10901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DASH Collapsing Monero UP on: September 09, 2016, 07:48:32 AM
Any idea when Dash will be out of the top 10? I believe their development team have lost focus and now cannot catch up with Monero. They also shifted their strategy and want to become a legitimate payment platform. But how can they compete with the giant bitcoin?

Synereo Unveils Tech Behind Its Decentralized Web

Decentralized computing startup Synereo has revealed more details about its Technology Stack, as it also prepares for another fundraising campaign.

Synereo said the Technology Stack, which is still a work in progress, is scheduled for full release in Q4 2017.

...

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/synereo-unveils-tech-behind-its-decentralized-web-1473099722

I knew all of that already and none of those details change my opinion that Synereo offers nothing. Search for my posts archive for "Synereo" for my prior analysis.

And end of 2017 for release will very likely be too late.

I agree. By that time the cryptosphere has moved on to other things already. Or maybe there will come out a decentralized social network on top of Lisk or maybe Steemit has evolved into something better. But it would help to be open to the idea that it might be a success still but also do not forget that a large % of the time many of them fail.
10903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has Dashpay given up on privacy? on: September 09, 2016, 03:33:41 AM
Dash is failing after repackaging their image 2 or 3 times it will not help them gain traction. If I was the founder I will accept defeat and start another project from scratch. Also his reputation is not so good after the ninjamine and instamine stories. His greed and scheming ways is not admirable in the idealistic nature of the cryptosphere.
10904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to the DAO??? on: September 09, 2016, 03:25:31 AM
I find it fishy that they are still promoting the DAO even if it has failed. It is already delisted on Poloniex and I assume at other exchanges too. Is there a reason why they are promoting a failed scheme? Are they reviving it?
10905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Introduction to the Ethereum-based Golem Project on: September 09, 2016, 03:17:11 AM
If it really indeed has clean intentions then this could be a good idea. There are many useful projects that require computational power and if Golem can offer a cheap alternative then why not use them?

It will help all of us if you post a profile of the project and their development team. Some of us are lazy to use Google. Wink
10906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex's usury supported altcoin trading platform on: September 09, 2016, 03:11:13 AM
I do not get what you are pointing at. Do you mean the lending of coins going on in the site? I think it is up to the user's prerogative if he should borrow or not. What I like about it is you can choose at what interest rate you borrow and no one is imposing any rates on you unlike the traditional banking system.
10907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking Web or mobile wallet on: September 09, 2016, 03:05:12 AM
I believe in NXT you can lease your account to join a forging pool. I am not 100% sure with this so it would be good to ask in their community.
10908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When Bitcoin will become fungible like Monero? on: September 09, 2016, 03:00:52 AM
Bitcoin will not be anonymous as Monero, currently there is not such Bitcoin technology, so Monero of course have large advantages in the crypto market. Bitcoin have advantage in the market as largest crypto coin and Nr. 1 in the world  Grin

It can be anonymous according to John Connor. He is developing Vcash and chain blender and according to him chain blender can be added in bitcoin as a solution to make personal anonymity possible. I hope we can find someone who can refute this claim and start a new discussion about it. It will be an interesting topic.

Here is the statement of John Connor about chain blender.

"Therefore the Vcash client-side blending solution is the best currently existing for personal anonymity and can be added to any crypto-asset including Bitcoin in a backwards compatible manner and it is 100% LE proof"

10909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE RISE AND RISE OF MONERO on: September 09, 2016, 02:52:47 AM
Bitcoin value will increase as it exits the Dark Net Marketplaces.  (Remember what happened after the Silk Road bust?  New ATH)
Monero value will increase as it enters the DNMs.

Right place and right time for both.

Agreed.

With being on the cusp of financial calamity alternative assets/currencies will likely revalue to the upside in the impending global economic contraction (i.e. recession and possibly beginning of a depression).

I suspect in the next 2-4 months the financial world will have some huge rumblings.

Are you sure? Only in 2-4 months? That is very close to happening and on time for christmas too. For you, what will be the catalyst of the new economic or financial collapse?

If there really is one that is going to happen I speculate that the governments around the world will again print $trillions worth of fiat to stimulate the falling economy. They will not allow a real collapse to happen just like in 2008.
10910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: VCash: Is it over? on: September 09, 2016, 02:45:21 AM
Massacred? I do not think so. The price is still ok and it might only be correcting. Also red candles? What red candles? They are all green except for two or three. Cheesy

While we are here can anybody explain how Vcash's chain blender could be better than the other anonymous coin's way of anonymizing transactions? Or are there really any advantages?
10911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we in an altcoin bear market? on: September 09, 2016, 02:37:36 AM
The other question would be if we were in a bull market in the first place. The only coins that I have seen make big gains are ETH and then XMR. The rest have made some but they could not be considered big. In a real bull market everyone makes money even the newbies. Make any pick and that will be a winner most of the time.
10912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The DAO Disaster Illustrates Differing Philosophies in Bitcoin and Ethereum on: September 09, 2016, 02:25:17 AM
That could be the reason why there are some many ETC shills in the forum to promote the scam coin now.

Scam coin? You don't seem to understand that ETC is the original ether. You are saying that ethereum has always been a scam, but the new ethereum is not. I have to respectfully disagree with you.

You should not be affected by comments from a newbie account that clearly looks like someone from a click farm. They are only trying to make posts and increase activity level. It is already being investigated and please check this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1597201.0

On the topic of ETC being the scam, yes I also disagree. What scam did the ETC supporters commit? The questionable move that was made is from Vitalik's hard fork to reverse transactions.
10913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC = Most obvious way to double your money right now on: September 08, 2016, 05:01:34 AM
The resistance is too great to over come. Maybe give it a month or 2 months before the price starts going up. I can see that it ready to go down again after a small rise in price. The whales must have given up for now or they are only accumulating right now with no intention to pump the price.
10914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The battle over online privacy (Dash / Monero / Zcash) on: September 08, 2016, 04:57:25 AM
Dash has become really popular as compared to those two.but it also comes with anonymity privacy.its better to invest in dash rather than monero as it market is rising and price has greatly rised up.

I disagree. Dash's master nodes are not a good way to make your coins anonymous because "a government, group of hackers, other entity, or even an individual bought many masternodes (there would be no way to know if this occured), and if the transaction passed through a route where all of the masternodes were owned by that entity, then the transaction could be traced by that entity."

If you want to read more about the comparisons of anonymous coins read it here https://moneroforcash.com/monero-vs-dash-vs-zcash-vs-bitcoinmixers.php

That should be enough information for you to know the difference and the superiority of Monero.
10915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 203 Miocic vs. Overeem on: September 07, 2016, 11:12:03 AM
This one will be epic, I always enjoy the huge heavyweight fights. I think Overeem will win, he can become dominant again. I think the steroids scandal fucked his mind up for a long time, but he is recovering now. Let's just hope he doesnt get caught again and ends up like Jon Bones Jones.

Yes. I think so too. I predict that the game plan of Overeem will be to keep his distance and avoid getting in Miocic's boxing range. Overeem has to utilize his kicks and his agility here. He is faster and more athletic compared to his opponent so he could have the slight advantage here.
10916  Other / Meta / Re: Account farming. Allowed? on: September 07, 2016, 11:01:53 AM
This thread should be shown to all campaign managers that accept newbie accounts to member accounts. Those campaigns are vulnerable to the click farmers exploitation. Unless some of the campaigns are also part of the scheme.
10917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: September 07, 2016, 10:46:19 AM

Any of you dumping ETH for ETC?
All Ethereum investors are doing that except those emotionally attached to the ETHF, because Ethereum central bank (aka Ethereum Foundation) attempted to bail them out of failed DAO.

I do not think this is true. ETH's support at 186k satoshis is still holding strong. I have been following this and I have been waiting for it to break down. So far nothing is happening.
10918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: September 07, 2016, 10:38:17 AM
I know! Who is making this pump and what is the news? This is surprising because it came from nothing. A little more information from the community will be helpful.
10919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE RISE AND RISE OF MONERO on: September 07, 2016, 10:34:56 AM
@Digitalbitcoin. Also do point out that it is going up also because of the people speculating on XMR. I do not believe there is a high enough "demand" at this point because it is still newly accepted in the darknet. Maybe in the future it will be but not today.
But if you base the volume of Monero in one of the trading site which Poloniex, it is the biggest under the altcoins and it has an abrupt increase, I think this year will be the year for Monero and it has overtaken the Etherium already in terms of price. Me, I will just ride with it and continue doing some day trading with monero.

Of course because that is where a large % of the trading volume is coming from. If you have a source of the data of the volume of XMR's buying and selling by the vendors and users from the darknet market then we can compare them with the current volume in the exchanges. How many of those XMR buyers now are buying to use it in the darknet market for illegal drugs and other illegal items? $1 million, $2 million worth or more? That should be enough to ping the FBI to let them start to investigate.

Also what is the safer way to buy XMR to use in the darknet? Shapeshift? What is the current volume of XMR trades there?

10920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: September 07, 2016, 07:29:29 AM
@mtnsaa. We will see. For me that strong support is the last for now. If that breaks I speculate that ETH will fall below 150k satoshis or lower. Maybe this is the first of the altcoin bear market starting again? I am seeing Dash is also falling down now.

I think you can't compare ETH to Dash really. 99% of altcoins are based on hype and potential and I'm sure we'll have plenty of rumors and progress updates on devcon 2 as I detailed plus the exposure to the chinese market. That's what I'm betting on, however the entry point is not clear to me (if only it was that easy!). I don't want to get greedy expecting prices below 150k...I don't think that's very probable in the short term unless there are some very bad news coming (alas EF being investigated by the FBI/SEC or any other dirty details about the hack).

For that scenario I do have some very low buys set close to 0.01 and well below, but I'm not convinced this would be a possibility. To me the DAO and the hard fork were devastating scenarios for ETH and look what happened. I was expecting prices to be around $1-4 bucks at some point...they never came and now the price has basically doubled to where it was before the DAO ICO started.

This means Ethereum, their supporters, devs and overall interest on its tech from investors and traders won't go away any time soon.

But is it not that ETH is also based on hype and promises at this point right now? There is no real world use case for Ethereum right now and all the value it is getting in its market cap is all from speculative investment. Not one company is using it to offer products and services that we could truly believe that matter to the ordinary person.
