11481  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When did bitcoin get so expensive to use? on: March 12, 2017, 07:34:35 AM

Hi,

Tried to move some cash from my computer to the wallet on my phone (about £75), it's been sitting unconfirmed for a couple of days, and the phone app says I should up the mining fee to fifteen bloody quid! Hadn't used BTC for a while, and at those prices, I can't see me using it much ever again. What gives?

~S

First off, you are not the first one to complain about the increasing transaction fee's almost everyone using bitcoin is, and others have move away from bitcoin because of this issue. The growing miner fee has left Bitcoin unfit for small transactions. As one member has said, It's not expensive, it just costs more than it used to. At present, we can only hope for the developer??? community to come up with few quick fixes that can at least temporarily resolve the issue with transactions. Only thing you can do is too wait or increase your fee so that it has a higher chance to be confirmed.
11482  Economy / Economics / Re: How Bitcoin will reach $2000 to $10000 in 2017 and $100k by 2026. on: March 12, 2017, 07:05:52 AM
This is a interesting prediction. We are still in 2017 but it looks like we are not near the $2000. Although its too early to say because we are still in the first quarter of the year and with the ETF not approved, looks like $2000 price range is far fetch for now. And a lot of factors should be also considered here, like the scalability issue to for bitcoin to have a lot of investors so that the price could pick up and reach at $2000 end of the year. I really like his prediction, who wouldn't but I doubt because of a lot facts or fixed limits that needs to be established first before it can happen.

Bitcoin Price Weekly Analysis – BTC/USD Decline Looks Fake?

Key Points

-Bitcoin price saw a lot of swing moves recently against the US dollar due to the SEC verdict to list Bitcoin ETF.
-The price was rejected completely near a bearish line on the 4-hours chart (data feed from SimpleFX) of BTC/USD near $1184.
-However, the price is losing the steam, and remains at a risk of a downside move.
-Bitcoin price made a sharp downside move after the SEC predict on ETF, but is this decline in BTC/USD real or fake?

Bitcoin Price Downside Move and ETF Decision

There was a major event lined up recently, as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission announced their verdict to list the Bitcoin ETF. They decided against, and disapproved the request, which produced a sharp downside move in Bitcoin price. The BTC/USD pair was earlier seen trading close to $1200, but after the decision, the price declined. A new downside wave was initiated, as the price moved from the $1184 high to the $1061 low.

Bitcoin Fell Hard Again after ETF Decision

Bitcoin showed a very steep rise last night, rising over $100/coin in just a matter of minutes.  It was quite a shock to see, and undoubtedly thrilled a few who were long, and undoubtedly spurred a lot of people to take new positions at what was ultimately a swing high.

Overnight (Asia time) that irrational exuberance was punished by a severe fall to $960 on Kraken.  Of course, the news event that allegedly sparked that selloff was the rejection of the ETF.  But the chart gave a warning to those who watch the charts.  You see, at the high, pricetime hit the long-term 1×1 Gann Angle AGAIN.  That angle has been like the electric 3rd rail for a very long time:

11485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction. on: March 11, 2017, 12:42:01 PM
Why is someone get addicted to gambling once he gamble ?

Because the individual gambler allowed the addiction to be input to their behavior of playing gamble. Until it became their habit, then as time goes by they've became addicted in the games inside the gambling sites.

That's what will happen when greed come in. Trying to win more even if you already had enough. Addiction is something that cannot be stopped specially when you are also on the losing side. Trying to win back everything that is lost even if just thinking of getting back the capital without win. That is where it will start to where you will lose more.
Been there, doing it at Yobit with their dice to which I thought I am on the winning side and truly lucky but after all of that I lost everything.

Its about greed when greed got you and believe me it will get you everytime, then addiction will began to take a hold off you. And the greed factor ramped right up and that your every win should be more than your previous win but when you lost you want to get it all back and more likely that your biggest lost were all result of attempts to win more which didn't happened. Sometimes it is also about ego. You can't let the casino beat you, you should be one winning here, not them, you have to him thus, you start to chase all your losses but ended up losing it all anyways.
11486  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin benefit of saving for a long time? on: March 11, 2017, 12:10:35 PM
Saving bitcoin for some is a long time investment. So a lot of people are investing in bitcoin because of a higher probability of maximizing your returns in the future. So let's say that you are slowly buying bitcoin in the last couple of month or even years, then decided that you are going to selling it during the ATH prior to the SEC decision on bitcoin ETF, then you are likely has profited. Then you can start the cycle again by buying low and holding it for a bit then if there is another price run or price rise then sell it again. That's one benefit of holding or saving bitcoin for a long time.

11487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: March 11, 2017, 09:01:10 AM
Too bad I feel sorry on saying this that western union is still better than bitcoin nowadays. Because they had a lot of customers throughout the world and those people doesn't have any knowledge when it comes to bitcoin or crypto currency. But I know one day they will be informed about bitcoin and will even try to use it for remittances.
As you said and I could conclude that western union have many customers because of many people still lack knowledge of bitcoin, but, it's have nothing to do with whether which one of bitcoin and WU is better.
There's many services out there that poorly offered and have many customers meanwhile there's good services that only having low customers also exist, the amount of customers have nothing to do with the quality of the service providers.

People are comparing almost everything with bitcoin. And expect to see more comparison about bitcoin vs everything. But when it comes to service I do love both, I've got relatives that doesn't have knowledge with bitcoin and I don't have choice but to use WU when remitting and receiving money from abroad.

Yes me too. My relatives and friends that are used to send me or send them using Western Union are ok with them even though the charge are big. I already told me that the fee's are really huge and they should change the payment by using bitcoin. But I guess they don't to used bitcoin because they heard that bitcoin are used for dark webs so I don't force them anymore. The most important thing for them is that the money went to my account without hassle on their side. But from time to time, I tell them all about bitcoin and hope they chance their mind.
11488  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sweden returns a call to the army in connection with the threat from Russia on: March 11, 2017, 08:01:20 AM
I assume that Sweden wants to bring back military conscription because of the political and military changes around in borders and neighbors.
"The Russian illegal annexation of Crimea [in 2014], the conflict in Ukraine and the increased military activity in our neighbourhood are some of the reasons,". according to the Press Secretary to the Swedish Minister for Defence. I guess they are feel threaten by the ongoing military exercises of Russia around the Baltic. You can't blame them as they have the every right to defend their country, but I don't think they will likely go into conflict with the Russians because they know that they will not win any war them.
11489  Economy / Speculation / Re: I will not Die Untill Bitcoin will reach at Least 50K on: March 11, 2017, 07:17:11 AM
etf denied we looking btc under 1000$ for sure
How can it be? Please be more specific about your prediction.
A prediction without a support is not to be considered as serious, we as holders of bitcoin always make the actions with the right basis. Although the value of bitcoin now is falling but that will take time again to rise, let's be patient and wait for the price to be in our favor again and let those dumpers do their thing as it will not make a big impact on the market.

yep the only thing that we can do is waiting for the price and be patience since bitcoin price still up and down and we can see in the market, the price is really makes confusing to place a buy order or sell order. but for me, i think if i want to place the order, i will see the history in a weeks and how good is the trend and after that i can make decision.

Yes we have to patience and see how it goes for the first few days since the rejection. But I'm expecting a big dip in prices, however this is not the trend right now. Perhaps there are still people still holding and speculating that the price will still rise. But I have said before the decision that there will be no significant market price, yes it will dip a little but I will recover slowly and the price rising in a steady manner.

SEC rejects Winklevoss twins’ plan to trade Bitcoin as stock

A plan from the Winklevoss twins that would have allowed stock traders to buy and sell Bitcoin without setting up a personal Bitcoin wallet has been denied by the US Securities and Exchange Commission. In an order handed down on Friday, the commission declared that the unregulated nature of Bitcoin markets would have made the proposed fund too difficult to monitor, and therefore ripe for fraudulent activity.

Bitcoin Price Spikes Above $1,300 as ETF Decision Nears

Bitcoin prices saw a significant price spike this morning, briefly shooting above $1,300 to hit a new all-time high.

Markets peaked at an average of $1,325.81, according to the CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index (BPI), before falling sharply back below that level to hit a daily low of $1,178.54 – a change of roughly $133 within minutes. The price drop appears to have been seen most directly on digital currency exchange Bitfinex, reaching $1,120, BPI data shows.

At press time, the price is an average of $1,263.98, BPI data shows.

The price developments come as the US Securities and Exchange Commission nears a decision on a rule change that would clear the way for a proposed bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). That decision is expected today, though as of press time, the agency has yet to release any information regarding the ETF.

11492  Economy / Speculation / Re: ETF not passing can still be positive depending on the verdict on: March 10, 2017, 02:17:24 PM
While there is much money to be made (or lost) depending which way the SEC rules, the waiting is almost over. We already heard the pro's and con's of it, all of it. Let me just say that that SEC has already decided the fate o Bitcoin ETF already maybe a few weeks ago unstable price, the scalability issue etc. But I have a feeling that SEC will want to delay this again and will push back on this. Just my thought.  Cheesy

11493  Other / Politics & Society / Re: UN drugs board slams killings in Philippines on: March 10, 2017, 01:04:42 PM
Well the UN didn't mention that he freed the older prisoners from jail.

President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte has reportedly offering executive clemency to 127 inmates across the country.

Duterte, dubbed 'The Punisher', was warned by a Senator he will be held accountable for his alleged extrajudicial killings during the President's anti-drug campaign.

However, in the meantime Duterte took a trip to National 'Bilibid' Prison in Muntinlupa city, with reports claiming the President released 127 inmates across the country under the recommendation of the Department of Justice
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4289346/Punisher-releases-sick-elderly-prisoners.html

It's good to hear that he is offering executive clemency to old inmates. However, more old inmates still die in the prison, and they are not in the national penitentiary. Most of them die even before the judges makes a decision about their cases.

I wonder if those mobile trial court still exist today, and if it does, I guess it's not effective as there are so many prisons with pending cases, and prisons with influences and with big money ends up outside the prison because their victims are pushed to just end up with settlement.

If I remember accurately, the issue is that the judicial system is backlogged there are too many cases for too few judges and the problem is compounded with the drug war, which impacts police/legal the most. Also similar to the West if you can afford it you can delay it and get away from being charged.

In addition former governments corrupted the courts and that is leading to serious scrutiny
http://factsanddetails.com/southeast-asia/Philippines/sub5_6f/entry-3913.html#chapter-3.

"Judicial institutions in the Philippines are regarded as weak and corrupt and notoriously slow. Skilled lawyers can get their clients off of most charges by bogging down the system with a flood of documents, motions and counter motions and then files for dismissal because their client has been denied the right to a speedy trial. Philippine law calls for compassion for people over 70.

For poor people the justice system operates quite differently than it does for the wealthy and elite. They are most often represented by overworked public defenders who advise their clients to plead guilty to hasten the process and hopefully get off with a light sentence. In many places a system of patronage exists in which justice is defined as having enough money to buy yourself out of any fix."

It is why when people go to write the Bar it makes live news because they want to see more people pass and practice law fairly recall seeing it on CNN Philippines back then.

UN now slams them for the death penalty bill.

Meanwhile said Drug Dealer the opposition in the UN note has her court case set for April 21 that will be worth getting out the popcorn.
Corruption everywhere drug dealers, money, politics and prison if anything the Philippines has a nice set of drama similar to Korea and Former President Park.

(Thug Life)

I told you so. UN now slams the Philippines for passing the death penalty. But they can't do anything about it for now although their argument is that the Philippines should uphold the international human rights obligations of the country against the death penalty. He said that the problem was that past presidents do not have the political will to use it to strike fear on the hearts of criminals. I think with Death Penalty law also passed, He
sought for a return of the death penalty because that would be the only way to win justice for the victims of heinous crimes according to him.

Nice blog. But it looks like this is very young with no content yet, but I'm pretty sure that you are going to put good quality articles along the way. I don't know but the silk road and killer images doesn't load on my end? I'm pretty sure that you want to monetize this blog in the future so doing SEO to get traffic and target bitcoin keywords will do good for your blog. Also, create original content and always focus on creating good headlines to attract readers. Wecome to the blogosphere!!!

Hmmmm...  It doesn't look like Belfort is in TRTor mode, looking at his face during the media day face offs.  His jaw isn't quite square enough.  There are slight differences in Belfort's face when he's on and off TRT.  I could be wrong tho.

Do fighters take PEDs during training or do they take it days or even the night before the fight?  I guess I'll have to read up about it.

Fight Night Fortaleza: Media Day Faceoffs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zS18s28c1dA

Enjoy!  Wink

I thought Vitor is already fighting post-TRT?  Anyways, I'm been watching Kevin Gastelum since he upset Uriah Hall  at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale.
I love Vitor but I will go with Kevin here. I think he has a good chance of upsetting the "The Phenom".  Vitor is turning 40 and if fighting as natty?? and his window of opportunity is quickly closing in. I think Vitor will tire out in the second or third round. I'm predicting that Gastellum will take over if he see that Vitor is tiring and will try to go for a submission. Kevin by submission round by round 3-5.

11496  Economy / Economics / Re: Good picture to explain the ETF situation on: March 10, 2017, 08:01:04 AM
It is best to sell half of your bitcoin and hold half on situation like this. If ETF got approved we may see really hard pump but if got denied we can buy more with all those fiat we have after selling half of our bitcoin when price is 1200$+. I have some buy order at around $1000.  Grin

Exactly. Just hold of half of it and see how the market goes. Because if the SEC doesn't approved it. We will see the price plummeting at around $900 then that's the time to buy them, hold, till the prices slowly rise again "Buy Low, Sell High". However, if approved then we will see the price rising up to the moon. But whatever happens, I still believe that is it worth investing because the price is slowly rising and its been more stable as compare to the previous years. IMHO.

From First Filing to Final Decision: The Journey of the Winklevoss Bitcoin ETF – CoinDesk

t’s a looming decision that has sparked global headlines, turned the heads of financial analysts and kept the bitcoin world on the edge of its proverbial seat.

This refers, of course, to the bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) proposed by investors Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. That ETF – first proposed in mid-2013 and subject to a range of public comments and exchange switches – is effectively waiting in the wings for a decision by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, which is weighing a rule change proposal that would clear its passage.

While most in the digital currency space likely know the ins-and-outs of the ETF story, those not so familiar with it might not understand all the details. In this feature, CoinDesk explores the journey - from start to near-finish – of the proposed bitcoin ETF.

In the beginning

Before getting into the story of the bitcoin ETF’s early days, it might help to understand who Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss are exactly.

Both graduates from Harvard University, the two took part in the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the men’s rowing competition, where they advanced to the finals and ultimately scored sixth place, according to ESPN.

Another major event in their pre-bitcoin days was the now-infamous legal battle with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, documented in the 2010 film The Social Network. While at Harvard, the Winklevosses conceived a social network, ultimately dubbed ConnectU, for which they began working with Zuckerberg. Yet Zuckerberg soon opened the well-known Facebook platform, sparking the legal fight that resulted in a $65m settlement.

This Satoshi wannabe is a intellectual property land graber. And it looks like he is doing it for money because he knows  that succesful patents could be worth billions of dollars. We all know that Satoshi or who ever he is made bitcoin and blockchain with an idea that it is independent of any central authority. But if ever it would be patented, it will take away our monetary freedom from anyone. But I have to agree, I don't think he will be given a patent though, because he haven't proven that he is Satoshi.

11499  Other / Politics & Society / The real impact of the Vault 7 CIA data leak on: March 09, 2017, 01:54:40 PM
The leak of almost 9,000 documents detailing hacking and surveillance techniques used by the CIA is shocking, but not for the reasons many people think. Reading that your Smart TV or mobile phone could be monitoring what you say in your own house is alarming, but the real issue isn’t that the CIA spies on people. It’s not even that they do it through the devices in our homes.

The ease with which the code can be accessed and manipulated has created the real issue – that the source code, and the hacking tools used to access it is now available to anyone who wishes to use it. Criminals, hackers, terrorists, they all now have access to the hacking power wielded by the world’s most powerful intelligence agency.

11500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: March 09, 2017, 01:00:43 PM
Celtics beating Golden state Warriors at Warriors home again. Good defense from the Celtics and Warriors bench has been abysmal today. Combining to just 15 points and the game is almost done. Warriors down by 13 with just over a min to go. To me it seems to be over. If Warriors dont make any changes and add strength to it, it looks like they wont win the championship this season.
Warriors lost, that's alright, they need Durant to win games especially against an elite team in the NBA. I'm not surprised with the win and honestly I almost cashout now with my parlay if not because of the lost of Detroit Pistons. By the way, I have ML for (UTAH, DET, and BOSTON).

That was a great game indeed, Thomas is still the man and I like the way they play defense which resulted to a low scoring game.
Good defense wins matches and Boston showed that today. They hardly let Curry touch the ball in the 4th qtr and when he did, always had to make a contested shot. Not enough players in GSW team to draw defenders other than Curry and Thompson and they where well guarded at all times. Celtics close in on the Cavs and Spurs get closer to Warriors for the top spot.

It was Boston Celtics defense that really won them the game. They just made it tough on Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. Bradley and Smart made sure  that they had contested every shot and make to them take though shots every time. Although they still need to prove their surge at that end of the court is real. They will need to stay healthy in the playoffs. If you look at the fourth-quarter box score you will notice how their defenses affected the splash brothers. Curry has 0 points in 5 minutes 0-for 1 shooting, while Thompson in 8 minutes has 1 point and 0-for-3 shooting.
