Bad. I hoped more than some whale had cashed out during the " falling" of price... I think that unfair distribution of wealth is the biggest flaw of btc design.
This is not about BTC design, but about the very nature of money and capitalism. Even if the initial distribution was made in such a way that everyone started with the same amount, it would eventually return back to a few people.

Who is proposing this? Who thinks this is a good idea?

How would you guarantee that nobody could develop a computer that gets the same results as the people meditating?

All these cool ways to mine bit coins are not at all efficient but more of a novelty item. Just like that way to mine bit coins using pen and paper.
Nobody is talking about mining in this thread but rather about generating keys.

As a matter of fact, if Bitcoin actually were to fail, I would sink with it, since I'm here for the technology, and not for the quick get rich

Nakamoto is Center point in Japanese or CENTRAL
Satoshi is wisdom or knowlege in Japanese
Loosely translated Nakamoto Satoshi (Japanese sirnames go first) means
CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE
Some are saying bct is an NSA project or SN is a rogue NSA spy.
Not my theory personally, but it's on several sites and has been around for a while.
It sure does explain why no one can find him/her/them.
The problem with this theory is that “knowledge” and “intelligence” are not synonyms.

after all no one says microtonnes of gold or millitones of gold.
1 µt = 1gram. 1 mt= 1kg Tonne is weird: we call it a tonne instead of a Mega-gram (Mg). I think the SI base-unit for mass is the kg, further adding to the confusion. /tangent Maybe we should rename the kilogram. What do you think, do we make a poll for it?

A 3-year reorg would mean I effectively lose all my coins (since I bought them 2 years ago). Also, I do undersand that the protocol changes (and I know about the hard forks that have already happened), but losing my coins because of changes in the protocol goes against everything Bitcoin promises.
You know that possibility is not very likely. Exactly, that was my point. It was kind of sarcastic. I have full confidence that it's astronomically improbable.

If we have satoshis why can't we have nakamotos?
100 satoshis= 1 nakamoto
Why not? : )
Two units named after the same person doesn't seem good to me...

I think staying away from bit might be a good idea as it is a commonly used term in other places.
100 Sats or Satoshis isnt a bad word or 100 Micro Bits
milli-litres, millimetres, micrograms, microwave ovens, microbes, microphones, microsoft ull find micro and milli is used a hell of alot more in real conversations than bit. though i like the term bit because its 3 digits of a BITcoin, same as 100 is 3 digits. im kind of leaning towards a 'finney' after all no one says microtonnes of gold or millitones of gold. They say “ounces of gold”, but that's because of the flawed Imperial system. Just because the US is using it doesn't mean everyone should follow them. Also, about the 3 letters of “bit”, that sounds more poetic than an actual logical reason to choose it.

Of course, there's always the possibility that this block will be orphaned in an epic 3-year reorg, but that doesn't seem too likely.
If such a reorg happens, then I won't bother with Bitcoin ever again. You shouldn't assume that Bitcoin will stay in the same form for its entire life. That almost never happens with anything. What version of OS are you using? Is it the same as the first one you ever used? Probably not, right? Changes to the code happen all the time and major changes can happen at any time. I just hope all future changes end up for the better and none of them end up splitting the users into two camps. A 3-year reorg would mean I effectively lose all my coins (since I bought them 2 years ago). Also, I do undersand that the protocol changes (and I know about the hard forks that have already happened), but losing my coins because of changes in the protocol goes against everything Bitcoin promises.

Title says it all really.
Title says nothing at all. What have you tried? The simple way is to send your total balance to your MultiBit address.

We need something plain and simple, not micro bits or ultra micro bits and whatever. Keep it plain and simple.
“Milli” and “micro” are SI units. Where did that “ultra” came from, did you make it up? If “milli” and “micro” are not simple enough, then I don't know what can be.

You can't have the last full Bitcoin. The exact number of Bitcoins to be produced is 20999999.97690000

The Onion is obviously satire, but is Daily Mail meant to be serious?
No, Daily Mail isn't meant to be taken seriously. If you go over to the U.K, rarely are they taken seriously as a secondary source. Some of the articles are good but most of them are over the top and exaggerated. I guess America's (Yup, I'm a 'Murican.) equivalent would possibly be CW or, as Lethn said, Fox News. If you don't know what CW is, it's basically a network of affiliate stations that in most areas, suck at delivering good news or repeatedly reporting outdated material. I don't mean if people take it seriously. I mean if the authors present themselves as serious. The Onion certainly does not (see FAQ).

why you need change your name ? respect your parents.
There are some parents that want to name their baby girl Satoshi Bitcoin... These acts should be forbidden somehow. I wouldn't want to be called AMIGA or Z80 just because my parents liked computers. yes, the parents should thinking what happen if the name will be out to date. I mean what happen if in 10 years bitcoin / satoshi no longer exist, every years we got new stuff and technology coming in. Well, Satoshi is a real Japanese name, so I don't see any problem with the hype fading away.

Not quite. It has ads, and most videos are previews, so that you go to the site of the creator and buy the full version.

You guys seriously need to stop reading Daily Mail articles >_>
I don't think anyone really takes most of the articles on the Daily Mail seriously. It's like getting offended by The Onion. But, D.M is good for a great laugh so you have to give them that. And it's funny when some people do take it seriously... The Onion is obviously satire, but is Daily Mail meant to be serious?

I am so tired of seeing that stupid blog with headlines like "mining Bitcoin with pen and paper". He only calculated four bytes of one round of SHA256 by hand. An Ivy Bridge CPU can do full SHA256 stream at 13 cycles/byte. It is not even related to Bitcoin except that it makes for a trendy headline.
They are doing it just for fun. Why don't you let people have fun?
