10922  Other / Off-topic / Re: For those of you who don't live close, how often do you call your parents? on: August 18, 2014, 04:06:51 PM
LOL very good question.
1-2 times per week, usually, sometimes more often if there is more important issue to discuss.
10923  Other / Politics & Society / Re: We do not have a gun culture problem, we have a culture problem. on: August 18, 2014, 04:03:33 PM
I agree with this title.
Compare USA with Canada, for example.
In Canada there is no ''gun culture'' like in USA.
Result: Less violence and crime than in USA.
In USA people are ''brainwashed'' that they must have guns in order to protect themselves.
In reality is other way around, more violence, more crime and very unsafe living for average people.
Guns are not the part of solution but part of the problem.
So, something must be changed in USA before situation become worst.
USA need culture of ''peace'' not violence.

Way to miss the point of the OP as well as skipping over pretty much every post after. Confirmation bias much?

The USA has a way different way of handling their drug problem and decided to wage a war on it..  Do you think that has anything to do with the gun culture..?

OK this is my understanding about reasons why so many average Americans using guns as means for self-protection, not for hunting or sport. I shared this opinion based on my experience while living in USA but you may know better. Please share your opinion.

10924  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will plummet to $10 by first half of 2014 on: August 18, 2014, 03:52:39 PM
i know bitcoin is down for now ...
but prediction that bitcoin will plummet to $10 in this year is so funny and that considered a failed joke for me.

no machine and brain in world can predict that , but down to $10 ?  Grin
mark williams maybe drunk while saying that

LOL I agree with this.
It's possible that value of bitcoin will go up and down, based on demand, but it's really unlikely that, in the long term value of bitcoun will go much down.
In the long term, specially when bitcoin become mainstream and globally accepted by the big merchants, I expect that value of bitcoin will be very high Smiley
10925  Economy / Speculation / Re: Volatility and Psychology on: August 18, 2014, 03:46:10 PM
We have to understand that if we buy and hold bitcoin we don't loose anything.
We loose if, at the moment of sell, value of bitcoin is lower than at the moment we bought bitcoin.
Experienced investors know this rule very well and they will never panic and make such mistake.
They will observe and sell just when they are sure in profit.
Others will panic and sell right away, without thinking.

10926  Other / Off-topic / Re: Crypto in 2030 on: August 17, 2014, 05:09:58 PM
Bitcoin price will be $923.60 at the stroke of NY 2030
i hope you are missing a couple 0's after that 3 on there..

Such things are impossible to predict.
We can just have hope but if big investors and merchants don't accept bitcoin, we will never see such high prices for bitcoin.
10927  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World War III on: August 17, 2014, 05:07:42 PM
I do not know how the Third World War will be fought, but I can tell you what they will use in the Fourth — rocks! - Einstein

This pretty much sums it up. Thats why i agree that the war fought will be only economic like previously stated, actualy it has allready begon with sanctions
that are coming from all sides.

Yes this is true and because of this ''Cold war'' between USA and USSR never become ''Hot war''.
In this recent conflict between Russia and USA, we will also not see real, hot war betwen nATO and Russia but ''Cold war'', mostly through economic sanctions.
10928  Other / Off-topic / Re: God is Reality on: August 17, 2014, 05:03:59 PM
The ignorance grows strong in this one.
Never make a self moderated thread about such a topic. I'm not an atheist but God is not a reality, and that's the reality.
This statement is just wrong. You can't call something reality without being able to prove it.

Right! For all we know, all the laws of the universe that we have found out already, may not really be laws after all.

Consider this, What if God is not only God, but is also Super God. This means that He holds and controls everything that we call logic in this world and life. It means that He makes everything work together and just look like we have laws of nature, but it is really HIM simply making it look that way to us.

How can we ever really know if this is not so?

Smiley

If you start such questions, this never ends Smiley
You can even question your own existence.
How do you know that you really exist, that you are not just part of some matrix (like in the movie matrix).

Lennon: Imagine
Great song and great message even today!
10930  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the Future of Bitcoin ? on: August 17, 2014, 04:16:00 PM
I really hope that Bitcoin will become main alternative currency in the world in a next a few years.
At this early stage of adoption, we need more ''big'' merchants to accept bitcoin as payment option.
Without this, people will mostly use Bitcoin as kind of investment, not as alternative way of payment, and this will not help development of Bitcoin in the long term.

10931  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your biggest fear in life? v. Real Talk on: August 17, 2014, 04:08:47 PM
My Biggest fear in life is to loose job and any income, and because of this loose home and become homeless.
This tragedy already happened to some people around me.
Very difficult situation.

10933  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm in love! on: August 17, 2014, 03:56:12 PM
If you are in love this is great for you, but this is not enough.
You should make this person feel that he/she is also in love with you.
Give love, not just expect to receive, and through this you will also receive more love from your lover, and this will make you even more joyful Smiley
10934  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gangrene on: August 17, 2014, 03:43:17 PM

10935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What service/company should accept bitcoin next? on: August 17, 2014, 03:22:56 PM
I think that each of this top internet companies like Google, Microsoft, Ebuy, Paypal, Aplle and many others should accept butcoin.
Bitcoin will be great addition to their payment options, easy to use, secure and it will help bitcoin to become mainstream very quickly.
It will be beneficial to everyone Smiley
10936  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the best job to get 1 BTC? on: August 17, 2014, 02:42:36 PM
1 BTC for what? Month?

Deppends where you live.

If you want make money by internet, I guess programming and web development, if it is in real life, we can't say if we don't know how is the market in your countr.

Agreed.

A ton of people on jobs4BTC usually come on wanting a web based progammer. JS, HTML, PHP, to just setting up forum software. I'd get involved in that and also learn another language.

This is true.
Real money on Internet you can earn just if you have some good skills and knowledge (programming is very good example, web design etc.).
In this case you can offer your services as freelancer and work for any client in the world, no limits (beauty ofInternet, no borders Smiley )
10937  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone following the ebola outbreak? on: August 17, 2014, 02:37:54 PM
ZMapp has now arrived in Liberia:

"Three Liberian health care workers who have contracted Ebola received an extremely scarce experimental serum on Friday at a hospital outside the national capital, Monrovia, a Liberian health official said Saturday."

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/17/world/africa/three-liberian-health-workers-get-experimental-ebola-drug.html

Very bad news.
It seems that there is no real success in stopping Ebola in Africa.
If nothing change soon, Ebola may spread to other continents as well.
We must stop Ebola right now, at this early stage or I'm afraid to think what can happen otherwise, in the worst scenario.
10938  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any interest in an offshore bank which accepts & exchanges Bitcoins? on: August 17, 2014, 02:25:40 PM
I have been talking with an offshore bank in the British Virgin Islands about possibly accepting bitcoins.  They are not surprisingly uninterested however the discussions were useful because they did provide information on forming a finance company in the BVI.  The finance company could open an account with the offshore bank and create sub-accounts for clients of the finance company.   The finance company would be able to accept bitcoins and fiat currency deposits and offer currency (including Bitcoin) exchange services.

To clarify is this wouldn't be a "bank" in the traditional sense.  It wouldn't offer loans, offer interest, or engage in fractional reserve banking.  It would merely provide demand (deposit) accounts.

Potential account options:
* online banking with hardware 2 factor authentication.
* irreversible account to account transfers.
* debit card with ATM access.
* bank wires to "onshore" banks (financial privacy protected incoming and outgoing bank wires use a single-use transaction ID not an account number or account holder's name).
* access to offshore brokerage services.

The account to account transfer option (initiated by the sender) is interesting because they are irreversible and that could form the basis for a secure person to person trading/conversion.  As an example Joe needs 1000 BTC and Jane is willing to sell them.  Jane sends coins to the finance company acting as an escrow agent (or even a third party escrow agent).   Joe transfers $10,000 to Jane's sub-account and coins are released to Joe from escrow.

Just an idea at this point.  Comments?

Very good idea and business project.
I specially like this part: To clarify is this wouldn't be a "bank" in the traditional sense.  It wouldn't offer loans, offer interest, or engage in fractional reserve banking.  It would merely provide demand (deposit) accounts.
If you succeed in starting this business project, I think that many Bitcoin users will be interested to do business with you.
10939  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Hrvatski (Croatian) on: August 17, 2014, 02:16:10 PM

sto vise to bolje!!

10940  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin did it! on: August 17, 2014, 01:57:13 PM
USA thinks that it is "The greatest country in the world", it is not, "The greatest debt in the world" is only thing that is greatest about USA.

Pution can create a paradigm shift, he is most powerful man in the world, good strategist and stands behind some values (other than making money, which is only value West believs in)

It's true that USA is very far from ideal but still they have a much more to offer to their citizens than most other countries in the world.
Putin is strong man and politician but his influence is mostly in the former USSR area ad it's obvious that he want to restore USSR.
But, I think that very soon he will find out that he is not so powerful as he think and that he can't go against everybody else.
He may gain something in short term but it will loose in long term.
