10901  Economy / Economics / Re: Feeling the burn on: June 03, 2017, 05:39:54 PM
You missed the opportunity to buy when bitcoin dip to as low as $1800 a few weeks ago and now is has recovered to $2500. But just like what I advise others, if you have to money to buy, then go get bitcoin because the chance of it increasing is very likely. And also you should invest what you can afford to lose. So at least you mitigate your risk when things went up downhill. You can also buy just a small portion and try to observe the market trend. So in case their is a dip, it will not be a big loss for you. Goodluck mate. It is still your decision to buy or wait.
10902  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gunman in Resorts World Manila on: June 03, 2017, 04:51:25 PM
The police haven't release any video's yet. Just clippings from the CCTV of Resorts World. It was said that he was yelling that he was ISIS before firing but the police haven't verified it yet. Looks like President Duterte has visited the wake of some of the victims specially 2 who is still unclaimed. The wake of the most of the victims is also near my place, and tonight when I was about to go home, roads were closed and re-routed and a lot of police around. Didn't bother to look though as security is very tight and a lot of media as well. Travel bans coming from USA and Australia if I'm not mistaken was already release in the Philippines. This will put the country in bad light again, damn frustrating and disappointed as Filipino.
10903  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: So I want to get into trading. on: June 02, 2017, 07:44:18 PM
Obviously, I need BTC to get in but it seems like everything is high right now.  Should I wait till BTC is < 2k? Or ETH < 200? I'd like to get in and start trading alt coins.  But for me to maximize my profits in USD I need to wait till BTC is at a reasonable cost.  Or do you guys see it climbing to 3k in the next couple of months?

First, we can't really predict the path of bitcoin price. But for me the price is strong and most likely to go up in the next couple of weeks.

You should have bought btc's when the price dip at around $1800-$1900 last week. But since the price is slowly moving upward now to $2300-$2400, so I doubt it will go down to sub $2000 again. If you can afford to buy it now then I suggest get some small portion of it and see how the trend moves. Just remember that invest on what you can afford to lose so that at least you can mitigate your risk. Goodluck to you.
10904  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason of increasing bitcoin price on: June 02, 2017, 07:05:36 PM
For sure japan making it a legal tender has contributed, but I think more companies have seen the potential of bitcoin and with that both consumers and companies invested a lot of money into this new blockchain area.

I also agree that Japan has contributed to the price we are having now and that has brought some new positive tendencies. That also affected the situation of demand and supply and the thing that Bitcoin is becoming more accepted and by now is important player in the new world of finances.
Because of Japan, many more countries are now following the same path. Before, People used to think that bitcoin is a currency for illegal activities. But now after many countries accepting bitcoin. People are optimistic about it. Demand have increased. Here in India, the demand have increased a lot in past few weeks.

Legalizing bitcoin in Japan really bring a heavy impact to the bitcoin price and can consider as one of the reason why we are sitting today at above $2,000. But it doesn't mean because of that, we can say that more countries following the same path. Can you tell me one country who follows the same just because Japan did a thing?

The actual reason for a country to accept bitcoin is not because they saw other countries accepting it but because they conclude an ouput by analyzing all positive and negative thing that bitcoin can do once it was legalized and can be used freely as a currency on a certain country. As far as I remember, it took years of study before Japan accepts bitcoin. Same with other country, still on progress of analyzing before it will officially accepted as currency to be used.

I think as far back as 2014, Japan has been studying about embracing bitcoin and making it legal to their country. I think the Mt. Gox incident has took them a back in their decision. And just last April they finally make it a legal tender. I think more liberal country will follow what Japan did, but it will probably takes years though because they really need to analyze every aspect of it, specially the financial impact it can bring to their nation. We just have to see what Australia impact as well on the ecosystem come July 1. We may see a new price surge as what Japan bring to the market when they legalized it. Japan has already started a tsunami, we will just have to wait and see if other country will follow it up.
10905  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA FINALS (Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers) on: June 02, 2017, 06:06:24 PM
I'm really super excited to see Game 1. I agree with everyone saying that Durant will be key difference this year with Golden State. We all know how good Durant is, but this is his first NBA Champion so we don't know if he is going to choke or to rise on the occasion. On the other hand, we already saw how good Lebron specially in last year's final and overcome a 3-1 deficit to win the trophy. The team that has more heart and hungry will win the trophy and I predict that it will be Golden State Warrior this year.
Actually, this is not Kevin Durant’s first trip to the Finals, but it has been a while since he last played in a stage as big as this. Remember that some years back, the trio of him, Westbrook and Harden (along with Ibaka) faced the Miami Heat in the Finals and lose the series in five games. They were very young then so this series could mean more for him, and that he is now being surrounded by more experienced teammates.

Hey thanks for reminding me. Yeah this is not the first for Kevin Durant thanks again.  Grin

I think he did very solid in Game 1. I was quite surprise to see him guarding Lebron James and he really makes its hard for Lebron to score. He defended every possession and there is one particular instance were he challenged Lebron all the way to the basket making James missed a lay up. He is the main difference for Golden State now and their chances of going 2-0 is really looking good. Its kinda exciting to see Game 1 but got a little boring because of the blow out win. Good win for Golden State.
10906  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-01] Bitcoin may hit $4,000 by the end of the year: Analyst on: June 02, 2017, 04:59:01 PM
I see more and more news coming from market analyst specially from CNBC. Looks like they are interested now on bitcoin and having this news in the mainstream will put bitcoin market in the front for most investors. But nothing really new though for us to see, the reason he just pointed out has been with us for the last month or so. But still, bitcoin has not captured some mainstream media and this could be very positive for the bitcoin market ecosystem and I hope new investors will put additional cash flow to the already booming bitcoin ecosystem.
10907  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gunman in Resorts World Manila on: June 02, 2017, 04:12:34 PM
Prayers for those who died. One of my friend witnessed that and by looking at her while telling me the story, she is really frightened and traumatized. It's only few miles away from my workplace.

There are lots of questions revolving around the incident, is it destabilization? terrorism? or just a person who have a grudge to the casino that maybe got loss in the past? I will follow the story.

ISIS claimed this, just now (RSS just bilpped). Trump actually got this one right, and I will comment that ISIS is putting up fucking MCDonald's numbsrs this year. I had a feeling about this, that the police were wrong. If I came to resort to rob chips, you wouldn't know. You don't strongarm a casino, coming out with kills immediately is not the way you rob something like this. And not by oneself, you would need a team for something like this.

God preserve these people and their families. More tragedy, its getting worse people. Its not just this, the terrorism. We are sliding down, across the board. Maybe Im not old enough, but Ive never seen anything like this.

Que the anti Islam rhetoric in 5,4,3,2,1...

The security at these place is not that tight as it looks like, many people know that with even a lot of securities, they can still go in many ways. And based on the reports of the police, the gunman is alone and no one is with him the time he did the robbery, that is why, I am being dissapointed on how the security did not catch the loneman.

This. You know I have been in RW Manila many many times back in my height of my addiction to gambling. I told you I was a silver member of this club. And security in there was pretty tight. From the moment you enter, dog sniffing, bomb-squad, 2 camera's before you can enter the parking space. So I don't know how this madmen was able to enter the premises without security noticing something is not right. So for God's sake, I don't what the security was doing to prevent this tragedy. I blame it all on the security, for fucking this one. RW Manila was put into a bad light and the Philippines for the matter. And I'm so sorry for those who have lost their lives. RW Manila has already losing their customers because of COD (City of Dreams) and Solaire casino and now this incident might added another 25% lost of customers. Too bad for them.
10908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Market Opportunities? on: June 01, 2017, 07:59:20 PM
Bitcoin prices are on the rise, what do you think are some opportunities that Bitcoin can bring to the community?

From what I see, BTC remains as a cryptocurrency for investments, business/online services, and we are not seeing a lot of these BTC in our communities (yet).

What are some ways to promote and make use of BTC in our daily lives? An Example I can think of is to make Bitcoin payment through mobile easier, like AndroidPay.

You will not see a member sharing how many bitcoin investment he/she has that's why you don't see it much discuss in our community for security purpose.

For business/online services, I think there are few I saw that is putting business and accepting bitcoin payment. You go try explore marketplace thread. Personally, I have a offline business and I just used bitcoin as additional cashflow. If I needed a new capital I just withdraw my bitcoin and convert it to fiat then put the money in my offline business.
10909  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-01]OKCoin Allow 10-200 BTC Withdrawn to External Address Daily on: June 01, 2017, 07:13:01 PM
It'd be pretty weird of Chinese exchanges to continue having these limits for any longer than a couple of weeks.

To a Chinese whale who manipulates the price of one of these exchanges or does high-volume arbitrage trading, a withdrawal limit of 10 BTC is nothing.  A million dollars or so in a year is meaningless to some of them.

I'd be very surprised if LocalBitcoins trading was accepted by the Chinese government as well considering the regulations they want to impose on Bitcoin trading.

In my opinion the limits has nothing to do with whales and manipulation, but rather an attempt to "control" a out flow of bitcoins from these

regulated exchanges. A lot of Chinese Bitcoin users has already moved on and would, given the opportunity to do it, move ALL their coins out

of these exchanges. They know this is going to happen and they want to slow it down.  Wink

Exactly. They know that there will be a "panic withdrawing" and control such activity, they have to put a limit so that big whales can't moved their money as fast as they want. And they have probably anticipated this kind of scenario that why they have put it. The question is after withdrawing, where would the big whales put their money to? Are they going to put in back then try to manipulate the price of bitcoin again? Or are they going to put and pump alt-coin instead? We need to keep a close eye on them as we all know how Chinese before manipulated the price and the trading volumes of bitcoin market.
10910  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Terrorist siege in the Philippines. on: June 01, 2017, 06:21:25 PM
Since the last time I checked this news, the terrorists seems to be weak and weak after all. According to the military, they take over 90% of the Marawi City. Hopefully the terrorists would surrender to the police. Hopefully this tragedy would be solve. Let's just pray for the country.

We can never be too sure. Remember these barbarians have bombed a train, a mall, and a passenger ship before.

No wait, it seems there's no hope for this country. Just look at the amount of people rejoicing the soldiers' death in this group... https://www.facebook.com/groups/BNewsView/

Ugh, saw it. The group is a sickening cesspool of hate and fundamentalism.

BTW everyone, this is what they're rejoicing about, a botched airstrike which left some soldiers dead....

http://edition.cnn.com/2017/06/01/asia/philippines-soldiers-killed-airstrike-isis/index.html?sr=fbcnni060117philippines-soldiers-killed-airstrike-isis0930AMVODtopLink&linkId=38236124

I just saw it in the news today. Friendly fire which killed 11 soldiers and wounding several. This is not the first time though that a friendlies kills its own soldier. Just a little frustrated and felt pity for those soldiers who have died. This is very unfortunate indeed and I think an inquiry is being made, investigations rolling out to find the root cause so that this kind of accident can be prevented in the future.

And regarding the shooting at Resort World Manila (damn I miss going to RW I used to play their everyday. I have a  silver card at RW Grin) reports are still sketchy. We still don't know who is behind the shooting.
10911  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculating on the effect of UASF on the price of BTC on: June 01, 2017, 05:47:59 PM
I still really don't know what will the future of bitcoin be after August 1. So it can go either way, price go high/low. So the only option left for me is to hold on my bitcoin and see how it goes. I need to see things crystal clear before making my own decision.

And regarding ETH, the price is strong right now, breaking $200 which for me, a sign that ETH has indeed challenging bitcoin ecosystem. Seeing ICO's now having ETH as option for investments, I think it has a chance to take the no. 1 spot from bitcoin in terms of the marketcap. IMHO, if things didn't clear up after Aug 1.
10912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BEST RESOURCES FOR PREDICTION on: June 01, 2017, 05:01:43 PM
Hello guys, I am new in trading and I am from Czech Republic and I am looking for some good sites, some news and everything about cryptocurency and we don´t have in Czech  Embarrassed
Do you have some good sites, news, social media pages where can I find something helpful for my start in Cryptocurency trading or some advice for me?

THANK A LOT  Smiley

As for news, there is lots. Google search will help you locate some of the crypto related news websites and articles. You can find more too here in the community.

For prediction, there is no reference sites you can rely on since crypto trading is all about taking a risk. But you can take suggestions from the people here but only takes that as a reference and not as you will follow it in an instant. For altcoins, it's good to check the Altcoin Section (Speculation) but remember to read only those with references because there are lots of trolls. As you are here continously, soon you don't need any suggestions as you can make a decision by yourself. Goodluck. Smiley

Just go to Altcoin Section (Speculation) as pointed out. But you have to filter out a lot of information because some of them are purely FUD and it is still up to you to make the final decision. You can also visit the Press Release thread. You will also find a lot of valuable information in there. You may also want yourself to get familiarize with this website: http://www.coinmarketcap.com. This website is very informative and it gives you a lot of information regarding trading. O course there is always our friend, the big "G" to help you out. Goodluck in your journey in the trading world.
10913  Economy / Economics / Re: What is occurring when someone sells 1 BTC at a price lower than he/she bought? on: June 01, 2017, 04:25:27 PM
Your loss -$103 become an advantage for others obviously, you can consider it was used for benefit of society.
But for me, it just a loss which could be avoided if you were not in hurry to sell bitcoin. Yes, it close to breaking even but in bitcoin environment, people could make more than just break even in the right time.

And if t drops another -103$ how will that benefit the others? lols.
By your flawed logic if bitcoin goes to zero it will benefit the entire world.

Dumbest thing I've heard on this forum in the last year minute.

Also , bitcoin has nothing to do with an united society or with socialism.
Bitcoin is pure capitalism, there is no we.
It's the ones that have the money to buy btc the ones that have money to invest in mining gear there are no socialist benefits here.

LOL. I totally agree with you. What united society are we talking about here? The general public? Who gives a damn about them. You own your bitcoin. As stompix has pointed out, there is no we. The moment you sell your bitcoin with lower price, its already loss for you ~$103.25. It will not benefit anyone. It might even go back to the trading platform as profit for all we care. So next time just think "buy low and sell high" and don't think about a "united society" its just dumb mate.  Grin

10915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts for Bitcoin in 2017? on: June 01, 2017, 02:20:28 PM
Here's my thoughts on the first half of the year for bitcoin. It has proven time and again that it can rise to the occasion. Start of the year was very rough, then the COIN ETF was reviewed pushing the price to a ATH, however, it was denied plunging in to sub $1000 and its so frustrated seeing the price go to 3 figure. However, Japan came into the scene like crazy, buying and trading of bitcoin then became active again, pushing the price of it to a new ATH. Well I became optimistic again, but last week the bubble has been burst and dumping start but it was short lived. Now the price is $2400 which is a good sign for all of us. Maybe the price can go $3000-$5000 at the end of the year.
10916  Economy / Speculation / Re: opinion on: June 01, 2017, 01:38:28 PM
In my opinion bitcoin will hit 4k usd, but will take a bit long maybe a year or 2
whats your thoughts or side on this matter?

I don't know if you are aware that there was a sudden dump last week that plunges the price to at low as $1800. But since then it was recovered with a price of $2300. So you see, the price of bitcoin is unpredictable. I think we should first target a realistic price here, which is $3000. It could be hit this year, or maybe in the next couple of months. I'm very optimistic that we can touch that price easily because the trend looks like going upward now. If we don't have any negative news that will impact the price, then $3000 can hit. So maybe before the end of the year we can see $4000.
10917  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-31] Bitcoin, Stocks and the Fear of Missing Out on: June 01, 2017, 01:07:37 PM
I still have stocks, both in paper and paperless (deposited to a broker). But I haven't trade it all along since I started to be involved in bitcoin. Its just sitting there, although I always checked the price everyday just to be updated but the idea of it selling that does cross my mind yet. But for me, it looks like the latest trend is really on crypto trading. I also profited much this year because of its volatility and we are just in the first half of the year. Truly, crypto trading is very profitable for most of us.
10918  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think about terrorism?..I mean, will it ever end? on: May 31, 2017, 07:56:52 PM
I am a citizen of the Philippines, specifically in Mindanao group of island. This Maute Group(an alleged ally of ISIS) is terrorizing one of the city here in Mindanao and just started a war against the Philippine Army. Now, If these group will be successful, we would be like Syria. I wanna hear your opinions about these guys. thanks.

I don't know where to start. But since you are from Mindanao, do you think that Maute group can be successful and the island be like Syria? Do you think that Duterte will allow that to happen? or any President of the Philippines for that matter?

Personally, this is far fetched, Mindanao has been a safe haven for terrorist, I agree with that. Its not only Maute that control Mindanao, there are MILF, MNLF and other group as well. But to overrun the whole Mindanao island, it will take the whole terrorist network to merge into one "super terrorist" group. Call them whatever you want. But I don't think this will happen simple because they have their own ideology, beliefs and principles. Even though they are all Muslims they are still conflicting with each other. And in worst case, even if they all merge, I don't think someone from the Palace will want this to happen. By all means, they will crush this, because who would like Mindanao to be the new Syria? Would you? I know your concerns because I'm a Filipino as well but the idea of Mindanao going to be the new Syria is baseless and will not happen. IMHO.

10919  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-31]India’s Government Divided Over Bitcoin Legalization on: May 31, 2017, 07:02:30 PM
Some fears on Bitcoin can be unfounded. I have no problem with putting up regulations for Bitcoin compared to totally banning the said currency because if they ban it there is no guarantee that transactions will not take place anymore and they can not trace all the transactions especially done online.

Yes, Bitcoin can be utilized by terrorist but this is the same thing with fiat money. Do we have to ban fiat money because there are terrorist and illegal people using the fiat?

Exactly. Just what I thought is putting a tighter regulations around bitcoin and its Indian exchangers, let them comply with the Indian Central bank law regarding KYC and AML. As I have said, bitcoin is already a global phenomena and its hard to completely shut it down by any nation. Regulations could be the solution. And as far as illegal activities, bitcoin has nothing to do with it, criminals will always found a exploit and will used it to their advantage similar to what fiat is. Some terrorists used NGO's and other trust funds as front to get and transfer money from their organizations.
10920  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you trade at multiple exchanges? on: May 31, 2017, 06:02:12 PM
Most of the time there difference of price exists so do you withdraw bitcoins from one exchange and sell at higher rate exchange?

It seems too hard to manage with arbitrage trading. You have to make sure that you make enough profit to overcome the fees for moving from one exchange to another.

Correct, people thought that if you have a account in a China trading platform and let say in US, and try to do a arbitrage, you will just withdraw from one trading platform and sell it to the other. Its not just like that. You have to put into account the fee's and how fast you can withdraw it. And as far as having multiple accounts for trading, yes, I have 3 accounts that I managed right now and so far I don't encounter issues on my end. Although I just have to stay late my time to trade or buy coins that I like.
