Basically, what we can conclude, is that they really suck at customer service and business planning.
Basically what we can conclude is that people are just begging to be scammed, and even after pages and pages of this, they beg some more. This happens everywhere in life, not just the BTC community. If something looks too good to be true it usually is. They will never meet their backlog, they will never ship all of the devices they sold, and they will always have people coming back and ordering new units that they will never receive. It's a darn shame that people have to learn the hard way. Yep. The specs vs. pricing ratios were too good to be true. Those who preordered for BFL should have either sold the preorders or went with Avalons (expensive but they actually deliver on most of their orders).

Just because he used "we" (common usage in academic papers) it doesn't mean that Satoshi is hinting that he is part of some group.

Currencies and economics are not her forte. Perhaps if Bitcoin can involve something emotional that housewives can easily connect to, then it might get a mention on her show.

Its one big time ponzi pyramid scheme and it is genius. once all the money is taken out of the market poof gone. Where are all the tens of thousands of accounts that mt gox have waiting in line, that have money burning a hole in their pocket? Yes The price will go up in the short term but there will be one big act of capitulation and that will be it. The big players are just going to keep selling into any type of rally. Why would a big trader let this this go to the moon, when he can just keep bleeding it out. Goes up 20 sells, comes back down over and over. If I had the time and money I would do the same thing. What do you think happened to Apple computer stock. Everyone sucked in thinking the stock was going to $1000 and now dead money. Good luck suckers. I will make my purchases for bitcoins for the silkroad thats it. OUT
Hey bro, if you don't like your Bitcoin "stocks", I'd be happy to take them off your hands!

Seeing as they have shipped some of the Jalapenos to a few writers, we know they exist.
If they actually deliver them (and when), is the only question.
I doubt BFL will deliver anything on a massive scale any time soon. The ones that were shipped to those writers are not the final product. It's just another way keep certain believers believing, while keep more money out of the pockets of other ASIC companies.

BFL and Josh in particular will get what's coming to them. You don't walk away with millions of dollars in preorders, treat customers like shit, and pretend it's all gravy. Someone somewhere will track Josh down and give him a good smack in the head, it's only a matter of time.
I live less than 10 minutes from BFL Headquarters in Kansas City. Need me to let him know? Know about what? Josh's not an idiot, he knows to watch his own back after all the BFL drama.

What makes me think a bit about this is that he practically lists all the specific points that SA uses against Bitcoin. I don't mean thoughtful, if misguided, economic ones, I mean stupid troll ones. Makes me wonder where he hangs out. The bottom of a dumpster, where he finds his meals.

LOL! noedaRDH! 1984 media? You'll find that on anything that will remotely stir up a debate or a journalists writes something stupidly outrageous like this video they'll disable the comments to avoid getting flamed, I do wonder if the OP has accidentally gotten him more attention because I think people like this belong in their own crazy corner where they can rave without bothering anyone.
Thing is, he's not even a journalist. He's a nobody. Go check out his site, he has nothing of value to say about ANY topic. He just wants to be picked up by someone with deep pockets and use him as a mouthpiece. Talk about desperate.

Who the fuck is this guy?
You can't even comment in ANY of his videos, he's got them comments disabled for every single vid.
1938 media? More like 1984 media; no talking back to Mr. wannabe dictator.

Anti bitcoin / litecoin comments are usually done with purpose - marketing and alternate, whether it be fiat or bullion.
Yep, almost 100% true. Many of haters on Youtube probably haven't figured out how to shutdown a PC.

Bitcoin will return to obscurity.
Disclaimer: not that I personally want it to happen. Just a theory based on some reading and observations.
That's only to assume that no transactional use of Bitcoins will emerge by the time fanfare is gone, which is an unlikely scenario.

This isn't intended to be another spam thread, this is real analysis.
Eventually the world will adopt a crypto-currency. That's just where technology is headed and where we are evolving. It won't, however, be bitcoin. Bitcoin was a good experiment while it lasted, but through experimenting with it it's shown its weaknesses, weaknesses that other crypto's have already made headway in correcting, just without wide adoption.
Eventually, a new crypto that isn't currently in existence will be developed by a counsel of cryptographers and industry professionals from silicon valley but more importantly will also be directed by the advice of economists, not just computer scientists. This new crypto will be widely endorsed in silicon valley and will take the world by storm, eventually becoming the exclusive currency of most online retailers and will be known as the internet currency (as if the internet were its on country / economy). As surely as I write this, this will happen, and when it does, all other crypto's including bitcoin will become obsolete. Sure, they'll still be collected as vintage items for their sentimental value the way old NES games are still collected. But mining them will be easy enough that they'll have no real value.
There's nothing "real" about this analysis. You're assuming that BTC's are the first virtual currency. They are not. Any open source program based on the features of Bitcoins will most likely be seen as another clone; no reason to give that clone any time of day due to the existing network effect of Bitcoins. Any non-open source program will be shunned by those who understand the underlying value of Bitcoins.

Bitcoins are hotter than ever. I don't think what happened in 2011 can really apply to what's going on now.

Title says it all. If you spot celebrity endorsing Bitcoin, post it here.
Let's get Michael Douglas to do it. "It's all about the Satoshi's, kid... the rest is just conversation."

Can anyone tell me if I get this right? What if I have a bunch of offline cold wallets. If I were to spend all the coins one of these wallets, don't I just put the corresponding wallet.dat file in the right directly and let BitcoinQT do its thing (with -rescan)? Or do I have to do something else to make sure I don't lose the coins?
