441  Economy / Economics / Re: Africa needs to fix continent, richest people are politicians on: May 06, 2021, 12:49:11 PM
Forget Dangote and the rest of the billionaires, the richest people in Africa are politicians. Africans need to reevaluate and rethink their system, so much power is given to the politicians and without any checks or balances. How can an ex-governor not be tried in court for his mischievous activities because there is a written document that said so who signed the documents is it the populace? They loot millions of dollars and stack them up for their families whereas the masses are suffering.
They even go as far as banning the trading of cryptocurrencies because they feel people might benefit from it. When the world is enjoying it. African needs to be taken to the hospital and given proper treatment because they are moving backward. More strength to their youth as many are still thriving in the harsh environment.

I can quite agree with you. The system in Africa indeed has to change for it clearly is not working. Too bad though, we cannot do anything unless we are the ones to vote there. And even if we are, how much can we amount to when the people there themselves do not even vite for the country but for themselves. For their selfish biefs. People in Africa needs to set aside their own religious crap along with their other biases and vote wisely for the whole country. Change can only start if they stop complaining and actually start doing it within themselves.
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My feelings after 11 years with crypto. on: May 06, 2021, 11:09:07 AM
Dude, I understand your frustrations but I think you actually lost sight of what is truly important, which is family. No amount of $$ or Bitcoin or whatever can come close to the value of a wife, a mother to your children. You lost money and crypto, so what? You haven't lost your hands and limbs, your mind and body are still very much capable. Hussle more. What's important is that your children still has their mother and you still have a wife that will support you in your journey. Please do not take for granted the fact that you still have a complete family because some would guve everything just to have what you have. I hope this words wake you up and lift your spirit. Don't stress so much about something you have no power to change. Instead, focus on today and what's to come because you do not only carry yourself alone, you also carry your family in the success and misfortunes. Be strong for them.
443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin scammers have a hard time with grammar on: May 01, 2021, 04:44:45 PM
Spelled 4rd instead of 4th  Grin Grin Grin

Scammers were top-notch once, what happened?

Obviously, these type of scammers are low class ones. They do not proof check their work enough nor do they have the ability to do so. But despite this, they still manage to scam newbies and even careless veterans sometimes since some are really good with other things but bad with english grammar. I suggest that you and the others to not underestimate people who are bad at english grammar. English grammar is a language that should be used as a bridge to connect people of different ethnicities and not to just measure the intelligence level of a person. Doing this not only makes you an awful person but also makes you let your guard down and prone to scams or other ways of being hacked. Beware.
444  Economy / Economics / Re: “You don’t spend money now, you can’t spend after you died” on: May 01, 2021, 04:14:25 PM
This has got to be the most idiotic advice that I have ever seen in my entire stay in this forum. I wonder how high you are to actually be able to come up with such an advice. Of course, having fun is important in a life full of work and stress but not to the point where you spend all you have as if you are about to die tomorrow. What happens to you or the people who rely on you(if there are any) if you spend like crazy just because of that reasoning? Common sense must be scarce nowadays.
445  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Which Covid 19 Vaccine is is the best ? on: May 01, 2021, 03:53:15 PM
None of the above. I would choose Pfizer BioNTech all the way since I have seen a lot of great responses about this vaccine. That is though if I were to have the luxury to choose what vaccine I want to be injected in me. But if it is not available, then I'd gladly take whatever is on the table since I am not doing it for myself alone but for my family, friends and loved ones. Not getting vaccinated will only result in having more cases so better not be picky if the vaccines available are capable and reputable enough.
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware; Do not Fall for Phishing Sites, Do Not Be a Victim of Scams on: May 01, 2021, 03:37:32 PM
Most adds on Facebook really don't hold that much credibility in ky eyes anymore. I even experienced phishing back then because of such useless ads that cost me more than $2k it's just so sad and sickening at the same time thinking about how people can bear to do this to other who work hard for what they have. Don't they stop and think that what if they stole from a person that needs the moneyin paying for chemo therapy, Dialysis or other important things? They are basically killing people. Murderers and thieves. Shame on these people.
447  Other / Politics & Society / Re: When will the vaccination end? on: April 30, 2021, 05:43:20 PM
Op, I think you will have to read and use your common sense more. Obviously, the main goal is to get everyone vaccinated as soon as possible. But the problem with this is that we do not have enough resources to do everything as fast as lightning. Which is why countries who have the capabilities to create vaccines try their best to soeed things up in vaccinating their citizens first so they can proceed on a wide scale vaccine distribution all throughout needing countries. Some even send out vaccines already despite not being able to fully vaccinate all the citizens in their country yet. So let us not add up to the problems more by spreading negativity. Instead, let us spread positivity and encouragement to everyone to make things lighter specially for the people who are infected and are suffering from covid-19.
448  Economy / Economics / Re: How a digital EURO may look like on: April 30, 2021, 05:10:50 PM
The difficulty level of attaining this is quite huge and I personally do not think that any government would allow let alone create something like this had there been no back plans in ridding people off of privacy that they very much want. This is probably just a tactic in making something similar to cryptocurrencies to fool people into switching so that the government along with the banks can gain or have even more control over funds of every citizen.
449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Bank to Offer Cryptocurrency Services Pending Compliance Approval on: April 30, 2021, 04:47:11 PM
I don't have a full grasp of how crypto works yet, but isn't the idea of integrating blockchain technology into the financial system to move away from banks?
Basically. There's no such thing as "Bitcoin friendly banks". Well, at least there shouldn't be. Of course, there's many great reasons why you would use Bitcoin over traditional fiat currencies, but one of the main selling points is; You are your own bank, and therefore you truly own your money.

Of course, the adoption of cryptocurrencies in banks would only be welcome news to those that aren't truly sold on the idea of cryptocurrencies, and see it as a investment opportunity instead of a currency. So, I'm not going to pretend this isn't a good thing for Bitcoin, or future adoption from banks isn't. However, you are quite right that at least for me, and many others one of the reasons of using Bitcoin is to get away from banks. This is likely the reason Satoshi created it in the first place, if you consider the genesis block message.

Whether we like it or not, bitcoin won't amount to anything unless you can exchange it to real money or anythig else of value. But the easiest, if fiat, and where can we get fiat to make bug transactions like houses or whatever if banks never allow any connection towards crypto currencies? Well I guess if people would start accepting bitcoin as a primary mode of payment, then we can survive without banks. But I don't think that'll ever happen since too many people are still unwilling to use or believe in bitcoin. and even if it does happen, it won't make sense for banks and governments to just sit idly by and do nothing about it.

Which is why I think, despite the real purpose of this coin and it's creator for making it, we have to compromise one way or another in irder for Bitcoin to survive. That's just how it is.
450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many scammers have you funded by putting your money in? on: April 29, 2021, 04:56:49 PM
Omg. I have been fooled so many times that it is quite embarrassing to talk about it. I have been in this industry for soooooo long and have seen good projects that are obviously better than the ones I invested in. Its just that my dumb eyes back then were easily fooled by baseless and too good time be true promises. Good thing though is I only invest amounts that are of not that much use to me so I can easily move on from the pain. But still though, I could've been sitting on hundreds of thousands of dollars had I invested in the right ones instead back then. I even invested on doge due to my stupidity back then but sold when I realised it was a joke of a coin but now I feel even more dumb than ever watching how much dogecoin went up in price recently. This industry is making me nuts!
451  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What does the indian government do about the coronavirus in india right now? on: April 29, 2021, 04:18:17 PM
^^^ You're welcome. There were too many contradictions in statistics here and there. And why would social media like Youtube, Facebook, many others, and even Google want to direct people away from the info like they have been doing? Just to show them only one side of the story? Why not all of it so that people decide to look at what's really happening.

But now it's getting to the point where reality is setting in, and social media can't do anything about it. Harvard School of Medicine did a study that showed that less than 1% of the people who have adverse effects from the vaccine, are included in VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System).

I suspect that VAERS is over 3,000 deaths listed from Covid vaccines... plus loads of side effects in the multiple thousands. If the Harvard study is right, that means over 300,000 deaths from Covid in the States alone. Look at what Stanley Plotkin has to say:

VAERS, Adverse Reactions from Vaccines, Fewer than 1% of adverse reactions are reported

Cool

I agree with this. This has been happening for a long time now and even more so when times like this come which right now is the time of pandemic. The people on top can really maneuver what they want people to know and whatnot. Even small people but with authority van do so also. Another proof of this is when hospitals report deaths of people s covid even when they died of natural causes or even accidents so they can take advantage of the government funding. And even on the news this has been rarely talked about since these very people may have been controlling the media. Or maybe even some of the government officials are in in this also to get their share of the cake. I really am disgusted with how things are going on in the world right now specially here in my country. To many I's instead of we's.

On another note though, I think that the government in india really has such poor response to this pandemic and is taking it for granted which us why things came to this. And in some hearsays, although may not be worthy of giving a thout about, they say that the government in india still isn't doing anything to resolve the situation. Others also say that they are doing these to reduce the overly populated country. Right now I really don't know what to believe anymore. I just feel so sad for the children and the elderly that are trapoed in this situation because of the lack of action by the leaders who should he the ones protecting their people. Public interest above anything that is how it should be and not the other way around :/
452  Economy / Economics / Re: Are some too blind to see? on: April 29, 2021, 03:43:10 PM
Believe me, a lot are bothered but never bothered to say things as you since they know well enough it'll make them look dumb. This is the cryptocurrency industry, whatever you do with your coins or profits, no one can stop you. The guy clearly wanted to take profits to make sure and so he did. There is a reason why he became as successful as he is now. And so instead of whining, I believe people should learn more about this experience and be mindful of things so they can ride the tides better alongside whales and not drown.
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has the world become greedier since BTC? on: April 29, 2021, 03:27:32 PM
Sorry to say this but I really think that that kind of thinking is too simple and very childish. With common sense any person in their right mind can be able to understand that greed has nothing to do with anything but the person itself who is greedy. Anything that is placed on the hands of the greedy will surely be taken advantage of and used for greed. But if given to a person that is free from greed, then the same thing can be used differently be it bitcoins, altcoins or fiat. I hope that is easy enough for you to understand.
454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC still wants XRP so badly on: April 24, 2021, 09:23:41 PM
Quite a predicament both sides are facing. XRP may dip again because of this news. The SEC clearly is pushing itself to its limit, I can see them fighting to the end of this even if they lose, their EGOs just won't let them back down. All in all, this may still take a while before reaching a conclusion so we may see more volatility with xrp for the whole duration of this case. This serves as a lesson: - do not offend the SEC. Too much of a headache if you do.
455  Economy / Economics / Re: EFFECTIVE INVESTING STRATEGIES on: April 24, 2021, 08:42:12 PM
In most investments outside of this industry, the stated strategies are vital and should be followed by any investor. But if we talk about this industry, those strategies are not enough specially if you are a day trader. Also, this may even mislead anyone due to overthinking if the investor is looking for a long-term gain since graph analysis on other industries are of no use here. For me, what matters in this industry is patience and a strong heart to let fuds and dips pass without selling. This has been proven countless times already which is why I live by it.
456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: London High Court: Craig Wright to sue Bitcoin.org operator-publisher on: April 24, 2021, 08:23:25 PM
Good read, merited.

Now about this ridiculous guy, Craig Wright. I believe this guy just wants to gain as much attention as he can. Going through all this bullcrap just to prove a point that isn't even needed by anyone in this industry. One just can't imagine what goes on inside the heads of people like this guy. He is clearly making a fool out of himself. He may already be seen by the majority as a laughingstock. I wouldn't even be surprised if the court never takes his case seriously. Man what a guy. Sigh*
457  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What does the indian government do about the coronavirus in india right now? on: April 24, 2021, 07:43:21 PM
Simply do a search on "India and Covid" for all kinds of answers.

WORLDOMETER says at https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/india/ ...
Quote
Coronavirus Cases: 16,555,849

Deaths: 188,984

Recovered: 13,829,225

Note that the number of deaths is only 1.1414939% of the number of cases. This means that most of the people who are cases are getting better somehow, but at least are holding their own.

The formal number of recovered is 83.530751% of the number of cases. This sounds like the number of sick people is approximately 2,537,640, or 15.3277552% of the number of cases.

With the current population of India being around 1,390,938,435, this means that the percent of Covid deaths with regard to the population is something like .0135868%.

Personally, I think that the number of cases is way exaggerated, and that the number of Covid deaths may be exaggerated because of comorbidities involved.

Anyway, there is a start. Remember that WORLDOMETER is attempting to capture live figures. So, if you go there, their figures will probably be different than those I listed.

Cool

Wow. I never thought that looking at the actual numbers can change the way I see the situation in India by this much. But regardless though, I still feel bad for the people there. Good thing someone decided to really do something about this and help his countrymen. Anyway man, thanks for the link. Was a good read and helped me see India's situation a bit better than just hearing it from the news.
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you trust centralized exchanges? on: April 23, 2021, 04:37:28 PM
I feel the same. Although it may sound stupid not trusting something legit and governed by law, I cannot help but feel more distrust specially now when this industry is getting more and more known widely all throughout the world. My reason is because these type of exchanges are prone to manipulation or abuse by the government or banks. What if they suddenly decide to ban crypto all of a sudden? I then pity those who have their names confirmed to he connected to crypto. They will aurely have problems. Even if it's just huge taxing for crypto currency gains, it still isn't that good of a position for anyone.
459  Economy / Economics / Re: Government policies help to grow the price of bitcoin on: April 23, 2021, 04:06:00 PM
Indeed it does. But that still depends widely on which country you currently are located. Because even if the price of bitcoin is global, not all countries have the same culture. Hence, all have different backgrounds, perspectives and ways of reacting to various things. And if it so happened that most of these people had closed minds, then bitcoin wouldn't have been the way it is today.
460  Other / Politics & Society / What does the indian government do about the coronavirus in india right now? on: April 23, 2021, 03:30:06 PM
As the title says, I am quite curious because just recently I have heard from the news that the coronavirus surge in India went from bad to worse. To the point where dead bodies have to be cremated at parking lots. How true is this? Can other countries do something about this? I feel so sad for the families there specially for the elderly and the children. I just wish the government finds a way to help their own people who are suffering right now if they cannot rely on other countries.

Update: I just saw a tweet from @sandeepnailwal saying:

"Can't take this sitting down anymore, I am going to run a Covid relief campaign in lieu of what’s going on in India.

Need help from the Global crypto community.

I will take full responsibility for transparency, funds usage and regulatory compliance

If you want to donate.. 1/n"

https://twitter.com/sandeepnailwal/status/1385968552679727113?s=19

I am really hoping for the best and that there would be not much hindrances with this plan so that people in India can really get some help. Kudos to this guy for actually doing something for his fellow country men.
