11061  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-25]World’s Largest Bitcoin Tumbling Service Announces Sudden Shutdown on: July 26, 2017, 08:13:15 AM
Bitmixer was a true asset for the entire Bitcoin community. Every time I withdrew coins from an exchange to be sent to my cold wallets, I have let them go through Bitmixer to get 'unmarked' coins in return. The reason from Bitmixer to close its doors is very much debatable, but it's pointless to speculate about what might or might not have pushed them to stop. We have to adapt to the situation by looking for alternatives, and the first next time that I need to mix some of my coins, I will put ChipMixer to the test. Reading through what kind of features it offers, it greatly exceeds that what Bitmixer had to offer. At least we're not going backwards. Smiley

I am hoping that the decision to shutdown is all about business and there is no applied pressure coming from anywhere else. The void left by this great Bitcoin mixer company can now be taken over by equally good mixing service providers and I am sure that Chipmixer can be a good choice. Amid the continuing drama in the Bitcoin community and the volatility of the Bitcoin, this shutdown is just adding some dark dust into the plate.

We could only speculate what push Bitmixer to close its services to us. We will understand it the company is not making profit, but he himself admitted that they are earning huge amount. So it has nothing to do with business or competition, something deep that we will be unknown to us On the other hand, there are other mixing services that are available, such as you guys promoting. Will definitely look into it and see what it can offer.

World’s Largest Bitcoin Tumbling Service Announces Sudden Shutdown

The largest mixing service has decided to shut down operations, citing the future of Bitcoin as a catalyst. While no links have been made official, users question possible pressure and dark market shops as a possible cause.

One of the largest mixing services announced that it will stop operating just before delivering on that promise.

11063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IT is WAR. Split again. BTC will crash on: July 25, 2017, 01:04:21 PM
OP may actually be right. The price Bitcoin reacted to something today. It's currently down at 2550 from 2789 it was yesterday.
I saw an article on a Bitcoin about Bitcoin Cash and Segwitx2. The owner of the site seems to be in favor of both.
Something weird is happening underground.  Crooks are up to something?  Everyone has to be very vigilant.

There may be something that is not right. The price just suddenly fall today in less than 12 hours. Looks to me there is someone behind the scene working to satisfy their own greed. I'm expecting that at least the price should hold around $2700 but the significant drop raise some alarm to me. And I think they are going to push for a split in Aug 1. Don't people really wants to destroy bitcoin for their own greed. I agree, we need to be vigilant and observant in this kind of situation. We don't know what will happen next.
11064  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 10 ETH or 1 BTC? on: July 25, 2017, 06:15:15 AM
Diversify dude. Get both 50:50. At least you have a leverage. We all know that there is a relation with regards to the price. So when one is down, for sure the other coin will be down as well. And you still have options if you just want to trade bitcoin for a day and the next day ETH. Question though Are you planning to do trading or purely investment?

11065  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is something going on with Poloniex? on: July 25, 2017, 05:46:42 AM
I think something is really going on with Poloniex. I'm seeing a flood of complains about them. They should at least have a good support staff to answer all the inquiries of their customers. But unfortunately, we are not seeing this from them. Maybe they are really preparing for the Aug 1 that' whey they tend to not care about the issues that their customers is facing. Good thing I was to stay away from them and moved to other trading platforms.
11066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Welcome To The Blockchain on: July 25, 2017, 05:19:34 AM
Glad my song could be of help to you guys...keep spreading it around!

Professionally done mate. Nice video.

I think we need to spread it more as the video has only 70K views. It should at least get 500K so that more people will know about bitcoin. And its a nice introductory for newbies specially about bitcoin and blockchain technology. And people you will watch this will become curious as to what is blockchain/bitcoin is and chances are they are going to research more about bitcoin and probably invest on it. Good Job!!!
11067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The real crash starts after Aug 1st on: July 24, 2017, 09:05:19 AM
I'm betting on bitcoin increase on Aug 1 and altcoins falling, people selling off to jump on bitcoin train. If it happens, great opportunity to get alts at a discount

I'm very optimistic that bitcoin will increase drastically after Aug 1. And for those who are bailing out on bitcoin, just don't regret your decision. Because I'm sure that there are profits that are going to be missed and you don't want to be that person. So just stay calm and just hodl on it. I know that bitcoin price is hard to predict, but for me all the signs are pointing that bitcoin could have a good future after Aug 1.

Ferrer doing a Federer  Smiley

We are now seeing two Spaniards winning titles for this year alone. And Ferrer's win put him with the great Bjorn Borg in the record books. Both are three-time champions at the Swedish Open. This veterans are really showing the way for now. I think with age creaping among them, its a good thing to see them winning ATP even at the twilight of their career instead of seeing them down with injuries and cannot come back.

Well that's the only choice you got mate. To hope and pray that Polo will bring back your money. Maybe this should be a lessons learn for most of us not to keep huge amount of money to any exchange because chances are likely you will lose it because you have no control about it. Also, I'm moving to Bittrex but I'm still weighing my options. Will wait after the Aug 1 drama and see what will happen. Goodluck.
11070  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-21]BIP 91 Locks In and Bitcoin Price Rises Sharply on: July 24, 2017, 07:46:08 AM
Even stronger, and this is pure speculation of course, is that the early timing to allow miners to start 'officially' signalling support for BIP91, was more or less an attempt to greatly influence the market at their own will (i.e. trading with inside information).

I had that thought as well. I wouldn't be surprised if they have been backed up with large players to drive the price down in order to intensify the panic that was going through the market. If we look at the bottom, all the way to the peak of slightly over the $2900 level, it shows that we experienced a solid $1000 increase in a matter of days. On the other hand, I expected the price to break through the $3000 level today or tomorrow due to the activation of BIP91, but tomorrow is another day. Maybe that a new load of money coming in that will post tomorrow in people's accounts will add an extra $100 or so to the price.

We didn't break the $3000 levels. Although there are trading platforms that reported it has reach that price but quickly it went down again. I guess the mental barrier that is $3000 is so strong that one has to readily sell their coins once the price reach this high. Currently its down to $2750 so I doubt we can reach $3000 again in a matter of days. But the price is still strong, its just that $3000 is unsustainable for the time being.
11071  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Falling...Is it Panic Time? on: July 24, 2017, 07:15:11 AM
I dont think panic is good, as you can see the price of bitcoin fall, but after a weeks it bounce back and go even higher. so for me theres no reason to be on panic because i believe that the price of bitcoin will continue rise and hope to reach $4000 this year.
It's no time for panicking right now, we have enough time to hold and the price is good as usual. And let's have some long term plans in bitcoin because there's a lot of people who are saying that the price will be good at the end of the year. Be calm and patient which the movement of bitcoin and other alt coins as well.

True. Just hold on your coins right now. No need to panic as we are smooth sailing and will eventually get a good price after Aug 1. There are a lot of speculation regarding the price, but I believed that we will reach new ATH, which means above $3000 is the projected price of bitcoin. So we need not to be nervous and just focus on earning more bitcoin because the future of bitcoin really looks bright so just stay cool and stay tune.
11072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Negative People Eating Their Own Words on: July 24, 2017, 06:40:08 AM
That is not negativity, but rather people with hidden agendas. If you can manipulate the market by spreading negative sentiments and creating panic, people will sell their coins and the price will go down. You then pick up bargains, because you know the price will bounce back up again and you will make nice profits. ^grrrrrrrr^

These people do this with every little event that might shift the price.

As was have others are saying, bitcoin price is purely speculative. So its either a news that is positive pushing the price to new heights or negative news will pull back the price. The latter can be easily cause by a lot of people here that's spreading a undesirable information without facts just to sow panic to serve their purpose. I guess that's how it worked and still up for us to whether to follow them or not.
11073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Negative People Eating Their Own Words on: July 24, 2017, 05:45:22 AM
Basically, there are two type of people here in the Bitcoin community. One, there are people who have a strong faith in Bitcoin and is really supporting the cryptocurrency and two are people who are always negative about Bitcoin despite its historic rise and proven resiliency. Of course, there can be people in between maybe a little bit positive and negative at the same time just content on watching what can happen on Bitcoin.

Negative news had been reigning the past many weeks until there came an assurance that split is not anymore a big possibility which resulted into Bitcoin soaring like a freed eagle into the open. The negative news gave way to a more vibrant and forward-looking market. Now, buyers and investors are back into the action.

Negative people (that is for now) have to be silent as they maybe "enjoying" eating their own words!
Those negative people may spread FUD mainly due to two reasons.Either they might be promoters of their altcoins and just want to make bitcoin investors panic and make them sell their bitcoins or they may be big whales who just try to make use of the opportunity and spread negative news about bitcoins so that they could buy bitcoins at a cheaper price.

Or they are people who are really being paid just to spread alot of lies and FUD about bitcoin. The FUD waves some somewhat died down. But rest assured that they will not be silent forever and will be back with more FUD here. Only sad thing is that newbies are really affected by those FUD that they don't think twice or maybe verified what has been said and will just immediately push the sell button.

I was one of the victims of the FUD spreading around here in the forum. I was a total noob back then that when I immediately read some posters here and check that the price is going down, I instantly made the decision to sell. Later on, regretting my actions and so that stuck in my mind not to listen and make your own better judgement before bailing out. Because for sure, you gonna regret that decision. They seems to be quiet, but come Aug 1 they will start a new wave of lies and uncertainty so I hope noobs will not fall for it. Just saying.
11074  Economy / Exchanges / Re: VirWox Down? on: July 22, 2017, 09:14:31 AM
Seems to be down again... Can anybody else access it?

It's quite slow loading but it got there eventually.

I think that virwox is often down, i've seen it down at least 3-4 times from using it for just a year. The actual number of downtimes will probably be a lot larger than 3-4 times per year, so it's a normal phenomenon.

So don't get too scared when you see it down. After all it's been one of the oldest and most trusted btc exchanges around, and even paypal hasn't shut their accounts down proving that they are legit.

Anyways, next time go to isitdownrightnow to check out the info before posting here Smiley

I did do that. Thanks for sharing your snark. Howbout I post when I please and where I please? Smiley

I was able to connect just now. Its just loads slowly initially but it will eventually load. I'm not familiar with this website though. Looks interesting, I might try and go play around with it for a few minutes and see how's things there. Thanks for sharing.
11075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC on FOX 25: Weidman vs Gastelum Info and Prediction Thread on: July 22, 2017, 05:08:10 AM
Weidman's been on a downward spiral with the string of losses he's had recently. A far cry from the weidman we saw knocking out a cocky anderson silva a couple of years back. The thing with fighters is that it's also a mental game so i don't think weidman's recovered at all from his losses. I think he's had a good run but a lotnof fighters now have risen in this division. Though gastelum's not really right up there in the top of the division as well. If weidman loses, i think that's it for him.

Weidman used to be the poster boy for UFC/MMA ever since he beat the great Anderson Silva. But after that his career went downward spiral indeed. I don't know if its poor match making or his opponent has find chink in his armor that they have exploited resulting in his lost. He is still young and I hope he win this fight and win it in fashion like knockout to really resurrect his career otherwise its gonna be the end of the road for him.
11076  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin die soon? on: July 22, 2017, 04:26:30 AM
Users are increasingly making the price skyrocket, even japan and south korea officially legalize the use of bitcoin so I'm sure bitcoin can survive at least 20 more years.

Correct, bitcoin has a full backing of one of the most advanced technology country today which is Japan. So I doubt that bitcoin will suddenly go into oblivion. Now with the current price increase, how can bitcoin die again. It will not die until the last bitcoin is mined, so its still many many years from now. We should just enjoy the opportunity that bitcoin has given us. Like earning good amount of money in trading and using bitcoin as savings.
11077  Economy / Economics / Re: Could a country survive and maintain economic stability if it phased out cash? on: July 21, 2017, 01:42:03 PM
If you mean digital currencies are crypto currencies then yes it will be disaster and there will be uncontrollable inflation and deflation, crypto currencies never meant to be created as main currency in a country because it is decentralized, making crypto currency as your country main currency can cause your country being controlled by whale

So true. A government wouldn't let the crypto control  the faith of the nation. It will be a disaster if a country, how stable it is, would totally depended on crypto. One reason is the price volatility. How can a citizen do a budget for a family if the price continues to fluctuates everyday and can be manipulated by the rich and powerful. Those country would be at the mercy of those big entities which any government in the world would not want happened otherwise, a total collapse not only of their financial industry but the whole nation itself.

11079  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-21] South African Central Bank To Start Bitcoin Regulation on: July 21, 2017, 12:08:49 PM
I think Kenya have beaten South Africa to the finish line with this. They already have a vibrant Bitcoin economy with services competing with M-Pesa, called https://www.bitpesa.co/

African countries can quickly transition to Bitcoin based systems, because they have a good micro economy and high mobile telephone usage and they are already familiar with M-Pesa that were introduced to them, before Bitcoin existed. Bitcoin is just cheaper and faster. ^smile^

I hope the South African government will follow the example of the Japanese government and fully embrace Bitcoin usage and in doing this, draw new tourism potential < Bitcoin travellers > and also new business opportunities to their country.

I think South Africa is heading on that direction. We should give them a year or 2 at most and see how they will react to it. That is what I want to see, as Japan is has set a precedence, more country will follow and make this a step closer to the global adoption that all of us wants to see. We just need patience and the right timing so that other country will understand how bitcoin can be used and maximized by their citizens. Bitcoin is not a threat, it may help their citizens enjoy financial freedom.
11080  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cashing out large amounts of bitcoins? on: July 21, 2017, 10:46:58 AM
If I were to do it I'd not only split my money between exchanges, but also accounts and banks. With that much money you're not only risking being blocked by exchanges but also by your banks. Also, I wouldn't want to get raided by the police after transferring a couple million to an account that hasn't ever seen a large transaction. I just don't feel like proving to people that I'm not a terrorist.

This is the best solution that I can think of. Even some exchanges have a withdrawal limit so I doubt you can withdraw huge amount as well. Just split the money in a exchanges and wait for another few days before making a withdrawal request again. In this method, the exchanges will not set an alarm on your account for withdrawing big amounts. If they flag your account, then definitely you will have a lot of proving to do before letting you withdraw your funds. Just be on the safe side to prevent hassles on your end.
