Paspi: might I suggest not releasing the source code to mintcoin android wallet/mintcoinj immediately. I would suggest giving it a 6 month grace period to give mintcoin a head start, otherwise it will be copied to every other pos coin immediately and give mintcoin no intrinsic value. Thoughts?

Its double edged sword. Do you trust a stranger with your coins without knowing what is inside the code?
I guess, its the idea which needs to be discussed, but i doubt that there will be much pro´s for keeping source code private.

DOGE, WDC and very few others will stay for good. You can quote this for reading a year or two later  Wink
Soon enough peeps will get tired of those launches and most clones will be forgotter rather quickly.

If we want Digit to succeed, then we need to help all we can. Coin with no community backing it is not going to have any value.

Must start with OP, read whole thread then check this out. http://chain.dreamcoin.me/richlist/index.php?min=0 .

Oh. So its magically impossible to simply create a new DRM private key?

I get sick of this. First they start fud on premine. After Who is the dev? After they cant make zerocoin implement. After Stealing code. Now you start.
Yes all coins have whale. Whale will dump. But this coin will recover so quick. Because rare coin. And dev really know what he doing.

Relax. I was just building some awareness. I will stop now.  Smiley

Dont be naive. Sell as soon as whales start dumping.
Its same script over and over again with all new hyped coins. How many times you one needs to make same mistake over and over again until one learns?

Don't look #1 its exchange or pool. Biggest whales only have 49,891.55 DRM. I know some whales they will not going to sell any soon. This coin have really good dev. In the future yes some whales will dump some not.

If biggest whale want to dump when we are 100k.  (49,891.55 DRM): 49.96583650 BTC.  Do you think 50~ BTC will hurt to price ? DRM rare coin. Most of us still try to buy more.

If you really believe that biggest whales have under 50K then good luck to you!  Cheesy

MYR, WDC, DOGE - all for a long run.

For quick profit. Any of the currently hyped coins. DRM is probably one of the hottest.

And then theres one interesting one: DIG. It currently gets very small attention, so it costs pretty much nothing to mine some before large blocks end.

Hahah. Looks like this is the next hyped coin. Following with interest!

sorry for my ignorance....how we mine alone?

Thanks for the help. Smiley

There are plenty of solo mining guides and its really easy.
in your Digit.conf file make sure you have:

rpcuser= anynamehere
rpcpassword= anypasshere
rpcport= anyfreeporthere
server=1

If you are running cgminer and wallet on same PC then 127.0.0.1 as IP and user, pass, port as in your Digit.conf file.

i dont understand why i need to import my private key to Swissminers.com Digit Pool ??

if i give him my private key they can get my coins.

You do not need to generate your key on their site. Its a free option. You can also use your wallet receiving address as usual.

all pools are down, cannot even solo mine, the network has been abandoned?

Why cant you solo mine? Whats stopping you? Check the block explorer. Digit network is running just fine!

I would be interested to read mintcointeam statement regarding this. Just to settle it down already.

Theres plenty of wallets open regularly. Not a problem for security.
Forget the coin cap. Its just a number which is not going to be hit any time soon. Its more than 10 years away.

Still waiting for anyone to fix the unlocking bug.

How about reducing the coin total to 50 billion instead of 70 billion. Then a new minting period could be outlined with an initial minting period of 80% in ONE month, then 40% for the next 2 months, 20% for the next 4 months, 10% for the next 8 months, 5% for the next 16 months, then it would be 2.5% minting every year from then on.

I know this would require a lot of changes and it might not be possible but in my opinion it would generate a lot of new interest.

Imagine the hype and buying that would be generated from an 80% minting period of one month. with 80% minting if you had 600000 MINT you could increase it to a million. In my opinion there is not a lot of incentive for Mintcoin because the Proof of Stake rewards are low. If you did this people would probably change their minds and rush to buy MINT. Because then minting will look like a great alternative to mining. And people will have a reason to consider buying MINT before the minting "halves" and the big minting rewards decrease.

Just an idea I had...

Changing the ground rules in the middle of the game is pretty much never a good idea.
Especially if the change is as radical as this.
Not going to happen.
Personally i would ditch my stake of Mintcoin immediately, if developer would announce a hard fork which completely changes how coin was initially designed. Mintcoin and its developer would lose all credibility because you would never know what comes next...

OP says that you will get +20% in first year. Thats what you get for your unmoved coins.
It cant be any more clearer than this.

Pretty much all coins have yearly interest periods. Only percentages varies.
The only coin which i know to have different interest period is Digit. Digit interest period is 30 days instead of being 1 year.

Edit: I think there also was one sha256 coin which had period shorter than 1 year. I dont remember its name tho.

just wondering if there was any thoughts in adding X11?
And what would be solid argument for adding this?
I see no point whatsoever.
