11261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you like best about bitcoin? on: June 04, 2017, 03:58:25 PM
i like bitcoin because Bitcoin is not subject to tax rates and administrative fees.  Wink

Exactly. At least you don't have to worry paying it and we really don't know where the taxes are going or even if it is put on good projects by the government. But I don't know if this will last when government put regulations to bitcoin, for sure they want to get their hands on our bitcoin and add taxes on it.
11262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 212: Aldo vs Holloway Info and Prediction Thread on: June 04, 2017, 03:33:49 PM
yup weird he didnt throw one leg kick he needed to slow max down for the later rounds

Yup.  And wtf, Aldo got tired by the third round?  He has more championship rounds experience than Holloway.  It's really surprising.

So who's next for Holloway?  Edgar?  The division just got boring.

Maybe Aldo wants to proved something here by going toe to toe and not using his vaunted leg kick to his advantage. Well its pretty solid division to me. We still have Frankie Edgar, who should get his title shot after defeating Yair earlier. And then we have Ricardo Llamas, Cub Swanson and Anthony Pettis in the line.
11263  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will it happen? on: June 04, 2017, 02:25:07 PM
The time I've decided to earn bitcoin is when I have heard that bitcoin might be the future currency of these world. Bitcoin will be a payment to shops where you can pay without pulling out your wallet and just scan their QR code. Pay a coffee just by scanning a QR code, but we are not realizing these way of paying little by little is slipping away from us. With the price and the problem of transacting using bitcoin, how far are we from these way of using bitcoin?

What you described will never happen (that is my guess). But I might be wrong.

We will just have to have and see what will happen on Aug 1. If this will solved the current higher transaction fees that we are experiencing. But if you are talking about being mass adopted, I think it has slowly gaining momentum as some countries are embracing bitcoin like local currency. You can check Japan. Australia is only on board on July 1 as well.
11264  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Newbie in C++ wants deep learning on BTC and Alts on: June 04, 2017, 02:01:45 PM
Read the technical documentation and read the source code of Bitcoin Core.

A good start.

If you want to learn it properly, implement your own coin and network - from scratch.

No, I just want to understand everything about Bitcoin, blockchains and whatnot. I want to also have the ability to judge, technically, if a project is viable or not.

Then you must have a lot of research on that, there's a lot of discussion here regarding your concerned you must read and learn, try to go on Development & Technical Discussion here's the link. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=6.0

rofl. Thanks for the link. It felt like I was in the movie Inception.

By the way, I've been learning a lot the last couple of days. I didn't realize that blockchains are hashes of hashes of hashes of hashes linked together. At least that's how I understood it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Why don't you read the code and try to understand and maybe try to write your own script? This is how I started, I don't want to read, I want practical practices so I decided to put a more hands on approach so that I can really understand and I made great stride learning it.
11265  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will Bitcoin drop and how? on: June 04, 2017, 11:06:19 AM
Bitcoin keeps popping up that I'm even confused sometimes. What I ask myself is so how is it going to stop and when? Or it will keep increasing? Will the activities with bitcoins increase or drop it, or will the activities with fiat currencies decrease the price of bitcoin?

Bitcoin market price movement is unpredictable. No one for sure when is the time to go up and down. Last weeks crash was not predicted by anyone. Well, they make want we call and "educated guess" on how the price movement will be. So price is very unstable now, but we are all optimistic here and believing that the price of bitcoin will surely rise in the future.
11266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you using low fees? on: June 03, 2017, 07:48:58 PM
I think Electrum wallet will let you adjust the fees so that the transaction can be pick up faster. I haven't try it at all because I just got my first payment from a signature campaign. But if ever I want to transfer my funds then I guess I have to used the 400 sat/byte recommendation fees to make my transaction quick if I'm in a hurry.
11267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: June 02, 2017, 07:57:30 PM
instead of ruining your life in buying and using drugs, why don't you just invest your bitcoins and let it earn profits. by investing it, you will earn more. you can buy more drugs! lol. joke only. drugs will only ruin your life, family and future. say no to drugs and yes to bitcoin!
Yes thats it. Why dont we spend bitcoin for good? It could help us in our future rather than using it in a wrong way. People are free to use their bitcoins whatever they wanted but can I suggest that use bitcoin just to good only. Spending it for illegal things is not yet for your happiness it is just for happiness of the bad guys, they are controlling you and fool you.

Just like gambling, more people are into drugs, addicted to it. So maybe its hard for me to remove this vices from their body. For them its money and not bitcoin that they are using to buy illegal drugs. They just used bitcoin because of its pseudo-anonymity. But I agree, we better stay away from drugs because of the not so good it can bring to ourselves.
11268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DCORP Crowdsale - Democratizing Venture Capitalism on: June 02, 2017, 05:54:36 PM
Indeed, this project seems to be growing rapidly because it is built with solid team foundation which of course has a dedication and high loyalty, so as to create business opportunities that have good potential in future
It is also because there project is really good for many investors . The rapidly continuing up of the progress of this project is really unbelievable, I really got shocked when I read the information about the profit of the DCORP in just one day.

Yes. It's quite amazing indeed. But I'm expecting it to more though, to be honest. But 500K is not bad at all. I think it will increase in the coming days and get to millions of dollars. We all need to be patience and see it grow in the days to come.
11269  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 02, 2017, 04:32:08 PM
i don't get why people are emotionally attached to bitcoin only. it ain't emotionally attached to you.

it's maybe a terrible time to do some alt betting but there's nothing wrong with shameless profiteering when the opportunity was there. of course almost all of them are worthless. others may not know that so there's money to be made.

The opportunity is still there. Most users ever on Polo... play the pumps, dump on the chumps.

Very much still. Its has now become a playground of casual traders as well as big ass whalers. Pump here and there Dumping and walla, cashing it out before somebody noticing what happened. So the the opportunity is very much alive, you just have to know what altcoins to play back and forth to profit huge and then take a vacation to bahamas with your profits.
11270  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much to Trade? on: June 01, 2017, 05:06:32 AM
For me, I will only trade money that I can afford to lose. Trading is risky specially for newbie like me, but since I want this "job" i started doing it. But I only trade small so that risk is also small as well and I only put money that I can afford to lose so that I will not get disappointed or get frustrated if I lose my money.
11271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH fire to 0.1BTC per one now on: May 31, 2017, 05:41:13 PM
China market opened but still can't see the real pump. Lets wait and see

here's a thought. maybe they had a hand in pumping ethereum so they could finance all the bitcoin withdrawals. you can withdraw far more eth than btc from okcoin, ten times as much.

I also though that the Chinese are doing it again. But this time its with Ethereum. The scenario you outline could be well true. We all know how Chinese works, if they can go around a loophole then they will do it just to withdraw. It makes sense to me now what generates this pumping on Ethereum. I hope everyone can go exit out before they all be trapped in this bubble.
11272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: May 31, 2017, 05:02:00 PM
That's not gonna be easy for them to  sweep 4-0. Cavs are strong and have healthy players. Plus new additions of players which able to match the strength of their bench players. For me its gonna 4-2 for Golden State. This is revenge for Golden State. Durant i think is the key here. He is tough to defend because of his outside shooting and good finishing. Also GS is good on transition play. They should do that often.

Both teams are strong and well rested. It will be a long series. I am expecting game 7 on this one. For me, it will be cavs 4-3. I do not usually support cavs but I have seen how improved they are right now. They have better outside shooting now and good defense. Durant will have a hard time doing what he normally do.

Extending to game 7 would be awesome. At least we can get our money's worth and the NBA champion will be decided on the last game. I really don't know we will win this time, its hard to predict. I will just enjoy the game while it last. Superstars bringing their A-game. And bench players making a intangible contribution. NBA fever mania is all over globally with both teams play game 1.
11273  Economy / Speculation / Re: YORK's price prediction topic. on: May 31, 2017, 04:24:39 PM
YORK say something bullish!!!

Did you sell?  Shocked

hahaha where is York hiding?
Now he agrees with Afrikoin? LOL

York is making a new chart he will be back soon.  Grin Looks like York has dumped his bitcoin and remains to be vigilant and he is still observing from the background. It seems that he doesn't like the  UASF activation in August 1. He don't want to be trap, he's bailing out early. I don't know if he is agreeing with Afrikoin though. They seems to be on the different side as far as predicting the market trend.
11274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any way to have cheap transactions now? on: May 31, 2017, 12:19:32 PM
I think there is no way to cheap transaction.  Remember if you are transferring bitcoin, and wanted to change it for altcoin you have to go to an exchange and switch it to altcoin and vice versa.  This will only double your fee.  If your bitcoin is sitting at your desktop wallet, there is no way to have cheap transaction but to adjust the transaction fee at your own convinience since it will affect the confirmation time.

I agree, almost all wallets now have transaction fees and that's just the way it is. And most especially when bitcoins price went up a couple of days ago, those wallets you had before which had no fee are charging transactions fees now. As they say, business is business.

Its really up to the individual on how he wants to speed up his transaction. If you are in a hurry to get paid or paid someone, then you have to dynamically adjust it your self. But if you are a cheapo guy, then adjust it to your convenience but bear in mind that it may take days to reach bitcoin into your wallet.
11275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to control greed on gambling? on: May 31, 2017, 11:46:47 AM
it's not easy regardless of how much you win, there will be a desire to get more which might lead to the loss of the earned profit and capital money, setting a limit to yourself "of x bet, x profit" might be a good strategy IMO if you can enforce it on yourself.

Yes, but the problem lies when the gambler has loss by setting limits. And then he try to reach on his pocket once more to try and recover his loss bitcoin. So its really hard to set limit or enforce it when you are really addicted to gambling. The best way to really control is not to play and totally give it up. Because we all know that at the end, everyone will not win at all.
11276  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-30]Tally of losses from WannaCry cyber attack reaches $1 billion on: May 31, 2017, 10:50:09 AM
It could have been prevented by running proper up to date software. It's mind boggling how companies and government departments still make use of Windows XP and other outdated rubbish software. It all comes down to cutting costs, but the effect of this is that they end up with more costs as they have to buy new software, hire experts in an attempt to recoup data, etc. It's their own fault, and that's exactly why I don't feel sorry for them.

Exactly. That's why they have a IT department to take care of it. I guess, they are cost cutting and didn't think that a regularly update is needed to maintain the health of their system. And now this things happened and it cost them more than saving and it gives them a headache 24 x 7. I know this because I used to work as a Support and Maintenance of a companies assets including pc's and servers.
11277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One of many reasons why I love bitcoin on: May 30, 2017, 07:33:53 PM
Anonymity is the main reason why I love bitcoin. Although they can find you what addresses you use, using block explorers, they can't really find who you are in real life as that is very difficult to do. Privacy is the best option bitcoin ensures to all its users.

Specially if you love gambling as most people are here.  Smiley You just deposit BTC to a gambling site you love and play your favorite game at the comfort of your own home without having the hassle of going to a land based casinos. That's one advantage of bitcoin that we all love.
11278  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-05-30]What Are “Quindecillions” In A Bitcoin Context? on: May 30, 2017, 06:43:19 PM
What Are “Quindecillions” In A Bitcoin Context?

You may never hear the word "quindecillions" outside of a Bitcoin context, but it's an important and useful concept for understanding how the cryptocurrency works.

Satoshi Nakamoto’s original paper introduced Bitcoin “as a purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash (that) would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution.” Bitcoin brought with it a mechanism that overcomes the inherent weaknesses of the traditional transaction model, which is based on a third-party mediation or trust. These weaknesses create a number of inconveniences in the form of increasing transaction costs, limiting the minimum practical transaction size, and cutting off the possibility to make non-revocable payment. Bitcoin overcomes such flaws, as it’s based on cryptographic proof instead of a ‘trusted’ third party.

11279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alt Bubble Popped? on: May 30, 2017, 06:22:40 PM
Currently there is merely some stagnation. Just think how much the alts exploded - many 500% within months without any real reason.
This thing might go up a bit again, since there is still a lot of stupid-money entering.
But the bubble will burst eventually - and it will be nasty. "Suicide Hotline"-nasty.

But for some of the coins like Ethereum or Monro, they have some basis.

I think the altcoins is till pumping as of the moment. Only LTC and XRP are down and the rest are all green. Even ETH is almost $200 now. So I guess its going up again and we just need to watch until it will be burst again. I don't know if Chinese is pumping ETH, I saw one press release saying that Chinese is going into ETH lately and putting cash on it.
11280  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price going below 2k$ on: May 30, 2017, 05:34:18 PM
Price went below that level before few days but now its started to regain its price again and in coming days we will see the price crossing $2500 level and now I don't think that price will go below $2000 again as people have started to buy which is taking price higher.

I think we are going to see a bearish trend for the next days or even weeks to come. I observed the price to be ranging in $2200-$2300 and not going up. And for me this is much OK as compared to the dipping price we see a few days ago. Maybe next month we are going to see a up trend again. I hope.
