1181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tornado Cash Develoepr got arrested, why Monero, Beam or Secret founder are free on: September 20, 2022, 03:29:54 AM
Why would the privacy factor matter in this case? There are thousands of coins which are listed and invested for the sake of privacy and that is what crypto is all about. Duh! Are we forgetting that bitcoin is parent of every stuff out there with it's pseudonymous nature? Owner's responsibility is to work within the given jurisdiction and keep up with the privacy at the same time through blockchain and its work nature. If there is any scam being done through such activities like money laundering, mixing of the coins which were illegal in the first place, hiding huge sum of money over blockchain to avoid the taxes, then could be in trouble for that. The dev surely did some spurious stuff to get to that level.
1182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Article: Bitcoin - a Payment Simulator Taken Seriously on: September 19, 2022, 09:13:53 AM
I agree fully with what davis196 said. Most of them forget to consider the fact that bitcoin does not work just like that where you send money from one side and receives from another side. It’s literally process of creating something by using real energy (electricity), real machineries work it, computations happening for real and much more stuff to give it real world presence.

If we take into account OP calculations then there is no point to the traditional bank system! After all it’s just printed piece of paper with some famous personalities printed on them.  Roll Eyes
1183  Economy / Economics / Re: Irish Government Pays Artists & Musicians $330 ‘Basic Income’ Allowance on: September 16, 2022, 04:51:49 PM
What an encouraging news for the Irish  artists. I am so glad that Irish Government is thinking about the Arts and Music industry with such deep thought. This will definitely motivate all the artist in the country and anyone willing to work in that country as an artist. In the modern world it's value is always deprecating because it's too much concentrated field. Artists require huge platform, hard work and their entire work depends on the popularity. Many times that forms the basis of their income. For example, someone investing in art gallery to display their art, filling up exhibitions etc. This could take both money and their ultimate times. It's possible they may never succeed even with perfect art.

Many of the artist face challenges to earn decent money in that way. Now I am not sure what was Irish Government's first take on this, but this will really help the artist and musician to survive average+ life.  Smiley
1184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So the ETH merge has finally happened on: September 15, 2022, 04:08:23 PM
I think there many things that are happening in the background. Like miners might be holding on their ETH to check whether the prices are going up or down! They might be waiting for the soft point to sell off. May be this will be triggering point for the heavy dump of the ETH. That could be one of the reason for slow selling of ETH and in addition to this we have not considered investors to miners ratio and I presume investors are more in number than miners thus it gives more odds of “hodling” eth rather than selling it. This could be balancing out the whole scenario.
1185  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's next for cryptocurrency? on: September 15, 2022, 01:17:42 PM
First I thought this post was about the next gen crypto currency usage, such as inter galactic usage of crypto and stuff like that. However it turned out to be just normal how much worth it is and whats the next trend bear or bull. Well, this is question asked everyday, I believe that to answer this one needs to analyze their own statistic of the portfolio. For example, X might have bought their portfolio when it was at its highest rate while on the other hand its possible Y might have bought it at it's lowest. It's thinkable that both of them are not on the same page at the current price/trend. So it does not really matter where crypto is going to be, all it matter where do you really stand in all this?
1186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Opened another business were I accept Bitcoin on: September 15, 2022, 12:54:46 PM
Good to see you taking an opportunity out of the new business ideas such as POS. Same thing is increasing at alarming rates in my region however it's not because of the congestion at "ATM" but thats all about the plastic card trend that is ever growing day by day. Everyone carries cards and its way easier to pay now with contactless cards with tap and pay feature.

While you wait for the transactions, you should always keep in mind that 30 min window before you can get at least 1 confirmation done. You can always ask them to increase the fees if they are in hurry and willing to pay couple of bucks extra for faster transactions.

However, I have observed that, though there are no confirmations yet you can see the "incoming" transaction in your wallet which can expedite your payment processing. However, always look for safer window rather than being stressed out. & congratulations for your business.

Meanwhile I used up all 7 WoFs from daily premium allocation and this took my % down 0.0363 per spin -- so it's the same as from email.

So, it seems the best is to do nothing. No freerolls, no premium WOFs, no email WOFs... All is against you  Cheesy

Hard to calculate if it's worthwhile since WoF COULD give you much more than 50 sats... but also tends to give you a lot of lottery tickets. I consider RP same value, just unrealized.

Exactly. 66% chance (if you have hope to convert RPs back to sats one day). The ratio is so 'flat', that in my opinion we may clearly assume one may win only the base reward. Anything more than '50 something' reward, is a lucky roll.

BTW: is there any chance to solve the issue with warning in Opera. It does not look good when you want to introduce site to some (potentially) new users.

You can always let them know about the site by sharing the actual referral link and let them open it on their desired device + browser. I am not sure how you guys work up with referrals but I have created QR code for my link and usually show it directly to the new person whom I meet in person and want to refer. Anyways that number is also falling behind since I have whole circle by now and also few of them were already on the site before me. :-p

About the 66% chance, well I think we win 66% and loose the remaining over lottery ticket. Every user must be wishing that they should be able to convert the lottery ticket to the sats, but obviously as per business point of view that is not a viable option.
1188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Well! Bitcoin doesn't have this problem on: September 14, 2022, 05:45:27 PM
Definitely it seems way fishy! May be she earned or saved some bitcoins but she did not know how to convert them or convert them without any further taxation and stuff like that. What if the transaction was associated with some spurious trade and bank got to know information about it and thats why they were trying to block the further trade and cease the money. The news is really short and there are number of possible reasons for her extrovert behavior like this.

We have seen banks not giving away money at the time of emergencies, currency alterations, discontinuation of the press notes and much more valid and documented reasons but this one is really new.
1189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing for a real Assets on: September 12, 2022, 06:16:31 PM
Whether it reflects the true asset nature or not is entirely different thing however it does proven one point: it grows over the time and it grows mega fold as compared to any other assets or stocks available out there. Comparing in terms of timeline and higher income growth bitcoin has proven perfect asset to have in your pockets and grow with it. So I think yes, we can completely rely on bitcoin. If it had no valuation or if it’s popularity seem to be decreasing then it could have been done already. But as we can see it’s on the right track. Just grab and keep up the growth.

Past week's weird for me, I don't get ads or captcha for maybe 2 years or more now, and that used to include WoF until this half week, now I have to do captcha (2 rows) and it's all about longhair cats lol

Not complaining, just I had to look up what long hair cats were. I guess they meant long FUR.

Sorry for almost random Wink

Isn’t that’s really weird that now we have to keep doing the captcha all the time and that too with unwanted image references. I think these companies should come up with different ideas to confirm whether we are humans or not. I don’t know, I think old school was still best riddle (1+1=2) and when we had to understand the words. The current captcha system is overrated and it’s many times makes it complicated for small pass way.

2 more days to Italian F1 GP. Are we going to give a chance to Ferrari team?

Well according to former racing driver Nico Rosberg who is a GermanFinnish based, predicts Ferrari is still leading the racing zone in the current event and all bets are on it. Considering his down votes to Mercedes, his all into Ferrari. Who knows might pan out best race ever.
1191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Africa Delivers the most Bitcoin-friendly Innovation on: September 05, 2022, 03:25:53 AM
Hard times always call for greater ideas and change in oneself. That’s what brought us to the current level of civilisation.

African countries are nothing but the same sort of example and it’s already on the course of bigger adoptions. With their continent’s poor economics (or income) it’s getting harder day by day to up lift national unemployment or development.

This is why Bitcoin is always hot topic in the bitcoin. It’s lovely to see someone is working hard for this. Hope they get to the next level soon.
1192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does quantum computing affects Bitcoin? on: September 04, 2022, 01:59:25 PM
Yeah the Quantum computing methodology to breaking the code of blockchain has been really Topic of interest. Really had endless discussion on it as stated by @lucius. I am more concerned about the question why would they wanna waste heavy energy on superconductors and quantum chips rather than just building more advanced version of ASICS , mine the coins and be happy about it. Lolz.

Using Quantum computers to break the encryption is like intentionally creating nuclear bomb even though scientists knew it would bring more disaster rather than Nobel use case.

At least that’s what history lessons tells me.

Better create Quantum version which is more revealing rather than evils.

1194  Economy / Economics / Re: Do cash control spending more than digital or crypto currency? on: September 01, 2022, 05:31:48 AM
Surprising. I thought cash is more uncontrolled way of managing your assets. For example, having cash in your hands you can easily overspend when you go for shopping and quickly do this over digital. In case of digital transactions you have to go though the bank process, use your cards and you can always keep track record of balance through mobile banking and control yourself. Like in case of cash this is drawback, you won’t keep counting all the time isn’t it?
1195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lost 10 BTC in between Feb and May on: August 31, 2022, 03:02:39 AM
Not sure what’s the meaning of this but all I can sense is he lost it all to the depression. May be something like making decisions in anger or greed kinda feeling. I am not sure how one can trade ten bitcoins in single go but that seems to be really vague to my imagination. If you had that much money then you would have been way careful than this. Anyways, if you have lost it and then again you doing the same then let’s just hope you do it way carefully.
1196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Keep or sell ethereum before the merge? on: August 30, 2022, 06:05:27 PM
Could be dump or could be an opportunity for better profits. However, the third wheel suggests that all the miners in the world will wait until this happens and they would love to see ETH go up a little more and as soon as this happens then they might sell out as much as they could to recover their profits. Since with changed algorithm they wont be much useful and compensation does not seem to be viable option here since it’s not like ETH would be able to give dividend or something.

Best choice is to wait until we close to the timelines of merger and be quick to go on crazy sell after this happens.
1197  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Overcome a Bear Market in Cryptocurrency on: August 30, 2022, 05:44:02 PM
On a contrary we do not even need to keep reminding us that what was it like in the past. To be a success in the crypto market all we need to understand why it’s growing towards the upper market all the time since it’s singularity.

With this much understanding you can start feeling that all the bear markets in the crypto are just temporary and they do not need to be taken way seriously.

However, they should be taken seriously in terms of one thing - they are pulling the market value down so that you can bag more crypto into your wallet.  Wink
1198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin versus Banks on: August 30, 2022, 05:33:26 PM
Definitely decentralised nature brings more protection against our transaction and its data integrity. Look at the image, everyone holds the chunk of info for the transaction we made and the record is kept at multiple places encrypted and forever available. In case of banks, that central server holds the key to everything. It’s human controlled, it’s manipulative and could turn out to be disaster in case of emergency situation in the country. For example, heavy national debts, deprivation of national reserve funds and what not, then this centralised system holds the power to hold your accounts and you beg for your own money. That’s why bitcoin is asset where it’s always available to you.
1199  Economy / Economics / Re: Savings during inflation on: August 30, 2022, 04:31:16 PM
Even this happens in the industry wide financial management. For example, in mechanical driven industries they will always stock up the warehouse with all the jobs they want for the production and thus to avoid the yearly “incriminating” costs for the raw materials and finished products.

In fact we are taught that if company has enough funds then they should always stock up non expiring and non diminishing products in bulk so that when rest of the industry would be buying at high cost and adding the cost into finished product; we would be the one who will sell the finished product at cheapest rate.

So I can completely relate the generator example here and yes there is no point in saving at least when it comes to the daily required stuff.
1200  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Biggest Wins with lowest risks in Casino History on: August 30, 2022, 04:14:44 PM
Oh my God that’s really really amazing to see! Now that is called as most luckiest gamblers from the history. It’s just impossible to agree on that they have actually gotten this much multiplier. Turning cents into multi millions of dollars? It’s just wow factor man.

I am not sure how algorithm played that day but I am pretty sure whole casino users might have lost huge bets to make these ones to win. Because house edge % and users % can not go this crazy. I gotta say they were at right time to press the roll button and grab it all.  Cheesy
