There are bots out there that handle steam trades. It would be handy if one of them was handling trades with BTC, or even better acting as a middleman, securing btc item trades between users.

I don't know if empoex provides any protection to investors, their terms are vastly unclear to be honest. But nevertheless, I think that you can't deny that you would be able to run away with funds at some point.
