1081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.3 Released MANDATORY UPDATE on: January 04, 2014, 12:17:35 PM
So you are saying this coin will go up ? Its ....35 now . It was stable for a while at 95 , wonder if it will ever hit again 95 Smiley

Long term? yes without a doubt.
Short term? No.
Theres plenty of time to dig in. I shall be buying and digging some more myself.
1082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.3 Released MANDATORY UPDATE on: January 04, 2014, 11:48:27 AM
might take awhile for the amount of doge already on exchanges to get bought up

altho demand is very high the supply is 3 times as much atleast

so when block is halved in feb it will take a few months for the dumpers to sell their coins

Just keep buying up all the cheap doge and in 2 months it will triple in price

I do partly agree with you, but next price rise may happen few days before the block halfes. Speculators will start buying in sooner.
Its impossible to tell what will really happen. We shall see in 40 days.

Assume you have 1000kHash of digging power; with that you could mine at the current difficulty level approx. 30,000 DOGE a day
pffttt 30,000 a day..
I've solomined for days with 1Mh/s with 0 coins - sooooo

You are better off buying a lottery ticket than solo mine with 1Mhs @ 300+ difficulty.  Cheesy

you yourself brought that article from reddit - so don't lecture - I was referring to that example

You are joking right? Or are you serious?
I cant tell, because theres so many newcomers in this forum lately, who dont have slightest idea about how mining works.

Article wasnt reffering to solo mining, but just simple profitability.

Im just going to quote one post from DOGE reddit community to here:
My opinion is same. Just without meme extras.

TLDR; Dogecoin is one of the most profitable coins to mine, so people are mining and dumping for profit. Will probably still drop by ~10-25%. Woof. https://i.imgur.com/NRVOtRI.jpg
A lot of people are posting about the price of Dogecoin and are concerned with its price. There is speculation that is misleading and not backed up by much theory. It’s not just as simple as supply and demand, panic selling or the line of best fit on a graph. Let’s look at the maths and see why the coin is dropping so rapidly and why now.
MAFFS
The difficulty of mining a block of DOGE currently ranged from 300-400 [1], the higher this goes the less coin you will mine. To make things simple let’s run an example: Assume you have 1000kHash of digging power; with that you could mine at the current difficulty level approx. 30,000 DOGE a day [2]! The value of Dogecoin is tightly tied to Bitcoin, we first convert it to BTC and sell that. The price for a single DOGE is roughly 0.00000040 BTC [3] and a BTC is worth around $850 [4]. In our 24 hours of work we earn $10.20 (0.00000040 * 30000 * 850). Wow. Such pawfit.
Now compare this to the ‘standard’ of scrypt mining, Litecoin. For the same time and strength of your digging you would yield around $8.50. If you were only interested in profit you would mine DOGE and sell it because it made you the most profit for your hashrate. A lot of people are doing this, including multicoin pools, they mine the most profitable coin and convert it to BTC. It’s simply efficient. This means that there is a huge dump of coin on the market and the price will fall.
SPECULATION
When will the coin stop dropping in price? When it is no longer the most profitable coin, so probably around 0.00000030 to 0.00000035 BTC. At this price the profitability is too low to reward these types of miners. Alternatively, if the difficulty was to increase then the amount of coins released would be reduced and the profit margins would also decrease, I’d estimate the difficulty would need to be around 450 to 500 to balance out. The difficulty increases if more people mine the coin, and at this point that will be depending on popularity.
Sure a few people are panic selling but comparatively this is a drop in the ocean and even so it will just help the coin reach its stable price a little faster. Anybody who wants to see the coin succeed is already doing what they need to, they are not concerned with the price, remember to have fun!
Another point to note is that over the last few days the price of BTC has risen, and so even if the price of DOGE was stable the exchange ratio for DOGE->BTC would still show a fall – this is slightly misleading and the fall in price is not as hard as it seems!
So what can you do? Wait. The price will level out and over time the difficulty should increase with popularity and in around 1-2 months the reward will halve, I'd expect a big peak in price around that time. The coin is young and popular; it needs to learn the Earth before it can go to the Moon

Oh please dont. Its fair price at the moment. You cant expect DOGE to continue to be "jackpot for everyone".
DOGE remains on top of profitability list on average.
1089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happening with DOGE? on: January 04, 2014, 10:18:54 AM
Yet another amusing DOGE thread...

Steady price fall means that demand is slightly lower than supply. This will likely continue until mid february.
That does not mean that DOGE is going to die.
Just look at the statistical numbers. DOGE is firmly on second scrypt coin place and all others dont even come close.

1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: R9 280x 4Mh/s Mining Rig on: January 04, 2014, 08:39:16 AM
Interested in your total watt usage as well. When I saw your topic last week I pre-ordered 4 Toxics, but then started doubting if I could run 4 of them on the 1200W Corsair PSU that I already had, after reading the heavy load usage figures in several reviews. Eventually went for 4 x Dual-X, only got 2 installed at the moment because I'm waiting for my riser cables, pulling 615W at the moment for the system getting 750kh/s on each card. Seems I'll safely make it under the 1200W anyway.

Based on my rig readings with a 90% efficent PSU.

4x 280x @ 1080/1500 1125mv = 1190W from the wall. 750-755khs per card.
4x 280x @ 1030/1500 1075mv = 1050W from the wall. 715-720khs per card.
4x 280x @ 1000/1500 1037mv= 970W from  the wall. 695-705khs per card.

I assume he runs 800khs per card @ around 1160/1800 1120-1125mv. This should pull approximately 1550-1650w from the wall.

Nice post. I'm running on 3 x 280x dual-x now, waiting for the last riser cable. Pulling 929W @ 1080/1500 at 750kh/s per card. At these clocks you say 1125mv. This is undervolted? What are the stock voltages? Is this through cgminer config or done with Trixx?

When I check the three cards, card 1 is @ 1200 VDDC, card 2 @ 1163 VDDC and card 3 @ 1150 VDDC. How can there be a difference with 3 of the same cards?

Also, when I check GPU-Z, card 1 is @ 1.038V VDDC, card 2 is @ 1.013V VDDC and card 3 @ 1.044V VDDC. What explains the difference compared to Trixx?

I did try to undervolt the cards the first day I set it up, while running @ 1080/1500. Tried to undervolt them a little bit down from 1163 and 1150, but the AMD driver would almost instantly crash. Is this normal?

I'm just wondering if it is definitely possible to undervolt while running @ 1080/1500, because I do like the hash rates.

Hey.
CPUz can give false reading some times. But often its pretty accurate. Most AMD reference disain cards have around 1.16-1.2v vddc as stock voltage. This varies due ASIC quality. Lower asic cards can not run as low volts as high asic cards.
For example my lowest asic card is 64.2%. This can barely run 1000mhz @ 1042mv. If i clock it to 1005mhz, it will fail after few hours of mining. My highest asic card on same PC can run 1020mhz @ 1037mv stable.
So if you want to do very accurate undervolting then you have to make custom bios for each card separately or as alternitive you can use MSI AB too, if you uncheck the option which syncronizes settings for all cards.
Hopefully this answers your question.

BTW. I have not bothered to undervolt every card separately on my mining machines. They all run above settings. One machine runs 1000/1500 @ 1042mv because low asic quality cards in it.

Who will repay me all this waste of time and money Huh ?

Nobody put a gun to your head and made you mine it.
Why do you think anybody owes you anything?

Actually, im pretty sure that this launch can be treated as a felony if served correctly. Wasting hundreds of peoples time with unfilled promises can be very well be crime.

I wasted 3 hours on that shit.
OP can compensate to me in DOGEs now, since i dont want this shitty GFT.

What a naive scheme.

Developer:

1. Make "errors" in first version of wallet
2. Mine with "fixed" wallet
3. When difficulty raise upload new version of wallet with "Sorry, guys."
4. Huh??
5. PROFIT!

Pools:

1. Let the workers mine
2. Give 0 coins
3. Tell them "Sorry, maybe coin bug, we are shutting down for maintance"
4. Grab mined coins
5. Open pool with "fixes"
6. Huh??
7. PROFIT!

Possibly price rises couple of days eariler, because speculators start to buy.
At the moment this is still more than month away. Expect price to drop some more.
