Where would you prefer to born if you were born at another era?
LOL very interesting question.
I'm fun of history so I guess it will be great to be direct witness of some of greatest events in human history like discovery of America, Miidle age in Europe, Israel in the time of Jesus, China 3 0000 years ago etc.
But, we shouldn't forget that people before didn't have much security as we today, not health care, good income, they didn't live loig as today and most people was slaves.
So, maybe just 1 or 2 % of whole population had some kind of good standard and security so if i was born at that time, I would prefere to be born at least in some royal family Smiley
11242  Economy / Economics / Re: Have you started spending rather than hoarding your bitcoins? on: July 25, 2014, 11:57:38 AM
Seems to me that the next key step for bitcoin is true mass adoption. The day my dad uses it to buy something is the day I know we've made it.

Problem is if everyone is holding rather than spending, I am not sure how we ever get there. I know that there are many people spending, but the main game is still buy and hold expecting profits through price appreciation. My question is is this changing now that the price feels like it is settling down a bit? Does anyone have the stats?

Posted From bitcointalk.org Android App

At the moment I mostly spending Bitcoin, not holding.
First, because I need money right now and can't wait
and second, in my opinion, nobody really knows what will happen with the price of Bitcoin in next period, if this price will rise or not.
11243  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Ecuador Bans Bitcoin in Legislative Vote on: July 25, 2014, 11:48:26 AM
So Ecuador decided to ban Bitcoin: http://www.coindesk.com/ecuador-bans-bitcoin-legislative-vote/

Banning bitcoin in a country only serves to stop legal businesses taking advantage of what it has to offer. Any and all illegal activity isn't affected due to how bitcoin is decentralised and pseudo anonymous.
Do you want a black bitcoin market? Because that's how you get a black bitcoin market.

Good news is thousands of Ecuadorians just learned about bitcoin.

Very interesting but sad news, really.
In fact, Ecuador and other small countries could really benefit from Bitcoin and become more financial independent from other, financial stronger countries like USA.
But, as said earlier, any advertising or news, either good or bad, still can help because many more people will hear about this and become interesting, start researching etc.
Also, I don't think that this government can really control what their citizens work or do on Internet.

In the very hot summer the best is home made lemonade!
11245  Other / Politics & Society / Re: More Employment #s Nonsense by Vice President Biden on: July 24, 2014, 12:23:20 PM
A record number of jobs, yay!

That's right, fire everybody in American who had a 40 hour a week job.  Rehire 2 people to work 20 hour a week jobs so the employer doesn't have to pay for health insurance which is now completely unaffordable since men have to pay for mammograms.

That Biden is a genius.  Makes that Sarah Palin chick look stupid.

For those who missed it, that was a heavy dose of sarcasm and dread. Biden is Sarah without the lipstick.

LOL this is funny Smiley
I remember Sarah Palin very well, her famous statements and comments was great entertainment not just for Americans but whole world!
I don't know much about Biden but if he really said something like this, in current very bad economic and financial situation, not just in USA but whole world, he should at least fire his politic advisers or maybe leave his boss Obama to talk (it looks Obama is doing better with talks, any way Smiley ).

11246  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Invest bitcoins in real business on: July 24, 2014, 11:54:48 AM
It looks like interesting project but it will be great if you will share more details about this, what website/domain, who is involved, what experience do you have, how legally you will arrange this etc.
This is to general to decide anything.
11247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Book of Bitcoin on: July 24, 2014, 11:44:10 AM
Last night I was at a bi-weekly Bitcoin meet-up organized by group called "EarlyMorning" here in Milan, Italy. I have previously presented my KeyVault device (www.aeternum.in) and last night a published Bitcoin book was presented:

http://www.lswr.it/libro/bitcoin/

It's all in Italian, looks quite nice, and quite a few people were in attendance. I think there will be an official presentation on Friday but I'm not 100% sure and although it look as though you can still purchase them online, at the presentation the publisher said they were almost sold out of the first run. It's really nice to see the Italian bitcoin community growing!

Great news!
Are you in contact with publishers?
Any chance that they will translate this book also in English?
Can you give us some insight in the book, about content etc.
We will really appreciate Smiley
11248  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you serve revenge or leave it alone? on: July 24, 2014, 11:08:09 AM
What is the point in revenge?
This will not make you happy in the long term, neither this other person.
You should try to talk, communicate with this person and resolve any issue you have.
If not possible, just forget and move on, life is to short to loose on unproductive things, trust me Smiley
11249  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Arizona killer Joseph Wood dies almost two hours after execution begins on: July 24, 2014, 10:59:44 AM
For me this is really horrible things to hear, really shocked.
I'm from Europe and here we don't have death penalty already half century and consider this as civilization progress.
I guess in America is different mentality and culture but still I really hope they will also stop with this and change their low.

11250  Economy / Economics / Re: Is 1 bitcoin a decent and good investment? on: July 24, 2014, 10:46:13 AM
Is 1 bitcoin a decent and good investment?
I think most of us, Bitcoin users, would like to answer yes but it's very difficult to predict what will happen with the Bitcoin in the future.
If Bitcoin become mainstream, it will surely become good investment, but many other scenarios are also possible.
Some other, crypto currency can become more popular than bitcoin, US gov. can try to stop bitcoin for their own reasons, another global financial crises etc.
11251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Address Monitoring Services - any risk? on: July 24, 2014, 09:35:15 AM
If you protect your account (connected with Bitcoin  address) well, there is no risk.
It's similar with your on line banking info or emails.
Choose good password, add secondary password, other available security measures like sending entry code for your blockchain acc. to email, have backup, security question/answer and you will be fine, don't worry.
11252  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst Movies You Have Ever Watched on: July 24, 2014, 09:09:21 AM
I think Zombie movie.
So much unnecessary violence and killing all the time without any real story behind.
Really boring and dark movie.
11253  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Australian judge says incest may no longer be a taboo on: July 24, 2014, 08:36:47 AM
Australian judge says incest may no longer be a taboo
I find this statement very shocking.
In today's society, with a lot confusion and moral issues, I think that we need some kind of moral agreement what is good and what is bad from moral side and put this understanding in law.
If judges, as pillars of our societies, have doubts about this basic moral things and values, i think that human socviety have no fiuture, at least not in today's form.
11254  Other / Off-topic / Is It True Love? on: July 24, 2014, 08:25:54 AM
“True love doesn’t happen right away; it’s an ever-growing process. It develops after you’ve gone through many ups and downs, when you’ve suffered together, cried together, laughed together.” - Ricardo Montalban, Mexican Actor

“The course of true love never did run smooth.” - William Shakespeare, English Dramatist

“True love is eternal, infinite, and always like itself. It is equal and pure, without violent demonstrations: it is seen with white hairs and is always young in the heart.” - Honore de Balzac, French Novelist

“True love is selfless. It is prepared to sacrifice.” - Sadhu Vaswani, Indian Educator

“True love is not a strong, fiery, impetuous passion. It is, on the contrary, an element calm and deep. It looks beyond mere externals, and is attracted by qualities alone. It is wise and discriminating, and its devotion is real and abiding.” - Ellen G. White, American Writer

“Love consists in giving without getting in return; in giving what is not owed, what is not due the other. That’s why true love is never based, as associations for utility or pleasure are, on a fair exchange.” - Mortimer Adler, American Philosopher

“For true love is inexhaustible; the more you give, the more you have. And if you go to draw at the true fountainhead, the more water you draw, the more abundant is its flow.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupery, French Novelist

What is your own definition of true love? Add your quote here
11255  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is a stock on: July 24, 2014, 08:22:50 AM
I don't think that Bitcoin is stock, not in the real definition in market world.
We may say right now that Bitcoin is just virtual currency, still not widely accepted but on the way to become mainstream.
When this happen probably Bitcoin will become part of Forex trade but still not stock.
11256  Economy / Speculation / Re: when will price ride again? on: July 24, 2014, 08:05:28 AM
when will price ride again?
This is very difficult to predict because it depends of many factors, mainly how popular Bitcoin will become as digital way of payment, how many merchants will accept Bitcoin etc.
Like in every market, you can just guess but impossible to be sure in anything but hopefully price will rise again to the ''old levels'' Smiley
11257  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much of a role does alcohol play in your lives? on: July 24, 2014, 07:55:11 AM
How much of a role does alcohol play in your lives?
I'm happy that I can say that alcohol doesn't play any rule in my life Smiley
It was not easy decision at the beginning but now I'm happy that I choose lifestyle without alcohol and never felt sorry because of this!

11259  Other / Politics & Society / Re: North Koreans Among Most Malnourished in Asia on: July 23, 2014, 08:09:23 PM
Well the most recent photos show that Koreans are eating better.  I've even seen photos of fat infantrymen.

All the photos you see are made to make their country look better than it really is. They are not going to show pictures of the starvation because they want the world to believe that they are self sufficient.
Yep, clearly these apparent photos were part of the propaganda onslaught that the DPRK is known for. Most if not all of the news I here and see out of the North is that the military personnel are leaving their posts and stealing food from the locals and most of these military aged people were stunted from the so-called arduous march. It's only the prosperous that are lucky enough to live in Pyongyang, via proper familial backgrounds, that lead normal and healthy lives.

Yes, I agree with this.
In fact, I have a few friends from S. Korea and they also don't believe this false reports from N. Korea.
N. Korea have very long tradition of false reports and manipulating own people by media and brainwashing them.
This became almost art there, so i will not trust any positive report from N. Korea.

11260  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Bitcoin Will Be Worth before end of 2014 on: July 23, 2014, 07:51:52 PM
I just sew reports that soon Amazon will accept Bitcoin.
Already some other great companies accepting Bitcoin like Dell.
I think as this list grow and bitcoin becoming more and more mainstream, price will surely go up, it's just question when this will happen, no if will happen.
maybe I'm little optimistic here but i guess that bitcoin hit $ 1000 by the end of year Smiley
