We should be ready for both the loss and gain as not long ago in the beginning of 2016 we bitcoin going back to 300 - 400 USD most of the newbie started selling their btc and then within 6 months it up to 800 USD and now around 1100 approx so it's all part of game we must be ready for both and act accordingly and instead of listening to everyone we need to do our own research to predict about bitcoin's volatile market

The price is about $1200 now, that is about 3 times of last years price. I think it will rise further.

i think every one has their own choice but to me i think lost term investment is more good as compare to short term investment as long term investment we do not have fear of losing money if the price fell down a little. while in short term investment if you do not have any experience then you can lose more and more money in short term investment.
