1081  Economy / Speculation / Re: Would Bitcoin price reach $10K by the end of 2017? on: November 20, 2017, 04:26:24 PM
Please move this thread to Economics>Speculation.
The problem here is that nobody can give you an accurate answer. Everyone would love to see BTC hit $10k by the year's end and current trends wouldd suggest that it is indeed possible. Having been said, trends aren't anything to stand by and the price can drop drastically in the few weeks we have left of 2017.
1082  Economy / Speculation / Re: How has this year's action affected your attitude and plans? on: November 20, 2017, 03:56:52 PM
HODL HODL HODL.
That’s the long term plan  Grin
1083  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dump/Correction @ 10k on: November 20, 2017, 08:40:27 AM
$10,000 will be the point at which BTC will be taken seriously by all those who doubted it. Over the last week or so I’ve met friends and family who have all told me that they’ve now bought into BTC. Once we pass the $10k mark I think those who were calling it a bubble will start buying in themselves. More people would want to get in on the bandwagon and the price will continue to rise (at a slower rate due to the number of people who’d sell part of their coins at that price point).
1084  Economy / Speculation / Re: He began to grow again! on: November 19, 2017, 06:09:25 PM
This is more suited to Economics>Specualtion.
You can move the topic on the bottom left corner of the thread.
To answer your question I think it's still early days. I personally think we'll hit $9,000 by the year's end. Bitcoin is become much more mainstream and invested in by increasing numbers of people.
1085  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is an Asset or Currency? on: November 19, 2017, 01:25:53 PM
In accounting cash/currency is actually considered an asset.
Bitcoin is an asset in the sense that it has value and a currency as it is a recognised and accepted form of payment. The two aren’t mutually exclusive.
1086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Students in Istanbul are Taken into Custody due to Marihuana Order w Bitcoin on: November 19, 2017, 09:45:23 AM
Exactly as others have mentioned. Buying drugs (regardless of their class) is illegal no matter what payment method is used. Whenever drugs are found in customs they are either confiscated or passed in to the police who often decide to carry out a set up delivery to the address. They then raid the hous when the package is accepted/signed for. The issue here wasn’t that they paid BTC for drugs but the fact that they bought drugs. The only thing this story does is negatively portray Bitcoin because of the assumptions made.
1087  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BTC prediction [BETA] on: November 19, 2017, 02:36:01 AM
The predications for BTC, LTC and IOTA are practically the same albeit with a reduction in gradients as you go down the cryptos. How exactly did you predict these prices? What factors went into calculating them?
The site itself could do with a lot of work (if you want it to be taken seriously). Aside from explaining the basis behind the predictions the site UI needs a lot of work and change.
Good luck!
1088  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CryptoFigures.com - NEW PROJECT (LOOKING FOR PARTNER) on: November 19, 2017, 02:32:56 AM
You’ve got things the wrong way round.
An important lesson in business for te future is that the idea comes first. Never spend money on a business if here’s no concept/idea behind it. Once you have the idea and have started implementing it then worry about the domain/site/branding etc.
In essesne your post is looking for a ‘partner’ who’ll share their idea with you, have to implement most of it themselves all in exchange for a domain name that has limited potential.

If you’re a developer then it’s a bit of a different story but nonetheless should know that you don’t buy domains for a project you don’t have.

Domain buying is impulsive (I was guilty of it at one stage too) but lost enough to realise that unless you have something concrete, 9/10 times it doesn’t pay off.
1089  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Platforms where others trade your money to create profit for you on: November 19, 2017, 02:26:50 AM
If you’re looking to make money through trades then why limit it to just crypto? If anything, diversifying would be much better. There are sites like eToro (as well as others) that have a copy trade system. You find your account with a certain figure and then set parameters as well as the people you want to follow and your account automatically emulates their trades (buying and selling).
Realistically speaking though, nobody is going to trust a group of readers. If it’s not an official site/Company then nobody will invest...

Maybe that is the case.  Replied quickly when I asked where he was but haven't heard back since when I said I wanted to purchase using escrow.

I am also interested. already sent PM to OP about this 2 days ago. but so far no any reply. lets see if OP is really serious or  he's wasting time here. if he think someone pay him without escrow he should know this will not happen.

Whatever you do make sure not to send any payment (even lartial) I less it’s to a verified escrow. Accepting escrow and then backtracking is not uncommon with scam attempts I’m not saying with certainty that that’s what this is but proceed with caution.
1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: WTB: $20 Eth with PayPal on: November 18, 2017, 11:15:56 PM
Move your thread to the currency ecachme section to get more results.
Having been said, few users would want to trade with new members using PayPal. The risk involved is just too great. You’d find more sellers accepting other (non-reversible) payment methods.

if the member is trustworthy i can send as gift. no fees & no private details exchanged. i will try the currency section.

Sending as a gift isn’t necessarily irreversible. If a user claims that their account was hacked and the funds sent were unauthorised then PayPal could still reverse it. Most users wouldn’t be protested for the risk/hassle involved so best just try using a different payment method.
1092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What to use for ICO? Paper or hardware wallet? on: November 18, 2017, 06:00:47 PM
Use a hardware wallet combined with devices (computer systems) that are clean and completely disconnected. You’d want to do everything you can to keep the coins 100% safe. It’s not worth taking any chances. Paper wallets could be too risky so if you’ve got the alternative then go for it. Make sure that the source of the hardware wallets used have been verified before purchase.

1094  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: creating crowdfunding for whistleblowers on: November 18, 2017, 05:48:24 PM
What’s the model? Why would individuals back the project? I fail to see the incentive here or just have a complete misunderstanding of the actual concept...

In response to most of the questions - Yes I will accept escrow if we can agree on a company that is trusted to do so.

In response to "I want to buy a few" I only have one. I'm not a store, It's my personal laptop I purchased that I do not want to keep. Sorry.

There is no 'company' per say but rather a few respected and trusted members on this forum that act as an escrow.
They make sure there's an agreement and provide an escrow address to hold the funds in. Once the product has been received and the buyer confirms receipt then they release the funds to the seller (post-fee).
If there are any issues then they are involved with the mediation.
Hope that helps.
1096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Survey- How many BTC do you have frozen on Vircurex? on: November 17, 2017, 02:44:06 PM
Wow. I completely forgot about this. For what its worth, it might be worthwhile to find others in the same boat and start with a class-action lawsuit against them. I know something similar happened with Cryptsy so perhaps the same could be done here...
1097  Economy / Speculation / Re: if you were ever in doubt about the scale of money prinitng going on.... on: November 17, 2017, 02:39:28 PM
Hahaha this is crazy, have you ever noticed that a lot of people are laundering money through those paintings? I heard about a painting from a unknown person who was valued on 2 million dollars, it was created by someone who was a normal person like you, and me.
But there are some organizations who are entire dedicated to try to launder money by this way, i doubt that this case is one of those, but it is pretty weird to see that they are putting a price of 592 millions just for a painting.

I doubt this is a case of money laundering. You're talking about one of the largest auction houses in the world as well as one of the most famous artists to date.
Regarding the OP, I don't see anything wrong with this. Art is subjective and if a person/collector can afford this piece at the price he/she is willing to pay then so be it.
Every industry has inflation of all sorts. Professional athletes/entertainers are paid insane amounts of money because they are responding to a high demand for entertainments and sport. The same applies to art and other niches. The market responds to the demand. This auction set a record to date and I'm sure it will be beaten at some point in the near future. The market price was determined by natural market forces at the end of the day.
1098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Potential GDAX Listings on: November 17, 2017, 02:30:57 PM
They have already send e-mail notifications (good for them and for us), about B2X. I guess it's the same with Segwit2x.
If they don't list/add some extra coins, stable and with good volume they will be behind from all the other exchangers.
I am not saying that you (as an exchanger) have to have them all (coins, tokens etc) but you have to have more than three and expand.

Of course i totally agree with this, that's the main purpose after all...

Whatever will be most profitable for them.
Every exchange do send emails if you did subscribe into their alerts and listing information would really be there and I complete agree on the fact that they are always looking into coins to be listed where they would able to make money or profits. Exchanges are businesses which they would normally choose up coins and would compete any other exchanges too.I don't have the listings since I didn't subscribe into them.

Well not necessarily. There are plenty of listings that list every coin and alt that pops up. These often included the random tokens that don't have much volume. If you look at coinmarketcap there are over 1000 coins listed and that doesn't included the myriad of coins that are launched weekly. GDAX have a reputation to uphold so would be selective in their choosing hence only the top alts that have a high average daily trading volume.
1099  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Exchange on: November 17, 2017, 02:09:07 PM
Personally I don’t see the need for it. The most costly part involved with an exchange is the development. If you’re all set on that front then there’s no real need to launch an ICO. Send me a PM with specific info and if the project is worthy I’ll forward it on to some contacts. I know a couple of individuals who are looking to launch a new exchange. Thanks
1100  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Bitcoin Astronaut Art, Limited to 50 (NEW!) on: November 17, 2017, 11:41:51 AM
This is awesome! Absolutely love the art (although I think a Cas Coin would have looked better Tongue). How does shipping to the U.K. work? I’ll be interested in participating in the auction and if all else fails then I’ll try picking up a canvas at some point.
