They should probably hurry up and get their order management software fixed. How are people supposed to update their shipping method when the rate calculator is returning stupid amounts which make no sense?

I also wonder how many of those who sold their pre-orders way back when have moved address by now.  BFL has always said they'll only ship to the address of the person who originally placed the order, so I expect we're going to see a couple of threads from people who bought a pre-order from someone else and never receive their unit.

So, if a person moved to a new home during the interim, the item(s) is shipped to the given address regardless? If not, then the system can be gamed.

Wouldn't it be funny if tomorrow we're informed the pics posted were of some other project that was provided by the third party? The good news being that those chips worked, albeit not BFL's. And that the facility is sending the correct pics later today.

Humor aside, I just thought of something while penning the above. Josh said the images came in at two in the morning (CST). Interesting!

I'm goin' for the activity.

An employee at ACME Widget once went to see his boss about getting a day off, but he first had to come up with a lie for the request, for it was his nature. Besides, he figured, his boss was an ass. Once satisfied in his mind that the lie will work, he went to Mr. Gel's office.

"What can I do for you today, Bruce?," Mr. Gel asked. Bruce went into great detail as to why he needed the day off, and once Bruce was finished, he was sent back to his station to await a reply. Imagine the problem uses a magic black box that only outputs letters of a certain criteria:

letters ----->[MAGIC BOX]----> only letters that match criteria

So to make the puzzle, we put two sequences of inputs into the box:
letters A-R:  ----->[MAGIC BOX]----> clue sequence
letters S-Z:  ----->[MAGIC BOX]----> rest of sequence

When the criteria is "typography of letter includes a diagonal line", the outputs are:
letters A-R:  ----->[contains diagonal?]----> clue:{A,K,M,N,R}
letters S-Z:  ----->[contains diagonal?]----> answer:{V,W,X,Y,Z}


If the puzzle was created with lower-case letters however:
letters a-r:  ----->[contains diagonal?]----> clue:{k}
letters s-z:  ----->[contains diagonal?]----> answer:{v,w,x,y,z}


Using lower-case letters, it would be impossible to make a puzzle with the criteria "contains diagonal" that had
 A. a good enough unique answer, i.e., if I asked you to "complete the sequence {z,y,x,w,v}", how would you know the answer is {k}? or
 B. a non-obvious answer ("complete the sequence {k,v,w,x,y}")

Note the key word there in yellow. What does it read? Different. Correct! What if I were to say that somebody misread that word as difficult? Would that then make his argument valid? Thought so! Hence showing the lower case letters. The diagonal route was where I was heading next, but nixed the idea after reading the above. I will be sad if the diagonal route proves to supply the answer.

Also, note that the faint wires don't lead to anything, for they're only connected at one end then fade into another dimension. I wonder if BFL is showing us their next gen quantum chip by mistake.

Nothing to see here! Mt. Gox simply declared the Bitcoinica coins as assets. The new orders will simply put the coins back on the liability side of the ledger. Basic accounting, that's all. It all balances out in the long, long, long, long.. run.

In as few trades as possible may be admirable, it may take a few more, but definitely doable.

I don't know if there's any real life experiences, but surely if you trade many times and all the time get something that's a little bit more valuable than what you have, everything is possible. Haha. If successfull this is truly a story that should be documented. Is there a blog ?

I've expressed to deeplink that an online log would help the project along, and I'm pretty sure he's considering it. The first step is completed with the exception of him having the books in his hands. Once he does get a physical online presence, it won't be that difficult to express what has transpired via this thread (assuming it's the main one) onto it.
