11061  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: May 10, 2017, 05:14:58 PM
I think why other people keep saying bitcoin is dead its because they want people panic selling so if the person have bitcoin and they see the news or hear they want to sell their bitcoin because they profit.  If yiu see the pricr as of now its $1850 do you think that is dead bitcoin will become morr brighter and brighter everyday and the price is cointiously increasing . SO DONT SAY BITCOIN IS DEAD JUST BUY BITCOIN AND HOLD IT TO MAKE PROFIT.

I guess we can't stop those spreading lies that bitcoin is dead or dying. They are all envied how the price of it risen from the current price right now. Maybe they want to buy bitcoin at a lower price but it ain't happy folks. Bitcoin is now stable, thanks to Japan adopting it. And I think community members here are already mature enough not to listen to FUD. Well, newbie are prone to this, but I think majority here doesn't give a f**k to those influencing others to panic and sell their bitcoin. Bitcoin will be here for good.
11062  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-09] Bitcoin is Improving Lives of Women Farmers in Zimbabwe on: May 10, 2017, 04:25:22 PM
At least this a good way to provide farmers specially women loans to raise crops of their own and poultry and improve on farming methods. They don't need to go to loan sharks which charge huge interest. Bitcoin really has a way to improve someone or a nation in terms of its lives specially poor countries in Africa. I think they have their own BitMari Mobile Wallet, which cashout their bitcoin into your local currency. I think they also provided trainings regarding bitcoin, agricultural and financial lessons.
11063  Other / Politics & Society / Re: SHOULD I GO TO PAKISTAN ON VACATIONS...? on: May 10, 2017, 03:54:57 PM
Its no brainer dude. Go to Thailand. It is like a paradise for those of you Caucasians. Hmm. Why not Philippines though? Are you afraid to be kidnapped?  Cheesy But seriously, I would rather go to Thailand because it is much safer for tourist like you. You know that Pakistan is Muslim dominated country and they hated Americans. At least in Thailand you put yourself in a better position to enjoy your vacation because its friendly to tourist because its one of their attraction there. Sandy white beaches, beautiful pagoda's and palaces, ancient ruins and ornate temples displaying figures of Buddha. So its really a good place to visit for American tourist like you.
11064  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-09]Bitcoin Price: $1,000 in January, $1,750 in May. What’s Next? on: May 10, 2017, 02:30:15 PM
The Bitcoin price has already surpassed its historical maximum and confidently goes higher.

The year 2017 began with a sharp rise of the Bitcoin price to $1,000. Experts expected the price to go further, while experienced users who had already faced losses because of the Mt.Gox collapse and Bitfinex security breach were unwilling to express that confidence. However, Bitcoin moves further.

You can read the full article and take part in the discussion here: https://coinidol.com/bitcoin-price-going-to-2k/

Its look like that whatever those so called experts predict on the price of bitcoin of in the future, there is only 1 certain fact, bitcoin price will really go to the moon in the next 3 years. Japan is going crazy about bitcoin, a lot of exchanges soon to open in that country as well as  a lot of merchants has been putting a sign "bitcoin accepted here". So I won't go against those experts in predicting the price of bitcoin. Of course we may experienced a few price correction, shakes-out and other factors that may influence the price of bitcoin. But its really hard to stop this kind of revolution that will continue to the future specially in 2020(next halving).
11065  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is no longer a currency on: May 10, 2017, 01:27:50 PM
Well, the more others says that bitcoin is no longer a currency it became more a legal currency online and also became popular too. Look a the price value of bitcoin at the present time now it is almost 1700$ each bitcoin. The demand was getting higher more and more and many businesses too are also adopting the concept of bitcoin.

Bitcoin is more than a currency, bitcoin has risen to an asset for one's investment, because many people get big profits from current price spike. Demand for bitcoin is increasing, giving extra benefits to bitcoin owners who hold it.

This has a lot more to do with hedge funds who have gotten into Bitcoin than individual users. Institutional managers have far more ability to affect the price than regular folks, and over the past few years there have been numerous private funds that have been started to buy and hold Bitcoin on behalf of wealthy investors

Do you know any of these?

Apart from the Winklevii twins (who might in fact be managing someone else's money, not only their own), I have never heard of investment (hedge) funds involved or even interested in Bitcoin. It is obvious that they cannot officially (legally) invest the money of their clients in Bitcoin (at least, not in the US as it seems to be the case after the rejection of the Bitcoin ETF by the SEC) but, on the other hand, if they are doing that via some gray schemes, how do you in fact know that there are "numerous private funds" trying their hand at managing Bitcoin assets?

Here's my take. I believed that there are entities behind bitcoin, it could be private entities or other hedge fund managers that are buying bitcoin is behalf of wealthy investors. The reason we don't know it that because they tend to work behind and don't want to exposed their wealthy clients. I've been speculating on this since there is a uncovering of market price manipulation by the Chinese. So its more likely that there is also entity or entities getting bitcoins through hedge funds managers or other means that we still don't know, so that they can control the price of bitcoin. This is only my opinion, but I don't have the facts so far to back it up.
11066  Economy / Speculation / Re: is 2017 the new 2013? on: May 10, 2017, 12:25:31 PM
I think 2017 better than 2013, this is because the increase in the price of bitcoin pure influenced high demand while speculators is only done by 2013. I sure 2017 the price will reach more than $2500.
To deny that there is a degree of speculation going on at the moment is very naive, speculators are taking advantage of this growth int the price of bitcoin and are amplifying it so they get even more profits, I cannot blame them but that is what is happening.

This is just day trading with a volatile asset such as Bitcoin. If the price is going to go up/down on a daily basis, why not take advantage of that and make a little bit of money?
Yeah right, I'm more than happy to immediately sell all bitcoin, this is the best price we can get, we never know the price it could survive, up or even down, don't be greedy, when getting profit better soon take (sell).
Fear not buddy!! The bitcoin price isn't gonna take a dip recently as many and many Japanese people are joining and driving the bitcoin price higher and higher to the moon. I do think $2k will be reached in the coming month or two.

I disagree with you. Most likely after May 15 there will be a drop in prices. But I have a hope that this fall will be insignificant. And then the price will recover very quickly. Just be a good time to buy coins

Are you talking about the decision on second review of SEC regarding the bitcoin ETF? It could probably affect the price really, but what you have said, insignificantly. Bitcoin has been very stable and I believed this year is has been more stable than ever before. Japan is pushing the price to new levels that's why even a rejection will be minor effect of the price. And I also think the investors are going back to bitcoin after they have already pump and dump the alt-coin market taking profits and investing it on bitcoin ecosystem.
11067  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Poloniex caused the market to crash on: May 10, 2017, 11:43:00 AM
No trades for the past hour on poloniex because of "server lag." Its been happening the past few days too. Mods say they are "working on it." Lol.

Pretty sad considering the daily profit they make from fees.

The trading at poloniex is very fast as it is the biggest exchange of altcoins. and even a minute of Server lag can cause someone many dollars lost. and in an hour lag, one can be bankrupt. Poloniex needs to upgrade their servers.

As someone has said maybe they have additional traders registering that causes some lag on the servers. But I agree with you that they should upgrade or get new servers to cope up with the number of traders using their platform. Maybe they haven't anticipated this kind of traders or trading volumes in their exchanges. But this is a good thing for them because many users have been using their trading platform. But I don't think that Poloniex is causing the market to crashed, they just experience some technical issue. That all. I don't worry unless they got hacked and my funds all gone.
11068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any place to gamble IF the Mayweather vs McGregor fight will happen? on: May 10, 2017, 06:45:29 AM
@pereira4 It is time that McGregor show some guts to defend his belts,do you really know that he has not defended any one of his titles inside and outside of the UFC and you will never be considered as a champion if you really cannot defend your belt. The fight against Mayweather will make him millions and i am sure he might retire after the match without defending any of his belts. Cheesy

a fight with mayweather won't prove anything for mcgregor. if that fight pushes through at all, I don't think it would be as competitive as we expect it to be. it probably would be a boxing match and I don't think the skills of connor would be shown in full. might as well defend the belt in the octagon than waste time forcing a match with mayweather

Its all about the money. McGregor will only fight Floyd because we will rake millions of millions. We all know that he will loss if even they fight. I think Connor can still go back to UFC and continue to be a big star even if he losses to Floyd. And I think we will defend his belt against anyone, its that he is now chasing a fight with Floyd because of the big payday. But I don't know if he still has the enthusiasm or the energy we have seen him before to fight in UFC after getting a lot of money because of the Mayweather fight. Yeah, he might retire.
11069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN NEXT HALVING - From 12.5 to 6.25 in less than 3 years on: May 10, 2017, 05:45:40 AM
This is what I'm been saying. Next halving is 3 years from now but the demand for bitcoin currently rising at $1700. So just imagine what will happen in the next halving, bitcoin will be so scarce that all price speculation $5000, $10000 or even $100,000 is possible. So it make sense to save bitcoin now because the price will go to the moon. I also speculate that their will be another country that will embrace bitcoin making the price really soar to new heights in the new 3 years or so.
11070  Other / Politics & Society / South Korea election: Moon Jae-in claims victory on: May 09, 2017, 03:40:55 PM
South Korean's today elected a new President Moon Jae-in. And it looks like he is opened to negotiate with their North Korean brothers. It looks like this will shake up the political landscape in the region. I haven't read or seen any reaction from the official news agency from North Korean though regarding the result of the elections.

"Moon is expected to overhaul Seoul's policy on North Korea, looking to open talks with Pyongyang and challenge the deployment of a controversial US missile defense system. Such a position stands in stark contrast to the hard-line conservative policy of former President Park."

11071  Economy / Speculation / Re: is this bitcoin bubble ever going to burst on: May 09, 2017, 02:33:52 PM
I wish it did! Grin

So i could buy more cheap coins! Now because everyone out there thinks like me, the answer is no. No more free money again. I know this is sad.

Btw, if everybody keeps buying then it also means that it is not a bubble but a healthy growth. Which is way more important. Because bubbles always burst.

Exactly. Don't be fooled by the price. Its a healthy and steadily growth and not a bubble at all. Well the price is driven by exuberant market behavior specially by the Japanese, but the price surge is not sudden, as compare to 2013 bubble. And to the OP, since you sold out already, just wait for the correction to take place before getting a piece of bitcoin again. Although we can predict when the correction will happen. I can also speculate that if there is a correction, it still likely above $1000.
11072  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-08] The Cryptocurrency Race Heats up as Bitcoin Dominance Drops 30% on: May 09, 2017, 01:34:23 PM
Just let the alt coins do their thing. It won't sustained the growth anyway. Investors who are pumping the alt coin market would go back to bitcoin after they have dump their alt coins. Bitcoin price has steadily rises and I think it has gain a lot of confidence already that it will not crash anytime soon. And I agree with the above poster saying that we should not worry about them. As I have said, let them have their day in the trading platform. Bitcoin will still be the no. 1 crypto-currency and no alt coin can overtake it.
11073  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Microsoft 'Confirms' Plans For Its New Surface Phone on: May 09, 2017, 12:46:18 PM
Yeah right. They don't look like phone of today but look like its 5 years behind in design. LOL. Apple and Samsung has already captured the smart phone sector so I don't know what are they still trying their hand in this. Maybe they still want to have a piece of the pie that only Apple and Samsung are sharing. But I doubt people will like their design wise, and we all know how Microsoft OS operates. So even if they releases the most sophisticated the coolest, most innovative phone ever made, it will still not capture the market and no one will care.
11074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies are sirens luring you to a journey of no return on: May 09, 2017, 11:52:18 AM
A chinese btc holder Da Tou ( if translated literally, menaing" big head) shared his story, saying once you jumped in the world of cryptocurrency, there is no returning back. u spend time and energy, but still can't figure out what’s going on with the market. It is so complicated and so bizarre. He locked himself at home studying bitcoin all day. http://news.8btc.com/cryptocurrencies-are-sirens-luring-you-to-a-journey-of-no-return
he said the point of btc is that it helped open a door onto a whole new world for us.

Yeah, once you are into crypto currency specially bitcoin, you just fell in love with it that you want to read every information about it that you want to be an expert about every subject matter pertaining to bitcoin technology and blockchain. And its like a never ending cycle and its like everyday you learn something new about bitcoin. And I agree that it open a lot of doors and opportunity to the general public regardless you are a student or a professional trader or even big investor or whales. Some even made bitcoin as a income to support their family and to pay bills every month.
11075  Economy / Economics / Re: What percentage of people on Earth will own Bitcoin by 2020 on: May 09, 2017, 11:07:28 AM
Im going to have to go with a conservative estimate of 5% of the worlds population will own bitcoin by 2020. 5% of the entire world population is enough people to create a country that has more people than the USA. There will definitely be more widespread usage of bitcoin as a payment method, and more governments will have to approve of bitcoin.
I think 5% for the estimated of the user of bitcoin for 2020 is very low because i think it is more than 10% now and it will keep growing because bitcoin is unstoppable and its price is keep on rising. The 3 years left will be enough for bitcoin to climb at least 20% of our population because we can see a lot of information that are keep spreading thru the internet and that will be a big help for bitcoin.

I think a conservative estimate would be like 5-10%. Bitcoin will be in the forefront in the next 3 years. Traders, investors or even the general public will keep growing their interest in bitcoin. Remember, Japan already started the revolution, so no wonder it has reached new heights now and will even soar more in the future. And also we also need to take in consideration the next halving in 2020. People will demand more of bitcoin but supply will be less. So more likely investors will try to get or put money in bitcoin ecosystem. So for me, a conservative estimate like 5%-10% but can probably rise in the next couple years of so.
11076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Klitschko vs Josua Info and predictions on: May 09, 2017, 09:17:21 AM
Looks like Anthony Joshua could happen.

If Klitschko doesn't take advantage of the "rematch clause" in his contract, anyhow.

Right now I'm thinking Canelo will beat GGG.

Still need to watch more of GGG's fights to get a better idea of how good he is.

I have to disagree with you @Hydrogen. I think GGG will beat Canelo. GGG is a true Middleweight and one of the hardest puncher now in boxing. Although his 2 last fight of wasn't impressive as compare to his other fights, still GGG is too powerful for Canelo. I think the fight between the 2 is already scheduled for Sept this year and Canelo will be just resting a few weeks then continue his training. I don't know if this is a good move for him but for me GGG is more tougher opponent than Julio Cezar Chavez. I'm so excited and I can't wait to see this fight!!!
11077  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-05] Las Vegas Strip Club Aims to Use Cryptocurrency for Operations on: May 09, 2017, 07:09:52 AM
Isn't it we have a Legends Room Signature Campaign a while back?

I think this is a good move from them to combine the best of both worlds, crypto enthusiast in the world of entertainment. Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like the Legends Room is the first club to offer membership that accepts crypto currency as payment system. Well its this is still good news for me as VIP members would have to buy bitcoins in order to avail of the services of the strippers or sex workers. But I think they are targeting a small niche here, bitcoin enthusiast who loves to go strip club. I just hope they succeed in this industry.
11078  Economy / Speculation / Re: $2000 anyone? on: May 09, 2017, 06:12:14 AM
I'm monitoring price of bitcoin in Kraken, because personally I think their price is more realistic as compare to other trading platform. Its currently,
$1694.00 and before I slept last night it is breaking the $1600 so in a span of 12 hours a additional increase of $100 is seen. It we going to based on this trend, its just a matter of days before touching $2000. But as for me, we are going to experience some resistance before really going up again and reaching the peak at $2000.
11079  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain wallet sucks on: May 08, 2017, 12:04:01 PM
Now complete 3 days have past and my blockchain wallet is just not even opening. The page opens up after login but it just not able to show my funds, even for hours the page is not opening. Now what can i do how can i access my funds there

Its looks like you have a problem on your end. Maybe you should try to used proxies or try to use Tor to see if you can access blockchain.info. I can access my blockchain wallet, although I don't have bitcoin it in because I want to put my precious bitcoin in them for fear of security breach. I just created a wallet before when I was a newbie. If in any case you access your wallet, I suggest you transfer it to a wallet where you have control of the private keys like Electrum or Bitcoin Core. Just be sure to get it from trusted site and get the latest version. Goodluck.
11080  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One of many reasons why I love bitcoin on: May 08, 2017, 09:15:41 AM
this is one of the many transactions that I received, this was from some small exchange that I was trading there for fun and to learn more about how to use API in my bot and I cashed out all my balance worth $7.48.

and this is my cold storage, which has been taking deposits ever since 2014 Cool:

Just imagined if you have couple of thousand of thousand that you bought before, so its gonna be x7 or x8 by now and the huge profit from your wallet now. Well, I agree @btcdevil, we didn't back then knew that the market price of bitcoin will be this high now, otherwise we are all millionaires by now. This just show, that bitcoin could be really worth to invest for long term likes stocks or real states because the price grows exponentially in years. So it is still not yet late to buy bitcoin as invested or just as store of value because it gonna be worth it.
