I don't think so, as long as there is a want for altcoins and new people investing, ICOs will continue. I think they will have to evolve to make them safer for potential investors but I think they will stick around.
Only thing I can see knocking them down is harsh regulation.

Currently I am involved in the Yupie from Crowdholding, they are a co-creation platform where you can log in for free and earn cryptocurrency by responding to tasks set from startups on their platform. They just finished their successful ICO and they will be launching on an exchange in February. I'm a big fan, ICO investor and also a user of the platform to get more crypto. https://www.crowdholding.com

Hodl on for dear life until it goes back up. Bitcoin is the flagship of cryptocurrencies and so when it drops, most drop with it.

If this goes through it will be the biggest ICO of them all! I shudder to think the amount they could raise. They already have a huge userbase and a great working product...

I am not really surprised, Facebook doesn't like other companies making money off them too much. Also I think they are heavily connected with the USA and the USA condemns ICOs, was only a matter of time.
Weird because I heard that the owner Mark was talking about cryptocurrency and his interest in it.

Hardware wallet is the best option if you are worried about security, although it does depend how much you are going to be exchanging / trading. I think the less you do, the less likely a cold wallet is needed.

Personally I invest around 2-3 ETH, but I research heavily to make sure that it is a great project.

Personally I prefer ETH as I think it is more valuable and has more of a use. What you could do is a 50/50 and that way you get the best of both worlds.

I think everyone is scared of hackers and the fact that it is a digital currency makes people worry more. I think it is a natural fear, you just have to be careful.

Is the ICO finished? I am very interested in this project.

Personally I like ICOrating, but I think you should be weary in using only rating sites to pick ICO's you want to invest into.
The best thing is to just look into ICO's on this page and find a project you think is great and profitable.

I wouldn't state that most ICO's are scams.
I think people still need to realise that they are startups behind them, and just because it goes wrong doesn't mean that it is a scam. Sure there are some bad projects out there but the only way to get over that is heavy amounts of research and asking questions.
You have this forum where you can ask any question directly to the team of the ICO, people need to do this more.

It's very exciting! Lets see what 2018 has in store for ETH.
Now it is just important for ETH to stabilise and continue to grow!

Yes I am, and so should everyone who is thinking in investing into ICO's.
Do you research and ask questions, get involved in their bounty campaigns before you think about throwing your hard earn money into a project. Personally I am currently only investing into ICO's that have a working product as well as all the normal things I look for.

I see that it has been mentioned a few times, but I have to also go with Jesus Coin.
There are bad ideas and then there is Jesus coin which I feel plays on a belief system. According to their website they have raised over 200 ETH....

Have a look at Crowdholding. They have a working beta and they are at 87% towards completing their low hardcap. I expect them to reach this target by the end of the week and close the ICO. https://ico.crowdholding.com

I am quite weary of ICO's that sell out in such a short time, as to me it always to me smells like foul play as they have made deals rather than a public sale.
Good luck to them though!

I would ask about the numbers of tokens, the allocation and look into all the numbers. They should have thought long and hard about the system in place.
I would also ask them why they need a alt coin.

Personally I would rather have the ETH as it is more stable, already broken a big price and I could use it to maybe invest into other coins if I wanted to.
