You're right. Shill is the wrong word ( and kind if offensive too) heavy supporter maybe... And I also should have put "from my perspective". I hope you can see it from my point of view. No offence meant orama
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 07, 2013, 04:26:35 PM
Avenger, you have been attacking everyone for weeks now. grow the fuck up and move on. Quit your bitching and go somewhere else if you are having so many issues with people on this forum. Grow some balls, quit being a little whiny bitch and move the fuck on.
Actually, any time I criticise knc, people attack me and I defend myself. That is how it goes. I have not attacked anyone at random. I have not said anything critical to anyone who hasn't had a go at me first.

I think you should tell people like Phoenix to grow some balls, rather than sit by while he has a go at each person who says anything even slightly critical of knc. Or that has an expericence different from his privileged experience, i.e. special treatment, free boards. Man, if I got free boards, I'd only say positive things too. But as it is, I got defective boards and nothing from knc to help me fix the issues without it costing me a fortune.

I don't need to be told what to do by some gimp who didn't even have the forethought to rehearse plugging in a device and finding the IP to see that he could do it. And then he acts like his idiot behaviour is somehow testiment to how brilliant and how clever he is  Shocked

I've been defending myself and it's all in response to people's digs at me. For example, I haven't attacked you or said anything to you asic-k and look at you taking shots at me and telling me what to do. Who do you think you are? If a mod tells me to tone down my language or something, I'll do it. But it's none of your business - or anyone else - to tell me what to do. I will share my expereince of knc and their hardware in the knc thread as long and as often as I like. So suck on that.

N.B. You want an example? I made this post the other day, which was making the point that knc have NEVER met any delivery deadlines etc.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170332.msg3842346#msg3842346

I did not attack any forum member.

Two posts later, RickJamesBTC take a pot-shot at me. I set him straight.

A few posts after that, Phoenix takes a pot-shot and makes out I'm the only person who got defective hardware from knc. Which is of course a lie, so I set him straight.

About a page after that, Cyper takes a pot-shot saying I never ordered from knc. I called him an arsehole in response.

So you tell me - who started attacking who here? And who is defending themselves?

Avenger, i apologize for attacking you like that sorry it was uncalled for and you are right. You have never said anything bad to me either. I am just getting frustrated as everything I log in it's all I see. Orama was a pretty obvious knc shill albeit a very helpful one. Phoenix tho isn't but just a die hard knc cheerleader, maybe that got him some preferential treatment but honestly big deal. This company is new and plays favourites plus people (such as myself) are bending over backwards to get their products so they have the power. Ah well. It's just tiring.
123  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 100 GH/S? on: December 07, 2013, 02:52:19 AM
I really want a bitcoin miner and the cheapest I have found is a black arrow Prospero X-1 that does 100GH/S. It may be able to be overclocked to 128 GH/S. But it ships end of February 2014. Should I pre order?
i a newbie myself so my opinion stands for very little but this is still capitalism in its purest form no matter how much fluffy harmonic resonance is spouted, its a microcosm,Machiavellian, but in its favour it is not a private body, but the ASIC chip manufacturers are a cartel in a so called free market,so be very careful bro,me personally I'm sat with funds and there staying put until there's some parity in the system, and that may change, let's just hope it's not a prototype electronic monetary unit for the matrix

Here is a good profit calculator:

sorry but dont use that, its laughably inaccurate....

Show me a calculator that accurately predicted profits for the last 2 years kthx

none....there isnt one. duh.

I'm very excited!  Can't wait!  Good luck to everyone, except that Textplorer guy who took the ad out of his signature last week.   Tongue

haha!

good luck everyone.
125  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 06, 2013, 11:11:06 PM
HashFast is asking me to write a miner frontend a la GUIMiner, so I may be doing that in the near future if they can get me out a test unit soon.

OMG, I can't believe the stupidities they are wasting their energy on. Who in his right might needs a GUI for high-end mining device? Who would trust a GUI to run their mining daemon? You do such a things in a console for high reliability and easy maintenance.

I'm all for giving HF enough leash to finish what they are doing, but this just pisses me off.

KNC and Bitfury have GUIs.

Have you read the post I've replied to? GUIMiner is a god damned desktop app. KnC and Bitfury don't have any desktop app, for simple reason their users would hate it. They have HTML wrapper around cgminer RPC interface.

Nevertheless it's not important since tacotime clarified it is not "a la GUIMiner" as he originally posted, it's rather some kind of a script generator. God only knows who needs a script generator for a few options added to cgminer command line.

Isn't GUIMiner just a wrapper for CGMiner anyways?

No, standalone desktop application.

I actually think it is a wrapper, yes its an application but its just cgminer with a gui overlay.

i have been waiting on verification for level 2 since november 9th.....i have been forgotten. Really need this fixed asap guys....

Doubt if you were forgotten... have you looked at the backlog? It's about a month at current progress rate. Good news is there is a TON of new accounts coming (can you say 'please sir, can we have some volume?'  Grin ) Bad news, they are coming on at a trickle compared to rate of signup over the last 2 months. Just hope the exchange can handle the new levels, since it is barely coping with the current situation. I don't think very many people/entities were prepared for this recent meteoric rise. Hopefully it is a good learning experience, because it is only just beginning.

"Date range we are working on: Nov 23 to Nov 27"

i have been forgotten/overlooked.

Ya thats a bit out of range  Shocked
Have you contacted them to see if you are one of the ones waiting for more info?

ugh, called them a few times before this big surge of bitcoin interest and they said it would be 2 or 3 days....then the huge interest came and now i can never get through on the phone.... i get it they are busy, its just annoying.

they are needed interfaces, not gui alone.

I tried forcing the pipes by hand to allign so they make a flat surface, but they are not moving and I am afraid that if I apply too much force I can do even more damage.
I might get a small hammer, put a piece of rubber or other cushioning material and hit the end of the piper on the top of the cooler downwards.

That's a precision machined surface.  You will never be able to get it flat enough by hand.  Just buy a new cooler, and hopefully, get KnC to reimburse you for the damaged one.

no hes saying its actually bent, its hard to see in the pics but i know what he means. the pipes would barely contact the chip
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 06, 2013, 04:27:13 PM
oh shitttt

exactly why they need to put foam or air packing into the case for shipment. sigh.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 06, 2013, 04:21:23 PM
Just received my November Jupiters and there is damage. Here's the email I sent to support:

Quote

I just received my November batch Jupiters and 2 of the ASIC chips are extremely hot, reaching over 86C in a very cold room, which cannot be kept cold as it is the living room. The other ASIC chips vary in temperature from 38 to 57 degrees.
I removed the heatsink from the hottest ASIC to re-paste it and as you can see in the pictures provided it has been severely damaged during transit.
The base consisting of 4 copper pipes is supposed to be perfectly flat, so it has perfect contact with the heat spreader of the ASIC chip, but the pipes have been misaligned and bended and currently they do not sit at the same level as seen in the pictures.
The original metal plank that sits directly on top of the pipes has fallen off even though it is not supposed to as it is glued to the pipes.
Because of the uneven contact surface the whole heatsink is tilted backwards.

Also recently I bought an October Jupiter from (Phoenix1969) from Hawaii and it also arrived with one of the heatsink damaged it the same way. Until yesterday I was convinced it was damaged by being dropped as it looked impossible for such damage to happen during transit, but now with the units I have received directly from you it is obvious UPS are at fault. And his unit was packaged much better than yours - 2 separate boxes and a lot of thick bubble wrap.

Pictures from the Jupiters I received from you today: http://imgur.com/a/zrL2Z#0

Pictures from the Jupiter received a few days ago: http://imgur.com/a/zCCJk#0

The ASIC chips + boards are fine - it is just the coolers that are damaged. I have already ordered a replacement cooler for the Jupiter, not received directly from you, but would need to order 1 or 2 more for the damaged ones you sent me. I will appreciate it if you can pay for these or just sent me replacements.

Thank you.

man, you have had some bad luck/experiences eh....

I didn't get free anything (just a t-shirt) and I do well currently.
What now?

for the record, i am one of the people that is very very pissed at some of knc's choices and favouritism but also a happy customer and happy with customer service and delivery. lol meh...

136  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 05, 2013, 04:28:40 AM
I'm not sure where the " <0.5W/GH/s underclocked" claim came from.

It came from Simon himself:

Chip Specs
 - 28nm custom ASIC
 - Power Consumption: significantly less than 1.0 W/GH at nominal clock speed
 - Designed to be underclocked for greater efficiency – better than 0.5 W/GH*
 - Designed to be overclocked for greater performance  - better than 500GH/s**

* Real silicon power consumption may vary from simulation results by plus or minus 20%
** May require improved power supplies in the chassis

oh snap

What Date and Time Did you place your Order??? and what is your Que Position

If you are considering paying the original BTC price, I've got a Baby Jet plus upgrade that cost me 50 BTC in total. I'm #525 in the queue. Order placed 8/29 at 8:55 PM.

So you payed about $6k for your order then

My Offer is $8,500 for your order

hahahah asshat

All November units arrived in a reasonable time and function as (or above) advertised.  Just like batch one.

Five stars KnC, really good stuff.

this is sarcasm, right??

He's talking about HIS experience. Like the majority of the thousands of KNC customers not the handful of people who had issues.

+ 1

if you need to buy the "cheapest miner" you can find, dont bother mining.
