1141  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest in Marketing on: July 12, 2023, 08:10:37 PM
Marketing starts with the product the product should first be good and customers will not hesitate to recommend it to other people and customers will not have second thoughts about buying it again, there's truth to it but for a product to grow it reaches its needs to be marketed, the products' and services' sustainability depends on the product and marketing, they will always go together

It's common knowledge that the product has to be good. If it ain't a good product it will certainly lose value after a while.  When I say Marketing should be better,  it doesn't mean your product should be trash.  A good product,  then effective marketing.

The best marketing strategy right now in my opinion is to involve as many celebrities and famous people as possible to endorse this product, which has proven to be very effective. And just advertising on television and social media their products have become the target of many people.
and most people will feel confident when using products or items advertised by famous celebrities because technology makes things easier and also easy to have those goods or products quickly without going out, just sit still and the goods will come as fast as possible.

How many people or businesses can afford celebrities and famous people?  So because a business cannot afford famous people they should not market their products?
There are very effective ways of marketing your product for it to get to the right audience without celebrities and famous people
1142  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The reason of why Bitcoin is good for trading (for me) on: July 11, 2023, 10:41:03 PM
So if I bought Bitcoin at the peak and the price keep decreasing, I will not sell it, but I will wait for the next super cycle where Bitcoin usually break new ATH.

From the experience I have got with these kind of senario not easy as you think, I was cought up in 2017, bought at the top and the continues to melt down, it was a painful experience that each day, weeks and months I didn't see for once where the price come to my entry point to have the opportunity to exit the market. Therefore If eventually I bought BTC and it happens to be at ATH, where the price fails to make new highs, To be sincere it doesn't make sense to hold at that point and immediately I'm getting out of that market because I will have a better opportunity by applying DCA strategy to buy at cheaper prices while the price crashes.

It's very difficult to keep holding after you just bought Bitcoin and it starts going down.  It happened to me recently,  though it wasn't that bad.  It was just before the period network fees skyrocketed. BTC was about 27k or thereabout.  The next day it started going down and down.
You know that the price will still rise,  but you can't help but feel uneasy.  It takes a whole lot of control not to sell at a loss.  Part of what made me not sell was because I occasionally have a few positives from the fact that price was not just constantly going down,  it increases by a few percent from the to time,  but ultimately the rate at which it was going down was worst.  Luckily it didn't last for a very long time.

1143  Economy / Economics / Invest in Marketing on: July 11, 2023, 02:51:22 PM
I have heard a lot of people say and believe that "if your product or service is good,  it would sell itself". That's not entirely true.
No matter how good your product/services are,  if people don't know about it or are not willing to patronize you, then you will have no customers or clients.
Some companies sell water and market it so well to the extent that people believe it is more nutritional than normal clean water when in fact it may just be water.

I know people will argue and point out a few companies that don't advertise their products,  yet they're successful, but I tell you for a fact that those companies invest in marketing one way or the other.  They just might have found a formula that works for them since they most likely have a relatively smaller target audience.

If big companies like Google, Coca-Cola, Binance,  Pepsi,  and the rest still invest heavily in marketing,  then how much more you that is still a small business or brand operating on a street in your neighborhood,  or you with a laptop and a phone on your bedroom table?

The rate of Gambling today has increased partly because of the marketing of online casinos and sports betting companies.
I don't think there's any industry today that doesn't have a high rate of competition.  It is now the survival of the fittest everywhere.
Having a perfect product or service to offer is not the only way to remain in business,  if it were so many companies won't go under. A major reason a business stays in business is through effective marketing.

"Marketing is expensive,  I don't make much as a business to compete with the rest"

Yes,  I'm well aware of how much it cost to get a billboard,  hire a marketing firm/agency,  get your ad on TV or radio or get an ad space in a magazine, or pay an influencer,  but the world has gone way beyond that and we all know it.  Now,  these mediums listed above are not irrelevant (on the contrary,  they are still very relevant ),  but there are other less expensive and easier ways to market your product.

Take advantage of the digital world we are in today and put yourself out there.
A simple social media account that posts relevant stuff about your business and interacts with clients and potential clients is marketing.
Very few people on this forum don't use at least one Google product.  Google has made it very easy to market your products and business using "Google ads".  You can put out an ad that gets to your target audience for as low as $10 a month. You can use the cost-per-click (CPC) formula,  that way you'll only pay for an ad when someone clicks on your ad.
Facebook ads are also very similar.  You can place an ad that costs from $1-$10 per click.  The same goes for youtube ads and many others.
These platforms have very good tools that can help you achieve your goal and achieve the objective set for your marketing campaign.
These may seem very complicated but they're not.  There are step-by-step guides you can follow.  They also have tracking tools you can use to track the effectiveness of your marketing campaign.
If you can't set it up by yourself or you don't have the time,  you can hire someone to do it for you.

For your business,  brand, or product to grow you have to make a conscious effort to make it more.  Your service or product has to be superb,  but I believe your marketing needs to be better.
A product is only as good as advertised.
1144  Economy / Economics / Re: Things you should know about Money mindset on: July 11, 2023, 01:15:26 PM
One thing I know and believe about life is that "you are never bigger than you think you are".  You can't be worth more than you think.  It all has to start from the mind first.
You have to believe that you are worth more,  and the only way you can be worth more is by acquiring knowledge.
It's your knowledge and experience that will make you worth more.  Experience is gotten with time,  so there's no getting around that,  but you can acquire knowledge by learning and developing yourself.  It's not only through experience you can acquire knowledge.

For every human being to succeed he has to think big about himself.  Don't sell yourself short.  Know that you can achieve whatever you set your mind to do.  Have a picture of what you want in your mind and work towards it.  It's okay for that picture in your mind to look unachievable,  provided it's realistic then you're good to go.
1145  Economy / Economics / Re: How to increase capital investment on: July 11, 2023, 12:39:58 PM
I think the easiest thing to increase capital is to sell the assets that we have, don't be afraid to sell assets because everything will be able to return when we get a profit, as long as we want to try and think positively then we will find a way out or a solution.

Is selling your asset the best way to increase capital? Isn't the asset what gives you money, so selling it off, how are you going to keep making that money?
Take Bitcoin for example, you can't just decide to sell your asset and hope to make profit without knowing that the price will rise or fall?
If the price of Bitcoin rises after you sell, you have made a loss. If the price falls, then you have can buy at a lower price and make some profit.

Thinking positively won't changes anything. If you sell off your real asset how are you going to keep making money since it was those asset that gives you money? On the contrary, you should be very careful while selling off your asset. Have you asked yourself why somebody is willing to buy that asset that you're selling off?
I'm not saying it's wrong to sell assets in some scenarios but it shouldn't be your go-to move.
1146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 10, 2023, 11:37:30 PM
Rebuilding a club like Chelsea isn't expected to be an easy task but judging him by his past, Mauricio Pochettino will certainly effect a positive and rapid growth to the team's performance come next season.
He did a great job at Tottenham Hotspur who didn't have much provisions for a manager like Chelsea does. So if he can succeed at Tottenham, I think he'll succeed Chelsea

Potter also did a good job at Brighton, a team with a very slimer budget when compared to Chelsea, how did he fare in Chelsea?
That being said, Calling Pochettino a success at Tottenham is subjective.
What are you basing it on?
If it's by trophies then he failed at Tottenham. A club like Tottenham should have been able to win at least one trophy. It doesn't have to be the league, but the FA cup or Carabao cup.

The best Chelsea will do is make the Europa league spot, and that would be huge progress considering where they were last season. Things might work out for Pochettino and Chelsea, but it will most likely take time. There's a lot of rebuilding to be done in that team.
1147  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk and the fall of Twitter on: July 08, 2023, 11:08:29 AM
Well said, my friend, you actually said my mind. Elon Musk thought it was business as usual thinking he can venture into anything and get it done better. Well, the Twitter purchase has put him on the wrong note, even the Tesla shares dropped so significantly. You see, if someone is touching almost everything and such things become successful, they see themselves as one demigod.

But not in all cases, social media is a different space entirely, especially when you are doing things that are anti-social media itself. He thought he can monetize everything better, but it boomerangs.

Actually, Elon Musk has started monetizing Twitter and it's going just fine for him.
A lot of people use Twitter, a lot of people don't know how much Twitter means to them, and I'm not talking of just businesses or companies and so on, I'm talking of common individuals. People who interact and spend time on Twitter. These people might just be seen interacting on Twitter, but they get a lot of updates from the app. News and sports channels report their news on Twitter, and crypto companies and almost every other company drop their updates on Twitter, they even drop links to the full stories.

People can keep up on a particular news update without actually watching the news if they have a reliable source on Twitter. Elon Musk knows this and he knows that there are people that are willing to pay to keep using this service.
Definitely, he will make mistakes, but he will learn from them, and he will get what he wants.

Recently he tried something to see how it will work, I guess he was just testing the waters. He knows what he's doing.
1148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 07, 2023, 09:34:34 PM
a little surprised by the transfers that Real Madrid is currently making, they now have a lot of midfielders, and if you look at the midfielders they all have the same quality so of course there will be fierce competition to be able to get the main place.

Arda Guler is an investment for the future, he is only 18 years old and Real Madrid does this a lot, as was done with Martin Odeegar and now Arda Guler is back like that again, the chances of him succeeding at Real Madrid are slim in my opinion, but this is enough to be a stepping stone in order to develop.

To me, Arda Guler is the best signing Madrid made this summer. I know they signed Bellingham, and they might sign Mbappe, but Guler is exactly the kind of player they need right now second only to a natural center forward.
Withou Bellignham, Camavinga can play the box to box midfielder role, without Mbappe, Vinicius has been on fired, but without Modric, there is no real creativity in the Madrid midfield, that's where Guler comes in.
He's young I know, but I believe if Madrid can trust him, he will make sure the club doesn't miss Modric just as Modric made sure the club didn't miss Ozil.
1149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: July 07, 2023, 09:22:15 PM
They just want to write, I don't think they watch or even play soccer.
Even before the arrival of Erling Haaland, Manchester City have been a tough, likewise great side, but he Erling Haaland also gave Manchester City an extra edge when it comes to attacking, pressing and scoring goals. All the goals he scored wouldn't have ever been possible if he lacks supportive team mates. Kevin De Brunye is a a tactical and technical genius, Gundogan the controller of the game, Rodri the engine room for Pep Guardiola and Kudos to Jone Stones for supporting him when he needs support.

To Bernado Silva and to Mahrez and likewise Jack Grealish, though he wasn't able to get a single goal during the Champions League.
These players all contributed and with those passes to him, he wouldn't have scored that much. Erling Haaland is great I concur, But, he also had fewer goals contribution, all he did much was high pressing and scoring goals and farting for opposition defender's LoL  Grin

I agree with it. Haaland has improved their scoring skills more maybe. But it wouldn't be fair to say that the main reason of their winning the Champions League title or the whole success of them are thanks to Haaland. Manchester City were already a strong team before Haaland. They were already playing strong as a team.

They just wanted to complete the missing piece of the puzzle. Because Jesus wasn't exactly the kind of Manchester City wanted after parting ways with Aguero. Haaland was just the kind of a striker who could meet their expectations. But like I said it wouldn't be fair to overlook the overall performance of the team and say that it was mostly Haaland's contribution.

Aside from that Haaland didn't even make a goal contribution in last rounds of the Champions League last season. I don't say this to talk badly about Haaland of course he is amazing. You get my point.

No striker in football achieves what Halland achieved last season without his teammates. I agree with you that every player in that Manchester City team was crucial to their dominance of last season, but don't make it look like Halland does nothing than score easy goals already created by other players.

When you talk about the 700 goals of Ronaldo, you don't mention the support he got from his teammates, so why is it different with Halland? It's common knowledge that a striker needs good players behind him to flourish so why do people always bring up the issue of the support Halland gets when talking about the goals he scored? Was he supposed to d it on his own?
1150  Economy / Economics / Re: Fix the money, Fix the world. on: July 07, 2023, 09:05:48 PM
Bitcoin being the only currency in the world doesn't change this. It doesn't eliminate class.
If what you're suggesting does happen and Bitcoin successfully becomes the only currency in the world, that is all it would be, a currency. The rich will still have more of it and the poor will work for it.
It would be just as it is today, everybody will still work to make money, and nothing changes.
The significant change will be the fact that you have control of your money and not the government and third-party companies, and you can send money to any country of your choice without any hiccups.
1151  Economy / Economics / Re: does bitcoin help in your economy? on: July 07, 2023, 08:55:20 PM
I can't tell how crypto has improved my country's economy if it has at all, but I can confidently say that crypto has improved a lot of lives in my country. Without crypto, a lot of people won't be where they are today. I am one of such people.

I have friends that were involved in crypto long before me, even though they've had a couple of rough patches in their journey, their lives are way better compared to when they were not involved in crypto.
Young people like me can have so many assets in their portfolio, something that was very rare before Bitcoin.
Bitcoin broke the cycle of working hard for years before you can be able to have a solid investment.
Many people, including myself, are financially independent today, thanks to Bitcoin.

People can argue that if Bitcoin improves the financial lives of individuals, then it affects the economy, and I think I agree with this. Individuals also make up the economy and if their income increases, it affects the economy because they will spend more, and that money is spent in the economy. As high as the unemployment rate is in my country, I believe it would have been at least 0.1% higher if the crypto industry didn't exist.
1152  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Could world war 3 be inevitable? on: July 06, 2023, 10:40:09 PM
As much as there are those who benefit from war, I don't think any country wants an all-out world war. It will be too devastating. This is why a lot of countries try their possible best not to involve themselves in the war between Russia and Ukraine officially.
World War 2 was bad, world war 3 will see a total annihilation of cities and even countries.
I cannot predict how things will be in a thousand years to come, but the world is threading on a thin line right now, any little thing can cause trouble and if not checked it can escalate.
1153  Economy / Economics / Re: Is this a Strategy? Is it a good Strategy? on: July 06, 2023, 09:00:47 PM
I've seen people, influencers, and celebrities especially build their brands based on controversies. It works because they have what people are interested in hearing. People love drama, but I honestly don't know why they enjoy it.
I don't believe these beefs are as exaggerated as they are in real life.
Some are genuine beef, some are exaggerated by social media, and some are intentionally orchestrated.
There's a saying that all publicity is good publicity. It depends on the industry you are in. If you're in the entertainment industry, this might be true, but other than that, I feel the only good publicity is good publicity.

I don't pay attention to celebrity fights and beef because it's none of my business. I can't be all in other people's business, it just doesn't make sense, except you're making money from it.
1154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The hypocrisy of the UK on Cryptocurrency on: July 06, 2023, 08:06:50 PM
I don't expect the government to be favorable towards crypto, so I don't get surprised by news like these.
It's very hypocritical to punish a whole industry because of the failures of some people while helping out another industry when they crumble. If the FTX saga was a bank the government would have stepped in to really help and make sure it doesn't go bankrupt.

Bitcoin and other coins, and tokens were created without the help of the banks. People can buy coins and tokens without the need of the banks. You have your coins in bank, you do not have the keys yourself.

However we look at it, it's very difficult to live life without fiat and those fiat are kept in the bank. So we always have business with the banks, especially in some countries. Most people buy their bitcoins with fiat and how do you want to buy without transferring from a bank?

1155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 05, 2023, 11:07:48 PM
Liverpool already have players who can play in the number 9 position in firmino’s absence. Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo are both capable of playing in that position while Dias and Jota play on the left flank, there is no problem of getting a replacement for Firmino except Jurgen Klopp decides he needs an extra pair of legs to boost the depth of the squad but outside that I think Liverpool need to bring one or two defenders in this summer and they are good to go.

Liverpool can just add an additional player in attack that can be a backup for Gakpo.
What I think they really need now is a central defender. They are going after Levi Colwill but that will not come cheap. I don't believe he's worth the price but I also believe Liverpool should go for him. He is a very decent center back and he will make a very good pairing with whoever Klopp decides to pair him with at the back.

I also feel Liverpool needs another central midfielder to add to MacAllister and Szoboszlai. These two players and very good players that would defiantly strengthen Liverpool but I feel a third should be added. A player with equal quality so they have quality squad depth.
1156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: July 05, 2023, 09:54:45 PM
It seems that spending money to buy a star player is not their style in every transfer exchange. Diego Simeone released more star players than buying it, let's say Griezmann who was released to Barcelona even though Barca was their own competitor in La Liga and then bought it back from Barca after the price dropped. Seeing Atletico's style on the Tranfer Exchange is almost similar to the style of one of the Bundesliga Borussia Dortmund clubs who like to sell players to rival clubs Munchen.

For Atletico Madrid, it's not like they don't like to, or want to sing big players, it's just that they can't afford them.
The regulations of La Liga are too strict that's why clubs from the league find it difficult to sign players.
You can see mid-table teams in the EPL making big money signings but teams in La Liga can't do it. Barcelona is even barely managing because they are a big club and players are willing to take a pay cut to play there. Somehow Madrid is the only La Liga team not too affected by the regulations.

Spanish teams sell their big players because they can't afford to pay them and secondly, because they need the money.
The current La Liga president is shocking the teams and I wonder how he doesn't see it. He even refused to pay just 3 million euros for goal-line technology. The league has deteriorated under his leadership.
The presidential elections are in December, I hope he loses and the league get a better person to manage the affairs of the league.
1157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 05, 2023, 09:04:41 PM
Still i wonder if he dosent win the champions league will he get sacked in the first season like coaches before him.
This is the big question, both Mauricio Pochettino and Christophe Galtier were sacked after one season in charge, despite both of them winning the Ligue 1, but failing to win the CL. Well i don't think Luis Enrique will be sacked after one season if he does not win the CL, they will want to rebuild their team with Enrique in charge. Neymar and Mbappe could well join Messi and Sergio Ramos as part of the stars to leave the club this summer, so the club wouldn't expect Enrique to bring quick success to the team, he would have to take his time to find the best players for psg and that will take more than a season for that happen.

I don't think the managers that were sacked at PSG were sacked mainly because they got knocked out of the champions league. The champions league was a reason but it was not the only factor the decision to let the coaches go was based.
on.
The way the PSG team play is a factor. PSG didn't play good football under Pochettino and Galtier. They were struggling. When you have a team that plays well and competes with the top teams when they meet in the champions league, the manager won't be sacked even if he got knocked out by the other team.
Take Pep Guardiola for example, he always got knocked out of the champions league for about seven years or so, but the club never thought of sacking him even though the Champions League is what they really needed. They had trust in him because he has shown what he is.
If the previous managers showed that they could lead the project they wouldn't have been fired, instead they would have been have been backed by the club.

Nobody expects a coach to come to a team and do magic. The coach has to show that he's worthy to be trusted before he can be trusted to be there for a long time.
1158  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't consider yourself lucky on: July 04, 2023, 09:04:27 PM
This is an old scam, and I've listed it on my top most annoyingly dangerous crypto scam ever existed Grin
I think newbies still get jebaited from this method, as it's not a stupid scam like sending money to get 2x in return or impersonation from Vitalik's Twitter. It is seemingly technical with a private key and has some tokens in it, so the victim thinks they are smart to steal the money. This isn't for Timmy who can't even swipe a wallet and transfer tokens.

Anyway, for all kinds of scams, this quote will help you: "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably shit."

" for all kinds of scams"
How would someone tell you to send a certain amount of Bitcoin and get back double the amount in an hour and you fall for that shit? That's absurd.
Some will come to you with risk-free investment. How does anybody believe that? Every investment has a certain level of risk, so if an investment doesn't have a risk it means that person is lying to you.

We can't be too careful these days. A lot of these scams these days look legit. They don't come with only the too-good-to-be-true offers anymore. In any case, there is always something that points out something is a scam, there's always a red flag, a sign. We should never ignore the red flags. Greed would try to make us ignore but we have to be better than that.
1159  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is risky, be conscious on: July 04, 2023, 06:57:19 PM
What would be your advice for those wanting to trade as a newbie?

Learn.
Take time and learn. Learning never stops, so even when you have learned and understood how trading works, you can still learn by gaining experience. Not everything will be taught to you when you're learning. Trading is something you learn on the job, it's a practical thing, and you'll only get better as you go.

Before you can succeed in anything, you have to develop a liking for that thing first. Trading is no different. If you don't like trading but want to trade because others are making money from it, you will most likely lose money to it. I believe this because when you don't like trading you'll find it hard to learn new things and keep up with the market.
1160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are giving too much importance to exchanges on: July 04, 2023, 04:42:16 PM
I like the word you used; "down", not "gone". As far as you didn't sell your Bitcoin when the price went down, your savings is not gone, the value just dropped and it will get back up again, it might just take time.

Saving coins with exchanges is technically the same thing as saving money in the bank. A centralized system stores your money in the bank, while a centralized system stores your coin in a CEX. I wonder why people don't get this. I am not entirely against centralized exchanges but it is very wrong to save your coins in them. It ends badly most of the time. I don't know how much this needs to be stressed before people get it.
Used the exchanges to trade, if you want, but you shouldn't save in them.
