1062  Other / Meta / Re: what is post quality should be? on: December 01, 2016, 08:33:10 PM
post quality should be something of clear understanding, depends on the angle with which you view it from.

That is what i was trying to do, its just 'we' have different way of understanding. My form of speaking is different to anybody and the same to everyone elses.

I dont have the knowledge they might be looking of.

Alright since you want to improve and recently said I would write my opinion on a few of those here it comes. Take it or leave it.

Disclaimer:[1] Im not staff, not related and even though im part of the default trust network I will not leave negative rating on spammer (or not) accounts nor will I leave counter ratings. I dont think trust ratings are appropriate here. Those that will try to discuss this here will be ignored. Write your opinion/arguments about these topic in the existing topics.

I was reading your last 250 posts starting from here[2]. I wrote this while reading so bear with me when you think but it was different later. Your first few posts have large breaks between them and you mainly try to join a campaign. Two month and you did 9 posts.

There is a single post where you engage half heartedly in a discussion in offtopic[3]. Its about blogging from a phone, the OP has 3 questions you reply to one of them. Your answer is very generic in terms of "phones are limited vs. computers". If you have experience in the area I think you could have posted more esp. in regards to the other questions. The timing of your post before and after make it look like a post just to collect the activity points for the period (21.06.2016 14:40:00). Your next post is just after the next period started, by only a few hours. The question that comes to mind is: Is this your only account?

Here[4] you write that the thread should not have been bumped by the person you quote. Write a report instead, bumping old threads without bringing something new to it is against the rules ("necro posting"). Id say its borderline necro posting.

Here[5] you ask in a sales thread whether or not neteller can be reversed the same as paypal payments. This is offtopic to the thread. Either search for an existing answer or ask it in the proper section (trading discusison IMHO). It also spawns a small discussion about the topic which usually is a good thing, but here it just helps the OP of the thread to bump it 3 times within 30 minutes. On of them is OP asking you to remove your post.

More posts asking questions in a sales thread that have little purpose. You participate in the post your X threads in offtopic[6]. If you want to improve, avoid these kind of threads in any section. You can spot them by the countless replies without any discussion or back and forth between people. They have next to no substance to them and are more like a survey than a discussion thread.

Lets skip the used panty thread and get to another topic, like this[7]. Someone was asking for help with their web wallet, its not actually changed to spam, but lets ignore that here. They have some wallet words and ask whether they can restore them on a different web wallet. You reply that you dont know, but you dont think its possible. You are the first person to actually reply. This would have been a great opportunity for you to help someone. Do quick research and write a better answer. Maybe find out which format these other web wallets use and link to sources. Not only will you learn something, but also potentially someone else.

Would you want "Im not sure, maybe X" or "Yes/No, because <reason> as you can confirm yourself here <link to source>." when you have a question about your coins?

Next general thing, mega threads. Very long threads with lots of replies.

This is your reply with the quote post you reply to

For a steady income perhaps the best way is to open your own business. Depending on your skills, it may bring you good results.

This is better and this is also what i wanted too. I have an idea of what business i should open but the fund is the only problem im currently dealing with since im just recently started of having it and this way how im using bitcoin to add some funds to my planned business. Business is not only good for me if succeed but also good for my country and the community i belong.

This is another one 10+ pages earlier

If you are looking for a steady income better to look for a business you start and plan your earnings to invest to your own business for the first time you will lose but dont worry if you success promoting your site you will have a possive income.. daily or weekly..

The topic has already been discussed. You also state that you have your own business, yet in an earlier post you said you would quit your job if you could earn money with <forgot, not important>. Also, as mentioned above. If you have a business Im sure you can provide some insights.

In general try to stay away from these very long topics unless you actually read it entirely. If you do you are less likely to engage in a discussion that already took place in the same thread or you bring in points from the previous discussion to make this iteration of the topic more interesting.

Here[8] is an example for what Hilarious describes above. Lots of words for "I bought a guitar because I want to make videos on youtube with it". The rest is flavortext. You get a reply though, perfect moment to advertise your channel with a link to one of your videos playing said guitar.[9]

I wanted to thank you guys even though you fucked me over by freezing TPG coin but ever since I'm earning $20 daily from your dice even with it being rigged, so thanks a lot yobit love yall. Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss

Woah i never heard someone plays on yobit dice until now and had a win. I used to play there twice but i stopped not because i lose but the first thing is its not good to play on there due too many aspects.

Why not expand on these aspects?

Are you saying you cant move your coins on your xapo wallet to another wallet you have?

-snip-
When I try to send coins it says unable to send.
-snip-

Does the amount you were trying to move is big?

Why does it matter?

I just want to tell you bitcoin user should be anonymous and there is no need to give your identity just to be able to use a bitcoin service like xapo. Be very careful next time.

Bitcoin is not anonymous and xapo can and does request their wallet users to profit id information. Again, someone has problem with their coins, do you think you helped them? Would you appreciate a reply like yours if all yours coins were frozen with a service?

Another account with green light? Should not be sold i know its your right to do whatever you wanted to do, but if your account goes to a evil acting like human, something bad will happen.

If you think its evil, dont bump their 3 day old thread to the top.

When you actually care you someone make better posts.

-> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1606042.0

I ll stop now (post #121 from latest) I dont think there will be significant changes to your posting style or new points I want to tell you. It boils down to what hilarious already wrote, put some thought and time in it. Yes it can be difficult sometimes when others around you are posting low quality as well, but its worth it. Before you hit post ask yourself:

#1 do I really want to write this publicly?
#2 does it help anyone but myself if I do?
#3 does my post bring something new to the discussion/topic at hand?

If you answer all the questions with no, just move on without posting. Sometimes its enough to have written the post, it must not be published.

[1] Its a bit sad that I have to write something like this at all, isnt it?

Tbh that won't get you your account back. You need to add details in the message like today's date and possibly even the fact that your account was compromised. If they did use that to recover your account anyone could now recover your account in the future by copying / pasting the message you just posted.

I sent a different message with the same format that shown here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0
and this one i have posted here just to let people that is my account.

I need someone with a good feedback or rep that can verify me then I will delete it for security reasons.

The format is fine, the source of the address is fine (quoted below and here http://archive.is/ngUe3 , just in case). The problem is that there is no date with the message, thus it could (have) be(en) copied by someone without owning the private key for it. Should we consider this a valid message now, it would also be valid when I post it 3 months from now.

I just wanted to refund him with btc now because i can not obtain more starbucks GCs atm and still waiting for his reply.

k, according to preev it's BTC0.13 (probably will change)

1067  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is the output of hash function evenly distributed? on: November 30, 2016, 10:25:44 PM
And while in the subject...

Although extremely unlikely, what happens if a new block has the same hash as a previous block?

Bitcoin continues normally. It's a perfectly valid occurrence.

Is that so?

Lets say there are blocks A, B, C and D with B and C having the same hash. B refers to A as normal. C refers to B which may work even though its the same hash, Im not sure. D refers to C and B because they have the same hash. What am I missing? Besides that a 256-bit collision will probably never happen.

Ignoring the fact that the likelihood of 2 blocks outputting the same hash, in the same consensus round (10 mins) is practically zero.  There would be a network fork until the next valid blocks on all of the fork chains were created.

The network would then revert to the fork where the next block/s had the most work performed upon it.

A (not very good) diagram:

CHAIN (WORK = 100) -> Block +1 (HASH X  : WORK = 10) -> Block +2 (HASH Z : WORK 12)
CHAIN (WORK = 100) -> Block +1 (HASH X' : WORK = 10) -> Block +2 (HASH Y : WORK 13) <- This one would win

So block X' cant follow X?

anybody who can help?    Huh

Not sure.

The transaction ID should be this? a1af4fedf1e89f6f7e0166e7c986fa52d831f8aa47e488ce445c64d60bdb2cde

I am using Darkwallet version 0.80

The transaction is very confusing as its not clear which payment is yours. Is coinjoin already enabled in darkwallet?

Did you contact bitcoin.de about the transaction? Maybe there is an issue on their end.

Edit: a more in depth description of this problem can be found in post #8 by Danny below.

Edit2: answered:

Is there something in Bitcoin Core that prevents the block at height 441372 (with a
Previous Block Hash that is identical to it's own Block hash) from being added to the blockchain?
Yes.
No one node will receive it
Because will ignore INV command thinking that already has this block in the blockchain

Biete -> Güter und Dienstleistungen (ggf. fällt jmd. was kürzes eins, Handel?)
Suche -> Wechselstube (BTC <-> EUR/etc.)
Auktionen -> Auktionen, aber posts sind nicht editierbar.

Ist das so? Kann man den vote noch ändern?

1073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction keeps unconfirmed on: November 30, 2016, 08:54:22 PM
-snip-
Yes I know, but my service (blockchain.info) always uses these kind of fees. So it should just work.

There is a custom fee option so you can increase or decrease it as needed. It will not just work, you have to pay for your spot in the block and the price varies depending on the amount of other confirmations transactions that want a spot.

And I think I understand now and have the patience, but how will other users react? Thats worrying...

There recently was a large increase in unconfirmed transactions. The bulge around the 24th in the picture below. It was not pretty.

Edit: typos
1074  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Simple way to secure THE Seed on: November 30, 2016, 08:33:13 PM
The problem with this method is that its easy to test. Lets say someone finds a phone like yours and has read this thread. How many numbers do they have to combine to get all your coins? 100? 200? 500? The 4th and 8th to last numbers are always 0,1 or 2. This makes these numbers likely stand out or at the very least should vastly reduce the combinations to test. Its just as secure as your phone is and I personally consider phones as insecure.

Just a small script on a linux system that runs at certain times. I guess I was among the last to join, was it always this unreliable?

it took a while to get working properly but it was pitched as an experimental campaign. i think the first payment was delayed for 2-3 weeks. there's been the occasional blip and non on time payment since then but it always gets dealt with.

I have redone my calculations in a spreadsheet now, I can transfer it to a google doc if anyone is interested. Or wants to do their own. Does anyone know what language the cron script is written in and what output is needed for it to work with the rest of the system? I suspect it writes the values into a database?
1076  Economy / Services / Re: ★ Coinroll ★ Signature Campaign ★ on: November 30, 2016, 05:54:46 PM
if they paid out what the site is telling us it owes us they could probably afford a billboard in times square for the same money. i hope they get it sorted successfully soon. i still don't know what a CRON is but it certainly seems to be sensitive.

Does everyone here get the same error?

I got more than 0.60BTC overnight and i think almost all of the participants have received some random amount added to their balance.
I think dev done something wrong while trying to fix the missing payments.

Also no any post were counted for yesterday.

So, I cant keep this?

Oh, well.

I suggest you going into services and looking for the escrow servivce.
However you can just ask legendary/hero members about the escrow- im sure many will going to help you about that Wink

High account rank does not equaly trustworthiness. Accounts are bought and sold, making it possible for a scammer to aquire a high rank account easily. If thats all you are looking for you will eventually run into trouble.

Not recently, no, but my postcount from yesterday was off.

2016/11/27 - 1:00 AM shorena 9841 posts at $0.0005/ea and 27 new posts at $0.25/ea =

9841+26=9867
9867+ 9=9876
9876+ 1=9877, 9887 is the correct count though. So it should be 11 posts instead of 1.
1080  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: About the faucet/gambling sites on: November 29, 2016, 09:26:41 PM
Where the BTC they give comes from? They buy it all to make the giveaway and for the gambling purpose?

Faucets main source of income are advertisements. They usually need to give away something initially before getting paid.

Casinos earn from players losses. Casino faucets are just a way to advertise or to allow you to play around with small amounts first before you deposit.
