11401  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin dropped to $1, what you do? on: August 04, 2016, 05:53:52 PM
If the bitcoin price drops to $1, I will buy a lot of it. I have been accumulating the bitcoin at the current price.

That's a right decision. I'm not talking about $1 because this will never happen, but to buy below $600 like it is now is a great opportunity and it will not last long. Many people here were thinking several weeks ago "Why didn't I buy below $600?" and now they have a good chance to buy.
11402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Danger when buying/selling BTC in person on: August 04, 2016, 12:40:27 PM
So i was reading an article about someone who got robbed when he tried to buy in person 28000$ of Bitcoin
http://www.coindesk.com/florida-bitcoin-sale-knifepoint-robbery/
Personally i avoid dealings like this cause it is not easy to trust a random stranger.
How about you?do you buy or sell bitcoins in person? If yes have you ever had any bad experiences?

Yeah, I've read the article and it was a disturbing news. I'm glad the attacker was arrested shortly afterwards but I can't understand why he was released later. If he really threatened a guy with a knife and took his money he should stay in jail IMO.

I don't like news like this one because they add to the bad reputation of Bitcoin, but if you use your brains just a little you can see that things like this happen without Bitcoin involved too, so Bitcoin is not the reason of this crime.
11403  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you guess about he future of bitcoin? on: August 04, 2016, 10:07:53 AM
Looks like it will be staying at 630-670 for a while now and just wait for the halving to happen. Whew!s I am glad I sold some when its price soar at 750+  Tongue

The future of bitcoin will be very bright in the coming year and you are talking about price that it is staying between 630 to 670$ so the price will be reach 800 to 900$ in the end of this year !!
I do not think there will be people who know about the future of bitcoin. it is still very vague and unformed. bitcoin future will depend to users themselves. if the user continues to grow, the future will be good as well as the price will be high because high demand = grow users
halving day has passed , and yet the promised bitcoin price will rocketed not happen.

but i am predicting after yesterday down price ,soon in the next two months rocketed price will really happen. i still keep my faith on bitcoin , it is holding a lot of potential to be more than just a digital money.

I think you are right. Bitcoin is already going up step by step. I'm pretty sure that people who will manage to buy below $600 will be in good profit couple of weeks later.
11404  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I earn much bitcoin? on: August 04, 2016, 09:57:02 AM
Hello guys, i still new to bitcoin lol Grin

I have some question going on my head... that is where can the Bitcoin Experts get soo many Bitcoins, i want to earns some Bitcoins too but i too Noob for this thing Grin. soo maybe some members can help me?

-Sorry for my bad English, Thanks  Smiley

First of, if it were so easy to earn a lot of Bitcoins, everybody would have a lot of them already. Bitcoin is a currency, you can exchange it for USD so it has a real value and that's why it's not easy to earn them a lot. BUT you can earn a pretty decent amount with a good signature campaign and you can earn some doing other small internet jobs for Bitcoin. I personally don't recommend Cloud Mining and Trading with altcoins. The first is waste of money, the second is waste of time.
11405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or a gold bar with the same value? on: August 03, 2016, 04:01:46 PM
Let's test your belief in Bitcoin's potential. OK, let's say someone approach you, and offer you two options for free...

1. 10 bitcoins

or

2. A gold bar with the same value at the time.

What will you chose? We all say, we believe in Bitcoin and it's future, but if you faced with this decision... would you go for the traditional safe heaven or would you go with the new Bitcoin option, that

are still in it's experimental phase?

Give me your reasons, why you would take the one over the other.... I know which option people will chose that are not familiar with Bitcoin ----> Gold bar.  Roll Eyes

I would definitely choose Bitcoin and the main reason is that you can sell any part of it if you need some cash, but would you do with the gold bar in that case? You'd sell it a you'd end up with a pile of fiat money which cost less and less with time. Another reason is that I believe Bitcoin will rise more in the future than gold will.
11406  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The less you own, the more you have on: August 03, 2016, 10:12:34 AM
Minimalism + Bitcoin = happiness

I have been living this lifestyle for about 4 years. Everything I own can fit in a carry-on and a backpack (other than a box of childhood stuff at my mother's house). My expenses are about 10% of my monthly income having downsized to a small 35 sqm apartment. I bought a cheap/reliable car, paid in cash (my criteria was something that would last 2 years, good gas mileage and I wouldn't mind walking away from).

By doing this I can focus on the things in life that truly make me happy, last year I traveled to one new country a month. I don't worry about money like I used to. I will probably be able to quit my job in the next few years and do something I enjoy instead of just working for the money. And it has allowed me to accumulate bitcoins. Continuing this lifestyle will allow me to see the world and be independent/free instead of having to spend my life protecting my stuff.

Bitcoin does a lot to help with this lifestyle as I would not be able to be as mobile with gold, moving place to place carrying large amounts of gold across borders while I can carry my private key easily anywhere. I can always find a localbitcoins seller in whatever country I go to to get local currency.

The Less You Own, The More You Have (TED talk)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyKmpyYy14k

That was an interesting read! I'm glad for you, OP, and I really hope I will be able to live at least close to what is your lifestyle is. To visit one new country even in 6 months is my long time dream. Also it's nice to see that one can always easily change Bitcoins to get a local currency anywhere.
11407  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: August 03, 2016, 09:57:33 AM
The bitcoin is still very risky. Not only newbies are losing their bitcoin, but also big exchanges like Bitfinex.

They lost roughly 120,000 BTC and that's more than $60m, big money, and while the hackers will be selling the stolen coins the price will be declining, but since Bitcoin market cap is $ 8,654,074,226 right now, which is more than 100 times bigger than the amount stolen, I think Bitcoin will survive, and I predict it will be around $650 again in two weeks.
11408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: August 03, 2016, 09:44:21 AM
I don't know why but I always get a feeling to gamble, after then losing my money, I quit for some time and then continue, but I know I will lose my btc Sad

Why is it so addictive?

There are different kinds of people, for some it's addicting and for some it's not. Also the same person could be the first or the second in different periods of time. IMO being addicted to spending time gambling is one thing but being addicted to your greed is what is really bad.
11409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Bitfinex Hacked] So , learned the lesson ? on: August 03, 2016, 09:21:34 AM
Once again , Bitfinex has been hacked and I just want to ask you people , have you learned the lesson yet ? I assume not otherwise you wouldn't keep your funds in an exchange (I'm not speaking with those who kept their bitcoin for short period of time , those accidents happens but I'm mostly speaking for those who had their bitcoins laying there for weeks/months)

I'm not trying to be rude or anything but for the last time , please ... please ! Just withdraw your funds from exchanges . I'm not sure what you got to lose here , this procedure will only secure your coins and make you safer.

I'm very sorry if anyone lost their money and I'm sure hackers will not be happy with what they have stolen. Yes, if you have more than 20 USD in an exchange or anywhere else it's better to withdraw the money to your wallet and don't leave them for hackers to steel.

That's been said, I think Bitfinex, or any other site which was hacked, should return all the money to the users who lost them because it was their responsibility to prevent the hacking.
11410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this what we called "addictive to gamble"? on: August 02, 2016, 08:43:27 AM
we know that most of the times we lost on gambling, but instead of stopping we keep on playing for the next day

after we lost, we got frustrated but we still back to play, is this called "gamble addiction"?

Yes, this is exactly a sign of a gambling addiction. But IMO if you know you will lose it's not as bad as if you think you can really win. If your addiction to gambling is limited to losing couple of dollars per week it's not that bad, right?
11411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Best Way To Encourage Offline Store To Accept BTC on: August 02, 2016, 08:23:21 AM
And then clients need to wait 6 hours for transaction to confirm because network can't handle all transactions.

Bitcoin is not to be used in that way.

Just ask the stores to accept zero confirmation and use 3rd party services such as BitPay if necessary.
Or wait till bitcoin network ready to handle more transaction before we encourage more shops to accept bitcoin.

I think if stores want to do business they should accept zero confirmation. I was always wondering how much do they really risk to lose when accepting zero confirmation? I may be wrong but I think - nothing really. All transactions made by regular people buying goods get confirmed sooner or later, right?
11412  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC at $500 means that I am finally in the green, others too? on: August 02, 2016, 07:38:46 AM
this year was turned into profit for many traders and users nit due to halving but something else but we have seen the price reached upto 600$ and now again started falling

I think the bitcoin price might not rise in the near future as the funds are moving to the Ethereum now.

Which funds are you talking about? With all due respect Ethereum is falling now. It's not a big fall but it's a fall anyway. And I'm talking about ETH / BTC relation, so Bitcoin is in a better position now.
11413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Help about Gambling? on: August 02, 2016, 07:29:24 AM
I want to know which is the best option for gambling:-
1) Dice games
2) Blackjack
3) Roulette
4) Slots.....
I have tried Dice games but I am not Satisfied with it. I want to know your opinions which is the best gambling option From the above list?Huh?

IMO Dice is the best. It's simple so you can play right away without learning some rules. Slots are also simple but I don't like them one-handed bandits. ) Anyway don't think you can make money with gambling.
11414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is stealing Bitcoin illegal? on: August 02, 2016, 07:14:55 AM
( Re: Is stealing Bitcoin illegal? )

So, when you asked your lawyer this question, what did he say?

I believe it depends on the quality of the lawyer..
~

Yes, it depends on the quality of the lawyer and as we know a good lawyer can make you go free from the court even if you've committed a crime, but still we can see and decide by ourselves whether the thing is right or not. Stealing Bitcoin is like stealing any other valuable thing, it's illegal and it's really bad in general.
11415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about the idea of a bitcoin shop in big cities? on: August 01, 2016, 07:42:42 AM
Hey Guys,

what would be your opinion if there would been Bitcoin shops in big cities like London, Berlin or Paris (also smaller cities).
So you could go inside the shop and buy or sell Bitcoin for a good price.

I think it would be an good (and an advantage) idea because more people would use Bitcoin so the price would rise up and the people who are owning Bitcoins at the moment would have more money in Bitcoins. Wink

Best regards,

Patrick Smiley

Yes, that's a great idea and I absolutely support it. There is no doubt already that Bitcoin is a real currency but somehow most people still don't realize it. Bitcoin will be accepted in stores globally, it's just the matter of time.
11416  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I earn much bitcoin? on: July 31, 2016, 09:47:40 AM
Ya might get bitcoin on the signature campaign and then use it to trade will get more bitcoin. But for trade to be studied in detail so that it can benefit a lot. It would be more effective and I think easy to do.

I don't think trading is an easy thing to do. I just recently entered the game and immediately lost several dollars after buying a shitcoin which went dead two hours later. You should really know what you are doing if you want to make money with trading.
11417  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can I offer the use of my electricity? on: July 31, 2016, 09:35:06 AM
Thats really cheap electricity so i think your city might not be a big city means not very technologicaly progressed so i doubt you will get a good internet connection which works continuously without disconnecting. If it does then u can try this.
He's in Canada, so he shouldn't have any issues with connectivity. It seems that most ISPs in Canada are fairly reliable, even the poor ones.

OP, I'm going to assume that from your username, you're located in Banff. If you're located inside of the park, your options are probably fairly limited as to how much hardware you can host. I doubt you'll be allowed to build a warehouse to host mining gear inside of the park, but that's probably higher scale than you're planning on going.

If you plan to host a few miners out of your home or business, I think people would definitely be interested in 4 cents per kWhr power rates so you may have some people take you up on miner hosting services. The main problem with that plan is that you're a Newbie on the website with no previous trade history. Most people won't be willing to send you mining gear worth thousands of dollars for the promise of cheap hosting services as there would be nothing stopping you from running off with their hardware.

That's what I thought too. Not saying that I suspect OP is unfair, but he/she is most likely inexperienced so they need not only the mining gear but an experienced operator also.

That's been said, I really hope OP will find a way to use the cheap electricity for mining.

there is a way to do this

he buy the miner first,  your money for it remain in escrow, so he can not run away, then you can control the miner, and take 100% of the profit, you pay electricity plus hosting, but it must be a total that do not exceed too much the cost of electricity itself

when the miner repayed for itself, the money will be released, this was my idea to do a business like this with someone, because i need cheap electricity

That's a good approach IMO. Only people in general don't have money for buying mining gear by themselves and that's why they propose to send them your gear and wait for profits. Considering a lot of factors I think it's too risky even if both parties are honest.
11418  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we Manipulate Bitcoin price? on: July 31, 2016, 09:25:55 AM
Not likely with the current market capitalization!! It would absolutely be possible with an altcoin though.

Aka:
*PUMP AND DUMP*

Want to do it solo? Find a shitcoin and buy $500 worth every day for 10-30 days then sell sell sell!

Yes, with an unknown altcoin it's pretty easy but not with Bitcoin. And even if we could do it, I personally against the *PUMP AND DUMP* strategy. What will be the price of Bitcoin after that DUMP? Do we really need that?
11419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: July 31, 2016, 09:06:21 AM
Because everyone wants easy money stuffs like you can earn a lot of money just by simple stuffs. Being overtaken by greed is a prettt bad thing that you should quit gambling. Better safe than sorry

but gambling won't make anyone easy money. if someone think that he can make easy money for gambling then he's absolutely wrong.
gambling is just looks like easy money. but when you get enter into it and play some time. you'll realize that it is not a way to make easy money. even it make you loose and loose all your money and nothing will left for you.

Although some lucky people do win big money with gambling it happens so rare that you can say it never happens at all. One should take a look at statistics and not at separate cases which don't reflect the whole picture. So I agree wuth you, gambling is a one way track to losing.
11420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is stealing Bitcoin illegal? on: July 31, 2016, 08:59:10 AM
It should be illegal because it has value and if it is taken out of the possession of someone that is robbery

I read a story on here last week saying that the judge threw out a case because it involved bitcoin and therefore was not viewed as a real currency so no charges could be laid.

That there tells you how the judicial system views any transaction donewith bitcoin as non-existent in the world.

IMO that was just one particular case. How the judicial system views  any transaction done with bitcoin depends on the lawers and on the laws in a particular country. Stealing Bitocin is illegal and even creating a ponzi scheme involving Bitcoin is illegal too.
