I like your ambition and share in it, hopefully it will hit 50k+ soon so that some of us can realize our dreams. I always rue not entering bitcoin early but hoping to make the most if it now and going forward into the future.

Its not really to late to engage to bitcoin since as of now we are on still its early stages since bitcoin is just 8 years old and theres lot of thing would happen ahead of us but speaking on 50k i could say that it wont really happen in our lifetime because this price is really high to consider.

You are contradicting your own words. When we say, Bitcoin is only 8 years old, it means there is still much to go. By now Bitcoin is able to reform its image from darknet illegal currency to a high potential performing security. This reform is inducing more and more people to switch to Bitcoin. Imagine 1 billion of world population using Bitcoin, what will be the market cap and what will be the price!

When you look at the chart, by the end of February 2015 we were at about 250 dollars.
Right now we are scratching at the 1200 dollar level.
If that rise in percentage would increase the same way, we would hit the 50K dollars sooner than we all think.

If you look at the November 2013 price, that was over $1100. So things are not that simple.

It looks like the current condition of bitcoin was same with 2013, the bitcoin turn into the bubble and a lot of the people are trying to bet on the 11 march about the US securities approval for the bitcoin etf.
But do you think the bitcoin will go to the bottom same like what he did on 2013?

After going through the first page of the thread, it seems the people who started this crusade are either no longer interested or they are 'dead' to the crypto-world. But in the real sense, I dont see the price of bitcoin reaching $50,000 anytime soon simply because of the volatility as well as the influence of government that might come and curtail the growing influence. If there will be free hand for bitcoin, then I wouldnt disagree that it could happen in our life time but now, is a different story.

This is not a fact, this is no more than your assumption

And I just checked the data which effectively proves that your assumption is outright wrong. In short, I took the figures from this source, and it turns out that the market cap of 10 most popular altcoins by market cap (the rest is completely inconsequential) accounts only for around 15% of current Bitcoin market cap, namely 19.4B dollars versus 2.89B dollars (of which more than half is Ethereum market cap). Given that, I don't really think that we can claim that altcoins are sucking money from Bitcoin. Even if some altcoin increases its market cap by dozens of percentages (or even times), that increase will still remain negligible in terms of altcoin total share in the market cap of all cryptocurrencies (i.e. Bitcoin + all altcoins)

Those will just be for nothing if history repeats itself. Let us not make this false news or people might get scared and try to sell which could really hit the price and value of bitcoin. A big dump could happen even just for a simple gossip.

This is what you are telling is a very old story of users are getting scared of a single false news and start to dump, today users are more mature and have full details about the bitcoin and have full faith on it , so even if the approval is not given for ETF  we wont see a huge dump in price.

Bitcoin just made it easier for lay folks to start trading and feel themselves like Soros or Buffett. You don't need to visit a brokerage firm to open a trading account as well as have enough capital to enter trading at all. Almost any market has instruments that allow you to become a millionaire overnight and lose all even faster if things don't go your way (e.g. volatility indexes). The only difference is that Bitcoin market is easily available even for those with just a few dollars in their pockets

It is very easy to say that is not possible but have you make the calculation, bitcoin only needs to grow 1% every month during the next 30 years for that scenario to be possible, it will not be easy but it is far from being impossible.
