121  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you thinking about the future? on: March 01, 2018, 08:11:07 AM
Have you ever thought about buying bitcoin for your children as a future investment?
Planning for our own children is one of the hardest thing a parent could have. The question is how can you come up with a great plan where finding money won’t be as hard as we experience now? Whose parents want their children to suffer/experience hardships as they experienced growing up?

It is one of the very reasons why I joined bitcoin, I want my children to have a better future. I don’t want to suffer just to survive every single day. I want to have a simple growing life.

I will invest in bitcoin for their future. I don’t know when will BTC end, but I will save money for their education and will probably tell them about bitcoin in the right time.

123  Economy / Economics / Re: Where do you spend your money from Bitcoin? on: March 01, 2018, 02:06:31 AM
Today's economy is either rising or falling depending on the consumers and sellers. If you join the Bitcoin, there is a high probability that you will gain something from your money because there are a lot of opportunities here. So my question is, "Where do you usually spend your money that you have gained here in Bitcoin?"
I haven’t really had money from bitcoin since I have started only on January. I joined several bounties hoping FB won’t ban those campaigns and will finally receive my very first token on the end of the month. However, I have my plans already if ever I will sell by coins. I will spend some of my money first for my family. I will buy clothes for my son and treat my family in a fancy restaurant where we can talk and laugh all along. For the next tokens, I will continue fixing and beautifying our house. So I need to continue my bounties to accumulate more tokens.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but for the post to earn 50 merit (from one person) would require that post to seriously be up to that standard and I don't think posts like these deserve it.

Chachacoin17, both posts but different topics. Merited by: -thend1949(50)  on February 07, 2018, -marcuslong(50) on February 08, 2018

    https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2902381.msg29852678#msg29852678

on the side note, Chachacoin17 goit merited for 50 merit 3 times on the same day. His merit history.

Side note: fantom1962. merited alex bond on 5 different posts, totaling to 50 merit when all combined, trying not to look obvious lol. Also, all usernames that merited him from January 27, 2018 to January 31, 2018 have a very, very similar usename style. Short name followed by a number. You can see it on his merit summary.

125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it bad to own and control over 1,100,000 Bitcoins? on: February 27, 2018, 07:41:12 AM
    I came across this article
    https://www.businessinsider.com.au/bitcoin-craig-wright-5-billion-lawsuit-2018-2?utm_source=Business+Insider+Australia

Craig Wright, the Australian technology entrepreneur who once claimed to have been behind the creation of bitcoin,
is being sued by the family of his dead former business partner Dave Kleiman. The lawsuit claims Wright wrongly
gained control over "huge amounts of bitcoin that would be worth over $US10 billion today".

So I wanted to know if you -- "owned and controlled over 1,100,000 Bitcoins" with market value over $US10 billion --
What types of things would you do that you don't do now? Would you become ruthless as a person? Who would you sue?

    Thoughts?
I do believe that people change because of money. It’s like this: a poor, kind-hearted and generous person becomes instantly rich. He said we won’t change his attitude even if he is rich but all of a sudden he’s become greedy, selfish and too proud of himself. Did he become ruthless? Yes.

If I will be a billionaire, I cannot foresee the future and tell you that I won’t be ruthless. I might change as well. I just hope that I won’t be blinded by the material things and ask my Savior to guide and enlighten me all the way.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to earn through Airdrop? on: February 27, 2018, 05:40:39 AM
AirDrop (AirDrop) is a free distribution of tokens to anyone who wants to register.
Tokens can be used to popularize a completely new coin, which is not yet available on stock exchanges, and only preliminary sale of tokens is carried out.
In addition, token developers can distribute free coins to existing holders of crypto currency in a certain proportion (for example, charging 10% of the volume of coins lying on the purse).
To participate in AirDrop is quite simple, you need to perform a couple of simple actions: for example, to enter the telegram channel, fill in the google form of your login, specify the etherium purse and get your coins / tokens in a short time.
Is it like the bounty campaigns available in Bounties? I am sorry but I am not that knowledgeable so I am trying to read and explore. In your answer , it seems like the bounties available in this forum, like the facebook campaign, signature campaign, twitter or telegram?? If I join in this campaigns, it's like i joined airdrop as well??
    127  Local / Pilipinas / Re: 21 Million bitcoin? on: February 26, 2018, 07:14:48 AM
Just curious what if namina na po lahat ng 21 million na bitcoin ano po ang mangyayari? Kelan po kaya mamimina lahat to? Is this means end na din po ng mga miners and ng bitcoin? What do you think guys posible bang mamina po lahat ng bitcoin?
Siguro that time meron ng papalit kay Bitcoin as main cryptocurrency.

128  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: February 23, 2018, 07:46:16 AM
Andrew Haldane said one solution would be for the Bank of England to issue a state-backed digital currency based on bitcoin. Supporting this initiative would be a negative interest rate levied on paper currency relative to the digital currency, with these measures do you think there is more possibilities that sometime:

Paper money will be banned entirely?
How long do you think that happens?
    would it work?
What security and privacy risks would it raise?
And how would public and privately issued monies interact?

    1.   I think there is a possibility that paper money will vanish or will be replace by digital currency. There is this microchip that is being made (or even really existing now) so that the government can monitor everyone’s everything and whereabouts even accounts when this chip will be implanted in a person’s body. However, I don’t agree with this chip. If this will really happen, then BTC will be of use and will replace paper money.
    2.   With the mere existence of cryptocurrency and braniacs this world has, it could happen in decades from now.
    3.   I just hope that they will create a very tight and safe security for this one since everyone’s money is in the internet. When the security and codes are tight I know there will be someone who will challenge himself and will try his best to crack the security.
    4.   That, I don’t have any idea.
129  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin help out of school youth... on: February 23, 2018, 03:15:48 AM
Do you think Bitcoin can help out of school youth to finish their studies or not?
For me in some other way yes it will help . It will help young people to gain insight on how to earn money and how to value the money they earn. But it may also be the reason to them for not continuing their studies because they earn already a lot of money on bitcoin..
BTC and other cryptocurrency can help OSYs or the out-of-school-youth who are really unable to further in their studies due to lack of financial support. If they have internet connections and minimum means of doing such, they trade, mine and invest so they can help themselves to live a better life especially for their family.

Nevertheless, OSYs who were out of school just because they are lazy, bored and were kicked out because of some untoward behavior but are financially capable to go and finish their studies, I would rather advise them to get their assess off and finish up a degree. Don’t make BTC their reason of pulling out from school, that is so lame.
130  Local / Pilipinas / Re: A proposal for Philippines to have its own Cryptocurrency on: February 23, 2018, 12:40:25 AM

131  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin End World Poverty? on: February 22, 2018, 07:41:04 AM
I don't see how bitcoin is helping people in Africa getting food or avoiding wars.

Me either. As a person living in a third world country, I don’t believe that bitcoin will end or eventually end poverty in this world. Look at this, how will a poor person can have a connection to bitcoin in the internet? He will rather buy food for his family instead of buying phone and connect it to the internet so he can do cryptocurrency and BTC. Also, he will rather work his ass off instead of sitting down in front of a computer/laptop without any certainties and no food on his plate.

133  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: February 22, 2018, 12:51:42 AM
Is it better to save money in bank or invest it online, in real estate or maybe gold?
Investing your money online is not that reliable. Hackers may be able to steal your money and lose it all at once. Investing money in banks is more secure, just be sure that the bank is known, big and stable. Small time banks may turn to bankruptcy and your money will be gone. Saving money is also good. Money on hand will be used in case of emergencies and other important necessities.

Real estate is also a good investment. Since the world’s population, the demand for houses and lots is high. When at its peak, selling these real estates can give you huge amount of money that you can use for your other needs or can be used by your children and grandchildren in the future.

Handling money still depends on the person and the things s/he will do and the country s/he is in. I believe first world countries can offer more secure ways in investing and saving money since their technologies are more modern, safe and fast. Moreover, third world countries have lesser stability in terms of investments and security.
134  Other / Meta / Re: The big advantage of the merit points system on: February 21, 2018, 07:04:29 AM
Here is the cynic in me posting this.

As I see it, the biggest advantage of the merit points system is that it allows you to talk about merit points, and to be rewarded with merit points. I've been awarded a few points, all except one were for comments about the merit system. The one on its own was for a comment about running Bitcoin core and Bitcoin Cash nodes on the same computer. Shock, horror, that was a post about using Bitcoin, and that seems to be as low priority here.

Of course I'm not eligible for the really good awards 30-50, because I don't promote scam coins. You can see that posts like " I bought 100 scamcoins yesterday [well I didn't really, because I don't have any money yet, but hopefully you suckers will make a load for me], and I've already made enough to buy a new car."

So here is my plea to those of you who have been made Merit faucets. Please could you reward members who make good supportive posts about Bitcoin and respectable Altcoins, and who provide technical help and information for Bitcoin users and prospective users.

Please don't reward the Ponzi pushers who are here to rip off members and pollute the boards.

I guess this thread has killed my chance of getting Merit Points Merit Points. Smiley
Honestly, I was worried when I heard that I needed to have 10 merits to be member, and so on and so forth. I was a bit worried because I have no idea on how be given merits. I asked a member to give me some tips because she was given a lot that is almost equal to her activities. She told me to have quality posts. In my point of view, I have given some quality posts, but may be not enough for those who give merits.

As of now, I try to give/create a quality post. Twists some ideas, and read some posts related to the topic, give some relevant ideas and correct my grammar and punctuation. Thanks you for sharing your idea.
135  Economy / Economics / Re: Best tip on saving money on: February 21, 2018, 04:30:44 AM
Hi guys! Can you share some tried and tested tricks on making the most out of your buck and also some tips on how to save money more effectively. This will be a heck of a help to our fellow users here. Thank you so much.
I also have the same problem as yours. I am having a hard time managing my money and earning. My mentally is that, if a have, i have, if none, then none. Then I came to realize, it wasn't suppose to be this way. What will happen if there is an emergency? What will I use? So I started to change my mindset, and tried to earn.

For now, I am listing down all of my expenses, everyday, even the smallest one so that I will know where the money is going and will know where to cut expenses. Also, I set aside at least 10% of my salary and my husbands' before paying bills and buying necessities. I also ponder before buying, if do i really need this and that or not.

I think it is somehow working (I started only a couple of months).  am aware where our money goes and I can save a little amount for emergency or other necessary expenses for the future.

138  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the common cause of poverty? on: February 19, 2018, 05:02:24 AM
Will you explain what common  reason why some other country is still experiencing poverty and some person dying because of hunger because of efficiency on food?
In a third world country like mine, i cannot say that resources is one of the reasons why there are still many who are very poor. I cannot also point my finger to the government because, there are so many problems that must be faced not only poverty. I think there are still people who were born poor and will die poor because, they did it themselves. If you I was born poor, i need to work my ass off so i can provide basic necessities of my family.. I need to strive harder. I need to work and work until i am able to save and put up a simple business and everything will follow.

However, there are many people who are lazy and put a blame to everyone beside her/himself. People who wait for small blessings from neighbor of from their families. People who work but gambles, smokes cigar, takes drugs and drinks and drowns themselves with liquor. People who work but spends beyond their paycheck. People who are rich but takes advantage to the poor. People played by fate and loses hope. People that are advantageous to generous people. Politicians who thinks only of themselves and how be richer. There are so many kinds of people and so many reasons why poverty is one of the world's problem.
139  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Making fun of a Special Child on: February 16, 2018, 02:44:24 AM
Everyone more or less laughed and made fun of special children (and also "weird" or "abnormal" people) at one point in their lives, you'd be lying if you deny that.
    My question is,
    Why do we laugh?
Is it because it is genuinely funny, thus we laugh?
Is it to make ourselves better? if so what's the difference?
It is genuinely funny because they aren't normal.
Is there something wrong with that?
I honestly laughed and was disgusted about special people before because of lack of knowledge about these kind of people. Also, their physical appearance is far from the norm and its like a taboo to thier families. But while studying, i learned to understand and appreciate these people, and now i teach children with special needs. I pity those who still exclude them and seem disgusted about special appearances and out of the norm characteristics of people with special needs.

Tell me a way money can buy you happiness
or joy, or satisfaction, or anything you wanna call it
I always wanted to have a car, live in a fully furnished bungalow with complete furniture and appliances and wont lose food stock, travel and provide everything for my family. Since, these dreams need money,  if i can achieve them, then i can say money bought my happiness. However, these are only temporary happiness.  Only you can tell if your are trully happy one way or the other, depwnding on what happiness means to you.
