121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoKitties is mental on: December 07, 2017, 07:43:12 PM
So i know it's the world of cryptocurrency, plus it's the internet but I seriously underestimated the impact CryptoKitties would have. It's proper booming! I'm assuming it will be a fad but still, fair play and credit where it's due!

CryptoKitties is the latest craze in blockchain era innovation, but the real problem is blockchain wasn't created to play games, and effects we can see now. I was accumulating Tokens today on EtherDelta:
- Oyster Pearl  [PRL]
- QuantStamp [QSP]
- SunContract [SNC]
I paid 7.50$ in fees only just to purchase this Tokens, I didn't transfer them back to my wallet even!
I have nothing against games, I like to play games but this idea putting the game on blockchain? Stupid, investors suffer now!
For 3 transaction I should pay 0.012$, not 7.50$. I wish this game never existed in first place, useless waste of resources. I read on their Facebook page even users playing this stupid game can't log in and play because to network issues.
I don't think this situation will change quickly, because of HIGH fees we paying to ETH network.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top altcoins to invest now? on: December 07, 2017, 07:10:43 PM
This is a list of coins I invested below 10$ and didn't surprise me like Monetha is:

- SONM [SNM] - universal fog supercomputer powered by the Ethereum blockchain.
- Oyster Pearl [PRL] - decentralized storage ledger protocol.
- SunContract [SNC] - platform empowers individuals, with an emphasis on home owners, to freely buy, sell or trade electricity.
- KyberNetwork [KNC] - decentralised exchange.
- Truckcoin [TRKC] - digital currency developed by GoldenHill International Limited.
- Quantstamp [QST] - the Protocol for Securing and Auditing Smart Contracts.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash hacked? on: December 07, 2017, 12:51:51 AM
Crazy time for sure. I cant decide if its the perfect moment to pull a take the money and claim they are trying to fix it while setting themselves up for good and running off while their excuses buy them time or if someone actually pulled off quite the theft. Either way it sucks for all those using Nicehash.  Many miners have with little knowledge were using it for the simple ease of use and have never really looked into other pools before.  It will be interesting to see what happens to those and where they go after losing most of their earning potential.  Those who were grinding away with 1 or 2 GPUs or even CPU miners probably wont come back.  Although they are small timers they add up to a decent hash rate between them all.

I was mining on NiceHash with 2 GPU + CPU. I am shocked what happened, it looks like everyone lost their balance for good. That was internal wallets so money is lost for good. Below is a hacker wallet that collected all BTC from NiceHash. I think they will be out of business if not they should, and they should take responsibility. Users always complain about Bitcoin was banned somewhere in the world or there is an extra verification process on the exchange but after this what happened to NiceHash we can understand how important is to put right laws in place to prevent things like this to happen in future.

124  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex bad customer service!!! on: December 06, 2017, 11:44:41 PM
On 5th of Dec, my internet provider changed my router IP address.
As a consequence, I was locked-out of my BITFINEX account as well as of my BITSO account.
It took 6 minutes to put this new IP address on the BITSO whitelist, however my ticket to BITFINEX helpdesk is now 30 hrs old and no reply yet!
This is totally unacceptable, and the worst "customer service" I have ever experienced in 1 year of trading!!!

Does anybody else have similar experience with BITFINEX "customer service"? Please share your adventures and reply to my post.
Tx,
Aristocat02

There is so many complain about basically any existing exchange: Poloniex, Bittrex, HitBTC and so on. I personally for ERC20 Tokens use EtherDelta, maybe is not the best out there, speed is slow, sometimes very very slow but is decentralised and you can see this once you master a bit complicated interface is a nice small exchange that does what is suppose to do. Bitfinex have good reviews, I didn't hear about bad experience with this exchange, I will say wait a little bit longer around 48h for a response and see what happened.
https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.bitfinex.com - 4/5 stars - 10 reviews

Aristocat02 I had few weeks ago dispute with Livecoin exchange (send Tokens to wrong address), and I took them 48h to resolve my issue, I recovered my Tokens too only paid small fee for technical support to recover.
125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Futures - December 10. Will it Rise or Fall? on: December 06, 2017, 07:28:20 PM
CME Group will start trading Bitcoin on 10th December 2017 and one week later on 18th December 2017 Bitcoin will start trading on WallStreet! It's no surprise that price surged so quickly right now just before the end of the year. For many investors that never had a chance to buy Bitcoin from various reason (failed to trust, know very little about it or simply didn't know how to do it) now will be able to buy. Once Bitcoin goes to the main stream stock markets price will rise even further. If Bitcoin crash it will be the only chance to buy cheap before rising even higher! All signs on sky shows that Bitcoin will be soon 15.000$
126  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex stealing my coins on: December 06, 2017, 02:03:17 AM
I’ve been locked out of my poloniex account for months and I’ve sent several support tickets. They’re ignoring me now when I send support tickets. Is there any options I have outside of poloniex that will force them to give me my coins.

I am really sorry to hear that, I was always thinking Poloniex is a good exchange. Did you keep your coins on an exchange or just transfer them for day trading and transfer back to your wallet when a trade was complete? I never heard bad things about Poloniex, I've been using this exchange is past but never left coins there, always transfer back to the wallet on PC. If I may ask how much funds you have frozen? I check trustpilot.co.uk for reviews and there is about 35 complains on 43 reviews so it may be a problem with this exchange that started not long time ago. Unfortunately, I can't find any contact number that is confirmed to Poloniex support or customer service but if I do I will update this post and send you PM with details.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing $100 weekly on: December 06, 2017, 01:34:36 AM
Hey guys. I’m able to invest about $100 weekly. Could go $200 on certain weeks but only if it’s something that’s about to sky rocket or something.

I was looking for some help as what is the best approach for someone who can invest this amount weekly. I know it isn’t much but I’d like to hold long-term instead of expecting big returns right away

That's a nice amount of money monthly to invest (400$) Good choice locotron. I invest the same amount of money but monthly not weekly usually after payday and sometimes I buy more on dips (almost every month for 50-100$). Try diverse your portfolio, 70% in Bitcoin/Ethereum and 30% in coins you know/trust they will perform well. You can try new ICO's too but you need to understand the risk you may lose your money on them, so research and careful decisions is a must.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The easiest way to know a scam airdrop on: December 05, 2017, 11:03:22 PM
How can airdrops scam if they gave out free ? I never asked for my private key.

You can leave your Bitcointalk account nickname and email address and this will be enough. If you have easy password less or equal to 7 characters you already lost your Bitcointalk account along with your credentials (email and password) If you use the same password on the email account you already lost email address too. Sometimes your Bitcointalk account can be for sale but most of the times will be used for Signature Campaign. I participated in one AirDrip and regret this, simply saying is not worth it. If you really want to do the best way is to create new  account and separate email address just for that to stay safe.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you ❤️ crypto??? on: December 05, 2017, 09:45:13 PM
crypto change my financial for now,, I become a free man without bos,
and thats why i love crypto my friends

I would love to be my own Boss, but right now I still have a regular job and someone above me. What I love is... see my supervisor or manager's faces when Bitcoin price rises significantly because both are non-believers, and they think they know everything better and truth is, at least with my manager he got that chair reporting on other coworkers to management - not the best way to get promoted being a snitch :/

What do I like in crypto?
Each day is different, can surprise you more than cheating GF.
You can meet and talk to other guys on an exchange just for fun or for clues if not sure about some ICO's or coins, and sometimes get useful information. Troll box is a nice way to relax after work and not only that, I took some advice about SNC 3 months ago and did my own research and it did pay off 300% profit.
Crypto is 10x faster than on Stockmarket, you will never have time get bored with it. Everyone likes to dream about something and crypto give you a chance to make dream come true (realistically).
You can use crypto as saving account and instead 2% a year it can be 200-300% with high risk or 20-50% with a small risk, still 10x better than any bank in the world!

130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What the hell are Crypto kitties? on: December 05, 2017, 08:49:14 PM
I read some topics on reddit about crypto kitties and some people that they sold their kitties for 250ETH? WTF?
What is this ?

CryptoKitties lets players buy and breed "crypto-pets" on Ethereum's  blockchain network. The real problem is this game put too much stress on Ethereum network and is in charge of approximately 20% total traffic. I think it will be banned from Network or there will be a fork to get rid of this game. I have nothing against but imagine is getting now to main media, and viral on all news portal, reddit, facebook, youtube. What will happen if 5 other crypto copycats create a similar game on Etereum Network?  stand still and transaction fees will increase. This craze didn't start yet for good, it's a good time to stop it before is too late.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best Social Media for promoting an ICO ? on: December 05, 2017, 06:05:10 PM
My list will look like this:
1. Bitcointalk
2. Reddit
3. Telegram
4. YouTube
5. Medium
6. Slack

I am everyday on Bitcointalk forum for me is most important source of news has information. Reddit earn second place proving it's powerful medium when Battlefront 2microtransactions scam show daylight, EA lost millions! and still don't know how to recover, EA stock is down 8.5% !!!This show you how loyal community can screw corpo-thefts and show no to RIP off on triple AAA game (buy all available loot boxes in game will cost you 2500$) Telegram is best to chat, like IRC years ago. Easy to use and no spam like on Slack. YouTube best for reviews. Medium good for news/reviews too and articles. Slack - good if there is no Telegram, otherwise too much spam.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: alt. coins on: December 05, 2017, 03:35:40 PM
Since Bitcoins are so expensive now, wondering what is the best alt. coins to invest for newbies

I can see you just registered Bitcointalk account yesterday, you should take your time reading subforums here as much as you want to invest. It's a good thing you ask, better this way than buying something and regret that brings you loss, and we all understand that but some basics you need to learn before putting real money, that's being said.
You can start watching most popular coins/tokens on www.coinmarketcap.com - Top 25 should be fine for you. There are there because each project proved is trustworthy and investors saw this as an opportunity as well.
You don't need to buy 1 Bitcoin, for example, if you want to invest 100$ you can buy a small fraction of 1 BTC - 0.0085 and keep an investment (it will still pay off)
Don't rush yourself into new ICO's - since you are newbie it may be worst choice you can do, there is a lot to learn before you can comfortably take a risk and invest the amount you can lose in new projects and sleep well when it brings loss, and this can happen.
The safe bet is BTC and ETH. You can go wrong with Top 2 in crypto.
Skip Bitconnect as in some countries is considered as scam/Ponzi scheme. Take your time before diving in crypto and believe me it will pay off. If you want to stay updated with new ICO's check YouTube: Ian Balina This guy is ex IBM employee and right now full-time crypto investor that reviews new projects. You will learn from best watching his videos.

133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: beginning investor on: December 05, 2017, 02:14:40 PM
If you planning saving money and invest in crypto I think is a brilliant idea, I started 3 months ago, and I have over 3000$ in ICO's invested, I think is a great idea because if you choose right ICO you can profit between 2x - 10x of your base investment and more. There is no way you can do the same with stock in a short span of time, at least I never seen that kind of profit. You need to know the risk and you ready to take that with caution (possible to lose all investment but again never lose to 0 but it may happen if you choose scam ICO). I have a little more than 10 ICO's in my portfolio with only 2 that bring significant losses (Monetha MTH and KickCoin KICK) I am comfortable with that, didn't sell single Token because I invest longterm and I can wait, also I can afford to lose what I invested.
Make sure you do your own research, invest the amount you can lose, watch reviews on YouTube and join communication channels like Slack and Telegram to stay updated and you will be fine. Sometimes smaller project backed by a real company can be more interesting like Truckcoin rather than overhyped ICO that don't have working software prototype. The decision is yours.
Investment in Bitcoin was always a safe bet, and if you buy a small fraction of one BTC you can still watch how it grows.  Try diversity in investment and invest in Bitcoin and good ICO. Bitcoin is more safe bet for sure but ICO can be more profitable if chosen right.
134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 50% correction on BTC possible? on: December 05, 2017, 10:45:15 AM
With the current continuing rise of Bitcoin price, we expect a correction coming soon. Do you it can reach around 50%? Give us your thought and own prediction.

No, if Bitcoin correction will take place it will be much smaller than 50%. If we take John McAfee price predictions into account (he was right about 2017 BTC price) then by 2020 half million dollar price will be impossible to achieve with 50% corrections all time. BTW John McAfee a few days ago changed his statement about Bitcoin price prediction in the 2020 year and now he says it will be 1 million dollars for 1 BTC.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC expected to be go down on: December 04, 2017, 07:56:02 PM
"BTC expected to be go down after December 11, there will be an event - "Chicago mercantile exchange" and BTC is pumping funds for that" is this news true guys?

I doubt that Bitcoin will go down on 11th December more than standard correction or price fluctuation. Bitcoin is heading to Wall Street on 18th of December 2017. This for sure will rise value. Price predictions that BTC will reach 14.000$ after new year make sense now, it's not far from 11.5K to 14.000 if we include that will be traded on Wall Steet.

136  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is Ledger Nano S REALLY SAFE ?? Best Hardware Wallet ? on: December 04, 2017, 05:10:48 PM
Hi,

Is the Ledger Nano S REALLY SAFE Huh? Is this the best way to store crypto ? Is there a chance Ledger has access to our funds ? Are the private keys pre-generated and recorded by Ledger ? (I like that the Ledger Nano S is 'Tamper Proof' So I can buy one from a authorised seller) Does any one here use the Ledger Nano S ?
Thank you.

Hardware wallets are the best way to store cryptocurrencies because of the offer highest level of security. For example, both Trezor and Ledger Nano S require press psychical buttons in order to "send transaction" This can't be skipped by the hacker that gained control on your PC with hardware wallet connected. Ledger Nano S requires PIN code in case you lose your wallet. After three incorrect guesses, the device will wipe itself. Ledger Nano S store your private keys in secure enclave environment - offline. In comparison Bitcoins and private keys stored on an online computer a way more easy to hack and steal.
Ledger Nano S have Anti-Tampering Seal but is highly recommended to buy from an authorised seller (eBay seller could open brand new Ledger and write down private keys then sell and take your funds in future) Ledger Nano S also supports Passphrase - extra addition to 24-word recovery phrase.
Simply saying hardware wallets are built to secure your money and are a safe way to store cryptocurrencies.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] 🔵 UTRUST 🔵 The future of online payments is here. on: December 04, 2017, 02:27:32 PM
I think utrust has a much brighter future than monetha, look at the current monetha, investors are losing 10X, even though they managed to get huge funds at the time of ICO, but they did not manage to run the project very well

aysha9853 Only time will tell my friend, yes we lose money right now because Monetha attracted a lot of bigger investors (whales) that make the most profit on quick flip rather than on long-term investment, and right now Monetha price is x10 less than ICO it's a fact, but no one normal that can't even afford to lose will sell Tokens with the loss (I didn't - I keep Tokens and not cry, just wait) and yet the price is still far lower than initial coin offering level - I didn't lose single dollar yet, I invested what I can lose and I am comfrotable with wiaitng until Milestone 01 is released.
I agree with you Monetha didn't manage their project right and this cost investor their money (weak hands investors focused on a quick flip or thinking they will make x2 - 5x ICO in few weeks) so we have low price and lower morale that it should be - totally true.
Please remember one thing - uTrust have no working prototype, it's risky to say is better that Monetha right now - they equal to be fair, both may have some software working  and no official prototype, but Monetha claims they don't want to share source  code in a bid to stop copycats, and the Token price is not their priority right now - this show they very confident and focus on developing right now rather than release source code and try pump MTH, remember good product will always defend himself same about DEVs, and we will verify this in first Q 2018.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]🔵🔵 OYSTER 🔵🔵 Anonymous Storage Generates Revenue for Websites on: December 04, 2017, 11:30:41 AM
There is not working product yet obviously, if there were the price wouldn’t be so low! Grin The ico ended two days ago, let dev team keep on working and soon we will see the results. This is an ICO, when funds come first!! Market is plenty of useless tokens without any functionality, however here you will have the opportunity to upload your files to the iota blockchain using you pearls!

Oyster Pearl is one of best opportunities you can have right now.  It's still under the radar, and the price is more than fair in terms $=total token supply. Most Tokens ICO's out there are expensive, and some of them even may shake crypto if executed right like Monetha don't have a single line of code on GitHub where PRL have some work already started and you can see for yourself. I think this project will be one of best in 2018 once alpha version is released.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] KICKICO - PLATFORM FOR FUNDRAISING ON CRYPTOCURRENCY on: December 04, 2017, 09:56:12 AM
I am a little disappointed with that ICO project. They had during initial coin offering good marketing, and media press too, and still price is not reflecting, when I check my profit/loss on Blockfolio I am shocked how bad it performs, its 2nd position only Monetha beats in terms of loss and have 1st position. My Kickcoins are worth 19$ and loss 174$, I have no choice other than hold now. Big disappoint and lesson to be more careful with flashy ICO, I think ICO's without big hype like Truckcoin TRKC have better future than this.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is draining the altcoins on: December 03, 2017, 10:05:30 PM
Altcoins will raise before Christmas!

Looks like there is a bit of truth in what Bogdan said. I haven't seen green in almost all ALTS for a long time now, last 2-3 days is getting way better. Bitcoin is on rising but all ALTs follow this trend too, looks like it will be good Christmas time for accumulating more ICO Tokens is there will be a price correction.
