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FUCK! The Bitcoin is dead again. This time for sure. on: August 10, 2016, 01:54:11 AM
Large groups of well paid, organized, funded professionals with clear objectives and good management - (like R3, hyperledger, ethereum, others) are sure making those Core programmers look like the silly little whiny bitches that they are.  Core is going NOWHERE and getting there pretty damn fast.  Meanwhile, very sophisticated advance is being done every day in other part of crypto/blockchain.

This is 100% the end of bitcoin as we know it.  Good thing too.  This 'open source', 'no leadership', 'no organization' thing was always a load of bullshit.

Fast forward to today. Bitcoin price during time of quoted post is $420. Price of bitcoin now is $583. It is not dead and still a lot of people are using it in different ways.
10597  Other / Archival / Re: how to earn bitcoin fast? on: August 10, 2016, 01:47:23 AM
This thread has gone way past out of line. All the suggestions are the same and some of them do not help the OP. Maybe some concrete suggestions are needed. There are a lot of micro jobs at the Market Place. It would be best to point people there to post their offerings for their services.
10598  Economy / Speculation / Re: $500 Within 2 Months? on: August 09, 2016, 04:17:16 AM
Am I the only one that think bitcoin will reach $500 within the next two months?

For fun, maybe you should ask this again. But this time in reverse. Smiley

There is a possibility for it to happen as we have seen in the movement of bitcoin in the past. Anything can happen.
10599  Economy / Speculation / Re: It is Buy time! on: August 09, 2016, 04:14:56 AM
If you bought below $500 when the flash dump happened then that is a really good buy. That is a level where there will be a lot of buying occurring if it goes down there again. The whales and the traders are waiting for a much better price to make long term positions so the lower the entry price the better. Right now there's no more pumps happening because people are doing some bargain hunting. Going above $600 could happen again but it will not stay there for long. Down to $550 is possible. Maybe even lower.
10600  Other / Off-topic / Re: Earning a living with bitcoin? on: August 09, 2016, 04:07:58 AM
With 0.30 bitcoins per month you can make a decent living in poor countries or like they call them third world countries. Cambodia and alikes you can make a very nice monthly living with only 0.30 bitcoins per month. Not that hard to make it if you are for example in a very good signature campaign like Bit-x for example. Also in other high paying signatures like mine or like those who pay 0.05 btc per week. Even with 0.25 bitcoins per month you can live a very comfortable life there in Cambodia. So yes it is possible but only in certain countries. Beside that bitcoin can be earned in many ways and not exclusive only to signature campaigns.

And this is the reason why we have so much low effort posts and topics everywhere. Some guys from third world countries realized they can create multiple accounts and enroll in many signature campaigns to earn 0.3 BTC per month and even more later.

Would be great if more employers discovered Bitcoin and started hiring people from third world countries to do useful jobs. This would help people from countries that are out of reach of PayPal, Visa and Payoneer.

This is my thought exactly. Bitcoin should catch on to employers who outsource their jobs to the labor forces in Asia. This would mostly mean India since it is the no.1 country where outsourcing companies set up their offices. Bitcoin would make a good example of a use case that bypasses banks and other payment processors saving those companies the hassle and the from the fees incurred in doing transactions thru traditional means.
