11261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any way to have cheap transactions now? on: May 31, 2017, 12:19:32 PM
I think there is no way to cheap transaction.  Remember if you are transferring bitcoin, and wanted to change it for altcoin you have to go to an exchange and switch it to altcoin and vice versa.  This will only double your fee.  If your bitcoin is sitting at your desktop wallet, there is no way to have cheap transaction but to adjust the transaction fee at your own convinience since it will affect the confirmation time.

I agree, almost all wallets now have transaction fees and that's just the way it is. And most especially when bitcoins price went up a couple of days ago, those wallets you had before which had no fee are charging transactions fees now. As they say, business is business.

Its really up to the individual on how he wants to speed up his transaction. If you are in a hurry to get paid or paid someone, then you have to dynamically adjust it your self. But if you are a cheapo guy, then adjust it to your convenience but bear in mind that it may take days to reach bitcoin into your wallet.
11262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to control greed on gambling? on: May 31, 2017, 11:46:47 AM
it's not easy regardless of how much you win, there will be a desire to get more which might lead to the loss of the earned profit and capital money, setting a limit to yourself "of x bet, x profit" might be a good strategy IMO if you can enforce it on yourself.

Yes, but the problem lies when the gambler has loss by setting limits. And then he try to reach on his pocket once more to try and recover his loss bitcoin. So its really hard to set limit or enforce it when you are really addicted to gambling. The best way to really control is not to play and totally give it up. Because we all know that at the end, everyone will not win at all.

It could have been prevented by running proper up to date software. It's mind boggling how companies and government departments still make use of Windows XP and other outdated rubbish software. It all comes down to cutting costs, but the effect of this is that they end up with more costs as they have to buy new software, hire experts in an attempt to recoup data, etc. It's their own fault, and that's exactly why I don't feel sorry for them.

Exactly. That's why they have a IT department to take care of it. I guess, they are cost cutting and didn't think that a regularly update is needed to maintain the health of their system. And now this things happened and it cost them more than saving and it gives them a headache 24 x 7. I know this because I used to work as a Support and Maintenance of a companies assets including pc's and servers.
11264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One of many reasons why I love bitcoin on: May 30, 2017, 07:33:53 PM
Anonymity is the main reason why I love bitcoin. Although they can find you what addresses you use, using block explorers, they can't really find who you are in real life as that is very difficult to do. Privacy is the best option bitcoin ensures to all its users.

Specially if you love gambling as most people are here.  Smiley You just deposit BTC to a gambling site you love and play your favorite game at the comfort of your own home without having the hassle of going to a land based casinos. That's one advantage of bitcoin that we all love.
11265  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-05-30]What Are “Quindecillions” In A Bitcoin Context? on: May 30, 2017, 06:43:19 PM
What Are “Quindecillions” In A Bitcoin Context?

You may never hear the word "quindecillions" outside of a Bitcoin context, but it's an important and useful concept for understanding how the cryptocurrency works.

Satoshi Nakamoto’s original paper introduced Bitcoin “as a purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash (that) would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution.” Bitcoin brought with it a mechanism that overcomes the inherent weaknesses of the traditional transaction model, which is based on a third-party mediation or trust. These weaknesses create a number of inconveniences in the form of increasing transaction costs, limiting the minimum practical transaction size, and cutting off the possibility to make non-revocable payment. Bitcoin overcomes such flaws, as it’s based on cryptographic proof instead of a ‘trusted’ third party.

11266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alt Bubble Popped? on: May 30, 2017, 06:22:40 PM
Currently there is merely some stagnation. Just think how much the alts exploded - many 500% within months without any real reason.
This thing might go up a bit again, since there is still a lot of stupid-money entering.
But the bubble will burst eventually - and it will be nasty. "Suicide Hotline"-nasty.

But for some of the coins like Ethereum or Monro, they have some basis.

I think the altcoins is till pumping as of the moment. Only LTC and XRP are down and the rest are all green. Even ETH is almost $200 now. So I guess its going up again and we just need to watch until it will be burst again. I don't know if Chinese is pumping ETH, I saw one press release saying that Chinese is going into ETH lately and putting cash on it.
11267  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price going below 2k$ on: May 30, 2017, 05:34:18 PM
Price went below that level before few days but now its started to regain its price again and in coming days we will see the price crossing $2500 level and now I don't think that price will go below $2000 again as people have started to buy which is taking price higher.

I think we are going to see a bearish trend for the next days or even weeks to come. I observed the price to be ranging in $2200-$2300 and not going up. And for me this is much OK as compared to the dipping price we see a few days ago. Maybe next month we are going to see a up trend again. I hope.
11268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fees!!! on: May 29, 2017, 05:50:35 PM
I think you need patience in order to see your withdrawals from the casino going into your wallet. It's not the casino's fault, we know what volatile the price of bitcoin is and that they are just adding fee's according to how they see it. I'm not really sure if they are using the 200 s/b fee, but if you have patience your winnings will soon be in your wallet.
11269  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will there be an epic dump? on: May 29, 2017, 05:20:39 PM
The weak hands has already sold all their bitcoin. They are shaken and scared that why they already dump their coins. There will be no epic dumps. Well not for now because it looks like the price is holding for long now at around $2200. There are few dumps here and there but just a few bitcoins not like the 50-100 BTC dumps we see in the beginning of this dump.
11270  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's next (short term) ? on: May 29, 2017, 04:20:07 PM
Another triangle about to break.
i see declining volume and a bearish divergence.

Meaning we are going to see a somewhat boring phase now? Its currently holding at $2200, which I think will be the bearish price for sometime now. So I think its much better to hold now than sell and just wait for a few price spike in the future before dumping again.
11271  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-28]Bitcoin Price Weekly Analysis – BTC/USD Holding Crucial Supports on: May 29, 2017, 11:05:34 AM
Dude, I'm crossing my fingers so the price will not fall until the $1600 because I'm going to have huge losses.

We will see how it will be in the next weeks, but I was already very happy when I saw $2600, ha ha ha

I thought the $3000 door was already open.

LOL. The dumping is over now dude. The price looks like holding at $2200 range, so don't be afraid. Yes, we need to see how the price will move right now. We might see $2600 again in the coming weeks as investors will pour another cash flow to the bitcoin ecosystem.

I hope it is over if that is what you are saying. Bitcoin movement is really volatile and it hard to predict which direction will it go. For some, the dumping was scary as shit, because seeing your profit going to drain in a blink of an eye. Japan or South Korean will again pump the bitcoin again and let us see what will happen in the next days.
11272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin banned in Ecuador on: May 29, 2017, 10:20:11 AM

In 2014, all the cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin was banned by the government in Ecuador. This was followed by the introduction of the country’s own digital currency, the Dinero Electrónico.

However, defiant Bitcoin users still continued using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. In fact, Bitcoin use in Ecuador has spiked due to the recent price rise.

Do you think that the Ecuador government will freely allow the use of Bitcoin as its popularity increases?

Obviously then banned it because they have their own digital currency with is the Dinero Electrónico. But for me, I speculate that there are Ecuadorians who are also bitcoin lovers and thus investing or doing trading underground. We can't forced them to accept bitcoin even it rose its popularity. But rest assured that they are going to miss a lot of opportunity if they didn't accept it.
11273  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-21]Bitcoin Price at New All Time High; Flirts With $2000 on: May 28, 2017, 10:46:00 AM
It was unbelievable it went up to $2700 and it went down to $1600, when it went down to $1600, I started to sweat with so much concern

Bitcoin goes up a lot from night to day and goes down a lot from night to day

Its part of the volatility of bitcoin price. But don't you worry, it can recover as well. That's the nature of bitcoin very unstable indeed. But currently the price is doing strong and going to $2200 now. If you are not used to it and be shaken by the sudden dip, then better think because we will see a lot of ride like this in the coming months and years.
11274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bubble Bursting or Just a Short Term Correction? on: May 28, 2017, 10:12:10 AM
For what I am understanding during the dump, it is only minor correction, but right now, more new people are getting panic because of the low price and made them panic selling, which cause them to lose more money. anyways, i hope it will be a great lesson to everyone Smiley

The dumping still continues but I don't see the price of bitcoin dipping to $2000? Bitcoin holding? I think the market is now back and we will be back again to $2200-$2500. That's how bitcoin price is very resilient and can recover too quick as well. Price going to the moon now.
11275  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin was at 2500$ on: May 28, 2017, 09:17:45 AM
I think $1300 will be tested again.

Have you been under the rock my friend? Newbie (or alt) spreading FUD. Lol. This is funny. Bitcoin price is holding now and above $2200 so I don't know what chart are you looking and saying that $1300 will be tested again. You should buy when the price is $1800-$1900 and now the price is rising again and so sorry you miss the opportunity to profit.
11276  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here we go on: May 28, 2017, 08:24:06 AM
Yes. It looks like the price is climbing back to $2200 now. I  guess the panic buying has subsides already that's why the price is going strong. I hope a lot of you guys were able to buy bitcoin back when the price is below $2000 because it will take long before another dip will happened.
11277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Small fortune, now which country ? on: May 28, 2017, 07:52:38 AM
I won't recommend any country for you mate, since is has been mentioned above by several posters. I just wish you luck you find the right country that you are looking for and live the life you and your fiancee have been dreaming of. And yeah, just keep us posted and maybe you can meet other bitcoiners on the country that you are going to settle.
11278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bubble Bursting or Just a Short Term Correction? on: May 27, 2017, 11:22:22 AM
This is a correction not a bubble burst, lots of new/nobo money came in recently, some are tkaing profits others are fuddign and getting out with losses. There is no bubble at all. There are no bad news nor anyone expects Bitcoin to go under 1000 ever again

I also want to believed that what we are seeing is not a bubble  that is bursting. But the way I see it, the dumping started with bitcoin and soon other alt coins has followed. So for me, its a bubble. But I still high hopes that we can go all back in track in coming days slowly and not what we see in the past weeks were the price rise much faster as expected.
11279  Economy / Speculation / Re: whoohoo what a dump, now great opportunity to get back in on: May 27, 2017, 10:45:33 AM
What a massive dump on Bitcoin and altcoin, now is the opportunity to load up on bitcoin and altcoin, get ready for a new wave

1 think rebuying btc at about 1800-1900 usd

you think it will go lower?

Well it could go lower, but no one know for sure. It is still your mindset if you want to buy bitcoin because it is going down right now. I sense that this is correction price, but I doubt it will go down $1500, that's too much bitcoin dumping in 3 days and most I think have already dump it today. So a new wave of buying will happen. So better buy it now and don't wait.
11280  Economy / Economics / Re: Possible big Crash coming within 10 days on: May 27, 2017, 10:17:47 AM
If only I have considered that a crash will be coming I should have converted my bitcoins to fiat currency when it was very high. The author was also wrong since he told us that it will happen in ten days time but it happened much earlier than expected. But I don intend to blame myself instead I will just hoard my bitcoin in my wallet and wait for the proper time to convert it to fiat currency.

Did you read the thread title?

It it just above your post and it reads that Bitcoin crash is coming within 10 days. Within means a period of time, not a certain date or a certain day. In fact, the price started to plummet right after the OP pushed the Post button. He probably pushed the Sell button soon thereafter as well. That said, we cannot yet make any definitive conclusion. I understand that many folks are now fear-ridden but what we see may just be another flash crash, like those that happened in January earlier this year. Back then the price also went down a few hundred dollars (almost as much in relative terms as now), and then Bitcoin stroke back and with a vengeance at that

And just like after SEC rejected the ETF application in March. It continues to plummet indeed as I'm writing. Maybe some are now cashing it in. We don't know. But just like before, bitcoin will recover soon and see the price going to the moon again as others want to see. This is just another roadblock and its unavoidable.
