Just received the following mail by KNC.
What happens if I click on the link ? My second miner is automatically converted to the "Hash while you wait" offer or I end up on a page where I can chose ?

Quote
Dear Michel Dupont,

As you are a Neptune customer, you are entitled to take up our Plan B offer to “Hash While You Wait” until your miner ships, or to continue waiting for your order and select either a Neptune or Titan miner as your additional 2-for-1 offer miner(s) free of charge.

To activate your account please click the following URL/Link https://convert.kncminer.com/xxx where you can choose your option and setup your KnCCloud account.

Your hashing will begin shortly after you have setup your account, provided you’ve made that choice on the Neptune Order Options.

To ensure you receive all the power you've paid for, please ensure that your account is up to date with your wallet address to receive your Plan B mined Bitcoins.

Hashing will stop as soon as your unit ships out from our factory.

If you have any questions please contact: info@kncminer.com

Thanks
KnC Miner Team

OK, I have a modified-DIY-box below 70 C and running on 500 Mhz:

How do I get above 500 Mhz ?

Hi,

This may be something our engineers implement in future firmware revisions, but this is the max limit at the moment I am afraid.

Kind regards,

Is it possible to peal of the yellow sticker from the VRMs ?
Is it safe the put aluminum or cooper heatsinks directly on the VRMs with only thermal paste (link) and not thermal adhesive pads (link) ? As VRMs convert electricity and heatsinks are electrical conductors.

Contact KNC, maybe they'll tell you, or add an option in the next firmware.
Could you post pictures of your set-up ?

Edit : Would these 20mm spacers work ? How many do you need per box ?
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 21, 2014, 08:56:31 PM
I noticed as well that the aluminum plate isn't touching all the VRM's with the same pressure.
What is the thickness of the thermal pad between the VMR's and the aluminium plate ? 0.5mm, 1mm or 1.5mm ?
it's possible to replace the thermal pad and put a thicker one.

Everybody, here's a summary of news from KnCMiner published last week, stay tuned for more updates later this week!
I wonder what happened here ?
Oh wait, I think I here people from KNC's HQ : "Run with the money and bitcoins!"
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 13, 2014, 06:40:20 AM
Lots of people on this topic say that KNC has more then 5% of the hashrate of the network.
According to this website https://getaddr.bitnodes.io/ Sweden has only 1.65% of the hashrate of the network.

I know it doesn't mean much, as they can have a VPN with a US IP for example.

Dead die?

This is an October Jupiter that's been running from 24/7. Noticed I have a dead die. I already increased the SPI voltage all the way up to 3.3V and it wouldn't kick it on. Then I slowly increased the individual die voltage to the MAX, which is +.1465. Didn't awake up the die either. Is there anything else that can be done to kick this die on?  I would really thought that the rig would last a lot longer then 8 months.
My October Jup is dying  - every now & then it stops hashing and says pool URL invalid in PuTTy.

a few reboots/restarts/curse words later and it usually gets back down the shaft

but its happening more often and requiring more effing about to get it back hashing.

in fairness it could do with a scrub - but that can wait.

how about them refunds?

Did you upgrade to Firmware 1.01 ?
Maybe Firmware 1.01 was made to break Octorber/November miners.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: May 20, 2014, 05:14:59 AM
There's one possibility nobody talked about :
KNC produces the Neptunes, puts them in their datacenter, decides to cancel the shipping of the Neptune and Titan and refund everybody with the mined BTC (legally they earned money by keeping the fiat).

I think they will ship on time too, last day of June.  They are just holding out.
You can bet, look at my signature.

each customer who ordered a first or second batch Neptune, will get a minimum 6TH for each order, with their original 3TH product shipped in June and the free “third batch” machine delivered in August.

1 Neptune in June and 1 Neptune in August... not 2 Neppys in June.
Or 2 Neptunes in August Roll Eyes

Can't wait for plan 'C'.

I'm waiting for plan F for "F**k customers". Oh wait wasn't that the FrankenJupiters ?
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: May 12, 2014, 11:41:58 AM
How can they come up with a so bad design for the FrankenJupiter !
Look at their video : https://www.dropbox.com/s/wq0fl657n3i818u/20140430_200829.mp4
Did they seriously think it would arrive in one piece ?! The box itself is thin and the coolers aren't attached to anything.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 30, 2014, 11:38:32 PM
forgot them?Huh? forgot them?Huh? (have to sit down I feel dizzy......alas I wish I could purchase jupiters and give
them the attention of purchasing them the same weight as usb 333mh asic miners....

the mind boggles

Searing

(ps hire me to run you gh empire...i'd remember!!! Wink
You will eventually.  But unless you have too much money, did the investment bring anything in return. . .
"some Neptunes" and "forgot them"

Something doesn't fit here...  I absolute don't forget an investment of tens of thousends of dollars.
I entered the BTC mania by investing in a KNC Saturn (that is still mining by the way) and was ready to loose the ~4600$ I invested.
I already cashed back my investment, so everything else is extra and if I loose it I don't really care.
I had a stressful and demanding job, so I played a lot with the BTC, managed to gain some, and used it all to buy a few Neptunes, to get my mind of the BTC world. In the meantime, I totally forgot about them.

All I see now, is a bunch of people that asked for a refund or exchanged their order for a Titan or a 3Th 28nm.
I understand that people are afraid to not get their investment back.
I personally think, I'll get back the BTC I used after 4 to 6 mouths  of mining if we receive, the paid ones (and not the free ones) before July.

Could you give me half of you optimism?  Grin
I would be the happiest guy in the world.  Cool

I'm so happy, still have some Neptune orders because I forgot them. And now they are doubled  !
Also, KNC is learning from their mistakes (shipping, firmware, maybe dead lines), so I'm sure to receive full functional miners.
