1161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: August 23, 2017, 07:19:18 AM
Hi guys and girls! After making quite a lot of money then losing it and crying about it half the afternoon I have decided to give up gambling for good.  Its not for me in have a much too addictive personality. So now I just plan to work for casinos but not gamble.

The thing is you know you should cash out but you always want just that little bit more and then u lose the whole lot. I'm stupid and greedy. Right after I lost i put more in and doubled it then I went all in and lost it. So yes u can make a killing gambling with such a small about like a few dollars but then u lose all u make and waste a lot of time and energy and end up getting upset. Also i shake like mad when I gamble and I hate that. I tremble. When I lose I can't believe what the screen is telling me.

So any thoughts ? Ways to stop ? Ways to gamble with play money ? Maybe there are dust gambling casinoes I can use? U know just for fun and for the fix. Smiley

Good job man, stoping your addiction in gambling is the greatest decision you could ever make in your life. I suggest you make a check list of stuff you have to do yearly, monthly, and daily. Keep your schedule busy as possible. Have a mindset that thinks about always being productive. Doing this can really help replace the thought of gambling. Also, insert in that check list a time of rests and make the rests a time for loved ones i.e., traveling, bonding, dinner, etc with them. Even your sleep. How many hours. Also the minutes on your naps.

Do not do anything related to gambling because it won't help. Get as far from it as possible.

Hope this helps. Goodluck pal, hope you overcome that gambling addiction of yours.
1162  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature Campaign for newbies? on: August 23, 2017, 06:53:18 AM
Is there any signature campaign for newbies like me? I hope there is one.  Sad

Other than why future, i haven't seen any. Probably because not a lot of people trust newbies. Because newbies including me, without a lot of knowledge about this forum tend to get too much excited in bitcoins let alone earning them. So they offen try to post and post even when it clearly is trash posting. To get higher ranks. I myself actually thought about it. Good thing i took the time reading more on the beginner's section. Now, think about it. Don't you think the numbers will double if a lot of campaigns accepted newbies?? The forum will be filled with junk posts if ever.

The ranks and the requirements to achieve them are essential to test everyone in this forum. Though i have heard a lot of guys farming accounts. At least they already know a good amount of things about bitcoins and this forum. Which then makes them very careful about every post they make. I know it is wrong. But we just can't do sht about it with the number of moderators this forum has for now. So we just have to accept it.

I suggest you to think about learning more first than earning. Start with that. Wink
1163  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: I want to buy your member level bitcointalk account! on: August 23, 2017, 05:56:46 AM
I want to buy your member level bitcointalk account!
I will never sent bitcoin/money first!
You can sent your login first or we will use an escrow!

Please sent me a pm if you want to sell!

You know what pal, this is freaking ridiculous. Fcking do some work yourself. They put those ranks and those requirements time periods within them to test if you are worthy being in this forum. It is a test of personality and your willingness to follow with rules. It also tests if you are greedy or greedy enough to break some rules, spam, and abuse this forum and the sig campaigns just for the sake of earning. Because there are only two outcomes for the test. if you are not at least a bit qualified, you'll probably get banned. And if you are you'll continue to get higher rank, learn more and be actually worthy of what you earn.

But hey, I don't know you, im just commenting on what i see because of this post.
1164  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Prices incline below $4000 to Hit 7-day low on: August 22, 2017, 02:45:28 PM
The bitcoin price is back below $4000. According to a period of high records, declination on average prices across global exchanges at the start trading on August 22. It was already dipped more than $150 from the day’s open. At the time of writing article, bitcoin was trading at $3861.87 as it was its lowest price since April 15.

April 15?? You must mean august 15? Well, if you are referring to the date august 15, then this is not something that should be afraid of. I mean, it's not even shocking. Because thi happens a lot to bitcoin and it is nothing new. This is just a small price correction. And if you have checked, you would see that bitcoin has already shown its resiliency to this kind of problem m. And that i can absolutely recover and even become higher than it's last recorded peak price.
Also, this is not a bad thing. Instead, it is the opposite because this gives chance to investors to invest more on btc woth a lower price.
1165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason that keeps me from investing in bitcoin on: August 22, 2017, 02:28:41 PM
Hello everybody.

I would like to invest some money in bitcoin, I don't use that money and I don't need it for the next 2/3 years.
I thought I found in bitcoin the perfect way to invest. BUT when I see the fees applied I don't see how the bitcoin will become mainstream! The fees are around 1mBTC which is approximatively 3$. Therefore what is the point of bitcoin?

The only thing I see : big amount transaction

But bitcoin won't be the money you use to buy your sandwich with those fees!

I saw a post saying: yeah burger king is willing to accept bitcoin in russia. Hopefully mcdonald will follow ! But why would someone pay 3$ fee therefore a third of his burger king menu in fee?

Will segwit may lower the fees?

Thank you Smiley

I also have the same curiosity. The fees have gotten pretty high if you ask me, and it really has been confusing me for a long time now, because wasn't it made to be different from fiat?? I know $3 fees are pretty small from all the benefits you get in changing your money into bitcoins but it just really makes me wonder. And really kind of scary because what if this is a start of it becoming more like fiat?? I may be too paranoid but i just can't help but worry.
1166  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is God male or female? on: August 22, 2017, 02:18:35 PM
Which sex is God?

Does He have a penis or a vagina?

If He has either...and there is only one God...why would he need reproductive organs?

I think it really doesn't matter. Because if GID is really what they say GOD is, then he does not have the need for a gender because GOD is supposed to be beyond us. Because if GOD has a gender, then that would contradict GOD as being a GOD which then makes HIM not worthy of faith and belief by anyone because HE can be labled as HE.
1167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why I suddenly decided to leave gambling alone. on: August 22, 2017, 10:25:07 AM
I've had good moments and bad moments in my life, but the worst moments is when I spent the entire day gambling and focusing only to winning money for this or that.
I'm tired, seriously, to win big and then fall in more deep "debt" because of greediness. I can't afford to have such experiences anymore, it makes me sad the fact that instead of saving those money I preferred to spend them on a gambling site, I was like oh ok it's just x, so If i can lose it it's ok, oh it's just a faucet, it's ok if I lose it. But when If even with the faucet I reach like 0.06 or more, and then I lose them it's still a touch to the heart, that makes you say if I start back with this amount I can magically make it 0.6, yes probably, cause I did that in the past, as my far record is been from 0.001 to 1.6 btc in 3 hours with roulette, but let's not dig that.

I prefer spending the money on what are my necessities now, than see my wallet drop in amount. Every single f*** time, every time I had the chance to buy btc, or doge whatever, I ended up expecting to win big.
EVEN if I win big, I repeat that, I waste the money afterward, because I think it's a good idea to bet bigger now if my budget supports it, and there it goes down the hole.

Why I decided to leave gambling anyway? I saw how rapidly I was going down in the past few days, and like an hot potato to keep sinking my butt on the wallet. I'm tired of that. I better move my butt and find something that used to keep me busy, like programming, I love programming. But then I got stressed and I started to gamble.

I hope you all understand. All my friends I made in these years on the gambling sites, thank you everyone for your support of my strong decision.
Thanks everyone.

I am amazed that you have finally come to your senses and are now trying to make a better of yourself. I admire your courage. And I congratulate you for taking the very first steps in stoping your addiction to gambilng. I know you will experience the urge to gamble when you are bored or stressed and have nothing to do. But i hope you will overcome it. Just try to keep yourself busy and give time to your family and friends. Go out a lottle. So you can go on and stop gambling for good.
1168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as the currency of the future? on: August 22, 2017, 10:07:04 AM
I see that the more bitcoin the more users seen from the significantly increased bitcoin price increase, is this a sign that bitcoin will soon become the future virtual currency?

When we talk about the price of bitcoins and how it rises and drops, we can never really say that the only reason is the number of people who own bitcoins. Because there really are a lot of things that might be the reason. Specially those whales that pump and dump. At the same time.
Now, will it be the future virtual currency? Well it really depends on bitcoin itself. Because if it continues to improve itself and becomes even easier to use in the future than today, I don't see any reason why not(except the government though). But teally,  ot is still a bit impossible for that to hapoen anytime soon.

1171  Other / Meta / Re: Note to admins, BCC is an alt, why threads about it are in the main forum? on: August 19, 2017, 03:31:41 PM
I strongly agree woth op, bcc topic should only remain in the altcoin section. Because It is an alternative coin. And it is kind of annoying seeing it almost everywhere. There was also an instance where two posts/threads had the same questions and the interval was just two hours. I think it was yesterday.  And it is covering up more important posts.

But i think theymos will do some action later on, maybe he's just letting it slide for now because of the recent split, besides, it has a connection with bitcoin since it is the result of the split. I just hope that after this gets cold, it won't stay on the mainland anymore and stay on the altcoin section.
1172  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Falling...Is it Panic Time? on: August 19, 2017, 02:30:25 PM
According to my friend preev.com, as of press time, the value of Bitcoin is standing at $2,351. Though I would say that this still considered as a feat, some are worried because it almost reached $2,800 again after the correction that happened days ago.

I have read that the decline can partly be contributed to newcomers especially neophyte traders who still have to be well-versed on the market...and can easily be ignited to do panic selling once they can fell that anything can be wrong.

Against this backdrop...are you holding on to your Bitcoin or transferring it into another digital currency?

To be honest, i really don't see this things as a threat or something scary enough to make me stop using bitcoins. Because damn! These things has already happened to bitcoin so many times already that i have lost count. Since when did bitcoin ran out of people who always panic and sell what they have?? So with that being said, I am still staying with bitcoin. And probably try to get more and sold portions of it only when i need it so much. But never all that i have.
1173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Profitability vs. real value on: August 19, 2017, 02:12:45 PM
I just don't get it... why are people bying crypto JUST for the profitabily of it and not the promise to make products/services/prices and the distribution of wealth more equal? If you want to make a profit, take your fiat and go to wallstreet and fuck up their world. People coming into crypto just looking for profit are harming the community and the trust in crypto currencies. They are investing in ICO's promising profit and nothing else and encourigng new projects to focus on the profitabily of their coin rather than actually adding value. This tech makes it possible to change the way the world works and what are you doing? Trying to make a profit and not caring about how it affects projects that are really trying to reshape the world. This is getting scammers money and legit projects are dying because it won't give you a 10000% return on investment.

After sending this post I'll be out again looking for promising altcoins to invest in so i can get a lot of profit. Lol.

But really, i get you, this also saddens me. But tge thing is, there is nothing we can do. This is human nature. And changing it would be so damn hard and nearly impossible. Plus, people who are after profit have different reasons. Be it having a home, a car, to help a friend, save a family from illness etc. there is no end in the list. And that is another thing that fuels greed for profit. Because we all need something in life. And those free things are just not enlugh sometimes. Even love itself. I am speaking truth here.

I dont say it is good, but tolerable, depending on the circumstances. We can never judge anyone because we don't know what they are going theough or what their problems really are.

I suggest you just focus on things you can control rather than be upset about something you can do nothing about.

Hope this clears things up for you. Cheers.
1174  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: SMS messages with Bitcoin on: August 19, 2017, 01:51:30 PM
I found some project that was up long ago, and it allowed you to send SMS messages to someone paying with Bitcoin. Project is now closed, but look like a fun idea. Would you guys be interested in such a service ? It wouldn't take me long to make this and code would be publicly available on GitHub. Let me know your opinions on this idea.

I don't want to rain on your parade but to be honest op, i really don't see that much potential in a project like that. Maybe that is also the reason why that project you foundlong ago has closed down. Because not a lot of people liked the idea. Because people nowadays use free messaging apps now more often than sending sms. Which means they do not need offline messaging anymore. And that really makes the idea useless anymore..
1175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 1 BCH = 1 BTC before end of august? on: August 19, 2017, 01:43:15 PM
Thoughts?

Mu thought, hmm.. i think it is still too early to make such a claim that BCH can really reach bitcoin's value. I mean, think about it op, don't you find the sudden increase of price in BCH rather suspicious?? I mean, i think and i see this sudden price increase as just an effort of a group of people to pump BCH and get as mich attention as they can. But maybe when the platform of BCH improves in the next few months, I'll have more interest on it. That's probably what a lot of people taday also think.
1176  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I quit trading on: August 18, 2017, 08:48:04 PM
So guys, after 2 years of trading i am going to stop. (unless i have full time to trade, which i currently don't)

I have calculated all my trades on the various platforms i have used in the last couple years.

Deposited: 47BTC (roughly)

Withdrew: 40BTC (roughly)

Overall i am happy with the results, i would pay 7 BTC anyday for what i have learned so far.

Now the question is: what the fuck do i do now with my money.

You should travel with your friends, or a loved one. Reward yourself from your hard work. Buy stuff you need, donate to homeless people, save some for tommorow(i mean keep some amount on cold storage and wait and see if it brings you luck few years from now). Eat foods you've never tasted before. Or buy a drone to peak on your neighbor's houses at night. Really., there are so many things you can do.
Congrats and hope you make good decisions in the future.

Cheers.

Im sticking with bitcoins. This happened a lot in the past before. Even though the prices are not the same, the events are almost identical. And i will mever let go of bitcoins just because some weak hearted dumbfcks decide to sell their bitcoins out of fear. Bitcoin will eventually correct itself day by day in time as people learn more and more about it and get enough people who really do know sht about what they are doing and can properly advice people who are clueless. So I'll still be holding bitcoins.
1178  Economy / Speculation / Re: How MUCH will the FINAL BTC be WORTH? on: August 18, 2017, 08:09:01 PM
Asked before I'm sure.

What ya think?

You know what op, we all would probably be dead by the time the last bitcoin gets mined(judging by the lifestyle and environment we have today). Because that would probably happen more than a hundred years from now. But to answer your question, the way i see bitcoin, is that no one in the world today can really say for sure the exact potential peak price of bitcoin. Because the things the influnce the price of bitcoins keep on changing, and a lot of other alternative coins are popping out everywhere and it's only a matter of time till some evolutionary altcoin can surpass bitcoin. Its not sure but it is not impossible. That is what i think.
1179  Other / Off-topic / Re: A lil Friday Riddle on: August 18, 2017, 07:57:34 PM
You are a prisoner in a room with two guards. Before you are two doors. One leads to death, one leads to freedom. One guard always answers true, the other guard always lies. You get ONE question to ONE guard ONLY to determine which is the safe door. What question do you ask?

I'll ask one guard if he is strong enough to open one of the doors. Basic. Hahahahaha

If not why are you still active here

Yeah, i do have some. But is pretty small for everyone here. Might even be worthless for some i bet., but anyways, total of what i have is about 5000 satoshis. Sucks to be me right?yeah i know. :/

But i am still here. And that is because i have a dream. I have a dream to become someone who can find a way to earn enough money to continue going to college and get a degree. A dream to prove to everyone looking down on me that I can really be someone that is capable of reaching my dreams even when I am just like this for now.

And i will continue to dream and to persevere. No matter how hard. I know someday ill make my dreams come true.
