1181  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: ATI HD 6670 Series - anyone got hashrate data? on: September 28, 2011, 10:42:51 AM
I use this card with a hp 300w psu. Poor mans solution to mine some coins without changing psu. I underclocked mine to 700 gpu, 800 ram and get 95 mhash/s @ 71 degree C and 70% fan speed with the bitminter miner. Not the best card for sure Roll Eyes but maybe interesting for people with a dell or hp computer.

Well for people like me (carpenter) all this technical things are a bit hard to understand. The prize is one thing but for me it's more important to understand first how it works. I need a kit i can plug in and mine. The total package. When you can offer that (with enough hash rate), i'm sure that people will buy.

@DrHaribo can you implement a function to throttle down the graphic card ?

Added to my TODO list. Smiley

Ha, a "scammer" that accepts wishes from the people his stealing from... Crap, just kidding Cheesy . I respect your work DrHaribo !

@Randy: Nothing against being careful, like others wrote: take it or leave it. No need for hate.

Well i don't know about his reasons to keep it closed source. All i can say is that it's working well and without problems so far. From my point of view it is safe to use.

Why do you call this guy a jackass ? Just because his miner is closed source ? I think he spent quite some time and money to setup his pool and miner ?!

I tried several pools and miners and imo there is nothing wrong with bitminter.

What makes you trustworthy enough to run your proprietary software on my machine?

Hey Randy, please give me the address of your opensource miner !

I use it and love the design and functionality. Works very well !  Cheesy

@DrHaribo can you implement a function to throttle down the graphic card ?. My iMacs 6970m gets too hot and there is no way to clock the card down  Embarrassed Cry
1191  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: PayPal - good or bad? on: September 25, 2011, 10:01:52 AM
I dislike PP's policies, but they're easier to use (IMO) than Google Checkout. I don't know about Google Checkout, but PayPal is very quick to freeze accounts with 'suspicious' activity. Then, from what I've heard, it can be near impossible to unfreeze the money.

Suspicious activity tends to be actually processing a lot of payments.

+1 I used a VPN connection once to make a payment and they called me at 2am the same day to let me verify that i made the payment. Short after, they froze my account for no real reason. Did not lose any money but i dislike their policies much. They are much too restrictive. Sad, because the idea behind PayPal is good and payment works without problems (when it works).

Hi everyone

I'm Sam from Switzerland. At the moment i mine with my GeForce 8600GT @ 4 MH/s... not quite the burner Roll Eyes . Since electric costs are very high here in Switzerland it's cheaper to buy the bitcoins rather than mine them. Still, i dream about my own FPGA mining rig to mine my own coins.
