1064  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 05, 2015, 09:41:30 PM
I have one, I'm using it for other asics now (U3's and BFL so Amp rating doesn't matter)

Make sure you check the amp rating of the power supply to estimate how many sticks you can run.

I'll check what mine is.

It says 12v 3A so assume it should be okay? I've only got 2 sticks on way so far but would be good if I could add more if I wanted Smiley.
1065  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 05, 2015, 08:22:42 PM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=220905.0 here for RPI and block erupter

Or try the search at the top of the page when you're on that thread, this will restrict the search to the thread content.

You need to have [insert proper value for gekkostick]VA per device.  So for example if the adapter says 5V 3A then you can power 15VA worth of devices which = 15/2.5 = 6.

As soon as I get my other 4 sticks, i'll report.
They left US yesterday so I may not get them in France before Monday (saturday if i'm lucky)

Usb3 will definitely not work with RPI apparently. (I just have 1 USB3 and 4 USB2 but I may try it anyway for the sake of it Smiley)

Thank you Smiley.

I've found this Orico 36w USB 2.0 10 port hub wonder if that will be ok: http://www.amazon.co.uk/ORICO-10-Port-Adapter-USB2-0-Windows/dp/B00NMF8ZWA/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1446754580&sr=1-4&keywords=usb+2.0+powered+hub
1066  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 05, 2015, 08:07:07 PM
Is there a list anywhere of hubs that will work with Raspberry Pi and Gekkoscience sticks? I had ordered but just cancelled an Anker 60w 7 port USB 3.0 but have just read USB 3.0 probably wont work Huh.
1067  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 05, 2015, 08:04:58 AM
Does anyone know if there's a guide to setting up a Raspberry Pi as a controller anywhere please?

I've got my sticks and powered hub on route and would like to run them from a Pi model B I've already got. I haven't used one before as a controller so really don't know where to start Embarrassed.
1068  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Zeus Miner 25Mh/s - $230 on: November 04, 2015, 10:16:51 PM
Hi. I have came to an end of my mining days. Bought this last year and she's looking for a new home. I don't know if it's the Thunder or the Hurricane. A Raspberry Pi 1st gen is running it with the Zeus Miner OS. An EVGA 1300W power supply is powering it, when I bought it I think 1000W was sufficient. If you have questions ask away.

I constantly get ~23-25Mh/s mining LTC at WeMineLTC.com.

$230 Shipped to US.

It'll stay running until it's sold. I plan on keeping the Pi and PSU unless you really want them. The Pi SD card comes with it if you want.

I'm new here, so here are my references:

Edit: I'm not sure of shipping rates outside of the 48 states.

Not only have your suspicious links been removed you forgot to mention about escrow being accepted?

I'm starting to think that posts like this are being used by people that probably have multiple accounts with signature campaigns so they can make a quick buck by posting with their alts on their own thread. Pretty sad to think this way but there are so many useless posts where the OP doesn't come back I'm starting to wonder Huh.
1075  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Oct 11 to Nov 11 Sidehack stick pool club. on: November 03, 2015, 07:46:23 AM
I like the look / idea behind this pool Smiley.

Just hopefully completing a deal to buy a couple of sticks from DaveF Smiley.

Fingers crossed after I buy them and when they arrive there will be space for me.

Out of curiosity is there any reason why the pool is restricted to 30?

mostly to keep the payoff high  for a stick owner.

you get 1/30 of 12 coins  for mining with a stick. this is Part A prize money  so .4 btc   which is 140 usd

you also get shares tallied  and a piece of Part B prize money     this is to encourage people adding extra mining gear like an s-3 or an s-5 or an s-7

Part A prize favors a guy with 1 or 2 sticks

Part B prize favors a guy with a stick and an s-5 or a stick and rented hash.

This is the only pool that a guy with 1 or 2 sticks can do very well in.

If we allow an unlimited amount of members  we can no longer do this.

But on Nov 11th   we will do  a new cycle if coins stay high and demand is there we can make the limit 40 rather then 30.  since 1/40 of 12 coins = .3 btc and at  current price of btc it is over 105 usd.

Which is far better then the price of one or 2 or 3 sticks.

Ok thats great thank you, hopefully I'll have a couple of sticks in a week or 2 than I can join in the fun if there's places available Smiley.

Sounds good to me.

With BTC jumping I don't have a problem going to 40 next cycle.  I like that we limit it where it is some fun for everyone.  But with Europe just getting sticks I don't want to leave all of them out.   I think 40 will be pretty high side of what we should go.

I think this club idea is a good one.  So I'm hoping we are able to do a Pod club (once they release) and a Compac club.   I don't know if there is enough but a U3 club could be interesting if there was the people, crazy guy's custom R1 firmware has actually made it very stable on U3.

That sounds excellent thank you Smiley.
1076  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Fitbit Zips on: November 03, 2015, 01:02:02 AM
Not heard from him either. He never asked for upfront payments, though. Maybe he was fishing for info?
Probably, that's pretty freaky :-/
Did he ship with or without tracking?  Was really hoping to get a couple of these...

Hopefully he's just busy or decided to back out. I doubt he's fishing for info because he didnt know who's going to reply.

Lets give him ( I keep saying him, it could be her ) the benefit of the doubt as it appears no-one has paid for anything.

Worst that has happened is that he / she has some peoples shipping addresses.

Hi aaron, I'm in UK and have already discussed buying sticks with DaveF before so hopefully this can still happen. I've sent him a PM to buy the 2 he has for sale so should be alright Smiley. Thanks for the suggestion anyway Smiley.
